We came here for a joint family birthday party and it was brilliant. We usually come here for breakfast so it was lovely to attend for dinner. Amazing service, catered for all, and a fantastic atmosphere. The service was incredible and the owner opened specially for us, a lovely time enjoyed by all :)

Went for lunch at Cafe 50 on Tuesday. Reasonably price menu, delicious home cooked food and friendly helpful staff. Would recommend this cafe and will certainly be returning the next time we are in Yeovil.

This cafe is a real treasure. The food is brilliant with a lovely home cooked vibe. It has the most friendly atmosphere and the service is one of the most welcoming I have come across. The range of menu is phenomenal including plenty of veggie/vegan options. All of this at very reasonable price.. I only wish it was closer to my home because I would be there most days I think. It is a place which really cheers you up.

Two friends and I were going to visit the nearby Fleet Air Arm Museum but wanted a breakfast first. One of my friends found the Cafe on Google so we agreed to meet there at 9am. We arrived just as they were opening up and made to feel welcome. Our orders were taken straight away and the hot teas arrived quickly. We all three ordered the breakfast that came with fired bread and additional toast. The food was well cooked and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will certainly visit again when next in Yeovil.

Fancied a cooked breakfast this morning. Looked at TripAdvisor and choose this place based on the reviews. Spot on. Lovely food, nice atmosphere, very satisfied, and will come here again for breakfast.

Found this cafe while visiting Somerset from Kent. Great variety of vegan food and plenty for the price. Visited 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Very friendly staff.

First time visiting and we will definitely return next time we visit Yeovil. I had the standard breakfast that came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 tomatoes, sausage, beans, fried bread and toast whilst my husband the full monty (pictured) we both had a juice each and out child has toasted teacake. The price for all was a little over £22.

My Wife and I popped in on the off chance for lunch. We weren't disappointed. Great staff and amazing food. They managed to get us in on one of the tables. I had their festive Xmas club sandwich, which came with fries and a side salad. I struggled to finish it, as there was so much. The price was also very reasonable for the portion size. We will know to book next time, as they were extremely busy and had to turn some others away. All the food coming out looked fab and all the staff were very attentive. Great job, we will be back.

I found the staff very welcoming and friendly. They were knowledgeable and helpful with our questions about the menu. Nothing was too much trouble. The menu is massive, really something for everyone. You can get an all day breakfast, veganpot roast or a whole roast chicken dinner! Or just a cake or a sandwich. One of my favourite places to take friends. Speedy service too so ideal for a work day lunch treat.

What a wonderful place. Staff are so attentive and the consideration to peoples needs is amazing. Cater for all good needs. Food is amazing. My daughter had beaut lamb steak which was so mouth watering. Portion sizes amazing. Very busy beautiful home cooked food

Tried this cafe for the first time today after looking at their extensive menu in the window. Fantastic choices for vegans and vegetarians and also some meals available that I would class as restaurant quality rather than your usual cafe meals. Our breakfasts were superbly cooked and good value for money and there was also a good drinks choice. The staff were all polite , friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The only very slight critique would be the cafes decor is quite dated but was very clean. Definitely will return.

Popped in for a coffee with the girls after a long day a work and a spot of lunch and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. The service was very good and quick, the food was reasonably priced and we all loved it.

Visited this small cafe on recommendation from locals. Opted for the cod loin in a champagne sauce with with grapes, Mediterranean veg, and sautéed potatoes. Absolutely fabulous, I wish I had taken a picture, it was presented beautifully, and tasted as good as it looked....

As committed Vegan's for almost 40 years we visit Cafe 50 on a weekly basis for a superb Vegan breakfast , although the Cafe also provides none vegetarian/vegan foods ,we are confident that Pete and Jane know their stuff and we dine with confidence.

Wandered up through the barren and depressing main shopping precinct and then flipped a coin, left or right, went right and was looking for a sit down coffee/food; Cafe 50 fitted the bill and it was fabulous. Great tasty food, lovely coffee, great staff. :-)...

We were offered a window table, and enjoyed some excellent, hot, coffees together with a toasted sandwich which came with fries and salad! A perfect way to while away half an hour. Very Covid secure, great staff and excellent food - what's not to like!

Found this cafe / restaurant by chance and very pleased we did! Lovely hot sunny day so we sat outside and enjoyed "people watching" whilst firstly having tea. It was so pleasant we stayed for lunch and enjoyed a delightful warm bacon and chicken salad....

