Consistently good food. We often eat there, and take away. Always excellent. Their other branches are also great. Good value, friendly service All great!!

It’s not easy finding really nice food, least of all Japanese food, at a reasonable price, but Oka was a delight. Not cheap, but good value for the quality. The food was delicious and the service timely and pleasant.

Good food and friendly (..possibly too friendly..) service. However you do not know how much you are going to be charged as prices vary from the menu outside to the menu inside, from the price quoted online to what you are finally going to be asked to pay. Although small differences, this is not acceptable and surely not legal.

The food is good as always but I was very impressed for the professional and kind service of the staff. Everyone is very friendly and ready to help you. Will definitely come back. Best service EVER.

Food was nice enough but the hygiene put me off. The staff enjoyed stroking every dog that entered the restaurant and then continued to serve food without washing their hands. Hygiene needs reviewing at this restaurant.

Ordered a take out from this restaurant after some time It used to be one of our favourite venues especially during Covid 3 out of the 4 items we threw away The miso soup was ok but cold The salmon hand roll was ghastly and smelt fishy. The marmite chicken was swimming in a sauce and was cold and bland Will not repeat this experience.

We ordered a take away sushi for 2. Not the very advanterous eaters, mainly Tuna and Salmon nagiris and inside out. What we had was delicious and superb. The fish fresh and high quality. We enjoyed our lunch out and plan to come again and try more of what the restaurant has to offer

My daughter and I went to Primrose Hill for a walk with Crumble, my daughter's puppy. After our walk we went acros to have some lunch and discovered OKA - I had never heard of it before, so we looked at the vast menu outside the restaurant. A member of staff named Radek came out to greet us and because of the puppy we thought we would not be allowed in. However, the restaurant was "puppy friendly". Radek informed us we could but we opted to sit outside as it was a nice warm day. We ordered Asian Chicken Ceaser Salad which was simply delicious. If we return to Primrose Hill again, we wil certainly visit OKA again. Thank you Radek for being so helpful.

Can anyone believe me when I say that for ages I have been walking past this restaurant in my own thoughts thinking that this was the furniture store, Oka?! I visited it recently with friends. We were walk in, I hadn't booked and it was getting a bit chilly outside and most cafes were closed (on Sunday), so we came in for a drink and snacks. We could only get the table for 45 minutes because otherwise everything was booked. It was great. The drink and snack were delicious. I had already had a meal so I couldn't eat but I am coming back again for a proper meal here. But from what we ate, I'd say they are pretty good.

It was super delicious and served very hot so when I arrived at home was like I was eating it at the restaurant. I had the beef ramen and will order it again.

I feel rough criticising restaurants at a time when they are trying to stay afloat. However, my experience is based on a particular way they a running things in lockdown. I have ordered 2x takeaways. Both times I have been to collect. The restaurant is extremely busy with takeaway orders - in that respect it is doing well. However, they are taking more orders than they can cope with, and therefore deliberately letting the customer service go bad. First time we were told that we would need to wait 1hr 45. When I arrived at this time, I had to wait a further 30 mins for pick up. Second time, we tried to be better prepared and called at 6pm, asking for the food to be ready at 7pm. They agreed, but 15 mins later we were told it was ready. Despite calling them, they were adamant that they would do nothing about it. In fact, I got the impression that it was deliberate - they agreed to 7pm to get us to place the order, but made it immediately to get it 'out of the way' so that they could accommodate more orders later. I won't go back. The people running the place could not have cared less about customers. Our takeaway order was £40 per head - this just isn't the OK at this price/level. Food is good, especially the cookie dough desert. However, it's not worth getting your eating time off by so much just to get that.

This restaurant punches way above its weight. A tiny shopfront that looks entirely unprepossessing, but the quality and innovation of the food is excellent. Its success makes it very busy, spilling up and down the pavement during lockdown with a convivial atmosphere and hurried but entirely friendly and professional service. A real neighbourhood gem!

