Number 25 in City of London, Westminster

I booked a table for 3 for 7 pm 24 May via Open Table. I received a confirmation of booking from Open Table but when we arrived at No 25 we were told they had not seen the reservation and did not have a table for us. We left and had a perfectly lovely evening at Vinoteca in the Bloomberg Arcade, so all was not lost, but prospective customers should be aware that communication between Open Table and No 25 is clearly not working.

Solía ir a este Wine Bar cuando trabajaba en la ciudad, ¡que se remonta un poco! Conocimos a un par de amigos para almorzar y luego nos detuvimos aquí para tomar una copa antes de irnos a casa. No había cambiado, todavía estaba ajetreado y el personal era amable y servicial. Se convirtió en una noche encantadora y todos estuvimos de acuerdo en que visitaríamos de nuevo cuando estuviéramos en Londres. Definitivamente lo recomiendo.

Tuvimos un almuerzo rápido de negocios con una copa o dos de vino. Chablis estaba delicioso. La comida es sencilla, pero fresca y sabrosa. Mi colega tiene alergia al gluten y nos resultó difícil elegir una comida bien balanceada para él, pero el resto de nosotros estábamos contentos. El personal es muy servicial y servicial.

Un bar de vinos que frecuento regularmente y es bueno ver algunas nuevas opciones de comida recientemente agregadas. Voy por el vino y me quedo por la comida: -))

Me encanta el número 25. Algunos del personal más amable y servicial que me he encontrado! Ambiente encantador y podría sentarse aquí durante horas disfrutando del vino que tienen! Mi favorito es los riblets de carne y rioja reserva - ¡delicioso!

Fantastic place! I spent there amazing time last Monday. Great selection of wine and gin. Very nice staff looking after us. Good place for date, friends meeting or business lunch. Definitely I will be back !

Such a cosy little place. The staff are amazing. The 3 ladies who work there are so nice and friendly. They made my birthday lunch extra special last week and placed a personalised 'Happy Birthday' sign on the table for me. Lovely wines in this bar and generous and tasty sharing platters.

We popped in for a quick bite before another function - as previously said the menu is small (perhaps once the chef has clocked off), but what we had was very good and there was a lot of it. It took quite a while to arrive, but the staff were all very friendly and there is a warm, cosy atmosphere. We did not try the wines but the selection is extensive. Lovely décor with tables for meeting or socialising.

Can I start by saying how fantastic Aga is, she is attentive, adorable and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her or her staff, we had a great few hours enjoying lovely sandwiches and a few beers one afternoon and will be sure to go back at any opportunity!!!

Great place. Had a long awaited reunion with friends and found this lovely spot with plenty of seats, good nibbles and great wine. Also was not too busy on Friday night so could actually hear the conversation. Will definitely be back.

This place is a little gem. The food menu is not extensive but it is very tasty. Fabulous wines are available but it can become very busy.

An intimate wine bar frequented by those working in the city. A great meeting place with a lively atmosphere. A good selection of wines and spirits with attentive staff. Plenty of regional offers. A basic menu as drinking is the priority here. Certainly worth a stop off for business or pleasure.

Good place for a quick, simple bite after work or before a night out. Menu fairly limited, however, staff swift and helpful. Impressive wine and cocktail list. Nice, cosy decor and friendly atmosphere.

Meal was mediocre - we had the Number 25 Special - I could have done better myself. Service was poor - had to go up to the bar each time we wanted something yet 12.50% service was added. Wine was good at a fair price.

Server doesn't listen and argue when a complaint is raised. Poor attention to detail in the kitchen. Insufficient number of staff to handle lunch volumes. Very good chips.

As always, No 25 was busy with lunchtime City diners. However, the service was swift and friendly and the food exactly as described. The perfect venue to enjoy a sandwich and bowl of sausages, with a glass of wine or beer.

Ordered a sandwich and they bring the tiniest sandwich I ever seen. Price is high and it do not worth 9 bucks. Hope that I read the review before go here, seem like many people complaints

Private hire for evening Christmas party. Well sized for the size of our group and very attentive and friendly staff. Unfortunately the veggie platters were significantly delayed until after the meat platters were emptied despite requests for faster service. The reality for veggies persists...second class customers...

