Chilli Express in Redcar and Cleveland

Placed an order today and was very disappointed. Normally food is great but was horrible today and when I rang up to complain the man turned around and said he was there and cut the phone off on me . Definitely will not be ordering again

That was the worst meal I’ve ever had Nan bread doghy never been a madras no taste korma couldn’t even taste any coconut £20 down the pan never order from chilli express again

A few months ago, I worked at a chilly express shop where the owner, who is also the chef, treated me poorly. Despite my hard work, he never paid me. As a student, this has caused me a lot of stress and hardship. I tried calling him many times to resolve the issue, but he would always yell at me instead of addressing my concerns. I strongly urge customers to avoid this establishment.

Food quite nice, fast delivery, mint sauce luminous green which is off putting but tasted nice. Complimentary poppadoms a nice touch. Enjoyed the food.

Terrible food made me very unwell

Food never arrived rang the place said the order hadn’t been placed however the app said it had been delivered and I had a order number one man at the shop put the phone down several times avoid this place

Picked a selection of starters, very good quality,loved the bread with the mushroom /prawns puree different too most, more like a nan, excellent will definitely order again. 5*.

Food is expensive for what you actually get, £3 for 2 tiny samosa, £5 for pakora which I was expecting loads of little ones like have with other places and it was just 2 balls, mixed kebab I wouldn’t of bothered and there’s no much in it. I don’t think I’ll be going there again as is very pricy

Ordered a special kebab on Nan bread. Best kebab I’ve had in a while! Bread was perfect and the meat with onions was perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend for a kebab.. not your usual pizza shop kebab

Terrible delivery man was knocking on loads of different houses and said I don’t have your number it’s on this site. Restaurant forgot to add mint sauce to my starter. 0 rating

Gave this place the benefit of the doubt, its obviously been taken over because it used to be spot on. The keema curry was tasteless and looked like it had been cooked in water. What a waste!!

I ordered chicken tikka pasanda with pilau rice mint yogurt onion salad and garlic naan. Super quick delivery but it was teatime on a Monday. Garlic was non existent in naan bread and it was stodgy. Lovely moist chicken breast but sauce wasn’t creamy, it looked like lentil soup and was very bland. Mint yogurt resembled bright green gloop on a mr blobby show, however tasted a little better. On the whole was a disappointment unfortunately and not worth the tip. Sorry

i’ve just got home from angola where i was working for 33 days, i was eating slop for the month, only thing that kept me going was the thought of an Indian when i got home. wish i was back in Angola eating slop that’s how bad i thought this place was, not sure if its changed hands as it was shut for a few months, used to be unreal, the naan bread looked like a shop bought one, i can’t even tell you how disappointed i was.

Order was missing loads of things

We got mixed grill starter and sauces and popadoms and a curry + egg rice everything was 10/10 highly recommend

Curry was heated up in the microwave from frozen

Smaller portions, prices gone up, cheesy naan was under cooked, chicken Koria was mostly oily and not a lot of sauce! It wasn't too bad tasting but won't be returning in a hurry, this use to be a pretty good Indian!

Possibly the worst food we have had in a long time, neither of us eat it! Very watery curry with not much flavour and no spice, ordered chicken pakora got 2 big onion bhajis with a bit of chicken in them 🤷🏼‍♀️ naan bread was very undercooked and thick

Absolute rip off got the special mixed kebab this should of been advertised on the starter menu, weirdly had two small bits of doner meat which you’d find in your average pizza shop and I mean 2 bits, will never order from these crooks again absolutely shocking food

My Bhindi Bhaji (aubergines) consisted entirely of barely cooked potatoes, not an aubergine in sight, my vegetable korma had tinned carrots, peas and beans. Vibrant green colouring used on every dish. Very poor.

Normally very nice but last 3 meals have lacked flavour and very bland must be a new chef bring the old one back going to try a new Indian .Just tried another one large chicken pieces not cooked properly no taste at all never again

New chef food no good phone up asked why said the other chef had to go home

Something has changed recently at chillies express, your getting less and something is missing from their ingredients as the curry don't taste like they used to :( shame as they were the best round here

Lovely food quick and friendly service. Some of the cartons were a bit squashed and we were unable to read the contents. But the food was lovely

First time ordered from here wouldn't change the rice in set meal even though other places do was only. 1.50 to change aswell but other than that was ok

Ordered food when it came part of the order was missing. Phoned them up and they said it will be 20 mins. 40 mins later phoned back and said they forgot so have to wait another 20 mins so the rest of the food was cold.

My partner has used this place for a long time but havent a clue what's happened to it,his curry and things came over half hour ago they hadnt brought the rice so we ring up to be told the driver will bring it down still nothing over half hour later so curry the lot is cold so he rings again to be told the driver hasnt came back to the shop yet and to warm it up in the microwave there attuide is shocking will never order from the place again nearly an hour later still no rice

First time I've ordered from chilli express, I'm disappointed my garlic mushrooms tasted like they where out of date, and the beef in the madras was very chewy and fatty ...??

I dont know what has happened but I have used this place for years, previously as Rajas. I had never had anything like their special curry. Ordered by usual and it was just awful, nothing like original....to top it off chapattis were burnt and also sweaty...well done chef.....I phoned up to see whats gone wrong, apparently chef has left.....as to have I as a customer.

Korma sauce was amazing .kebab was same ..

Months ago we used to order 2 curries a week from this place and always loved them. But it has just gone down hill,, the flavour has gone if you ask for hot its just hot nothing else, it now has an awful semolina texture to both our dishes a lamb madras and a chicken celon these dishes dishes don't ever have this texture in India cuisine We have tried it again and again after thing's changed , no good any more . Awful sort you chef out

July 2019 Had a butter chicken tikka, onion rice and keema naan bread. The meat dish was the let down, the flavour wasn't very butter and the chicken was a frozen precooked type, had no flavour to it and ruined the dish. For almost £8 fresh tender chicken would have had me return in future

I opened the box and slid some food onto a plate, a huge puddle of grease flew onto my floor so I retrieved my dog to lick it up, he proceeded to have a slight cardiac arrest however my kiss brought him back to life xoxo

The meal was very nice the only complaint is that the Chicken Tikka Masala was to sweet for me. That was why i put 4 stars.

Staying in a hotel and they delivered my order to wrong person. Innocent mistake, but really unhelpful sorting out replacement and unpleasant over the phone to the receptionist. Don't want to eat food from here.

Pleasant food but some dishes very similar to others, prices are fair. Service good. Tikka kebab in a naan bread is a favourite