Visited today as a family of four. The tables are spaced for social distancing and the staff are very polite and all are friendly and had on their masks there was hand Sanitiser on all tables for the costumers use . The food was fresh cooked and portions are very adequate we all enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend going to cafe 50 . Booked an afternoon tea for both myself and daughter the other day and it was the best we have ever had! a lovely selection of cakes, beautiful scone, a hugh selection of sandwiches. Absolutely fantastic price! We left stuffed and still took some home.Thank you so much for having us, we cannot wait to rebook.

They cater for dietary requirements including gluten free. Dairy free. And for those with coeliac disease as well. Tell them your requirements and they make sure everything is done very well with no cross contamination. so you can eat knowing your not going to be ill .I booked a cream tea in advance so they could make me fresh scones all gluten free.it was lovely Highly recommend them

Visited this week for Afternoon Tea. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the Afternoon Tea was amazing. Plenty of food including sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, selection on mini cakes, cheesecakes, banoffee, trifles and scones with clotted cream and jam. Everything tasted delicious and was well presented. Will definitely be returning in the near future to try out more of the menu which looks fantastic. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Just had a fantastic afternoon tea at Cafe 50, beautifully presented & tasted delicious. Staff were really friendly & made it a lovely afternoon.

Visited for lunch with friends. We ordered the burger which wasn’t great. Doesn’t taste like 100% or look like 100% meat. Can see why it is only £9ish, although still seems expensive for what you get, even with the sides etc. I would still expect it to be tasty and not greasy.

The staff are soo helpful and friendly. I find the cafe is welcoming what ever you have from a diet Coke to the gourmet burger.

Mummy & Daddy have bought me here on several occasions. Everything they order always looks & smells lovely and daddy says hes never eaten anything he doesn't like..... The lovely ladies that bring food are very smiley and always make a huge fuss of me... great food with generous portions , homemade and great choices. as this was a working lunch the service was just right, but also not rushed

Have been a few times and usually found the food good. However this time, I ordered a burger and chips. The burger was not the best and seemed as though it was a frozen cheap burger plus it was swimming in grease as were the chips.

Lovely place with super, helpful staff. As we were there quite early we did not have cake, just coffee and croissant (which came toasted, with plenty of butter and a huge amount of jam!), good value at £7.00 for two hot drinks and two pastries. Have to say, the cakes did look delicious. The main menu offers interesting options for vegans and vegetarians, and good, reasonably priced options for children's' meals. It is clearly a popular venue, pretty full by the time we left, and with tables reserved for lunchtime service. Will definitely be going back! Just one point to note for information, the one toilet is across a small outside area to the rear of the restaurant.

My husband surprised me with a visit to our favourite café (Number 50), where we had our first vegan afternoon tea.We were given so much food that we took away some of it.We were really spoiled and the food was very imaginative and yummy.We can't recommend it enough!

Every table is taken the whole time which is always a sign of a good place to visit. I just wanted a break and had tea and seeded vegan banana cake which was warm and delicious and new to the menu I believe. All the food I saw come out all looked delicious and even though they were very busy nobody waited at all long. Will definitely visit again.

We visit café number 50 in Yeovil town two or three times a year when we go to stay in Yeovil. My family go to this café every morning that we are in Yeovil as we have found this to be the best breakfast in town. There is always plenty and in the breakfast a round of toast and a cup of tea is included in the price that is very reasonable. They are very friendly and we always receive excellent service. Highly recommended.

My wife had a superb veggie breakfast that was great value. My bacon and eggs were fine. Friendly staff, clean, good value.

The best cafe in Yeovil. Food is out of this world, plenty of homemade goodies (the cakes are amazing) really fresh and the best cafe coffee I've found. Huge choice of menu. The staff are really friendly, very efficient - nothing is too much trouble. You may need to book a table at lunchtime as it really is very popular.

Every week I look forward to my lunch date here. The food from Menu and Specials included, are of continuous top quality. I am welcomed and feel relaxed eating here. In fact the lovely ladies, Jane, Carol and Charlotte make me feel like one of the family. On my recommendation alone why would you dine for lunch anywhere else? A relaxed and cosy atmospheric environment. Thank you Jane and Peter. You triumph with delicious dishes and all reasonably priced too.

They serve loads of very well priced food options, including vegan options and cakes. It is on the smaller side so can get busy but I've never struggled to get a table and the staff are lovely/attentive.

