I have eaten in the cafe and the food is good but I usually call for take away as I am short on time. The salad box is brilliant and you can choose two toppings plus all the salad. The jacket potatoes are a good portion and the pies and Quiche are tasty. Well priced and would recommend.

I had been working close by for quite a few months and most days I would go in for either a sandwich or one of the daily specials. The lasagna is lovely as are their jacket potatoes and it’s always a generous portion. The place is clean, has a good atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. I’d highly recommend Number4 to anyone in the area looking for somewhere to grab lunch or sit down for something to eat. After moving jobs I haven’t been for a few months, but after my visit today I have to say it’s just as good and I’ve missed calling in and the delicious affordable food they offer.

What can I say about this place? A brilliant cafe for breakfast, lunch, early tea and snacks at any time of the day. Brilliant sandwiches, gorgeous cakes and scrumptious quiches. Very decent coffee and top-notch service. In short, this is a great cafe and a must visit for anyone in and around Durham. Not to be missed!

Friendly staff, happy to help and take time to make food and drinks order to your personal prefences. Tray bakes and scones are delicious and I was not disappointed with the quality or quanity of the special afternoon teas booked as a treat for my mother and friend with Prosecco or non alcoholic alternative for the drivers. Seating is both indoors and out, and most important after a walk along the cycle path is dog friendly

A really nice, down to earth, clean and friendly cafe..... few and far between .... The full English sit down breakfast was absolutely tremendous .... it was a good sized meal ( but not too much ) and it was perfectly cooked !!

Called for a late lunch. This place is famous for its variety in cakes, scones and tray bakes. They also do frozen home cooked meals, such as lasagne, pies etc The menu was extensive, we were spoilt for choice. The service was attentive.

We popped into Number 4 this morning for breakfast as we had so many great things, and we weren't disappointed. The coffee was magnificent - so nice to get a simple Americano in the modern coffee shop world, that is of such high quality. We had breakfast sandwiches who were superb. A large, beautifully fresh bun stuffed full with sausages and bacon. I won't need to eat again for the rest of the day. Fantastic value for money. Finally, the staff were so accommodating and helpful. They genuinely seem to love this place and want to be part of the community, which is so refreshing. I suspect this will become our regular breakfast spot.

I have been visiting Langley Park for 20 years and whilst there are some great places to eat this is the first cafe I can think of that can make a great cappuccino. The staff are very friendly too so I will return.

We really like taking our 18 month old to Number 4 as they are very child friendly with a proper baby change facility and a play area. The food is reasonably priced and tasty, if a little unadventurous

Have visited here several times and the food is always freshly prepared and delicious. Bought pie/cakes and sandwiches to take out Sandwiches are made to order and delicious if slightly over priced. The cakes are to die for and made by the owner - worth the cost.

New owners and obviously don't need or want trade as I was ignored by three members of staff. Go elsewhere now where manners and courtliness come as standard.

My Wife & I regularly use Number 4 for both takeaway sandwiches and "sit down" brunch or lunch. We have never been disappointed with either the quality of the food or the service, which is always first class and really friendly. My particular favourite is the fruit scone, an absolute delight, with a brilliant texture and full of flavour.

We ordered paninis at the "hidden" eat-inside after initially standing in the wrong (take-away) queue. Signage is less than adequate and accordinto staf it happens all the time. So do something about it! Paninis were OK but a little over-crusty and were served whole instead of halving them. A small point, but using the suppled knives (help yourself) the contents splattered over the plate - remember the crustiness. Much better to cut them in the kitchen with sharp knives. Presentation would be better too if this were done. Prices a little on the high side.

Great cafe with superb food at reasonable prices. A firm favourite but watch out for the cake if you are on a diet, delicious and massive portions. Great staff.

No hay mucho que hacer en Langley Park, mientras que los perros están en el peluqueros caninos, así que tenía ganas de una comida ligera en la cafetería y me pareció No. 4.

Very small inside and have a very basic menu wit nothing special. Very slow service and the food was very expensive for what it is. There is a little nic nak shop that sold funny and interesting items for a reasonable price. I don't think I will be going back.

Visited for light lunch with a friend recently. The cafe itself is fine, with a good choice of light meals, snacks and cakes, all reasonably priced. It's nice to be able to walk into a place and actually get a seat without having to wait., as recently we have tried a couple of coffee shops and had to walk out as the queues were out the door.We went for paninis which were fine, and the service was fine too, so all in all a nice place to go for a catch up over coffee. They also have a lovely little gift store at the back, which ticks 2 of my favourite boxes, food, and shopping, so it's win/win

Stopped by for a snack whilst passing though. Not a lot in Langley Park but Number 4 is like an oasis in a desert! Gift shop cum cafe and nicely done too. Had the Welsh Rarebit Muffins that were truly scrumptious and a very good cup of tea. Enthusiastic staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Well worth stopping by for!

Called in for lunch expecting to have a toasted sandwich or panini, but was tempted by the special instead which was slow braised steak served with herby new potatoes, carrots and peas. It was delicious and with a pot of tea the bill came to just over £6. The cafe is warm and welcoming, the staff were friendly and there is a gem of a gift shop tucked away at the back of the building. There wasn't a huge selection of cakes, but that didn't stop me buying a slice of tray bake and some quiche to take away.

Fresh food and nice athmosphere and service. However quite disappointed with the sit in and take out prices!!!! Really not keen on this corporative Starbucks-like approach :(

This is a small cafe which serves hot and cold sandwiches and a small number of specials. It is a cosy environment popular with families. The food is tasty and plentiful. There are toys for the children and prices are very reasonable. The cakes are good too.

Ordered caramel waffle latte and a Chelsea bun for myself, my friend ordered a vegan coffee and cake, by the time we’d picked up our cakes my friends’ vegan coffee was ready and a queue of people had formed so we took a seat and waited, and waited and waited. So having seen so many customers come in and get their drinks instantly I went back to ask for my caramel waffle latte, first of all I was told it had already gone out and the assistant was kind of trying to ignore me as she just continued with more orders, then she snapped ok I’ll make another but she continued with other orders and as the next person she called returned to the counter with a coffee she’d had some time and been drinking, the Starbucks assistant took her cup and tried to pass it to me saying it must be mine! I was horrified and said I don’t want someone else’s coffee, it’s already been partially consumed and handled by another customer so not hygienic but also we’re in the middle of a pandemic. She made me wait a while then passed a cup, looking nothing like the caramel waffle latte on the posters and not knowing if she’d topped up the other cup I retired to the table where my friend had finished her coffee & cake alone, so I ate my then sad dry bun and as I was leaving spoke to a supervisor about the lack of customer service, care and food hygiene safety. I asked for the branch number snd name as I wanted to put in an official complaint but was told the web address would find them, the assistant would be spoken to about making me wait and given a card for a free drink. I’ve mailed the complaints department but 10 days later not heard a thing - we won’t be visiting starbucks anytime soon, I don’t think it’s safe!!!

We stopped while passing through the town wile visiting the area. Food is unique and delicious. Not your average pub grub. We had the mixed grill in their signature peanut and lime marinade. Absolutely delicious and tender. Never had anything quite like it!
