Excellent pub... Scrumptious food... Playground for children as well as bouncy castle. ..

This is a lovely local boozer with friendly clientele and staff. The garden out back has a wonderful view. A little gem of a pub!

Love coming to The Old Crown, the food is excellent, and I love the cocktails they do. Staff are great and friendly, and the owners are always looking for ways to help the community with their local small businesses, and bringing people together. Absolutely brilliant, keep up the great work 👍

I don't often travel this route, but due to horrendous traffic delays all around, we took the local routes home. We stopped at the Old Crown, and they are serving hot meals and snacks all at really great prices. The size of the meal is great its a large meal for very little money. They also have draught beer at lower prices than many other pubs around the town. A superb visit t safe, outstandingly clean, and every typical village pub has a great atmosphere. It was a superb place to be. Top Mark's for a superb local.

Fabulous pub: great food, reasonably priced, friendly welcoming staff, lots of outdoor seating, dog friendly - what's not to like? I had the mac & cheese, which was heavenly, hubbie had the chicken burger, with extra jalapenos - looked like about half a jar were added - he was delighted! We will be back....

Simple but good quality food, served in a friendly manner by welcoming staff. Quiet,relaxed atmosphere whilst we were eating and the seating was not cramped at all! Plenty of others were also enjoying the charm of this pub and the lunchtime menu...We ate looking forward to going again....

Not been to the crown in many years ,over 30 .lovely pub, great food ,nothing was to much for the staff ,great value for money and will certainly be going again next time we eat out in Tamworth, also lovely gardens to enjoy a pint or food.

Went for a birthday meal at The Crown today. We received a very warm, hospitable welcome from Mike and his team. Food was fantastic and as always the service was outstanding. This pub offers an excellent and comfortable atmosphere. As well as a fabulous beer garden, in a truly scenic location. It's the perfect spot, for any kind of get together. This pub caters for everyone ~ thank you for another terrific meal!

£5 for a pint served in a plastic cup when outside. Better and cheaper pubs close by. UPDATE… They block you from their Facebook page if you make a constructive/negative comment they don’t like. UPDATED… massive positive, they now allow pint glasses outside which has been welcomed by all.

Amazing pub. Lots of choice on the food menu..also cater for vegan. Live music.. loads of other activities. Lovely beer garden with a massive field with a bar. Also dog friendly ( including xl bullys under all restrictions ) Dogs also have a food menu. Management are very friendly and welcoming. If your ever in the area… pop in and see for yourself.

Friendly staff after a long run

Just moved back to the area and popped in here for lunch with the wife and kid, honestly a great little pub, hostess was really nice and interacting with my daughter. We order lunch and pudding and both were really good, good pricing and beer was cold. Will be going back, especially in the summer time they have some incredible views in their garden

The Old Crown,Wow, the meals are spot on plenty of choice even on a Sunday. We were a table of 4 and all had something different and all meals were excellent. The Sunday roast is amazing with plenty of meat and vegetables. Service is very polite and spot on. The place is spotless and has a friendly atmosphere. Although too chilly to sit outside( we were there in March),in the summer this would be a lovely place to bring the dog with a seating area near the bar and a large field to the back with plenty of benches and for the dogs to play. They also do a doggy menu. There if a gluten free menu too.

We booked a table for 9 people for mother's 72nd birthday. The service was great,really nice food, all came put together nice and hot, great service. Staff couldn't help enough. Very welcoming family atmosphere. We asked the staff to bring out the birthday cake as a surprise and they provided extra side plates and cutlery. Very reasoasonbly price . I recommend the rump steak 😋 thank you so much.

Visited here recently following a recommendation. Have to say the food was delicious and excellent value. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The manager Mike was particularly welcoming and could tell he is well liked by everyone. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend to anyone looking for good food with a great atmosphere. Had a lovely evening at the Old Crown for a meal then the pub quiz. My partner is gluten intolerant but we were pleased to see a gluten free menu available which not all places have. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we asked about the gluten free options. The meal was delicious and filled us both up. We stayed for the pub quiz which was well organised and we had a great laugh, despite finishing almost bottom! It was a really friendly atmosphere with everyone being really welcoming so we will definitely come back! Thank you.

