Number 13 in Bedford

Me encanta este lugar. He estado aquí muchas veces para el desayuno o el brunch y nunca decepciona. El café es totalmente vegano con una buena gama de opciones de comida. Nos recibió la encantadora Rachel y optamos por el desayuno grande y el sándwich de huevo frito. Ambas comidas se presentaron bien y sabían delicioso. Ingredientes de buena calidad utilizados con mucho sabor. El tofu revuelto es un favorito absoluto. El personal es siempre amable y acogedor y esta es sin duda mi primera opción cuando estoy cenando fuera para el desayuno o el brunch. Los cafés y chocolates calientes también son buenos. ¡Asegúrate de tomar un pastel (o dos) mientras estás allí!

Visité aquí después del gimnasio y estaba tan impresionado por el menú de comida y bebidas que ofrece tantas opciones veganas. El personal era educado, atento, bien informado, amable y generoso en espíritu, haciendo un ambiente encantador con un ambiente acogedor. Sin duda recomendaría el café con leche de avena como me recomendó el amable barista. ¡Nos vemos pronto!

Este es un lugar encantador para visitar cuando en Bedford. Somos locales y nos encanta visitar. La comida es vegana, así que ten en cuenta que el café/té viene con alternativas a la leche, pero sirven un delicioso café. Tienen delicias maravillosas para acompañar el café también. Vi a alguien mencionado yendo en noviembre y no encontré opciones sin gluten, que es honestamente lo que me llevó a escribir esta reseña. No soy celiaca, pero tengo intolerancia al gluten y alergia a los lácteos y después de recibir lácteos en la mayoría de los lugares de Bedford, siempre estoy emocionada de venir aquí, ya que es el único lugar completamente vegano en la ciudad. Nunca he encontrado un problema con las opciones sin gluten. Sí, solo tienen una torta que es libre de gluten, según tengo entendido, es hecha en casa por alguien local y solo se entrega los miércoles y sábados y es muy popular incluso entre los clientes no GF, así que tienes que entrar rápido. No tienen un montón de opciones de pasteles para empezar, así que no me sorprende ni decepciona que solo tengan una opción de tal vez 5 pasteles que ofrecen. 1 de cada 5 no está mal. He encontrado que estaban acomodando que estaban ofreciendo un asado dominical todos los domingos desde mediados de noviembre hasta Navidad y el pollo vegano que utilizaron fue la marca This Isn't y fue GF que hicieron todo lo posible incluso ofreciendo salir y comprar salsa GF solo para mí. Lo compré yo mismo porque no esperaría que un pequeño café saliera y pagara £ 3 - 4 por una salsa GF solo para un cliente, pero hacen un esfuerzo adicional. El desayuno grande, el sándwich de huevo frito, la sopa del día, el BLT y el tofu revuelto en tostadas son TODOS sin gluten disponibles sin ningún compromiso, ya que lo único que reemplazan es el pan que es agradable, ya que muchas veces obtener GF significa no solo intercambiar artículos, sino también perder algunos de un plato. No tienen un menú muy grande y creo que esto es probablemente casi si no la mitad de sus platos que he enumerado como GF. Su menú cambia de vez en cuando, pero he estado viniendo aquí durante el último año y siempre tienen el desayuno grande y el BLT. El sandwich de huevo es nuevo. Este es mi lugar 'seguro' para comer porque realmente me siento cómodo sabiendo que nunca voy a enfermar aquí como ningún lácteo de todos modos y son muy buenos con la parte de GF también. Es una pena que no tengan más pasteles de GF, pero solo pueden obtener lo que pueden obtener y francamente no se me ocurre ningún otro lugar en la parte superior de mi cabeza que haya tenido un pastel vegano de GF. Brownies, sí. Tortes, sí. Pasteles, no! Recomiendo encarecidamente probar la tarta de GF incluso si no eres GF es tan bueno y nunca sabrías que era GF!

Nuestros chocolates calientes eran muy sabrosos, absolutamente ninguna queja allí. Tenía una rebanada de pastel de jengibre, que era encantador. Tuvo mucha patada de jengibre, lo que estuvo bien para mí, ya que me encanta el jengibre, pero tal vez no para algunos. La principal decepción se debió a la falta de opciones de menú sin gluten. La razón principal por la que elegimos comer aquí fue porque mi pareja era celíaca, y el tablero de menús anunciaba opciones sin gluten. Teniendo en cuenta las abundantes alternativas veganas en el menú, nos decepcionó encontrar que las opciones sin gluten consistían en un flapjack y un pastel. No había opciones saladas sin gluten disponibles, que es lo que mi pareja estaba buscando. Como resultado, tuvimos que ir a otro lugar después para que mi pareja pudiera comer. Es decepcionante que incluso en 2024 , cuando cada vez más establecimientos se dan cuenta de la necesidad de proporcionar opciones sin gluten, que un café con varias alternativas veganas diera comparativamente muchas menos opciones de comida sin gluten. Al final del día, el veganismo es una opción, la enfermedad celíaca no.

