Nusara in Poole

Nusara stands out as a posh haven of Thai cuisine in the area, offering a more refined take than the other Thai restaurants in Poole. The attention to detail is evident across the menu, elevating classic dishes to something a bit more polished without sacrificing authenticity. We sampled the Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Crispy Beef, and each dish delivered on both flavour and presentation. The Pad Thai came with just the right balance of tang and sweetness, the noodles perfectly cooked with a delightful bite. The Green Curry was rich and aromatic, its coconut base carrying a deep warmth that didn’t overwhelm the delicate spices. The Crispy Beef, with its subtle crunch, was a standout, adding a satisfying texture to the meal. While it’s a bit pricier than some of the more casual options nearby, Nusara justifies it with quality ingredients and well-executed dishes. For a more elevated Thai dining experience, it’s a solid choice.

We came here with our friends, before heading to the theatre. I’m pleased I booked a table in advance, as the restaurant does get busy. Service in the beginning was good, food was nice and the bill came as soon as we asked for it. Unfortunately when it came to paying the bill, I had to chase the waitress a couple of times for the card machine, as we needed to get going due the show, however in the end we left the table to go to the bar area, where people were also complaining, as they also had to chase the same waitress to pay. We didn’t argue with the 10% service charge added to the bill, however I didn’t feel the service towards the end warranted this.

Visited on a Saturday evening with our boat crew of 4. We had raced over in a flotilla from Cowes so had a hungry crew needing replenishment for the race back to Cowes on the Sunday. Young but attentive waiting staff were helpful and efficient. Food and drinks arrived quickly and without fuss. Authentic taste and enjoyed by all. We saw crews from at least 4 other yachts and they all enjoyed it too. Excellent night, would definitely revisit and will recommend.

When we arrived we were told that they temporarily didn't have an alcohol license but that we could go get our own alcohol from the shop down the road. We didn't mind this at all as the Sainsbury's opposite was open and the waiter was very nice about it. Service was really great throughout our meal- the waiter pointed out what vegan options I could have and explained to my friend the spice levels of certain dishes. Food was absolutely delicious! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the ambiance, and we will definitely be back!!

Nu Sara Thai Restaurant on High Street in Poole offers a delightful and authentic Thai dining experience. The food is fresh and flavorful, truly capturing the essence of Thailand. We particularly enjoyed the Thai green curry and red curry, both rich in flavor and perfectly spiced. The experience was reminiscent of dining in Thailand, making it a must-visit for Thai food lovers.

Was a really great experience! We went there as a group of work colleagues. They offer starters, mains and dessert and it's a real eye catch. The taste is really awesome!! I had the prawns as a starter and lamb shank as main and it was absolutely delicious. 🤤 Big bonus as well that the whole menu is glutenfree unless a dish has a "g" attached. I'm coeliac and have been okay afterwards, however always recommended to check with them in person, so they can advise you on the dishes. Staff has been very friendly and helpful in explanations. Toilet is in a good condition as well, so overall 5/5 experience, would always go again here!

It was one of those rare occasions when you come to a restaurant, pay a reasonable amount for a meal and it is tasty! This is a great rarity nowadays. We ordered three vegan friendly meals: Green curry, Ma-Kuea curry (Aubergine curry) and Med Ma Mang. We especially recommend sticky rice. Thank you!

Superb event last Thursday night at Nusara Poole, with their gin tasting and food pairing evening. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and such good value for money. Special mention to Beth for being so flexible and friendly, even with our late arrival! Good work Team Nusara!

Order taken over phone, very friendly & helpful. When the order picked up my husband said the place was buzzing. Would love to dine in but have to wait til warmer so we can bring the dog as we have a dog who can't yet be left for too long. Food was tasty, hot and well cooked. Will definitely have another. I booked this restaurant on the back of Google & TripAdvisor reviews for 16 Gents on a Golf trip ranging from 28 to 81 years old and they ALL LOVED IT. The food was outstanding. The service was amazing. We sat down at 20:30 and was quickly handed menus and drink orders taken. The drinks were served quickly and went down well. Everyone had a Starter and a main course, with no complaints and Everyone thoroughly enjoyed, which considering the size and age range of the party was amazing. The staff were very attentive all night all needs were taken care off. We even had a chap who lives in Thailand said this was the best Thai meal he had in England. This restaurant comes highly recommended from us and we can't wait to visit again. Thanks to all the staff and the chefs

