Lovely place to meet friends and family for dinner. Food was good quality. Service was slow.

We held a surprise party for my parents 80th birthday at The Priory for 30+ people. Everything was outstanding .. the food was delicious, the team (BiG thank you to Liam, Lillie, Jess, Sarah and Sally) was amazing - everyone went out of their way to make sure we all had what we needed! I can’t say enough great things about our fantastic dinner there…. We will be back!

Me and my partner had a lovely meal here. Simon was very attentive,and made sure we have everything we needed.to the point I didn't even have to ask for a napkin. He just popped up with one as I needed it lol. Great night and a decent price. We will be back.

Visited here for Mother’s Day lunch, had a 3 course menu to choose from, first impression of the restaurant were elegant, classy, country pub settings with an extra sprinkle. Had 3 course meal for around £30 mark. Starter - Devon crab cake, expecting alot with this dish and I was very surprised, nice depth of flavour plenty of crab meat filling, and perfect lemon mayo to cut through with acidity to balance the dish. I also had Scallop, King Prawn & Crab Coquille - but no mash topping was being served with this dish, scallops were nice, small bite sized pieces but with plenty of flavour. Both starters were solid and how starters should be! Mains - had beef roast with side of mac and cheese. Very good sized portion with plenty of beef, and trimmings, beef was succulent, soft with depths of flavour, greens were buttery, seasoned well, carrots were soft yet had a slight bite to them but with lots of flavour. My only issue with this dish was roast potatoes and the gravy, potatoes lacked any roasting imo, think they were shown where the oven is but not put in, more of a boiled potato sadly, not fluffy or crispy and lacked any flavour at all. And the gravy, sadly a bitter gravy it accompanied the dish and did not spoil the plate, but certainly missed any real flavour, no depth to the gravy or shine, a knob of butter and some seasoning would of helped, but sadly this let the dish down. Dessert - lemon tart, now this was a palette cleanser, very sharp, super lemon and soft nice dessert to end a nice meal. Overall I would say the dinner and service was solid and certainly did not disappoint for Mother’s Day. Whole family enjoyed it and we all pretty much cleared the plates. For the price point of around £30 for 3 course I would recommend it! Overall I would rate this visit 8/10 and would visit again.

Came with friends for lunch. Great place for a quiet drink and a bite to eat. Great catching up with friends I’d not seen in a long time. Pub had a great atmosphere and our server, Simon, couldn’t do more for us. Food was tasty as well, especially the lamb skewer. Will be returning

Lovely meal out at the Priory today. Quality of food and service never fails. They cater well for those who are gluten free. Waitress Sarah was bright and cheerful. Husband especially liked his dessert.

Martha and Liam are our absolute favourites. Always willing to go above and beyond and make us feel welcome everytime we come. there are lots of food options which always come fresh and great quality. Definitely recommend a visit!

Simon was our waiter and he was fantastic. There were 13 of us for Sunday lunch, with a few food intolerances or preferences. When any issues arose Simon was quick to put them right and delivered with a smile.

I went last week to this lovely pub which felt like home. Food was great but what made it better was the great service we got from Lillie (I hope I spelt it right). She couldn't do enough for us and was very good at making recommendations, all with a big smile. We will definitely be back.

Simon was such a cheerful and chatty guy! The food we had was served in huge portions and was incredibly tasty. And oh my, the cheesecake was massive and super creamy! We honestly left feeling completely stuffed and happy. We can’t wait to come back! You have to check this place out—you won’t be disappointed!

Another very good meal at the Priory. Very hard to fault this pub. Pork belly and Sea Bass were both sensational.

Nice pub just off the motorway and a much better alternative than the nearby Gordano services

Super service...Alfie was very polite and attentive and we both commented at the time on his excellent service. Meal was great and would be 5 stars apart from the fact it missed some of the components listed on the menu, which was a shame. Quiet night as it was a Monday but still had good patronage. Better service and seating than I've had previously. All in all a great meal and lovely place for an evening.

First time, and won't be the last, really lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, Simon in particular ensured our allergies and requests were taken care of with no bother and food was so lovely, we took the leftovers home to enjoy again!

What can I say from booking the pub for lunch there was 26 of us....the food was absolutely amazing and so was the staff...great place to eat and celebrate special times.. Exceptional service from Simon & delicious food.

Come here pretty much daily for a guiness after work, served by Simon and Sarah today and they were excellent. All the staff are always friendly and it's just a nice place to be, especially after a long day at work.

Food was very good. Unfortunately, the food was delivered first, then gravy if the meal required it and then, lastly, the crockery would arrive. The crockery should have been on the table to start with. Please get your act together!

Lovely meal. Arrived at 3pm after what had been a very busy lunchtime. Simon was very friendly and chatty. Conjured up a pudding for me when they didn't have what I wanted. Excellent service.

Brilliant venue for a large group of us (we were 12 including adults and children). Food was fantastic with wide range of choices including catering for Gluten and Dairy Free. Great portion sizes and all delicious. But what topped it all was the brilliant service from Jess who was super friendly and welcoming and totally on top of everything - all our food arrived promptly and at the same time and nothing was too much trouble for her.

We have been here twice now for winter family gatherings of all ages and both times it has been a lovely experience. Its warm, cosy and very welcoming, and tables are very thoughtfully arranged across different areas. There is a lovely selection of food which everyone in our groups enjoyed. (I am also gluten and dairy intolerant and was very well looked after and reassured by their care and knowledge and had plenty of choice.) The service was also fantastic, right from booking, speaking to the manager in person beforehand about our larger group booking, and when we were there. All staff were extremely helpful, thoughtful and everything was managed really well. Jess especially was absolutely fab at our larger family group visit.

Great food, location and service

10 of us visited today. booked 12 months ago. we were advised upon arriving that they were short-staffed due to the severe fog. This did not detract from the service we received . Both food and service excellent hot and served with minimum wait. we were assigned a waiter called Simon who was excellent throughout. Engaged with the youngest member of our family who had been unwell for a few weeks. Simon made him smile throughout the meal. Thank you Simon we will be returning.

11 of us went for a Sunday meal to celebrate mother in laws birthday. Food was so tasty. HOWEVER 3 of the guests who all had the roast dinner, started being sick the next day. All off work and was obviously food poisoning. The 3 guests don’t live at the same house- we met at the meal, they had the same food and then we left. Clearly it was from the pub but somehow the investigation said it wasn’t. Basically impossible not to be. So disappointing. Spent over £350 and 3 people are ill and no apologies! Won’t be going again.

We had a wonderful experience for our family Christmas meal. The dining area was warm and welcoming. The crackers were a big hit with the children. We were a party of 7 adults and 8 children with ages from 7 - 17. Our server Simon was so attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed the festive menu, between us having several of the meals. Simon was very knowledgeable about the dishes and particularly great with the children. Thank you for making our evening special.

Food was excellent, they were short staffed so one poor lady was covering multiple bases. Had asked for a table in the dining area, but not a massive issue being in the bar area aside from some whiny dogs.