This cafe does a good range of food for vegans and vegetarians. I had their mushroom chestnut and cranberry tart, served with spinach salad with a cranberry dressing, sorte potatoes and noodles. Personally I don't think the noodles were needed. Generous portion and very tasty. Good value for money. Their cakes look very good but I was too full to try a piece.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and everything was exceptional. First impressions count and this restaurant was first class. The service was quick, friendly and excellent. The food was hot and outstanding. The homemade fish pie was exceptional and the vegetarian smoky bean stew was delicious. The drinks were superb. I cannot fault this restaurant. They were so busy at 12pm that they almost had to turn someone away. That speaks volumes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends or anyone else and this certainly won't be our last visit. Well done Number 50 Cafe, you excelled in every area. Keep up the great work and the great food!

Been in here to eat at lunch time twice this year so far, first time was very busy, service was a bit slow, but it was busy so I appreciate that. About 15 minutes after we ordered, we wee told one of the ,meals chosen wasn't available & they offered an alternative, my Jacket potato was cold, I only had 10 minutes to eat & get back to work so didn't bother to complain.

The afternoon tea was amazing! We were presented with a 3 tiered cake stand with delicious sandwiches on the bottom layer (fillings previously ordered), a very varied selection of gorgeous mini cakes on the middle layer and dipped chocolate strawberries with grapes on sticks, half coated with hundreds and thousands on the top! As well as this incredible selection of food, we were also given portions of quiche, a scone with cream and jam each as well as a mini trifle served in a very pretty container which looked like a miniature pint glass. It looked absolutely wonderful and tasted delicious! There was more than enough for both of us and we took what we didn't eat home!

After a warm welcome the breakfast of eggs toast and smoked salmon was excellent and which I have no hesitation in recommending. The portion was generous and very good value. Coffee was excellent too. The café was busy and the atmosphere friendly.

Mine is a weekly visit to Cafe 50. Smiles to greet you from the lovely ladies who look after the customers so well. Food is fantastic and value for money. You'll not regret your visit and you'll want to go back time and again. You may need to book to be sure of a table, it can get busy. Open Mon thru Sat and closes at 3pm. Guaranteed a friendly welcome every time.

We have been here several times and have NEVER been disappointed. I am a vegetarian and Café Number 50 offers the best selection and choice of food for vegetarians. I had the roasted vegetable Panini which comes with a delicious salad and my husband had the bacon and egg baguette (which he also enjoyed).

When we were looking for a place to have lunch we wandered up to this in a back street of Yeovil. I was reluctant to go in as I wasn’t sure of how good it would be. However it appeared to have several customers so i agreed to give it a try.

After reading the reviews I was quite excited about trying this café. The menu is extensive, with lots of dishes I would have been happy to try. I opted for the lentil and vegetable shepherds pie which was served with bread and salad. It looked very nice when it was served to me. I hadn't realised there was any butter with the bread - not surprising as I found it at hidden under the warm part of the shepherds pie much later - 3 packs all turned to liquid. I say warm part because the centre of the shepherds pie was completely cold. The bread was tasty and the salad was nice and fresh but it was all let down by a lack of attention to detail. I won't go back.

We wnnt there because we were going to be passing close by Yeovil on a long journey and because of the TripAdvisor reviews. And it certainly didn't disappoint.

What a lovely find! We found this café listed on the Happy Cow app as we were looking for somewhere with vegan options and it turned out to be excellent. I had the cottage pie and my husband had the stuffed mushroom off the specials menu, both were generous and very tasty, great home cooked food! I was surprised at the melted cheese topping on the cottage pie and the helpful lady (owner?) told me that they use Violife Pizza vegan cheese. We couldn't resist the vegan cakes of course and ended up eating too much but left as very happy customers who will definitely return on our next trip through the area.

This lovely little eatery is not just ‘a cafe’. Set away from the crowds, it’s a haven for anyone seeking something more than the usual offering of fast food. The menu is vast, with options for all tastes including a good variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Food intolerances are not just catered for but embraced. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and understanding plus, with the variety offered on the menu, there’s something for everyone. The vegan “cottage pie” was served free from wheat and soya and was absolutely delicious! The children’s menu is wholesome and again addressed our food intolerances. Yes, burgers and chips are on the menu too, and equally delicious .

Always a kindly greeting when you arrive. Service and food always excellent. They do close just before three so give yourself time to enjoy the delights of Cafe 50.