Esta es la segunda vez que pedimos del servicio de comida para llevar durante Lockdown y nos ha decepcionado el tipo de actitud "muy mala".No podemos criticar la comida, ya que es buena, pero no volveremos a pedir comida para llevar porque simplemente no la hacen bien. El primer encuentro fue con mi hija, que pidió una comida a las 18 H 30 y solo estuvo lista para las 21 H 00. (hace unas semanas) Hoy pedimos una comida familiar numerosa para una celebración de cumpleaños y fuimos a recoger, cuando llegamos a casa, notamos que había 3 elementos: faltaban las comidas principales y llamamos al restaurante. Nos recibieron, "Pero comprobamos" y luego, después de consultar con la cocina, dijeron que otro cliente podría haberlo tomado por error. . . . Lo más exasperante fue cuando hicimos el esfuerzo de conducir 20 minutos para cobrar. Dijeron que podíamos venir a recogerlo (otros 40 minutos en el automóvil) o se ofrecieron a dárnoslo la próxima vez que vengamos (¿de verdad?) Sentí que se debería haber hecho una excepción y deberían haberlo entregado a NW 4 como entregan a N 3, que es incluso más lejos que nosotros. Lo que más me enfureció fue que no hubo disculpas. A petición nuestra, nos conformamos con un reembolso de las 3 comidas ausentes.La buena comida, pero el servicio al cliente increíblemente decepcionante, decepciona totalmente la experiencia.

I had a sociable catch up meeting with my family on a trip to London and my son had recommended Oka as it was a location he knew near this office.The first impression is that the space is small, the restaurant is long and thin with a limited number of tables. However, we had made a reservation (which given the locations size is probably recommended) and were given a nice table for six at the back of the restaurant. Swiftly welcomed and seated we ordered drinks from beer to wine and then decided on a starter of Peking duck for size people which equated to one pancake for each person. For the main I had marmite chicken which was excellent, although the Pak Choi was cold and I am not certain if this was intentional or accidental.We finished with coconut pineapple which was also outstanding.All in all Oka is a good place, my only real reservation is that the small size of the restaurant means in winter I would not want a seat by the door as it would be draughty and clients tend to wait there on arrival before their table is ready.

We were in the area and decided to stop off for lunch at Oka. Staff were not unfriendly, but also not particularly attentive, e.g. I would've quite liked another drink but no one came and asked if we wanted anything else. The food was ok, but I would've expected a bit more flavour from Asian cuisine. The atmosphere was a bit meh and the whole experience felt a bit rushed, like they just wanted us out and the next people in. All in all, not awful, but definitely room for improvement.

Delicious food ! Mouth watering salmon miso salad ,packed with avocado and a sweet ,tasty salmon glaze .I would eat this every night if I could .Particularly wonderful service from the South African / Portuguese gentleman .He was professional , warm and enthusiastic .

Whilst the food is superb I am very disappointed that you allow dogs into the restaurant. Not only do I find it unhygienic but you have no consideration for people with dog allergies like myself.

Mi hijo de 11 años y yo fuimos aquí como amantes del sushi. Encontramos solo un problema con la comida. Bajó demasiado pronto como tan bueno? El personal fue muy amable y nos encontró sentados sin reserva justo antes de que el lugar se llenara. También tenían buen sentido del humor, que siempre es una ventaja.Recomiendo probar este lugar si aún no lo has hecho.

This is a small restaurant serving Japanese food near to Primrose Hill. The food is freshly prepared from a very small kitchen and there is one table that you can sit on outside on the street. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

Abbiamo preso come starter i salty edame, fagiolini, ed ancora i wakame salad, alghe condite con straccetti di frittata e cetrioli, veramente deliziosi. A seguire l’hamachi cevice, pesce crudo condito con pomodori, zucchine e peperoni ed ancora il bulgogie beef, carne con peperoni a julienne riso il tutto marinato nella soia. Abbiamo assaggiato ancora il black cod, merluzzo cotto a vapore e caramellato, ed il mongolian lamb, costine di agnello accompagnato da riso cavolo coreano marinato in aceto e salsa rosa al chili. We had sushi to go (sushi box + spider roll). The sushi were very well made with an excellent rice and fresh fish. Everything tasted fresh and good.

