We were passing and decided to go for a meal as we had never been before, the food was of a very poor standard, we ordered a vegetable curry which could only be described as being a curried bag of frozen vegetables. The rest of the food was also poor and of a low standard. The service however was good.

Not that there's a lot of competition, but this is easily the most tasty curry house in the valley or those around. Flavours are excellent & complex, its not your bland fayre where its all coloured slop & everything tastes the same & meat is good quality & cooked to perfection, not tough & chewy like it can be in other places. service is extremely friendly & welcoming. Menu could be a little clearer (eg that karahi & kadhai are actually the same thing as I ended up ordering 2 dishes with identical sauces). I would love it if they had a few more vegetable dishes as I eat a low carb diet so avoid rice or chips so it's good to have some other options on the side eg broccoli or aubergine bhaji (though they did make the aloo gobi potatoe-less at my request). My husband had the jalfrezi & garlic naan which he was very impressed with. They do need to sort out their telephone issue though or sort out an online order system as we've never had a smooth order yet, it always breaks up! Still, at least the food is consistently good on the whole so it's worth persevering with it (we only once had an experience that was bland once when we went in person mid week & they did say they had a new chef)

If I could give no stars I would. What a truly awful place. Wife booked a table for two for my birthday, wish she hadn't bothered. We walked in and were shown to our table. The place was full of young lads all having a " good time" which I have no issues with what so ever but not the atmosphere you want if you're having a meal. Was prepared to put up with the noise so ordered poppadoms which arrived stone cold ,dripping with oil and stale with no plates. Not a great start. Wife went outside to the smoking area which is next to the kitchen and said the kitchen looked filthy and didn't want to eat there. Having looked at the menu while she was having a cigarette I couldn't find anything that really took my fancy anyway so we paid for our drinks and left, went home and ordered a takeaway. Got to say the waitress/ barmaid was lovely and rushed off her feet. Be aware this is not what I'd call a restaurant, its a public bar that serves food. Never again.

With trip advisor you would think they would say truth with rating. Hope they acknowledge this for their ratings as night totally spoilt. Booked for husband birthday didn't eat starter poppadoms cold dripping in oil with no plates to eat off. Never had an expierence like this ever! Left starter uneaten. Never again after trying to eat locally. So sorry for awful time i gave my husband. Maybe it should be bar not restaurant.

Visiting friends we chose to pick up a take away form here instead of the Chinese over the road for a change. a mistake. We spent £64 plus change between four of us and were offered no free drinks, poppadoms, salad or sauces as you would in Neath or Swansea on half that spend. Chicken Jalhfrezi and Lamb Merch Massalla both listed on the menu as hot with fresh chillis and both dishes had no chile in them at all, unless it was a chile oil as nothing was visible or could be tasted. The massala sauce was nice but very tomatoey. naan bread (plain) and Keema were good but the keema was stuffed with finely cut meat rather than mince. Quite odd. Chicken Kadmai was good but we asked for Tikka'd chicken instead of plain breast and this was not done. No veg side dishes on the menu so we had to order veggie mains. Tahdka Dahl was quite good but low on garlic and the Paneer with peppers was bland. All in all a disappointing meal. Did I complain or take it back? No. Because it was a 45 minute wait for the pick up which was a 15 minute drive away so it would have been another hour to get our meal corrected, not worth it. we will not be returning.

We ordered a delivery as we were staying locally while on holiday. It took a while fro the driver to find us, but absolutely worth the wait. Great poppadums, starters, excellent main courses (had the butter chicken, chicken jalfrezi, tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and prawn patia) and naans were just right. We’ll be going again later this week! Definitely recommended

Came here with colleagues and the store Manager of Skopes, McArthur Glenn, Bridgend having been told by him there would be many others from local mens’ retail stores up McArthur Glenn. Wouldn’t have gone if I’d have known beforehand there would only be four of us. Loved the food but the evening was ruined when my Manager told me and my young colleague he had been searching the “LinkedIn Skopes website for fit birds” which we both thought highly inappropriate and she found “Creepy”. After the amazing food and the fantastic hospitality from the owner I sent a Thank you card to say how grateful I was to him. I was more than disappointed to later discover my Manager, who was happy to accept the host’s generosity had posted “Get rid of all immigrants” on his Facebook page in 2010 which he left there for ten years. Manager used to call women “Birds” and male customers who returned goods or else didn’t buy anything “P****s”. My night was ruined by having to sit next to such a highly disrespectful individual who came to work after his ex employer’s Christmas party and spent most of his shift sleeping off his hangover in the storeroom and vomiting! The restaurant offered excellent quality food at a very reasonable price and the owner could not have been more accommodating. I would visit this restaurant again however I have unfortunate memories of my first time there due to the rather repugnant person it was my misfortune to sit next to.
