Excellent evening. The food feels fresh and light. The staff are not part of the family which own the restaurant but act as if they care just as much - friendly, welcoming and efficient . It’s rare to find such good waiters and this is a restaurant I have no hesitation in recommending and I don’t say that often. The only surprise was it was quite expensive despite the dishes not seeming to be too much - the total bill was higher than I thought it would be. But apart from that - an excellent team, great fresh food and a a great evening. Thanks

Newly-opened on Fortess Road, Haku Kitchin looks enticing with its stylish, minimalist decor boasting plenty of space while also feeling intimate. Unfortunately the service and food let it down badly. Service was so slow that another table gave up waiting for their mains and walked out. With only five covers in on this Friday evening, the server’s explanation when taking the bill payment that they only had one sushi and one hot food chef working, which meant orders had stacked up, was inadequate. It’s not a large restaurant; they should be able to handle 11 diners. Complimentary mochi were offered as means of apology, which was appreciated. For mains we ordered one vegetable yakisoba and one tofu katsu curry. When they arrived (after 40 minutes) the yakisoba was overly sweet without enough variety of flavour and texture. The tofu katsu was bland, with a measly amount of breadcrumbing. Both dishes are done better - and cheaper - at similar local restaurants. There was electronic dance music pumping away in the background, which was a strange choice given the evident care and attention that has been paid to getting the atmosphere right in other ways. I really hope Haku Kitchin improves and goes on to place for itself in the Tufnell Park restaurant scene but, based on this experience, it has a long way to go yet.

The place has a really authentic and intimate feel and it is lovely to be able to engage with the chef who is very passionate about his work. I'd strongly recommend the grilled salmon poke bowl.

Small and friendly restaurant with really fresh and delicious Sushi and much more. Clearly take the cooking and presentation seriously and enjoy doing so. Very clean throughout (including immaculate bathroom). A small gem.

Recently opened at 118 Fortess Road in Tufnell Park, Umesh, the chef, has moved from Camden and is serving delicious Japanese food, including vegan and vegetarian options in this 20 seater near the tube station. Light as a feather tempura, delicately spiced poke bowls and a vegan yakisoba, plus a wonderfully presented dragon roll. At the moment - four days in- it’s mostly locals, but the word will spread.

This restaurant is fabulous! It was our last day and stumbled across it in Camden! There are different floors with different chefs such as Japanese, Thai and Malaysian! Ordered a few small plates to share and the food was amazing! We got talking to the chef cooking by the side of us who gave us complimentary sushi to try which was the best we have ever tasted! A must go if you are in Camden! Very clean, fantastic service and beautiful food!

Popped in here as we were staying nearby and fancied some sushi. Service and food were excellent with an extremely helpful and friendly waitress. The gyoza was cooked to perfection and served with a nice spicy dip and the signature crispy roll was very tasty and went well with the vegetable selection. Will definitely revisit before we head back home.

Easily the best crispy chicken in the marketplace. Try the sample and you'll understand what I mean! 10/10

A good selection of Japanese food. Excellent sushi and some pretty decent tempura. Sometimes the 'seasonal' specials seem a little eccentric but a worthwhile option for Japanese food in NW London