Viajo un poco por trabajo, y diré con orgullo que me encanta volver a casa en este café. Gran comida, ambiente acogedor, y golosinas para mi diente dulce cuando he estado saludable con mi comida. ¡Me encanta!

Green Earth Café es increíble; el personal es realmente encantador y amable, la comida es fresca casera y deliciosa; no he tenido un sándwich de 'huevo frito' desde que me hice vegano, así que estaba muy emocionado de probar y definitivamente me entregó. El café es café "apropiado"; calificado 10 / 10 por mi novio que es un barista. Estoy triste de que solo estemos visitando Bedford así que no puede venir todo el tiempo

Vine aquí en un cálido día de fin de semana. Estaba ocupado en la ciudad y también había algunas personas en el café. A pesar de esto, encontramos una mesa fácilmente y el servicio fue rápido. La comida era preciosa y me gustaría pedir lo mismo de nuevo. También me encanta que hay más en este lugar que solo un café, y disfruté navegando por los artículos hechos a mano para la venta también

A cosy friendly cafe with great food and arts and crafts. The food is homemade fresh, tasty and hot. Generous portions. The staff are very helpful. The arts and crafts are unique, amazing and affordable.

So good to find fully vegan places and this place is spot on! Friendly staff, Lovely environment and most importantly great food & reasonably priced!! Especially the all day breakfast (the scrambled egg tofu is delicious!)

Great little vegan menu and most items could be served as gluten-free. We really enjoyed our hot beetroot falafel gluten-free wraps. The coffee was very good but the only gluten-free cake was the granola/flapjack bar. Deceptively large cafe with plenty of seating but not too full on a Friday lunchtime. I wish them well in promoting sustainability.

We stopped off here, for afternoon drinks and some cake, friendly atmosphere, nice cake, good drinks.

I have only been a couple of times and as before, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The ambience is very good. The only negative point on this visit was the cake (lime +) was dry and not tasty.

Fantastic little cafe. Friendly personable staff, Lovely decor (real cozy with pleasant background music) open space so not cramped like many other places. Most importantly the food is excellent! 5 stars

Had lunch here of butter nut squash soup, and a "BLT" both were really tasty, the bread of the "BLT" was really gorgeous, followed by a piece of Victoria sponge, nice coffee and hot choc, friendly staff and some good music being played, The Specials and The Smiths to name a couple. Green Earth was close to excellent but it was quite a long wait for food

Fantastic vegan food, great music nice quiet atmosphere. great to do some work, to meet other people or just to chill out.

Visited here today with our family, such a warm friendly atmosphere, very helpful staff, serving great tasty vegan food. I occasionally enjoy a nice tasty steak but I could almost be converted after eating their bean Veggie burger. Our son who is totally Vegan ordered the Butternut squash Lasagna which I tasted & will try next time, Definitely worth a try when visiting Bedford town centre.

Had a lovely experience here. Went in for a catch up with family. The coffee was lovely! With a range of vegan friendly milks. Also vegan friendly lunches were lovely! The staff tray stood out to me, they worked together so well and were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Whilst in Bedford looking for a vegetarian lunch, was very disappointed with what looked to be an appetising start. Whilst the young man greeted us in a friendly way, we seemed to be unwelcome possibly because we were not 'vegan'. Not terribly busy, but really made to feel as if we were not welcome there, we ordered food to eat in but after a 45 minute wait after ordering had have it to takeaway, waffle topped with fruit and yogurt is not an ideal choice to eat on the move. Food had the potential to be good but service/atmosphere didn't match. Disappointing.

How great to have a fully vegan cafe in the centre of Bedford. The service is always with a smile and a friendly chat. There isn't loads to choose from however whatever is on the menu is always delicious. Home made ciabatta bread is lovely. There are always plenty of locally made items for sale which is great for gifts!

This is a great cafe. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The sweet treats/ cakes are so good! Its really nice to be able to find vegan treats and always such a good choice I find it difficult to decide what to buy. I have been a few times to sit down and have really enjoyed their wraps to takeaway too. There is enough room if you have buggies which is always a bonus. And there are some really lovely local craft items on sale including eco choices which are great for gifts or treating yourself

Wanted a vegan brunch. Limited menu as the are between chefs. But very much enjoyed the lasagna with salad. Coffee also good. The gifts are interesting & well made. Nice atmosphere.