Very impressed with this quaint neighbourhood restaurant. We had plenty of sushi (the best thing on the menu) all of which tasted great, you could tell it was made freshly and with quality ingredients.

Absolutely awful meal . I had a miso black cod , it was so slimy I was almost sick taking the first mouthful, I couldn’t eat it and had it returned, my dish was last out and my family had already almost finished Therefore didn’t order a replacement and left starving.

This is a great restaurant - every dish was delicious (apparently the only restaurant serving fresh wasabi in London and really yummy it was too) and the staff were friendly. Great for kids too.

Tendemos a comer muchos entrantes y sushi y no solemos tener un plato principal. Los platos principales son excelentes, aunque también. Mi única queja es que es tan pequeño que tiene que reservar con mucha antelación, especialmente para mesas de cuatro o más.

Je recommande le menu du déjeuner, il est excellent et raisonnable au point de vue prix. Le service est rapide et efficient. Les serveurs toujours souriants et à vôtre service. Un mélange de cuisine Japonaise, Chinoise et Coréenne d’une rare qualité. Essayez, vous serez enchanté... Bravo à l’équipe....

I have just returned from Oka - the service, quality of food are exceptional and their lunchtime menu consisting of two courses and a drink is just amazing value at £13.

Overwhelmed by a sudden downpour we took refuge in this little pan Asian restaurant in Primrose Hill. We had the tune as a starter, which was quite nice, but to me the salad with salmon sashimi was just bland and, except for the salmon had nothing to do with Asia. Not quite sure it makes sense for the guest eating in to have to wait for a long time due to the take away orders

Have been quite a few times here and it is always great. The sushi is the best you can get without paying a fortune in central London. We tend to stick to the appetisers and sushi as we feel it what they excel in. Have taken friends a few times and they are always impressed. Highly recommended.

El mal servicio, la comida para diferentes personas salió en diferentes momentos, por lo que 1 persona dejó de comer sola. Se quejó pero no entendió qué hacer para rectificarlo. Mushy sobre los alimentos cocidos cubiertos con grasa demasiado sobre salsas de papilla. Incluso el arroz de sushi estaba cocinado. Fue la peor experiencia de restaurante que he tenido en mi vida. Camareros confusos y lentos que no toman el control y revolotean de una cosa a otra. Me quedo con una sensación de intento muy amateur de cocinar los alimentos. Es una pena que a muchas personas les guste este restaurante, pero yo no lo hice y los otros 3 conmigo sentían lo mismo.

If you like sushi you are at the right place. They offer the best sushi and I have had the best sushi in my life. Nice place, fast service, friendly staff. I would recommend you to visit Oka and test their tasty sushi.

Chance visit to this small pan asian and sushi restaurant. Service was good and food was delivered quite quickly. However, after we saw Sushi platters on other tables we were sorry we had not tried these instead of what we ordered. There was a big selection of sushi on the menu. We ordered Prawn Tempura and chicken panko teriyaki. The former was very good but I was disappointed by the chicken panko teriyaki which was not crisp, probably because it was laid on top of steamed rice causing the panko to become sorry.

The one positive thing is their sushi fish quality is good. However a bunch of very annoying negatives: very limited menu and fish selection (literally nothing beyond tuna, salmon, and hamachi) and multiple occasions where they have run out of the key component — i.e., tuna!! In addition, it’s a hard place to order from (not on deliveroo) and not a user friendly website. I would skip it in favor of more reliable sushi choices

Another lovely meal at Oka. Can’t fault the sushi. We tried a couple of specials which were excellent especially the yellowtail carpaccio. Looking forward to returning.

