Fantastic food great staff who couldn't do enough for us 😀 brilliant xx

Lovely historic pub with great home cooked food. Portion sizes just right and the price was reasonable. The waiting staff need to be a bit more aware of the room. I had to tell them we were ready for dessert, rather than them noticing the empty plates. Definitely worth a visit, though, and we will be back.

Second to none. Everything about this place is special from the moment you walk through the door. The staff are the most polite I have ever come across. The food was out of this world. Just can’t recommend high enough. We all had the gammon and the fruit waffle with ice cream for desert. So so so yummy.

A lovely little country pub hidden off the main road which serves very good lunchtime fayre. I had liver and onions which was very good.

My dish (mixed grill) was mainly fantastic, but my partner’s hunters chicken was very bland. Both our peas were raw and inedible. The drinks were reasonably priced. It is in the middle of nowhere but the scenery is lovely and would be fab for lunch outside.

Absolutely lovely place with impeccable service and fresh food. Everything is clean, bright, and lovely decor. There is a large outdoor space with views of the surrounding countryside. Toilets are clean, well-kept and well-stocked. Accessibility - level access, no steps, plenty of space for a wheelchair/pushchair to manoeuvre.

The sky was blue and the sun out for a brief spell today, leading to us seeking a taste of Summer! The new light bites menu at the lovely Cottage Inn hit the spot with a selection of tasty options including bloomer sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, baked Camembert, butchers pork pie and a wide selection of tempting treats. We particularly enjoyed the Cottage Inn Ploughman’s. The Italian chunky chips with truffle oil, Parmesan and Rosemary were also very tasty! Delicious food served by lovely friendly staff! Definitely a first taste of Summer!

Lovely little pub. Went at lunch time so limited menu. The food was lovely and staff very welcoming. The steak, caramelised onion and blue cheese pizza was amazing. Good value for money.

Lovely little pub situated in open country side. Just returned from Mothers Day meal feeling very deflated and disappointed. Food was bland, warm . Gravy like dish water . Supplement of you select trio of meats , Supplement of 4.00 for Lamb.Did not stay for dessert Previous visits there food has always been lovely .

Went for Sunday lunch excellent meal I don't like veg so I had extra pots they was very accomodating to my request. All staff was very friendly bubbly enjoyed my time there every one should give it a try.

We went for Sunday lunch and after reading other reviews were expecting a lovely home cooked Sunday dinner. We were very disappointed. The meal was tasteless. Not much meat. Hard uncooked roast potatoes some were black inside. Cheap bought Yorkshire puddings and vegetables that looked as though they were from a packet out of the freezer. Carrots , peas and beans all mixed together. No variety of veg . Gravy no flavour . Staff friendly but would not recommend Sunday lunch!

We hoped it had improved so popped in for a drink..the usual pleasant unprofessional service...stood at bar..lady was in her phone so we were ignored. Nice fireplace..no fire. No atmosphere at all. It could be lovely but is just far from it. Oh well.

Not a good night. The service was very very slow. Several dishes were sold out, even though we arrived relatively early at 7 pm. My partner's sea bass was dry and inedible. Her second choice, white bait, was overcooked. My choice came without 2 of the published sides. I asked if I could order some garden peas instead. When the peas arrived they were like bullets. The chef came out to apologise and offered us a free drink which helped. However, I have to say the quality of the food was very disappointing.

What a gem! A pub selected purely by chance for an evening meal out, turned out to be an amazing discovery for us. Such friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere made all the more so by the classic interior. A simple menu without endless choices, and a full to bursting specials board didn't make easy to choose courses, but choose we did. With starters well presented and flavourful provided by knowledgeable staff who talked us through the specials for the mains which arrived with perfect timing. Succulent fall off the bone lamb shank, a pie to die for and some boar sausages were guzzled in almost silence, food too good to interrupt! With rumbling pudding bellies, dessert arrived, to eyes brimming with joyful tears, stuffed apple pie, ice creams of all manner of flavours, lemon meringue and fudgey chocolate cake rounded of a most memorable of evenings. So good, our return visit was booked on the way out!œ

