Stale bread on my chicken and avocado sandwich, so I sent it back. Second one was from the same loaf. Totally unacceptable standard from an uncaring kitchen. Definitely not recommended to anyone.

We had a day on the golf course (very nice if not a bit long) so seemed the sensible option to eat in the restaurant as our guests were booked in at the hotel for the night anyway. Surroundings very pleasant with a good selection of drinks (expect hotel prices$$$) the 2 bars do serve slightly different options so if you move around do not expect the same drinks in all. Our starters (4) took a good 20 mins to arrive but when they did were very nice, the mayo accompaniment for the squid was exceptional. The mains 2 rib-eye, 1 rump and a burger, were average at best with the exception of the burger. the rib-eyes were tasteless but cooked as requested the rump had " some taste" and looked overcooked but ended up OK. The burger we were informed was "spot on" overall i expected something a little bit special the reality did not meet my expectations (Oh and 300 pounds later)

Tienen que dar una mención a The Uppal Teijasvi. El servicio es impecable desde la primera vez que he estado en el hotel. Siempre recuerda el vino que me han pedido y la comida que me gusta, estoy aquí una vez cada pocas semanas y eso es muy buen servicio. Menú ha cambiado, pero el echo de la solla spatchcock pollo es una excelente alternativa.

La cortesía fizz era un toque agradable y la comida era encantador nuestro 2 comidas por la noche llegamos a unos 5 minutos aparte. El personal era extremadamente pidió disculpas. Hay una opción de buffet o menú. El desayuno era fabuloso! Una gran opción y una estación de tortillas - nunca he visto una de esas antes. Ojalá los rolling eran más rápido aunque tostadoras en la mañana cuando realmente no quieres frecuentar.

I stayed as part of a group booking for approx 15. We reserved a table for 7.30 and ordered off the menu- our mains actually arrived at 10.30. All steaks had to be returned to the kitchen as they had been served cold and the burgers had clearly been sitting for a while prior to service as they were as tough as old boots and inedible. This was an incredibly poor performance and would certainly not have a team meal here again.

The food was very good and they had a great selection of dishes. We dined as a part of dinner, bed and breakfast package and there was ample choice along with a hot station for sea food.

We visited the Oaks three times, for snacks and breakfast. The wood fired brisket of beef pizza was very nice and the breakfast was pleasant anf being buffet style you could help yourself to as much as you want but at £12 per head it was on the pricey side and wasn't head and shoulders above a Premier Inn or similar.

We had specific dietary requirements and Oaks' wonderful afternoon tea chefs catered for us in real style. We have been here twice for afternoon tea and both times they exceeded our expectations. We really appreciated them taking into consideration our requirements and we had a really special time celebrating our Dad's birthday & the other time just hanging out with the girls.

Ate at the restaurant while a guest at the hotel and in brief, I thought the portion sizes were very very small versus the price. The food, for the cost, wasn't anything special - my dessert was inedible. I had the salmon starter, which was a few small pieces of smoked samlmon and a about two new potatoes forming a 'potato salad'. My main was a pot cooked venison pie - pie was a lie, it was a pot with a top on it. Pudding was a malt panacotta which I think came from a glue factory. Service was dreadfully slow, some of my friends' dishes were over cooked, the bill was wrong and though two complimentary bottles of wine were included courtesy of difficulties encountered in the hotel, it wasn't enough to intoxicate out an expectation of good service. Tell Dominos your room number and get in something better.

We were staying in the Forest of Arden hotel so ate in this restaurant. The food was tasty and well presented. Service was excellent with friendly helpful staff. Six of us were dining and we all enjoyedthe food. 5 of us had á la carte and one had the buffet which had a very varied choice and catered for all options. Would not hesitate to eat here again when we are at the hotel.

Really great food despite being served buffet style. Couldn't fault it, and the live cooking was a nice touch.

We ate twice in this bar and the customer service was second to none. The prices aren't that cheap to be honest and some of the choices aren't VFM e.g. Flatbread but you are in a hotel I suppose. Lovely quiet ambiance which added to a great stay overall.

Food perefectly acceptable hotel standard. Staff very friendly. Sunday carvery was good value and enjoyyable. Meal Mon evening fine. Few if any alternatives nearby.