Faultless!! First visit here last night for our wedding anniversary. Will definitely be going back. My wife is Thai and not easily impressed - she loved it! We both did. Fay who took care of us was so lovely - friendly, attentive and genuine. All the staff are lovely and seem happy to work here. Fay made our anniversary feel very special. Thank you Fay! We had requested a cosy table, and were not disappointed. A romantic spot by the window. We also received complimentary drinks - my wife is pregnant and they brought her a lovely non alcoholic treat to match the Prosecco I received. The food is stunning. Great authentic Thai flavours, but a number of dishes with a great twist. Really exciting menu. Prices very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided. The pace of service is spot on. The vibe of the restaurant makes the evening feel special. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. We will definitely be going back soon.

Great atmosphere, like in an expensive restaurant in Bangkok. Especially when I found out that this is a historic building in the center of Poole (see the plaque on the building). Regarding the food - Prawn shub/ Krob Squid tempura were delicious. I ordered non-spicy Penang Curry with chicken, but was disappointed it was spicy (I don't eat spicy), had to switch with my wife for Phad Thai with prawns, but there are only 4 of them. So, it was relatively tasty, but please indicate the true information about - Penang Curry - one pepper draw in the menu.The portion of rice is very small. Juice in winter with ice without asking is bad for a child.

Delicious special beef curry with excellent spiced potatoes. Thai fishcakes were great as well. Girlfriend had a special duck which was a little too sweet.

The lamb shank and duck dishes were awful. The restaurant was very empty not too many people there which was the first bad sign. Waitresses were great, but food was really poor. Had a chocolate cake for desert that looked like it was stuck in the microwave to heat up, really poor experience. Goes to show a 4.6 star on Google isn't the be all end all.

First time visiting this lovely restaurant in the centre of Poole. A warm and friendly welcome from the staff into a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick and efficient whilst still feeling personal and thoughtful. The food was beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Really couldn't fault anything at all (even the ladies room was clean and fresh !) Can't wait to go back again. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who enjoys Thai food.

Ate here last week whilst we were on one of our regular trips to Poole and it was delicious. Husband is coeliac and their menu is 95% gluten free, he was thrilled the choices. Staff were friendly, food delicious, what more could you ask for. We will definitely be going again.

Entered for a lunchtime meal, staff were very friendly smiling and welcoming. Both my husband and I had the set menu. Meal was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Beth and Java are great happy ladies who made the experience lovely :) The cucumber salad was sooooo nice!

The food was good. The price was great. But please ask if I want ice in juice!? I got a glass full of ice and a bit of juice. Did not enjoy that at all.

Had Moo Ping to start, lots of marinated pork on a satay skewer with spicy sauce. Much better than usual chicken satay. For main had chopped rump steak with spicy sauce. It didn’t work as well as I hoped. With hindsight I would recommend stick with Thai classics. Impressive decor, service could have faster. Good place for celebration.

Food was tasteless unless splashed with spicy sauces, then everything just tastes of sauce. Calamari was very chewy and unseasoned, so pretty much tasteless. Dim Sum tasted of nothing at all. Very disappointing.

Went here for my birthday celebrations with friends who recommended Nusara. Java was our waitress and she couldn’t have done more! As soon as we mentioned my birthday, I was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco - which was so lovely and unexpected. When we ordered the food, which was off the set menu, it came beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious! Java could not have done more to make our experience absolutely great. Would definitely recommend and would give a 5 star rating!! Thank you.

loved it, without a doubt will be back again. Been meaning to come here for a while , as are mates have been recommending it for months.We finally looked at the reviews and saw how good the food was and the service from everyone. We had a wonderful night and got served by the fabulous Morgan saw the reviews about him and they didn't lie. He was wonderful next time were back hope to be served by him. The food was incredible and my overall experience was phenomenal highly recommend to anyone.

We have been going here since it open, but the service is normally top notch but the service from Morgan was amazing never had experience like this it was phenomenal. The food was amazing like usual and for anyone thinking of coming here you should its out of this world good service and good food for a reasonable price.

What a beautiful place.... Modern Thai in a historic building.... The perfect match. Inside it has a lovely warm welcoming feel, dark wood makes it feel very atmospheric and it has a great laid back playlist. There is a lovely outside area to the front but it was pouring down so thank fully there was room inside for us. The menu wasn't vast... A good thing in my book but the classics are there along with a few signature dishes.