Being Vegan, locally in Yeovil we find it difficult to get a purposely designed vegan meal. At Café 50 we can eat with confidence knowing that they understand our diet whether it is just a muffin, full breakfast, lunch or dinner.

So often when eating out, as vegans, our choices are limited, but cafe 50 made me wish I could have tried more of the dishes available. I certainly will be revisiting this establishment in order to expand my experience. One real revelation was their cup cake, so often things pretending to be things they are not, make for, at best, pale imitations and at worst bone crushingly disappointment. From the "cream" swirl on the top, to the cake itself it was delicious, delicious, delicious. Thank you cafe 50, see you again soon.

My partner and I visit Cafe 50 regularly for breakfast and always have a great experience here. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is lovely.

My other half and I popped in as we fancied a fry up and found they serve breakfast all day. We were greeted and told to help ourselves to a table and they would come and take our order. We both ordered orange juice and "extra" breakfast, huge menu choice followed by a huge meal! We rarely leave food but we were beaten. Couldn't fault it. We shall be back when next in Yeovil!!!

Looked in for a quick breakfast on a Saturday morning whilst in town. Full English with toast and tea for under £6. It was tasty and quick. Service great. Simple but clean and welcoming. Couldn't fault it.

My wife and I had been staying at Podimore services on the A303 and having read reviews on Trip Advisor of Number 50 Cafe we decided to try it for breakfast. It is only a little over ten minutes away by car. I had the large English breakfast which was actually huge. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. My wife chose scrambled eggs on toast. It was beautifully presented and, apparently tasted good but, despite her not having a big appetite, she felt that there was not enough egg. Fortunately she was able to have one of my fried eggs. The staff were all excellent and we would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

Just had the most delightful breakfast at this brilliant little cafe on the edge of Yeovil town centre; my friend and I each chose the Eggs Winston - two poached eggs on a savoury bed of spinach, sweet potato, and onion with an onion marmalade drizzle. Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Together with granary toast and two flat whites, our breakfast was complete. Very friendly service, on what was a busy morning (raining outside, so perfect tg excuse to eat in!!) Next time I will post a picture to convey just how good the Eggs Winston looks on the plate.

I recently had lunch here during a busy time and ordered a jacket potato topped with coronation chicken. The potato was large and the meal was very enjoyable. I found all of the staff to be very welcoming and efficient. Will definitely come again.

This café is lovely, the food here is truly fantastic and so well priced. I was served the most tasty vegan breakfast I have ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone and happily eat here every day if I could!

I have not a bad word to say about the food itself and options available at this café. All delicious and the prices are perfectly suited. However, I am purely baffled by the manager responses to the fair number of reviews saying exactly what I am now; the waitresses are not good. As a waitress myself since the age of 15 I can understand you get chatter and banter, as well as the occasional moody teen days, however, the general attitudes of two waitresses in particular puts me off the business all together. All the 'adults' working in the café seem incredibly polite, but writing this as an 18 year old myself, even I cannot side with the rudeness and awful unprofessionalism of the girls that work there. I visited last Saturday on a particularly busy day and had the rudest experience with a waitress I've ever witnessed. No please nor thank yous, not even in telling me the drink I wanted had run out so 'you'll have to have something else', I ask for a replacement and get a simple 'yep' in response before she turns and walks off. This is merely one account of the poor attitudes I have received. I am not at all a picky or overly expectant customer but honestly, the service of the young girls is terrible and the manager responses to every complaint of the matter is becoming laughable. There is only so many times you can defend childish behaviour and bad service before it reflects bad on the café as a whole.

Everything about this cafe is perfect.... but it’s massively let down by the two young girls always gossiping and constant attitude. They make me not want to go there :(

We use No 50 a lot as the quality and choice of food is very good. However, the last couple of times we have been in there, there have been a couple of waitresses working. Their general appearance and attitude we feel, is not acceptable. We called into No 50 on 28th December, one of the girls was sitting at a table talking to her friends, when we walked she gave us a very unwelcome look. She kept saying how she was finishing at 3 o’clock ( to her friends). There were tables to clear, she had to be asked by another member of staff to do it. Whilst we were eating, along with other customers, she shot through the cafe, wrenched the door open and stormed out. It is such a shame as it has always been a very happy, welcoming place.

Use this little cafe at least twice a month, they serve a great value breakfast always cooked to order, together...