Small but nicely decorated location, reservation mandatory. Friendly and welcoming owner, arrogant waitresses. Excellent Sushi in all sorts of combinations for every taste. Mostly young customers who give the impression they spent their rich parent’s money and behave accordingly. Sushi top, rest okay.

OKA can't be failed in any way. The location is perfect, staff was extremely welcoming and friendly which could only be topped by the food. Black Cod has become a favourite of mine and it was to-die-for! The sushi was outstanding in taste, fresh and beautifully presented which can only be highly recommended. The cubed pineapple for dessert was as delicious as a pineapple can be - sweet, full in flavour with a scoop of ice-cream on top.

Looking for a place to lunch we tried Oka, the best decision of the day. The sushi was excellent, best I ever had. The ramen was extremely tasty, with perfectly marinaded chicken. Price was much too cheap.

I've been head several times but mostly got food to take away. It's reasonably priced for the quality and if you love sushi it's a must. Fresh, creative and delicious. Staff are lovely too.

Turned up to have lunch but busy as so waited 20 minutes looking at bookshop before coming back to £13.50 set lunchtime menu. Very tasty and fresh. Watch for the 12.5% service charge.

We have been coming here and getting delivery from this place since it opened. The sushi is fresh and playful try the Jalapeno salmon roll and Tataki asparagus are winners in my book. The warm dishes are also tasty, beef Bulgogie is pretty solid. Staff are friendly and efficient, just today we picked up a takeaway to eat on primmers. Definitely recommend.

I'm a regular at Oka and am happy to recommend it. Good quality food, good choice, good service, nice atmosphere, prices a little high but acceptable. They do take away too which is nice. Well worth a visit.

I don't usually write reviews but because of the great experience I have received in this little restaurant,I have decided to do it.Me and my wife came to London for a 5 days vacation, we decided to try this place because of the trip advisor reviews , they seems to be genuine and honest .The choice was great, the staff was super friendly and mostly the food was fantastic.From the appetizer to the entrées and desserts we enjoy every bite of it.Because of the five stars experience, I left on top of the service charge,20% tips of the total.

We dine here regularly both as a couple and with friends. Decor wise, it's clean and basic and there really isn't much of a wine list but the food is served steaming hot, portion size is excellent, it's always delicious and most impressive is the value for money. This little gem is always packed whether for lunch or dinner, so you would be well advised to book ahead. They also deliver locally but from experience, it's better to eat at the restaurant. If the wine list were better, I would have awarded 5 stars.

Appetizer and main lunch plus tea for 13.50 GBP. Quick service and excellent food. Fresh calamari and salmon appetizers. Flavorful ramen soup. Highly recommend the Kung Pao chicken for a spicy sweet chili sauce.

Fuimos a cenar un domingo, la velada fue encantadora no tenían sitio pero nos pusieron una mesa rápidamente cuando se quedó una disponible. Pedimos dos cervezas japonesas que estaban buenas, pero el precio era como siempre en Londres desorbitado, cenamos ligero, un tataki de salmón y unas piezas de sushi con salmón y aguacate, ya que se le había acabado el atún, tengo que decir que él tataki estaba espectacular y no estaba peor el sushi, riquísimo!!!! lo recomiendo 100%. El precio de todo fue unas 28 libras con la propina típica que incluyen en la cuenta los londinenses, el total sin ella eran unos 24 libras.

We love this small restaurant. It is the proof that when the people at the top get it right, everything else follows. The staff are fantastic with just the right touch. Te weekday menu is great value and the fusion food is spot on. It knocks some of its more pretentious rivals into a cocked hat.

We love Oka very much the quality of food is just amazing and staff are always nice We have been going for about 4 years and never experienced any negative points.Love the dragon roll is out of this world.Very small place so always busy and also they allow our dog to sit under the table how amazing is that.

Have eaten here a few times now and the food always fresh and good. They offer quite good creative salads and some standard Japanese fare. The sashimi was very nice. The staff are friendly and it always seems to be busy.