When for a family birthday meal, food was excellent and really good quality, we all had puddings and they were delicious. Service was top notch and good quality beer too Will definitely return soon

Went for food and drink, I had the ultimate southern fried burger and my partner had the mega mixed grill. My burger was absolutely amazing, the Hash browns and breading on the chicken were perfectly crispy and the chicken itself was really juicy. Great place for cosy pub food!

Been to this pub several times in summer for drinks in garden. Decided to try food on evening as its local. Don't think we'll be eating there again. Had mixed grill. Asked for medium rare steak, cut in to it and it was nearly raw. Then every other piece of meat on plate was burnt, my chicken breast was black and rock hard. Kids both had burgers and both the buns were black from being burnt. The food took just over 40 mins to finally arrive. Only 1 member of staff on so took forever to get served at the bar. Don't think we'll bother eating here again. Such a shame.

Popped in with hubby & a couple of friends. Queued for ages to be served as only one young barmaid working, I had a large glass of pinot & must say it was the worst pinot I've ever tasted anywhere, so I asked if I could just have a splash of lemonade in it & when I say splash I mean splash & I was charged 80p for it, absolutely disgusting

The manager is awful and treats the staff members terribly and the managers very rude and snappy

First time,at Old Crown arrived in plenty of time for prebooked table,waited 30 minutes for starters, then had to wait another 35minutes for main course ,as the staff seemed very disorganised Will not make a returned visit

Reserved a table, sat down and after 20 minutes and nobody came over, went to the bar and waited another 10 minutes, ordered food and paid almost £6 for a peroni 😳 Food came out without the sauce it was supposed to, however the food tasted of mediocrity and not outright disappointment. If you’re expecting better than an average evening, I would most definitely avoid.

Lovely place really friendly service good ale and if you drink outside absolutely beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Dog friendly too.

Well we had booked a table of 14 for a birthday and it took an hour and half for the meal to arrive. We had 2 young children with us and 3 diabetics so time was an issue. The standard of food was not as you would expect with one dinner being sent back but in reality all dinners should of been sent back as the standard was not good. The booking was made 4/5 days in advance so you should of been prepared. It won't be a pub we use again

Had a delicious pâté starter followed by a generous mixed grill portion of steak, pork, chicken and sausage. Would highly recommend.

Quiet as we arrived for a late lunch, sat outside in the garden as a lovely warm afternoon. Went to bar for drinks, the young lady serving was having problems with the card reader, so had to pay cash. On ordering food they did have the reader operating so paid that way. We both had Burgers, nothing outstanding, no pudding so can't comment. Very nice garden area for families in a lovely village setting, but doubt we would go out of our way to go again.

Went for dinner and although it was very busy and clearly short staffed, the food was excellent and the staff were calm, friendly and efficient.

Decided to pop in and try out the Sunday lunch and we wasn't disappointed. You had a choice of three meats beef,turkey or chicken. We both decided on the beef it was definitely a great choice. Food came out beautifully presented and was piping hot. The beef was accompanied with roast potatoes, mash, carrots, sweetcorn, carrots , broccoli, Yorkshire pudding,stuffing and homemade gravy. It was delicious. We then decided to have a pudding and again there was a great choice. I opted for the sherry trifle cheesecake and it tasted amazing. Definitely the best choice. All in all it was a beautiful place, great food and we will definitely be returning and recommending you to others. Please pass on to the chef that we enjoyed every bit of the meal. Thanks once again

New management who are working hard to make this quiet pub with fantastic outdoor space welcoming for all the new families and dining for all. It’s a MARSTON pub so you get what you pay for . The new kitchen staff have turned the food around and the added outside bar is great for those that choose to enjoy the beautiful views from the massive outside space .. perfect for family and dogs to run around . They are actively advertising for new staff to help with the new demand on its popularity . New management are working hard to make this village pub a place you want to visit . 👏👍well done Mike , Stacy , Beth and your new team .