The Oaks is part of the Forest of Arden Hotel. I ate from the bar menu. My main was the burger, served with fries, which was extremely tasty. The bar does have a guest cask ale, which when I was there was St Austell's Tribute. Perfectly fine. The Oaks also serves breakfast, which for the most part is the standard buffet, but has the added attraction of cooked-while-you-wait omelettes and waffles. So an extra mark up for that.

The Oaks Restaurant is OK, the food average, the prices a little high, but the room lacks the ambience of a stylish restaurant (I prefer the relaxed atmosphere in the Zest Bar) but the Oaks Bar has great character, with a gas fire in the centre of the room making it a cosy place for a drink or two.

Good and convenient location inside the Marriott hotel. Good service and good food. Price on the high hand but i recommend this restaurant

Had dinner and breakfast here, whilst staying at Forest of Arden. The views are nice, in both the bar or resturaunt, particularly if sat by the window.We ordered a variety of meals over the weekend, where the food was tasty, well presented and the service was great. The staff, particularly Lolander was very welcoming, attentive and very helpful, offering service with a smile.

This place serves the best stake as far as i have tasted in London, Coventry, Birmingham and reading,

After a bit of a bad start with rhe online booking experience i.e. booked a tabke online for the Sunday, received confirnation etc inly to have rhe reservation cancelled due to the restaurant having a private party. Anyway i was contacted by phone, apologies all round a new booking a day early and a complimentary bottle of merlot eased the pain.Very good service, couple of noisy tables, excellent food and good value. Will definitely go back if in the area.

The food and the service in this restaurant were excellent. There was a good varied menu and it was reasonably priced.

Not sure where to begin on this one. We were a party of 5 - tired and weary after flying over from the US landing at 8 that morning, working the entire day. We were also a bit slap-happy. When we stated we didn't have a reservation the look we got was one of dis-belief. Apparently it would be difficult to seat us in the empty restaurant without a reservation. Keep in mind, the place never filled up so it is not like there were reservations for later our table would have impacted. Once seated, our server came over and he was fantastic. I wish I remembered his name - all I could remember was he was tall, dark hair and fairly young. Great guy with a lot of spirit. For a group of slap-happy business travelers, he made our evening. It is a shame though the food did not live up to his energy - instead it was more akin to the hostess - bland, boring and not worth the time or money. Three of us ordered off the menu and we all felt this way. Those that had the buffet said it was OK. We should have taken that route. It's a hotel restaurant so you have to temper your expectations. Thankfully our server made the entire experience worth it.

We had a table for ten, nothing was to much trouble the staff were very attentive & the food choice from the buffet was exceptional. a first class service.

The restaurant had good variety on the menu. We especially enjoyed the fish. The staff were were very friendly and and attentive

we stumbled accross this place a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, so decided to try it again while we were in the area. The food was ok but not exceptional. The view from the restraunt is still lovely but our steaks were over cooked and the guy in charge was rather surly barley speaking and did not crack a smile once. Nice food but overpriced

Great service from JD, great food comfortable surroundings and good selection of drinks it was a little cool to go outside but it looked like a place you could sit and enjoy an evening

Really lovely food -very slow service -apologetic staff but still, there was no improvement throughout our four-day stay.

We had two amazing dinners at the Oaks Bar and Grill and we can easily see why it is an award winning venue. Our first dinner was a la cart, and were both of our meals delicious, one of the dishes, a large, beautiful salmon filet, was prepared to our specification (i.e. seared). It was truly the best, and most generous piece salmon I’d ever eaten.Our second dinner was at the buffet, which offered a range of scrumptious salads, starters, sides, mains and desserts. If we lived in the area, we would be very happy, frequent diners.

A quick call to the Oak Bar and Grill at the Marriott Forest of Arden saved our evening!!! Very impressed that at 15 minutes notice the restaurant at the Marriott Forest of Arden went out of their way to accommodate a party of 4 on a busy Saturday evening. We explained that we had been let down by a nearby hotel where we had a long standing booking - upon arrival we were told that they had moved our booking to a table in the bar (they called it a suite but it was more like a pub dining room). The Oak Bar and Grill was very accommodating, the surrounding are pleasant and the staff very accommodating. We had the option of the a la carte menu or a 5 course buffet. Everyone in our party chose the buffet and we were not disappointed. The food was constantly being replenished and the selection was second to non and piping hot! which is always a bit hit and miss with buffets. The chef (Brett) was on hand to carve the meat and engaged in pleasant conversation with everyone. All in all a wonderful evening and would definitely recommend.

