This was our first visit for afternoon tea. We arrived early and was seated immediately. Our server placed the tiered dishes with the foodon our table. We have had afternoon tea in many places in the UK and in many other countries and we can honestly say the refreshments served at Oad was best we have received. We would recommend a visit.

We've visited many times and the food is delicious without fail. The drink selection is impressive too. The new (optional) self ordering system worked well and everything arrived quickly. I'd like a search function on this as it's not always obvious which section a particular dish would be in. I'd love to be able to book because arriving at a busy time means waiting with a buzzer but the wait is always worth it

Visited Oad St for a late lunch today. Can only say the experience was appauling… much smaller and cramped in person, the toilets were disgusting, the QR code ordering left us without the personal experience we expect from this sort of dining. Fifteen minutes after placing our order on the qr code the table next to us complained about their wait time as they’d waited over an hour we complained after waiting 40 minutes, was informed that there had been a technical issue with the QR system and the kitchen never received our order. At which point I requested a refund for my food so we could leave. However our order was then rushed through to trap us in. We were offered free drinks as an apology however this was all too little too late especially given the tiny glasses these drinks came out in. The food came out and was low quality. Overall seems this restaurant allows for over capacity, lacks in customer service and communication. Very very disappointed with our experience particuarly at this price point.

Generally a fan of this place and the vibe they created. But came on the Oade Street birthday (unintentionally) and they had dance music slamming out of speakers and a saxophonist for breakfast. 10x too loud and out of sync with the vibe of the place. And people were visibly uncomfortable with it, given they want to talk there, and it was missed completely by the team. Food was good but for the price just average and can see ingredients are no longer high quality. Staff were cool but new qr system in place which feels backwards with a more high end place.

The food wasn't very nice, over cooked and greasy. The iced coffee drinks were very watery and didn't taste great. The food took almost an hour to come out; which I get they had issues with tills but we weren't kept up to date and had to ask after 30 minutes to ask where food was, and still they added a service charge at the end! I won't be going back.

We visited Oad on father’s day and had been booked onto the brunch deal by a family member. We had to wait to be seated for 10 minutes and once we were, it took 15 minutes for anyone to serve us. We were never given a menu or told what was going on, which i’m sure would be fine if you were the person that had booked, but it wasn’t for us. The drinks options were buck’s fizz or corona, of which you were allowed 1 in the deal. When the food came out we were only disappointed further. Although the brunch boards look beautiful it is predominantly waffles and croissants out of a packet, with bottled sauces. The cooked elements were fine but could easily have been sat in a warmer since the start of the day, so it felt like nothing on the board was made fresh except the fruit sprinkled on it. Our tea and coffee didn’t come out until we were half way through the food either. When we switched from savoury to sweet my husband lifted his small plate up to move it and there was some old tomato stuck to it. We were also only given 1 set of cutlery despite separate plates and a sweet/savoury mix. My cutlery was a starter knife and a mains fork. Honestly the whole experience was such a mess but to top it off we paid £30 per person! It seemed outrageous to pay this much and be given such budget options. For perspective we recently had a 3 course meal with a glass of wine for £27.50 at The Ivy. The prices on the normal menu do look a bit more reasonable but i can’t say that we’ll be returning to find out if they’re worth it!

I am most disappointed with Oade Street cafe. I was given an electronic gift voucher for my birthday last year (2023), but unfortunately, being an email, I forgot about it until my friend reminded me and it went out if date 3 days ago. Oade Street were unable to tell if it had been redeemed and therefore would not honour the voucher, which was for £25! My advice is DON'T buy a voucher. I am most disappointed with their Customer Service.

Nice place with pleasant shop. The food is good but the service is poor. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table and was given a small bleeper device although 5 tables were free. We then had to wait for menus and then waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order after I frantically waved. Then we waited 15 minutes for a cream tea and two drinks. Too many young girls who appear untrained and without any sense of organisation. They are friendly but that is hardly the point. Someone with experience should train the staff and set up an organised system. There are plenty of staff but they were all pretty clueless. My husband was a head chef for 40 years in many countries and found the experience dismal.

I've been here twice, and food is absolutely amazing on both occasions. There are no faults whatsoever in that area. I have never had a coffee from ANYWHERE when I didn't need to put sugar in. That was a lovely first. The servers were extremely polite. Don't get me wrong! However, the service was a little lacking, sadly, at most times there were a few wait staff just standing around being idle, not really being proactive during what was quite a busy period. There were two young women who had been there before me and my party had arrived and were still there an hour and a half later as we were leaving, they were sitting on a table for 6. At no point did a server come over and say, "Would you like anything else?" Which could prompt them to either get something else or pay their bill so that someone else could come and sit down. Just a small observation that I think could help. Sorry if that is a bit judgey. Overall 8/10

We had a wonderful late brunch at Oad Street, both the food and drink were delicious, fresh and hot/cold, as necessary. It was a pleasant surprise to not have to add sugar to my coffee and the mojito my sone ordered was described as "the best mojito ever" when my daughter tried it. We were a little disappointed/surprised by the following situations we experienced in the overall service provision. 1. Although we accepted we had to wait for the popular venue, our wait would have been improved in the following ways. a. If we had been given menus, whilst waiting, we would have been able to order our food much sooner after being seated, which in turn would have sped up the whole service operation allowing Oad Street to serve more customers, thus reducing wait times. b. Once handed our buzzer, we were left to wait without any interaction until it buzzed. Had we been asked if we wanted/needed a drink, this would have made us feel more valued as customers and would probably have resulted in additional drinks sales for Oad Street. 2. When we had finished our meal and were ready to pay and leave, we were basically ignored for quite some time. Had we not asked for the check, I suspect we would still be waiting. In fact, one table (for six) with two customers on it had no interaction with the waiting staff the entire time we were there and they had empty glasses in front of them and no plates when we were seated. It would have only taken someone to ask, "can I get you anything else?" to prompt the initiation of the payment process or for the customers to order something else. These strike me as obvious, simple to implement adjustments to their processes.

We came here earlier in the year so this review reflects that visit; had a good browse in the shop & crafts but were tempted by lunch. sadly they had an issue with their hot food service that day due to capacity/kitchen grill we were told, though we were informed right away and were still able to be seated without a booking, despite it being a very busy weekend. We ordered scones, jam/cream and hot drinks and these were tasty and filling; in fact I was very impressed with the clotted cream which was amazing and just like it used to be from the West Country years ago (rather than from those generic little branded pots like you can buy in Tesco). I’d love to be able to buy some and hoping it’ll be the same if we return soon! (I shall re review with photos 👍🏻). The gift shop is worth a look and ideal for an unusual ladies gift/card.

The hotel is pretty new, and service is good. Rooms are nice as always in Premier Inn, restaurant and breakfast also as expected, good. The only thing I don't like is that the windows in the room are not opening. It was cold outside, but didn't have the best night sleep because it was to warm in the room. Tried the airco but didn't work. If the windows were opening, it was 5 out of 5 stars. Fresh air is important in the room.

the food is is genuinely alright but i was highly disappointed when i went in there for my family and the young boy in there started judging me for being a young mum and called a slag as i was waiting for the food for my family my mum joined me and the boy again had the audacity to say my mum looked run down and a state and laughed about it meanwhile the other people that worked there just allowed it to go on me and my family used to love going there and got on with the workers really well until they started judging me for being a young mum we was both disgusted as there is nothing wrong in being a young mum no matter the age you can be a good parent your age never determines your parenting capabilities it’s how much effort you put into it
