Oh My Cod in Pembrokeshire

We wanted chips, chip shop chips. We had tried closer places, that said they were open, were closed. Oh my cod was open and able to give us what we wanted.

Probably the worst fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. The fish was mainly batter which was under cooked and soggy. The chips were also underdone and tasteless. The requested salt and vinegar seemed non existent! Only positive was the friendly serving staff.

Polite staff, chips was awful undercooked, inexcusable to serve undercooked food, I have a good mind to notify food standards agency!

Great fish n chips, loved the curry sauce, big portions for the large fish n chips, very friendly and happy staff, we will be going back when next in Tenby.

What a difference 12 months can make last year absolutely fantastic 5/5 stars this year we've given1 star. The cod was that thin it could of been mistaken for plaice, chips thin and soggy my guess frozen, peas so dry that they stuck in our throat and were hard to swallow the only saving grace was the curry sauce which was very nice which is the reason we've given 1star.

Quite disappointed all round. Chips were tasteless and over cooked. Curry sauce watery and spicy, paid for battered sausages, drove away and they were plain. Nothing stood out good other than the speed but I would rather have good and accurate and be slower any day of the week. Chip shop was no good today.

TERRIBLE... Used to be fantastic, but not anymore. Twice now I've spent £40 on fish and chips for the whole family... First time all the chips were inedible, solid, crispy, empty of potato inside, then the same again last Friday (about a month after the first lot of disgusting chips) So twice now I've arrived home with half a meal and have had to start cooking myself. SERIOUSLY, don't bother

I had batter sausage. There was no batter on the sausage at all. If you can not make what you are selling then take it off the menu!!!

Food is amazing - size, quality and cost. Best place for fish and chips in Tenby; hands down. Cannot recommend highly enough

Couldn't go into the restaurant so ordered at desk, was done in a reasonable time but the food was poor quality. Looked like it had been fried in dirty oil, found old brown fried batter attached to the fish. Fish just looked awful and tasted funny. Chips were like eating cardboard. The curry sauce was delicious though... And the scampi wasn't awful but not great.

I have eaten from here many times hoping for improvements each time and each time I have been disappointed. The fish is always over cooked and reubbery, the thick doughy batter is soggy and the chips are like cardboard. I would avoid at all costs!

Disgusted. Mushy peas were moldy burger was dry and cod was moldy as well

Got our order wrong, tried to blame it on us when this clearly was not the case. Refused to remake our order unless we waited a long time so told us to go elsewhere. A simple ‘sorry’ and remake of the order would have been fine!

3.5 Had fish and chips here for lunch. The chips were lovely, I am assuming freshly made to order. Very enjoyable.

Got my kids chips from here in June this year on our 1st night of our annual holiday after seeing the Waverley boat and we waited over 40 minutes for a large chips 3 jumbo sausages pot of curry sauce and pot of gravy then when we got it back to the cottage where we were staying the chips look and tasted frozen. They were not very nice at all. Very disappointing as we love Tenby and come every year.

Was kept waiting at the outside window to place an order while staff were on their mobiles, they seemed to be a bit offish with each other and there is no customer service interaction. seemed like ages to finally get my food .. Not OK if your in a hurry. Will definately not use again .

Friendly service and the chips were good but the fish was too oily for my liking. I know nothing about fish frying but I wonder if the oil was hot enough? Generous portions and, apart from being oily the fish was good quality.

Would love to give this place a good review cus the staff seemed lovely however unfortunately both the fish and the chips seemed to have come from the freezer department of a supermarket. Not fresh, not much flavour and pretty poor texture. Not what I expected from a seaside chippy, will look elsewhere next time I'm in town.

Just ordered late evening fish and chips and pie and chips . £37.00 altogether !! opened them up no salt and vinegar as requested! Chips are like cardboard!!Our food is ruined! Thank you very much for being so lazy as you were about to close ! that you could no be bothered to sprinkle out food with the most obvious seasoning!! WILL definitely not be coming back !!!

Had my food delivered today by a lovely gentleman. Fish was stunning also the chips had a lovely taste curry sauce just right also mushy peas were delicious also my Roxanne had 2 sausages no complaints at all thank you we will be ordering soon 😋 xx

Terrible! Staying in kiln park and ordered food Went back to the caravan and was missing meal. The chips were awfull. Like frozen carboard tasting. Never again!

Grabbed a quick fish and chips take away for the family and I, whilst visiting Tenby. We ordered through the takeaway window, so didn't really see much of the facilities available. Oh my Cod is reasonable prices, no more expensive then other fish n chips shops in the area, or seaside towns. Portion sizes are good, my partner and I shared a large cod and chips, and even left some (took home). The food was delicious, my family and I sat along the the Benches, adjacent to the shop as it was a nice day. I would happily visit again next time in Tenby.

Ordered at the shop in the afternoon for delivery to Meadow Farm campsite in the evening. Order arrived on time, still piping hot, lovely fish and nice chunky chips. Highly recommended 👌

Very long wait. Chips are not proper chip shop chips they are frozen, fish was full of bones and soggy batter. So disappointing.

The young man who took our order was very nice, however the cod was not cod, the chips were frozen not proper chip shop chips. I have no idea what the batter was it was soggy, very pale, almost like the oil was not hot enough, it was like a soggy pancake wrapped around the fish. We did not eat the cod or chips. The scampi was frozen so could not go wrong. All in all £40 worth of food went in the bin. I would have taken it back but it was closed.

Tenby is a very pretty Welsh seaside town, so what can be better than fish and chips.on a Sunday evening. But whatever you do don't get them here, Oh My Cod - Oh My God, possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The same goes for the other 5 people with me. The fish was tastless, the batter was tastless and dripping with oil, but still somehow managed to be undercooked, the batter inside was just that, still batter. The chips weren't much better. The people that have given this place and overall rating of 4.1 must be either mistaking it for somewhere that can actually cook or their taste buds were dead. You have been warned.

