Off the Hook in Redcar and Cleveland

Went here for the first time since been taking over ordered 2x donner kebabs 1x with chips 1x with salad £5.99 each with garlic on and 1x tub of small chilli sauce to be charged almost £17.00 kebab meat was just pure salt and grease was more like a fatty burger garlic sauce was cheap and had a horrible after taste needed up with 2x large garlics and 2x small? And was charged for them even though asked for it on after she repeated it back to us then whispered to a colleague I’ve gave them tubs when ordering the shop phone wrong and we got cut off while she let the person on the phone know how much fish they had left and of other stuff which was rude then served 3 other customers before us the chilli was like water tasteless giving a 1 start for the chips and scraps as were actually nice just avoid the kebab meat and garlic if you can my partner wanted to take it back but I said no just leave it we won’t go again it was like it had been dipped in fat

Rang to put an order in to collect and told that they where closing early as no customer and on her own. Rang at 8:20 don't close till 9pm said I be 15 mins told no. Glad I didn't just turn up! Understand it being quite but just closing up whenever you want isn't great for business. Shame as was really looking forward to trying them.

I got Donner parmo large £14 plus £150 delivery, chips ok but parmo chicken was 1cm thick , this is unacceptable for any parmo but for £14 it's a disgrace, never again, it's a chicken parmo not bechamel sauce parmo !!!!!

Just had middle cod and chips from there, my go to place, always consistent with the frying. All the staff are friendly. I always phone my order ahead and collect. They've never let me down yet.

Wouldn't even give it a 1star...takes order for food 1hr 15mins later no food and it's shut for the night absolutely disgusting. Don't give this place your money

Terrible food, rude staff. Imagine taking over a successful and perfect fish shop with lovely staff and completely trashing it!? Tiny Parmos. No refund when they screw up. No salad with parmo. AVOID!!

Second time we have collected from this takeaway, second time it's cold when we got home, live 5 minutes away. How hard can it be to serve hot food ?

We support local products and its been a pleasure to see the shop undated, modern, clean and good service. Unfortunately the website order is hit and mis and the fish batter is inconsistent flat and not fluffy or crispy. The batter is just not acceptable and some days it’s great golden fully crispy then other flat rock hard concrete. The fish has been pretty good quality and the chips first class. It just needs consistency to pull back lost customers.

Very hit and miss,website works only sometimes leaving you in shop for a collection having to re do an order,hit and miss on the daft things like not enough chips or 1 portion of chips boiling n fresh n 2 stale cold lots.Cheese savourys are lovely tho. :/

First time there for fish and chips it WONT bethe last they were absolutely gorgeous whitewhite fish crispy batter just right well worth the money spotless clean shop ,absolutely delicious

Had lovely 5 star worthy fish and chips twice during the week ,but been twice on a Sunday tea time and had either really poor old tasting or stone cold chips