We ate here because we were staying at the hotel (forest of Arden marriott). Ut was quite expensive, but we thought it would be good. The a la carte menu was even more expensive so we opted for the buffet. The starters were fine. The dessrts wre really good. But the main courses were like school dinners! Even the selection was poor:Irish stew, faggots or pork steaks. My husband chose Irish stew, which I tasted. It lacked flavour. I chose faggots, which were ok. My father took the pork steaks, but did not finish them as they were tough. As it was a buffet, it was self service, but our plates were cleared quickly, and our wine was served quickly; so service was efficient.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that we hadn't booked a table, however I had rang that very morning & made the reservation myself. They found us a table, we asked for a wine list and were left to make our choices. After 40 minutes not one member of staff came over to ask if we wanted a drink let alone order our food. We tried several times to attract the attention of a waiter/waitress but it really felt like we were invisible. We ended up leaving without even having a drink. Very poor service!!

Wir waren nur zum Frühstück dort. Die Auswahl war vielfältig und reichlich. Eier werden nach Wunsch zubereitet. Servicepersonal sehr hilfreich und flink.

My daughter treated my wife and I to a three course meal at this restaurant. What a superb experience,first class food and service. How nice to find somewhere where you are given so much attention. I will be looking forward to my next visit. Thanks to all the staff in the restaurant for a most enjoyable evening.

Relaxing in big comfy chairs, with a good atmosphere. Bar not too over priced. Looking forward to going back.

rubbish food, terrible service, food in the bar was basic - some people around us sent their food back a few times. Staff moody and not interested in providing a good service or atmosphere

Bar was quite nice but let down by the fact that there was no real ale available. As this is the only growth sector in the beer industry it seems very strange. Restaurant was large and impersonal. Service was OK.

The staff were pleasant and efficent. The bar has various types of seating, sofas, chairs high stools and tables and outside seating with a view of part of the golf course.With most hotel bars the drinks are more expensive you wont get much change from a £10 for two drinks.

Great for a better standard of eating in a relaxed yet formal atmosphere. Great menu. But a couple of things missing like the waiter putting your napkin on your knee or pulling the chair out for you - little things like this. otherwise very nice

Food was absolutely gorgeous, service was very good, but a little time between courses would have been nice.

Wonderful place, great food, great staff. Well worth the visit! The breakfast is amazing with so many choices. They have someone ready to make your omelet at request. Really good place to enjoy a meal, morning or night.

Good food, good service. Well looked after even with a very busy restaurant. 2 or 3 course fixed price menu good value and quality. Recommend if staying in hotel.

Very nice food, staff made sure they knew what they were talking about and very helpful. If they didnt know, they asked, which there is nothing wrong in that.

If you need to be cheered up in a very warm welcoming atmosphere with good service then experience the Sunday Carvery at the Forest Of ArdenWe had a superb choice of food from the starters to the dessert. Our waitress Gemma was a local girl who obviously loves her job and made us feel very welcome as we had not been there for well over a year.The Staff are so refreshing and make you feel so special.I have really missed this place.....................

Got our orders mixed up, the food was ok when it came out. Good selection on the menu.Not one tat I would go out of the way for a meal but think they are relying on the 'trap' to gain customers staying at the hotel,We dined elsewhere on the second night.... Voted with our feet..

Ate in here for the two nights we stayed in the Forest of Arden hotel. The food was superb as was the service. Only real downside was the wine was a little expensive but overall a very good place to eat.

I have eaten in the restaurant a couple of times and the food is always delicious. I would recommend having all three courses if you can squeeze them in.

For a hotel restaurant the food was good and relatively well priced. The staff tried to be attentive but let themselves down by simple things - we ordered champagne but after the initial opening of the bottle and pouring, we had to pour our own. The same with the wine - both the red and the white were left with their screw tops on and we had to help ourselves.

We decided to try the restaurant as it is near by. Very good food, and attentive service. Like a lot of hotel restaurants it somewhat lacked atmosphere and was a little pricey.
