Odyseas Fish Bar & Carvery in North Somerset

Popped in to grab a last minute sunday roast. Food was a bit dire to tell the truth. All pre produced and reheated - nothing fresh. A Huge plastic bag of yorkshire puddings on a table, no real “roast” potatoes, frozen and reheated pre produced roast potatoes. Pre produced (frozen?) veg was watery overcooked and sat in hot water producing sloppy cabbage mushy broccoli. Carrots similar - slushy - watery. The “roast potatoes” were soft and don’t appear to have seen any oven. They were hot and cooked through but were basically boiled potatoes with some kind of batter on. The roast was all a bit bland and tasteless. Portion sizes were good and food was well packaged and quickly served. Premises clean and basic - classic fish and chip shop, not a location for a sit down Pork was ok. Unsurprisingly it was all a bit bland and tasteless.

Ordered cod and chips with curry sauce (£12.60) and really enjoyed it!! Porton was good, chips were proper and the curry sauce was thick. I'll be back :)

usually have the take away Sunday lunch which is amazing - best cauliflower cheese ! had fish and chips for first time and really nice.

Just spent over £20 here to have disgusting burnt tasting chips which most went in bin and the sausage and batter was dry and crispy with hardly any batter

incredible takeaway roast every time- and so perf for vegetarians! the cauliflower cheese is to die for and they always throw an extra yorkshire on! we had our christmas dinner takeaway from there a few years ago and have loved it ever since, such a hidden gem!

Let me start off by saying that this is not your local pub and carvery sunday lunch. This is a quick, convenient and reasonably priced carvery dinner. You will get a cooked from frozen yorkshire pud, premade roast potatoes, started in the oven and crisped up in the chip fryers, a huge chunk of meat, veg and cauliflower cheese, liberally topped with gravy from granules. The main thing is, the food tasted good. If you come in about the time I did, you may find the meat a tad dry. That's just the way it goes with hot lamps. I got through my plate, left full, happy and well satisfied. If you go for the beef option, you're paying a tenner for probably 1000 calories worth of food. You can't complain. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only thing I could see being improved is the rather spartan interior decor

Absolutely fantastic food which is cooked fresh to order. They also do a roast carvery dinners with various meats which is delicious too. Certainly worth a visit to this establishment if you’re in the Weston S mare area. Reasonable prices too. Highly recommend

Came in for carvery best in Weston-super-Mare came down from Wiltshire just to get one

Good chip shop. Use it when visiting Western. Should have customer toilet though

What an absolute hidden Gem !!! We accidentally stumbled across this place. Was looking for fish and chip but ended up having a roast turkey and roast pork carvery. Absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend. We shall be back even though we live 2.5hrs away .

Great little fish and chip shop. Friendly staff. Very quick service and great burger, Sausages, fish and chips. They do Sunday roast food everyday aswell but that's not my bag, so not sampled that to comment.

The staff and how they were with me was disgusting because I had a service dog with me I was asked to leave I showed them all the photographic identification to show them she was a service dog and they still refused me access and was quite rude about it I also pointed out on the badge where it is stated that it is illegal by law to refuse access for a service dog and they were still very rude and refused access I think it’s disgusting and wrong that they think it’s ok to do this to people who depend on service dogs to be independent

Picked up a Sunday carvery have to say vegetables were beautifully cooked. Well done we will be back.

Great carvery on a Sunday not the cheapest but good enough. Deep fried roast potatoes very off putting. Couldn't fault the rest.

Our usual fish & chip shop was shut so decided to check out this place tonight. I was not let down as the food was delicious! All freshly cooked and it wasn’t greasy. The portions were a decent size so good value for money and lovely staff. If I could say one bad point it would be the polystyrene take out containers as they made the batter sweat and go soggy a little.

Didn't get a roast at Xmas so treated myself to a take away Large roast turkeyeal n home made apple crumble, it was bangin, turkey was moist n gravey was proper thick, v happy customer! 👌

I went in today had food which cost £40 the staff was very rude and the food was rubbish all they was worried about was getting the money I gave it back to him he wouldn’t exchange it or heat it up he said this only happens once now and again it was just really disgraceful

Worst fish and chips ive ever had , staff told me not to come again. Chips had been refried a few times, very dry. Cod was not cod, frozen cheap fish. Best part was mushy peas. Absolutely disgusting. Stay away. Would never go again even if food was free. Left over 80% of this disgusting so called meal. Staff very abusive when you tell them how bad food is. Never seen them cook anything as was sat at a table.