Great, they were very busy, and still took orders up to 8pm, delivering the very tasty fish and chips after 8pm at the shop. Ordered from the window, didn't go in

The place should really be called “ oh my god”. The people were rude to me on the phone, I will never get my fish and chips from there. I was on the phone and I wanted to asked a couple of questions as my grandma is gluten free and get really poorly if she has gluten and in the fish batter it has it has gluten in it as we found our online. I also needed to know how long take to order 11 fish and chips as we are having a big family holiday and we at the sea side so it is our tradition to have fish and chips and we wanted to come oh my cod because of the really good experiences we have had before but now we have changed our minds. Ps I would have done 0 stars but it won’t let. We

The fish and chips here were terrible, and considering the near restaurant prices you'd expect far better. They use frozen chips, the oil was dirty (little black specks over everything) and the fish was soggy and not worth the 20min wait. Go somewhere else

I had these American diner chips delivered, they were delivered in perfect time, very friendly person and the chips are some of the best I've had. A beautiful crunch, highly recommended!!

Really sorry to write a poor review but Sunday 17th July was the worst Fish I have ever had from a Fish & Chip Take Away. I have previously eaten here before which were quite nice but unfortunately on this occasion the fish was disgusting. Expensive mistake for a family of 4 😩

Couldn't complain about the service but sadly have to say this was the worst fish and chips I have had!. I live in the Midlands and fish tastes and looks like fish, batter always beautiful and crunchy. Sadly here the fish for a regular size would have been enough for a child, didn't taste like fish and the batter was soggy and not really edible. Sorry oh my cod but you really need to be upping the game.

When I ordered there were 4 people in front of me in the queue. We waited 15 mins for 2 fish and chips. Staff taking orders very nice but the bald guy cooking seemed to be very annoyed and was swearing for some reason. I think he had had a long day. Anyway chips were nice but fish batter very soggy and wet. Wouldn't visit again.

£4.95 for about eight pieces of very small scampi which was greasy and contained very little prawn. Friendly service though but I think it's a little too expensive for what it is. A chippy.

Disappointed! Ordered 2 cod and chips. Waited in the rain whilst watching the owners singing happy birthday on face time to people and one even coughed in their hands and not bothered too wash their hands! Eventually got our food, asked for salt and vinegar, not even the slightest taste of s&v on the whole meal. Overall disappointed as it looked busy from the outside which would have thought it's because their food is really good, turns out to just be people waiting for their food because they were too busy focused on other things.

If you want frozen oven chips and soggy batter, then this is the fish and chip shop for you.

Due to the fish & chip shop in Park Rd being closed we tried the above. The meal was excellent the fish was cooked beautifully and the chips were spot on. The staff were polite & helpful and the whole experience was great.👏👏👏👊👍

Good friendly service and the queue system outside is clever as it makes it look really popular so people join in. However food is average at best. Chips are tasty but the cod is not as thick and white as you get in the Midlands. Batter is also very soggy. Needs tool be crunchy. Not cheap either.

just waited 50 mins outside for frozen chips !!! Supposed to be a chippy and I have been looking forward to a chippy tea all day. For a resort town I find this really dissapointing, chips went in the bin what a waste of time and money !!

Bought 3 cod & 2 chips The batter while appearing crispy was actually soggy & raw inside & was inedible.The Manager blamed it on us walking 150 yards before eating it & refused to apologise/accept any responsibility. Don't eat here!

Hesitate to give 1 star as it was busy and the staff were pleasant. However if it's going to take 1.5 hours for a microwaved pasty and some freezer chips then you really need to let people know the estimated wait time so they can either go for a walk or go elsewhere!

Waited 1.5 hours for a sausage and chips. Owners did not tell us how long to expect to wait as we would have gone for a walk and come back. Chips were dry and freezer job, and the worst I've had! 4 people cooking and it still took ages. They prioritising deliveries

Quite a long wait, but that was only because it was so popular. It was worth the wait though. Best Cod and Chips I have had for a while.

Highly disappointed, hardly any queue but still had to wait around 30 minutes for my food. No salt or vinegar (as they didn’t even ask), the gravy was watery and was overall a poor experience.

WOW! Me and my partner ordered for delivery a chicken kebab munch box with chips and onion rings. Put quite simply, this was the tastiest chicken meat we have ever had! The portion was massive and the person on the other end of the phone was very polite and accommodating even tailoring their set meal to our preference! Can't fault them!!

Oh my cod, what a hidden gem this place is,I came across it on Facebook and had to call in, i was not disappointed when I saw their box meals in pizza boxes,i had a kebab box meal, it was huge and delicious, worth every penny

Large fish was dreadful - couldn’t even eat it, like. Rubber and felt old. The chips were nice although they didn’t put salt & vinegar on even after I asked if she had whilst receiving the bag.

I don't know if this place has changed hands recently as l came here last year and all was fine. But oh my cod, after yesterday's experience never again! This place is so disorganised and poorly run. They take your money, give you a ticket and then you wait in the street for 35 MINUTES to claim your food. The 4 individuals behind the counter appeared not to have a clue what they were meant to be doing and were rowing with each other constantly. Hence the delay l suppose. Once it arrived the food was extremely greasy and squashed. Not good.

Ordered during a busy time and they delivered it very promptly. It was still steaming hot when it hit our plates, and like the name says Oh My Cod that was one of the best fish and chips I've ever had! Diolch yn fawr!

Love food there but they seem to hate their customers as they kept hanging up whilst we were trying to order food. Whilst they're open!!

6 of us had various items and everyone really enjoyed. Staff were very nice and friendly and can't complain about the whole experience.