On first view into bar it was great to see a good choice of ales. I wanted the ploughman’s the spotted dick but both unavailable, but settled on roast of the day and bread/butter pudding and it was lovely ! We have found a lot of pubs don’t have “full” menus The Tribute ale made up for it all The four of us enjoyed our visit and will return

Great sunday lunch, very tasty 3 courses

Nice pub in the middle of nowhere who have a niche for good honest food and appear to cater to the older generation of a lunchtime. Good 2 and 3 course offering at very reasonable price. We all had farmhouse pate to start served with toast followed by 2 roast beef dinners (no Yorkshire puds :-( ) and a liver and onions. All very good and couldn't manage a dessert Will go back to try other meals and a pudding as they sounded good and book next time just in case

My wife and I stopped for dinner on the way home from a day trip on the off chance we could get a table and we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted and served by Kellie who was really lovely and helped us with all our questions. We both had the fillet steak and it was one of the best I’ve had for a long time, cooked to perfection. All food was cooked perfectly and came out in a timely manner even though the restaurant was fairly busy. All staff pleasant and friendly. I don’t usually do reviews but this needed a mention as it was fabulous. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

What a superb breakfast, 11 of us went and we were all served a brilliant breakfast by very attentive staff. A go to place in a clean and decorative environment. Must for a brekky treat.

Lovely evening watching the Bedworth Brass Band. The festive light bites were lovely. We had the pigs in blankets baguette and turkey and stuffing baguette with a side of roast potatoes.

Called in tonight and had the pie of the week and cherry pie dessert. Absolutely brilliant. Service was first class. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu. Highly recommended.

We were recommended this restaurant and left very disappointed. Food was very bland. The chef has no idea on seasoning. The soup had to be drenched it in salt and pepper. Brie and mango parcels were soggy and very oily. Left pools of oil on the plate. The chili burrito was very bland and lacked any real flavour. Fish was ok but again oily. Now the chips deserve a special mention. Cheap frozen and oily. Awful. Squeeze them and oil all over your fingers. Staff were lovely though. But the place needs a revamp. I get that it's a cottage but it's too old and out dated. One to miss. Caters to an older clientele that knows no better.

Really disappointed with our food on Sunday 19th November. Always been really pleased with food, but yesterday apart from a lot of vegetables we were disappointed with the beef and the turkey. Dessert of apple strudel, my cream was warm and custard on wife’s congealed.

Staff are extremely lovely, understanding, and accomodating. Saturday was a bit loud due to a birthday party being held here, but Sunday has been very chill. Sundays do not serve food past 4pm though.

Been here twice now and can't wait to go back. Food is delicious. Brilliant service

Lovely village pub. Food fabulous & staff friendly & welcoming. Only downside is that there was no mobile signal (if that is an issue for you). Also, a good place for a leisurely meal. Very relaxed ambience. However, I wouldn't recommend it if on a tight schedule.

Myself, wife and father in law, 26th Sept. We had home made pie (ham,chicken, and leek) excellent. Liver,bacon, and onion wow gorgeous. Rump steak cooked how we asked. Excellent experience and highly recommend.

Stayed at The Cottage Inn at Fillongley near Coventry last night in our motorhome. No services so ensure you have water on board. Phone ahead and book a table (which is yours for the evening) Slightly sloping carpark, level enough at the bottom though. Quiet once pub has closed. Welcoming landlord & lady (Luke & Ellie) and their restaurant team are very friendly too. Nice range of beers. Very nice food, huge portions that would satisfy the hungriest person on the planet.

I went here in a group of 5 lads on a Sunday afternoon after karting in Tamworth. We got stuck behind some farm vehicles along the way and arrived a bit later than planned, right at the end of food service and we weren't sure if we'd be able to get food, but the lady who greeted at the door checked with the kitchen staff and came back to say they could do food from the Sunday menu only, which was completely fine with us as that's what we were all expecting anyway. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to be cleared as it was really busy, and we didn't mind at all getting some drinks and sitting outside as it was a nice day and some of us were vaping anyway, and it was easier to chat outside where it was a bit quieter. I think between us we had all the different options for a Sunday lunch, beef, turkey, someone had a rabbit pie as a substitute for a steak and ale pie (or similar more usual menu item), and we all loved the food. The serving staff were friendly and asked immediately if we wanted any sauces or extra gravy. It's really nice to not have to ask and then wait for ages. I can see why this place is so popular, despite being a bit out of the way (involving plenty of narrow farm roads), as the staff, food and atmosphere are all fantastic.

