This is, without a doubt, one of the best chippys in Sheffield. The fish is always fantastic and the "night special" (fish, chips and a sauce) here is a bargain, especially with how much fish is nowadays. The staff are lovely and will quickly remember your "usual", which is a nice touch. Highly recommend you give it a go.

Consistently good fish and chips at reasonable prices with good service, probably the best in the area IMHO.

Fantastic fish and chip shop I dropped a pie and chips tired after football training infront of everyone all over my lap in their shop they cleaned it and gave me a new one for fresh was so kind amazing service and delicious food will definitely be coming back

I have been back several times and it has paid off. Lovely fish and chips with friendly service. I fear a bit of an off day. Everybody raves about Oceana and I have had food from here before. This time the food was warm rather than hot. It will not stop me going back as the fish and chips were nicely cooked.

First time visit today after many recommendations and wasn't disappointed..First impressions when walking in was the cleanliness and then the girl who took the order was very polite and friendly..then on to the food we ordered 2 small cod and a small chips and a fishcake and chips we were not disappointed the food was piping hot and tasted amazing.we will be going back again..all the positive reviews are fully justified.

After a 5 HR drive back home I called in for some fish and chips dinner with my mom she loved them the best she's ever had was her words & I agree they were delicious crispy battered white fish thick cut chips & mushy peas bob on 5*

I did not appreciate the rudeness of the pregnant lady, yeah morrisons may charge 60p for a bag, but the rudeness was not necessary and trying to embarrass me, you didn't do that to the old man who said the same, your food is expensive that should cover the costs for the cheap bags half the size and thin than morrisons, if I was to do my shopping with that bag it would struggle to hold half of what a morrisons one would. Anyway you have list my custom, I shall not be coming anymore, I will go up walked as I previously did.

I like the the fish and chips here but I was charged £5.50 for large sausage and small chips! That’s outrageous!! It wasn’t even the box meal as my daughter won’t eat a side. I’ll think twice about going here again.

They just do fish and chips properly. There's always a compromise when you take fried food home and don't eat or straight away, but starting from very well cooked food definitely helps things. Friendly staff, good food, what more can you ask for?

I always use this fish and chip shop and love the food, I was I here tonight and whilst waiting for my order to be ready I witnessed what must be the manager a woman treating one of her staff in a very unprofessional manner in front of a shop full of customer! She belittled this young man I could feel the embarrassment myself that he was feeling and this was disgusting to witness. I can't get over how someone could speak to someone like that and think it is acceptable. Knowing the young boy was not going to stick up for himself. So I will not be using this chip shop again after what I have witnessed. What I witnessed was bullying. I hope that young boy finds the strength to either stand up for himself or leave and work for an employer that shows him some respect!

It's not very often that I threw away a bag of chips and then go to a different chip shop to buy chips again. I did this tonight. The portion was massive but unfortunately almost tasteless.

Absolutely disgusting attitude from staff!! politely asked for a box for a takeout and got verbally abused from two members of staff and subsequently barred after accusing me of complaining on several occasions…. I have no idea what he was talking about and can only assume it was mistaken identity!!!! Several of the customers spoke to me after and agreed he was totally out of order. I don’t go to my local chip shop to be embarrassed by a member of staff for no reason whatsoever. Pathetic.

A family run business serving great food and always polite and helpful and always up for a chat to keep you smiling whilst waiting for your food being prepared . Would highly recommend a visit for your fish and chips or whatever you fancy.

I've heard good things about Oceana from people I know who live in Hillsborough. I went in at 7pm on a Saturday night, they ran out of fish and looked to be winding down to close despite the closing time being 8pm. Chips were undercooked and tasteless, I left over half the portion of chips despite being hungry. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

Lovely chippy. Prices not too bad in this day but not the best but you get what you pay for and the quality and quantity are spot on. They do great deals too if you fancy. We'll worth a visit.

Always good fish, chips are always slightly undercooked though. Alright. Update. Came back today (September.) really bad fish. Tasted like it had been refried from the week before. Batter hard yet somehow chewy. And smelled old. Chips OK. Gutted, time to find somewhere else.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, and its a real shame I have to leave one for Oceana. Not been to Oceana since the beginning of June, but normally a regular customer (pretty much every Friday normally). I was looking forward to fish and chips tonight, so when I got home and opened the boxes I was very very disappointed, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The Night Specials (£6.50 a pop I think they are now) they do used to be a box rammed full with chips and a decent sized fish (including a pot of peas/gravy/beans whatever). The portions sizes I got today (Fri 8th) were laughable. Fish size decreased quite a bit (Looks like they are halving them now), and a very stingy portion of chips. The box was not full of chips like it normally is/was. Note that the price has recently gone up as well for these Night Specials, so to say I was a bit miffed is an understatement. Its a real shame as the food was, as per usual, very nice indeed. My advice to the management, put your prices up, and then people can decide if they want to pay the increase or not. DO NOT try and force in stealth price rises with laughable and insulting reduced potion sizes. Sadly, they have now lost me as a customer, as I will not be returning ever again. That only happens to me once, then I make sure it never happens again. FAO - Oceana management - a chippy down the road from you did the same some years ago (stingy portions, halved the fish etc.), and guess what, they were out of business within 6 months. My advice, stop it, or you will just push more customers away. Its a real shame as they were one of the best chippies in the area as well. Bad business move Oceana. I just spent over £25.00 today, but that's the last money you will be getting from me.

Really professional chippy done right and it's popularity reflects that. Chips could do with another minute in the fryer but the food is good.the staff are lovely and it's run very well. Looks clean and that's a big thing in chipy's.

Best chippy in Sheffield. As a boy from the South of the city I always championed Woodseats and Poseidon, they don't hold a candle to this place. Lunch time special goes down a treat.