My sister and I recently found this café after searching for vegan coffee shops in Bedford. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very inviting. I loved the decor of the shop as well and the gifts they had on sale. I am a big fan of oat milk and the fact they us Oatly is a big thumbs up! The coffee was perfect and so were the cakes. I will definitely be returning and recommending this café.

We were looking forward to eating here after reading other reviews. The cafe is quite roomy with a fewattractive quirks - traffic lights, anyone?Our serverwas friendly, and prices reasonable. Unfortunately, we found the menu rather limited, and the food, while ocviously fresh and showing care in preparation, rather bland. My partner found the gnocci to have an unpleasant texture, and couldn't finish it. My all day breakfast, on the contrary, generally scored higher on texture than any real taste; and I could't really get on with wilted spinach in brunch. We weren't tempted to stay for desserts. We haveenjoyed vegan/vegetarian meals elsewhere, but this cafe didn't do it for us.

I’m vegetarian, but visited with my vegan friend, and I’m glad we did. We both had the gnocchi, which was to die for! After some hot drinks, we also had cake - I’d thoroughly recommend the carrot cake.The setting was lovely as well, with lots of arts and crafts for sale, and a lovely atmosphere, even though it’s located in the box office of the Corn Exchange. Will certainly be visiting again.

Excellent coffee and best vegan mushrooms on toast I've ever had. Don't be put off if you aren't vegan neither am I - the food was home made and the cafe surroundings are lovely and the coffee is great

Had an amazingly tasty all day breakfast at Number 13. Rachel, as I’m sure everyone who has been before knows, is amazing and really embodies the positive, forward thinking yet down to earth attitude that you’d want from any top notch cafe! Add in the vegan aspect and you have a place that not only screams environmentally friendly but also caring, loving and passionate. I will be back and will recommend going forward. Looking forward to seeing everything this place offers in the future.

A welcome oasis of shade and calm with an excellent lunch, full of fresh vegetables and falafel. Really tasty and good value. It was so good we returned later for coffee and cake. Thank you No. 13 for making our day extra special.

I came across Made In Bedford back in May. I really love the sustainability concept behind the brand plus plant based food! My family and myself have been frequent visitors ever since and by now we have tried nearly everything from the menu; food is super delicious and the coffee is quite possibly the best one in town. Would definitely recommend everyone this place!

Ten out of ten for vegan food, smiley service, speed of service and an owner who obviously puts the customer first. In a desert of cafe and fast food mediocrity this is an oasis of food and drink excellence, even if you are not a vegan ... which I am not, this quirky and quietly understated establishment deserves to thrive, I defintely will be telling all my friends to seek this little gem out.

My wife & I enjoyed a beautiful vegan all-day breakfast here and we were blown away at the quality & taste of the food. The breakfast was expertly put together and the service from Rachel was second to none. There is also some wonderful local art work on display as well as for sale here. We didn't get to try some of the vegan cakes but will definitely be back for those - can't wait!

We had passion fruit cake and banana cake. Absolutely scrumdiddlyumptious! Coffees excellent too. The team there is very welcoming, friendly and proficient. Also has arts, crafts and other objects, all of which are made in Bedford. Superb selection.

Although not vegan or vegetarian I visited because I wanted to support the cafe which supports local suppliers. I found the customer service to be the best I have experienced for a long time. There’s real personal treatment for every customer.

This is a brand new venture by Made in Bedford, a group of Bedford artisans. The coffee is roasted locally and is definitely the best coffee I’ve tasted in ages. All the food is sourced and made locally or on the premises. All food is either vegetarian or vegan. However for an avid meat eater like me, I didn’t miss the meat. The service is by the artisans themselves and done with a smile.

The food and drinks just before, and during, the event at the Corn Exchange was very good value and good service - recommended.

Estuvimos aquí en un día muy lluvioso y con viento para un desayuno tardío y fue excelente. Posiblemente el mejor inglés completo que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Excelentes salchichas de calidad, tocino y black pudding con té y café 5,50 libras. Esperando el personal encantador, lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

the bar was very quiet considering town was busy we ordered a wine and beer but was given 2 wines and had to order the beer again , music was so loud bar staff could not hear and considering there was onl 6 people inside it didnt need 2 b so loud

Had the two for £8.00 meal with a friend. Most impressed , the fish and chips were excellent with fresh salad. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be visiting there again.

Mi marido tenía roll focaccia y patatas fritas, 12 años tenía una envoltura y una ensalada. Todo salió muy bien presentada y sabor fresco y delicioso. coca-cola de dieta en botellas siempre una ventaja para mí!

Had a three course lunch , all courses very well cooked and presented , tasty fresh food . Staff very friendly and attentive . I would definitely recommend it .

The ambience was very dark. Ther was a meagre choice of wine by the glass. The beer was flat. it seems to be a watering hole or office for Bedford Borough Council staff.