Met up with a friend for a catch up. Reserved a table which was waiting for us in a busy pre Christmas bar. Excellent bar service, quick and efficient. A cosy city wine bar which serves food in the afternoon but not in the evening. Serves a good value bottle of Primitivo! Good ambience and tucked away just enough not to be in the forefront but a good city vibe. A little gem

I booked a table for dinner at this place for 6 people. When I arrived at the venue, I was shocked to find that they do not serve food! It was very embarrassing for me because the people I invited expected food! When I called the venue, nobody mentioned they did not serve food, and I was under the impression that we would get food..

Catching up with a friend and booked table at Number 25 which was waiting for us. Thought they did food in the evening but only available at lunchtimes. Nice little bar tucked away near Bank. Excellent bar service, quick, friendly and efficient considering it was near to Christmas and the place was busy. Small and great for a post work drink. A little gem.

Had a lovely lunch with a client, nice staff and simple food. The only down side is the atrocious music

We decided to have the Number 25 House Special sandwiches at £8.95 each and asked for them on white bread. So we were very disappointed to get two small sandwiches with a very modest amount of chicken and bacon filling. Apparently on brown they arrive on a bap so are 4 quarters but come on guys this is a rip off even by City standards.

Beer, wine, more wine, food then round it all of with more wine! They had a Spanish wine week and the Rioja was excellent. Will go again for sure.

En medio de la avalancha de Bank se encuentra este pequeño y un poco posh bar. Perfecto para tomar unas copas entre semana y picotear.

Tucked away in the back streets of the City. A good place to meet and drink and eat - a lovelt selection of wines

Unlike some of the other 'challenged' reviewers, who are obviously confused, this is an intimate little wine bar under the Jamie's chain. The food is good, but limited (big sandwiches and light bites). Staff are friendly and attentive and it's a nice atmosphere when busy.'Old style' City wine bar which is reflected by its' clientele.

I had high expectations of the Jamie Oliver name - this was my first visit to one of his restaurants and I was impressed! It wasn't too crowded on a Friday night and I was surprised. I was seated promptly and greeted by my server right away. She provided excellent services throughout. Another thing I liked was there was always someone roaming by the table checking and to provide service - anyone seemed empowered to anything. Food was excellent. The little risotto ball appetizer was unique and delicious. Pasta was cooked perfectly. A bit pricey but considering in the heart of The City, not too bad. I took 2 colleagues there on the following Monday evening. Another great visit.

I come here quite regularly and it does some nice sandwiches (My favourite is the Smoked Halibut and Red Leicester) and a very good selection of wine.

Good food, reasonable price. Don't sit upstairs unless you want a quiet experience. Meat appetizer is good

This restaurant/bar is tucked away in the City and can easily be missed. However, when you get inside it feels as if the clock has been would back 25 years. I'd say that it's about time for a refurbishment! Food was okay with a reasonable menu. Service was reasonable. Turning back the clock might be what you are after but it's not light and airy. There are plenty of other places to visit.

This was my first visit to Number 25 having walked past it on many occassions but not stopping. It has character but in fairness could do with a refubishment. All it was missing was the smokey atmosphere and you&#039;d be back in the 80&#039;s. However, if this is your thing then it&#039;s worth a try.<br /><br />Food was good with a reasonable menu. Not overpriced.<br /><br />Service was also good.<br /><br />Location is ideal for the City but if ambience is what you are after then this isn&#039;t it!

Lovely place to meet for a quick bite and a glass of wine.

As I walked in to Number 25 Bircin Lane I was greeted by a friendly guy behind the bar who was expecting me, which was good - he even called me by my first name! The only slight issue was the loud music playing (my colleague is not too keen on this, as he likes to be able to talk without shouting!) so I mentioned it politely and the music was turned down slightly. Very limited menu but food good. Would possibly go back but with someone who I don&#039;t have a year&#039;s worth of catching up to do with - too much effort on the vocal chords!
