Needs a major interior re-vamp throughout, sash windows so ill-fitting in the frames the draughts in the rooms cancel out any heat from the radiator. Had to draught-proof the sash window myself with sand-filled nylon bags which were found in the bottom of the wardrobe!* (*more room in a coffin!) Shower room: A joke! With shower water valve fully open, took 3 to 4 minutes for any water to come through, major air locks in plumbing. Tatty & well worn furniture in the lounge area & poorly carried out window frame repairs evident in the Quiet lounge. Catering, disappointing, e.g. Bacon & sausages available at buffet breakfast tasteless & too pink. On the plus side, Staff were very helpful & Courteous.

Absolute terrible hotel the double room was the size of a large wardrobe the toilet was in the shower that's how small it was & the sink was out next to the bed Wasn't the cleanest either the door to the room didn't fit the hole for the door so you could see people walking past & the the gaps down the side & underneath the do so every time people walked past sounded like they were walking through your room Would definitely not recommend this place cost us £149 for this privilege worst place I've ever stayed in for half this price stay in the Strathmore just around the corner it's alot nicer cleaner & comfortable This is a last resort stay if you must stay in Tenby I'd rather pick another time to stay if this is the only place available

Great experience from start to finish - every member of staff was excellent! And nothing was too much. From checking in, as I had a big dog a bigger room was recommended and upgraded. The room was fresh and clean and all furniture did what it says on the tin! Shower great! Didn't hear much noise at all, was on the 4th floor. Right on the beach so can sleep listening to the waves. Room a bit warm but did get cooler. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, staff amazing again. Only recommendation would be to upgrade the sausages - but I'm fussy 😉 Fantastic stay, will definitely be back and recommend!!

Stayed last week. Lovely, clean, Hotel. Wonderful location and friendly staff. Shirley, one of the waitresses, was especially kind and caring. Entertainment every evening. Special thanks to Hubert, a perfect Gentleman, who was always willing to help and give information and stories about Tenby and surrounding areas.

Just spent a wonderful four days here...and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel...specifically the staff...and their service. The hotel is beautifully located at the top of cliff above Tenby South Beach...fabulous views, with easy access to either steps (if your able) or a long ramp down to the soft sandy shore. The food was great and plentiful ..and the serving staff were extremely helpful, patient and obliging. From the moment we arrived, despite a few initial "hiccups" the front office did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The evening entertainment was different every night..and was terrific... with Dani on the last night, totally "rocking it." My friends and I had a great time...and I would very much hope to return.

Homely 3-star hotel with all usual facilities. Only drawback is the rude night barman who seemed intent on annoying customers. Longtime eccentric Hubert is worth a stay alone.

My wife and I and two daughters stayed here for 2 nights in August 2023. On the plus side The location is great, on the sea front overlooking Tenby's south beach with a 2min walk into the centre of town. There is a large public car park 2min walk away. It has a well stocked bar, large beer garden and the bar prices are sensible. The staff we spoke to were friendly and accommodating. On the downside The rooms are very very basic and look tired along with drab and dirty thread bare carpets in the halls and stairs. The whole building could do with an overhaul. But with such a demand for accommodation in the town, they get away with it charging £170 a night without breakfast. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. If you are not too fussy about the rooms and are happy for a cheap and cheerful experience. Give it a go but don't expect any form of luxury.

The hotel was advertised at £95 per night when I went to book it was £117 per night plus extra for breakfast!, the room we had was very small, The staff were polite, unfortunately the evening entertainment a male singer was very typically average, The breakfast was very good and served quickly. Would I stay again YES although I can't help feeling for the money theres better places to stay in Tenby.

My wife and I called in for a drink last week while staying in Tenby, we were lucky to have a table opposite the hotel in the sun/garden terrace overlooking the south beach, enjoying the sun. Happy hour was between 12-6pm , good service at the bar and staff regularly cleaned the tables and collected glasses from where we were sitting.

A good place to go for a cheap drink. £2.90 for a pint, limited to an extended happy hour so check the timings. Drink inside, in their inner courtyard garden or over the road overlooking the beach. Good free WiFi too.