The food is exceptional good, nicely presented and there was plenty of it. We both had poached pears for desert they were to die for. The pub itself is welcoming and well presented. The staff are so friendly, an asset to the Cottage Inn. In all we had a pleasant time there, and will definitely be going back, already booked.

The new owners are lovely, they make you feel very welcome. Sunday roast was beautiful we would definitely recommend the Cottage and will be returning for another family meal. Thank you for a lovely meal

Been to this pub quite a few times and doesn’t disappoint. Lovely staff, great food and good atmosphere. It has recently been taken over and new owners are doing a great job. Would highly recommend the Steak pie it is delicious! Looking forward to going again soon.

Hawaiian gamon is second to none!

Cosy little place, very quiet area and nice ambience, it was a little busy but it was Sunday lunchtime and the staff were working very hard, would happily come back again, thank you!

Went for lunch here today asked for no gravy and was given a plate swimming with the stuff then was asked if we'd like to pay before we'd finished our drinks...felt like we were being rushed... didn't enjoy!

Menu was very limited with regards to dairy free selection, but the cherry pie with Sorbet was to die for,and the staff were very pleasant .while the menu shows a ploughman's, which l would have had minus the cheese, it is not and never has been available sadly on the menu.

Arrived late. Still served us. Fantastic meal and really friendly staff. Steak and ale pie was one of the best I've ever tasted. Can well recommend

Not impressed at all. Showed up after the lunch rush, 3 tables were full. At least 10 were empty. They insisted they were “totally” reserved and booked full. The kitchen closes in an hour and it’s after lunch….. not sure if they were “reserved” for locals or just not bothered….

Excellent Christmas party. Food was delicious and prompt. What a lovely meal to celebrate this festive time. Thank you to all the staff for being jolly and friendly.

Great food, good drink selection, and a cozy atmosphere. Staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Has a definite old style local pub feel that I find comfortable. Tables are close together, and they pack lots in, but for me it feels more cozy than cramped, especially when the staff are so welcoming. Service was quick and food quality is good. I think their meat is from Frank Parkers and the steaks are excellent! I do recommend taking it slow driving down the lane it's on as it's narrow and windy. When you get there though there's plenty of parking in the carpark. A real hidden gem and a family favourite for any special occasion. They are closed on Mondays unless it's a bank holiday when they're closed on the Tuesday instead.

Went to the Cottage Inn to meet up with my sister and we had a most excellent meal, but after the meal we were about to leave when my sisters car broke down . The owners and staff were a god send, and could not do enough for her allowing us to stay in the warmth well after closing time while waiting for the recovery to come, which took over 7hours. Our thanks go to them all for a service over and above there duty. Give yourselves a pat on your backs you deserve it. WE will be back again. MJP

Proper "home" cooking, really helpful welcoming hosts and waiting on staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and experience. Would like to say I will return shortly, but it's approximately 120 miles from home.

Had another excellent lunch there yesterday with friends. The restaurant was almost full but service was good. The menu choices are plentiful as well as a specials board. The quality, portion size and temperature of food is always spot on The staff are very friendly and helpful. A good example of how a successful restaurant/pub is being run in these difficult times - long may it continue. Thank you

14 of us attend a double birthday on the 4th Nov we were well greeted by staff the service we received thro the night was excellent, there was an excellent choice of beers and the food was amazing I would highly recommend it for a visit or two as I truly believe you will not be disappointed we for sure will be returning excellent venue Bobv3

Where to begin? Staff were absolutely lovely. So helpful and friendly. We'd not got a booking, but they squeezed us in. We both opted for beef roast. It was a proper, home cooked Sunday roast. Full of flavour and just like my mom used to do. Way, way better than anything the chain pubs churn out. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Excellent lunch was very good, great food, service and choice. The puddings were traditional and to die for, I was one of 9 extremely happy guys no surprise that the pub was very busy. As usual it was a terrific lunch.
