A great little local sushi restaurant with a good menu selection and reasonably priced. Lovely fresh fish and delightful service.

La comida me pareció fantástica, especialmente a ese precio. Probablemente el mejor atún picante rollitos que he tenido. Sin duda, supera las expectativas y todo el mundo alrededor de nosotros parecía realmente como su comida. Había un señor tan encantador mayor que nosotros sirve y sin duda volveremos!

Visitamos Ikura anoche con mi amigo y teníamos diferentes rollitos de sushi para compartir entre nosotros. Cada rollo era delicioso y muy fresco. He estado en Japón y este resultó ser de una calidad equivalente, lo cual es raro en Londres. Realmente una joya escondida y el personal encantador.

Nice food, the price is acceptable the fish is also very fresh, the workers were very kind to everyone they served. I enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to others.

Visitamos este lugar con un grupo de amigos para nuestra noche en Londres. Nunca esperaba esta gran comida japonesa en ese precio razonable! Teníamos un barco de sushi, tempura, algo y berenjena a la parrilla, todos ellos desde los ingredientes frescos.Los camareros eran muy amables y nos enteramos de que el chef en realidad pasó algunos años en Japón investigar cocinas tradicionales!!En general es una muy buena noche, sin duda recomiendo este lugar a todos.

I think I found a hidden jam in Belsize Park area London. It's Ikura Japanese restaurant. I did not know this place before but I was on the area and one of my friend recommended it so I went on to try also I am big fan of Japanese food :)) I ordered some of my favourite dish like "yaki tori, nasunadangu, chicken tariyaki and ebi tempura for main and California roll, big roll and Salmon roll also with green tea ice cream for dessert". I have to say I have been to a lot of Japanese restaurant before and order almost the same food but this one bested at all. Food was fresh and delicious in every way. I think they are very under rated restaurant compare to their food tested and quality then others.service was quite good didn't have to wait for long. So overall great place to have some fresh Japanese food. Definitely recommend to all and next time I will go with my husband :)) to give him a good treat.:))

Nuestros entrantes tardó más de 30 minutos para llegar, el restaurante que no estaba lleno.Pedí un plato de fideos que sabía muy pobre y olía mal, tomé de nuevo y pedí un plato diferente. Me denegaron también tuve que pagar por él. (Emily el camarero) también insistió en que considero que casa de microondas. ¿Qué puedo hacer? En conjunto fue una pérdida total de mi tiempo y dinero. No volveremos.

my partner and I have just came back from this delicious restaurant. We had a really good dinner with fresh fish and well cooked udon. we are defintely satisfied about this experience and we strongly recommended to try this place. believe me, we love japanese foods and we have been in lot of other places and expecially here in London comparing with other restaurants this one has a good match between price and meal.

He estado en muchos de los buenos y caros restaurantes japoneses en Londres y este fue una sorpresa positiva! Los precios son razonables y la comida puede seguir con los restaurantes caros. Tuve 2 rollos, una sopa, y pollo katsu curry, que era absolutamente delicioso. Todo. Es un lugar muy básico nada lujoso, pero con muy buena comida. Sin duda volvería otra vez.

This japanase place is really great: fairly priced, delicious food and superb service. Try the chicken curry or the duck udon soup.

Look, I love sushi. And I really like an unpretentious local joint. However, I found the pricing at the toppy end which would have been fine if the fish knocked me off my seat. But no, the pieces were measely with so much rice and wasabi that it really wasn't enjoyable. Either price yourself appropriately or up the quality of the food.

This restaurant is a real gem, that hides on Haverstock Hill in 'Steele's Village'. I think it could easily be missed because of it's position.It looks like an ordinary local Japanese from the outside - nothing fancy or showy, but looks are deceptive - it is well worth visiting. If you like Yo Sushi this is not the place for you. If you like Cafe Japan (Golders Green) and love your Japanese food, this is the place.The food is really super traditional Japanese of high quality. The chef is clearly very careful in his choice of high quality ingredients, and authentic cooking style.For those wanting real Japanese food with all the emphasis on quality, rather than paying for gimmicks or a place reliant on a posh name, you will appreciate this place. It is not for those who like elaborate roll sets deep-fried, with lots of mayonnaise, tempura bits or other trendy fashions that forget fundamental food quality. This is the real deal!The sashimi and sushi are reliably super fresh. The mackerel cooked in salt is tender, rich and exquisite. The prawn tempura is not just normal prawn but large juicy sweet shrimp with a super traditional sauce. The wafu steak is lovely quality, dry aged, tender beef. Tori Karaagi is finely coated and uses the more moist cuts of chicken - not necessarily drier chicken breast meat.There are other tasty dishes to enjoy. I have the impression that the chef is quite a perfectionist. You can feel and taste the obsessional attention to detail in the food. Marvellous!Even the mochi desserts are delicious - the green tea tastes like a good matcha and the chocolate on is surprisingly rich.The manager is always friendly and helpful and will go out of her way to make sure you are happy with the food.If this restaurant were in the West End, Hampstead Village or Kensington they could double the prices easily. It's remarkably good value!Ikura also do takeaways to the local area, but don't be mistaken, this is not takeaway quality - this is seriously good.I've eaten Japanese food all over London, in Tokyo, Kyoto, California, Sydney, Cape Town, Singapore, and many other places. This restaurant can compete with the best traditional Japanese fare anywhere.