We were recommended this Hotel as it has a Happy Hour between 12 - 6 p.m. Everytime I went to the bar, the short, slim, dark haired man didn't even greet me, never said thank you or indeed speak at all! I thought he was a working dummy! Next time I come here I'll bring a voice box and a smile!

Approximately 50 of us on a short break together. We didn't know what to expect as this is only a 2 Star Hotel. What a lovely surprise we had. The Hotel is spotless - The Bedrooms are cleaned and fresh towels every day. The Bathroom was a good size with a shower over bath. There was always plenty of hot water and no problems with having a shower or bath whenever you wanted. The Hotel is very well maintained and well decorated. The only thing that needs to be done is it needs new windows. A lot of the windows are the old metal Crittal windows and tend to be draughty, this is the only fault I could find. From when we arrived to when we left all the staff were brilliant. Our waiters and waitresses were fabulous, on our table we had a lovely young waitress Lucy. Lucy could not do enough for us and made our stay there wonderful. The Hotel has a real character who will give guided tours his name is Hubert and he was brilliant. The food was fantastic , not a bad meal in sight. There were two coachloads of people staying and we all had meals at same time. Our food was always hot ( except cold meals ) and excellent. The Hotel put on entertainment most nights and this was very good. This Hotel really deserves 3 Stars. We cannot thank everyone enough for everything that was done for us to make our stay lovely.

The clifftop location with stunning views makes this small area a large attraction. Within a short walk across the road into the bar service was never an issue. Special offers on beer and wine for residents and non residents from 12.00 noon until 18.00pm made this our daily trip after spending time in and around Tenby. We also had lunchtime snacks which were both fresh and well priced.

We were on a stag do and came upon this place selling loads of cheap alcohol inside and where we could happily consume on a plot of land across the road from its reception/public bar. It was an extremely hot, sunny weekend and the beer was flowing. Walking through its front doors, many hotel residents (mostly of senior age) were alighting/embarking on coaches either just arriving or waiting to go. It was a pain fetching our pints of beer through all the suitcases strewn everywhere but at least it was worth it to sit in a private patio garden overlooking South beach across to Caldey island and getting a sun tan. Be aware...The tables are tacky and wobbly and many a pint was spilled with broken glass everywhere but the miserable staff were quick to come out with broom and dust pan to clear up the glass, and were willing to grab our money for replacement beers.

Well it's like s trip back to my childhood in the 1970's.. the decor hasn't changed since then either but very clean. We were looking for somewhere for lunch and booked last minute here... we were not staying here. £8.50 adult £4.95 child. Three choices of meat... as a carvery roast and new potatoes, peas, cauli cheese, red cabbage, yorkies, carrots and proper meat juice gravy... plenty of food.... puddings £2.95... pineapple upside down, fruit salad very traditional again but very tasty. Added bonus it's happy hour 12pm-6pm at £2.50 a pint.. lovely glass balcony across the road great views

A morning walk along the expanse of Tenby Beach at low tide is a wonderfully peaceful and calming experience, giving the most amazing views of the sea on one side and the cliff-side town of Tenby on the other. Looking up at those cliffs, we noticed a charming patio, seemingly teetering on the edge. Little did we know that we’d end up spending a luxuriously lazy afternoon soaking in the cool Welsh sun whilst enjoying a few bevvies on that very patio as the high tide washed up on the same beach we’d walked on that morning (a concept that never ceases to fill me with wonder).Though we weren’t staying at The Clarence House Hotel, the patio is open to the public for much of the day and is a welcome respite after days of fast paced travel and intense exploration. Do they serve food? Don’t know. Don’t care. Just sit back, drink up, and let the sea breeze whisk away every care you thought you had…

Today we visited Tenby and popped into The Clarence hotel after seeing the sign outside saying All Welcome - obviously not! When we entered the bar area was busy and we queued patiently. When we got to the bar we asked for four coffees only to be barked at by the middle aged bearded barman he couldn't serve us at the moment we would have to wait as a bowls club in. We stepped aside waiting to be served when a local man approached ( we presume as they acknowledge each other) and he immediately served him alcohol. It was not only us that noticed another customer even asked if he had just got out of bed. When we again asked for coffee he shouted for another member of staff to get them. Ignore the sign and walk on buy Tenby has so much more to offer than this rude barman.