First time at odyseas, we ate in and I had a turkey carvery at £9.50 and the other half had a large mixed pork, turkey and beef carvery for 10.80 and it was absolutely delicious!! Even better we were just a few yards away from our b and b!! Will definitely be going there again next time we visit weston

Fantastic place. It's such good value if you get a roast - Fresh roast meat every day, choice of veg, sides and gravy.. Would cost a fortune to buy it all yourself and lots of time to make it as well. This way you get a full roast without waste and it's immediate as well! It's always really yummy!! Their chips are amazing as well 😋 Really nice kind place as well - The service is always welcoming and accommodating if you want to mix meat etc. for example. Highly recommended 👌

Buy a roast here on a regular basis. Most annoying thing is everytime I order pork roast, I ask for crackling they say yes sir and nearly always dont put any in . One of the best things about pork roast is the crackling. Learn the culture and about English food, If your going to serve it. So annoying when you look forward to something and it's not there.

Had fish n chips, chicken nuggets. Everything was cooked fresh, so tasty. I've already recommended it to my daughter who's coming in a few weeks. Guys were so nice, friendly.

( Wish I had read the reviews about the chips before I parted with my hard earned money !! ) Had a portion of chips and might need a trip to the dentist because they were that hard, but never mind I didn’t have to throw many away as there wasn’t that many in the tray anyway for £2.40 won’t be going back !

Easy to order off website and very friendly and efficient team - roasts are very good meat always tender - we’ve never been disappointed. Top tip ask for your gravy in a pot as you can put the right amount on.

Don't be fooled, this place looks like your average fish & chip take away. BUT they serve a delicious carvery with absolutely amazing cauliflower cheese. Beats most chain carvey places for sure.

Fish was OK. Half of my chips were tough, probably re-cooked. I have paid the same price for PERFECT fish & chips (only ate here because I was hungry!). There was no wearing of face mask or hair net whilst cooking the food. Nobody asked if 'everything was ok'. Lucky I didn't have the "carvery", as this was an insult to good-old fashioned English food. MUST TRY HARDER, if you want more trade. 🤮👎

Nice piece of fish, but chips were dry, looked like they were warmed up from earlier in the day.

if you fancy a takeaway sunday lunch...then look no further. Always a great lunch, not short on portions size. .decent veg selection..and the choice of meat is to die for. keep it up guys😉👍

On a rainy night in WSM when everywhere seemed closed the bright lights drew us in and whilst the carvery looked good the freshly cooked fish and chips was a winner

Very disappointed, online it says that they are open but they are not, don't know how they get any customers is beyond me, I think it is very apauling that they say one thing on the internet and then another thing at the store. It is very surprising to me how they even have any loyal customers.

Had a great fish and chips here when everywhere on the seafront had shut. Monster portions of curry sauce and mushy peas.

Worst chips ever, they were obviously chips that had been there for most of the day and just re fried we wouldn't of minded but it was expensive also £13.50 for small pork bap n small chips + 5 chicken bites n chips plus 2 cans of pop

Nice food ... shame about the chap serving it and breathing all over my food during a pandemic . Face masks are meant to cover your nose! I asked him to cover his nose which he did , then Promptly pulled it down again as i left

I'd give zero if able too. Large pork roast, half pork so dry it was hard . Asked for crackling got soggy hairy piece of fat, potatoes reheated so many times, they were hard and to top it off. Stuffing ball reheated so many times it was dark brown all the way through, rock hard and tasted burnt. I wouldn't give to my dog it was that bad, so went in the bin. 0 out of 10. Wasted £7.95.

Amazing food, plenty off it . The caravery was lovely. Beef just fell apart in my mouth. And plenty of it . Especially how cheap it was . They dont hold back on the portion size. And for afters we had there very home made apple crumble with custard. The best apple crumble I have ever had. Would most definitely recommend this place to anyone