Just wonderful. We have visited many times in the last 6 months and had our sons Christening reception here. Such a wonderful day. Great drinks, great food and great staff. Couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend!

Really nice vibe at this pub. Food was very very good. Great value but quality outweighed the cost massively. Polite, friendly and accommodating staff. My wife has a gluten and dairy intolerance and the menu is broad and varied and staff were very considerate of her needs. Would recommend.

Hmm, it's ok, a work in progress. Phoned and booked, 4 attempts, over hour and half till the phone was picked up! Quite on arrival and all evening, on entrance there's a bar/booking desk with a wall separating the main bar area, with the table book and card machine so we waited there to be greeted and to be shown to our table, nothing happening, after a couple of minutes a punter suggested coming round as the 2 staff were in discussion. Showed our table, drinks and food ordered at the bar. Standard pub food, 3 courses, all ok, but when we come to the sweet, and told the cook's finishing 8 o'clock so if you want a sweet, get your turbo trotters on! Ok, new tenants learning the ropes, but either let your punters know on arrival the cook's off early, not with 5 minutes to go! I think we'll go back, but will be asking if not told, if we'll be on the clock to finish? p.s. i say cook as a chef prepares from scratch, this was the usual prepared chain pub grub, for an example the White Lion down the road, 2nd to none in our opinion.

We went today for a family meal ( 6 people). Our food was very nice. The new owners have only recently took it over and seem to be doing a great job. It has a fantastic outside area so will definitely be back to enjoy that in the nicer weather.

Went for Sunday lunch. After giving the place a miss for a while after not really enjoying the last one. Wife said they had been taken over , so thought I would give it a try. To be honest, the beef was like leather but I was so hungry I just ate it. Not the girls fault, but chef could do with a shake. Don't think we will be back any time soon

I am a regular visitor, with quite a large group, to The Old Crown for their regular Tuesday night quiz night. Many of us eat there on a regular basis, reasonable food. A short while ago we went along and my group won the quiz, so we were given a £50 voucher between 5 of us to spend at the bar, we planned to spend it on food. The voucher was due to expire 2.3.23 We turned up for the quiz last week, to be told that new Landlords had taken over and they refused to honour the £50 prize, so meals were ordered and had to be paid for. We were not advised that there would be a wait for the meals. We had to wait, individually, between an hour, and an hour and a half for our meals. Each meal was brought out individually, none of us managed to eat together, the chef seemed to be cooking one meal at a time. Several things were sent back, garlic bread was only cooked on one side, returned to the kitchen and came back the same. Peas were like bullets, some people's meals were cold. Portions were very tiny. Scampi came out with only 6 pieces, when queried, more was bought out which was cold. A side salad consisted of lettuce, 1/8 of a tomato, 2 tiny slithers of onion and cucumber. One of our party ordered food, after one hour of waiting for it someone came from the kitchen and told her they had since run out of that item and would she like something else. She decided she would rather not wait another hour, requested a refund, which has taken 5 days to come through, and purchased a packet of crisps instead. Discussion with the quiz master was pointless, despite us believing he was behind the prizes, he confirmed it's down to the landlord as to whether he honours the prize. A similar discussion with the new Landlord resulted in a response stating that the voucher cannot be honoured, as the Pub has now changed Landlords. But the prize was given by Marston's, not the previous Manager, so we felt this was incorrect. He stated that he would have a discussion with his area Manager about the voucher and would let one of us know the outcome. 5 days later, we are still awaiting a response. For the very near future my group have decided to stop eating there and attending the quiz, we will maybe return and try again when the new Landlords have gained some experience, apparently they have no previous experience of this type.

Booked for Christmas day meal, pre-ordered food, table of 9, when we arrived they didn't have most of what was pre-ordered. What they did have was horrendous, Turkey dinner I wouldn't have given to my dog. The last behind the bar didn't even offer much of an apology as all she kept saying is it wasn't her fault. Ruined my daughter's Christmas day afternoon which should have been a nice family Christmas Dinner.
