Number 10 in Fife

We visit at least twice a month and have never had cause to complain until today, the young girl who served us was clearly unhappy about something and showed it after keeping us standing for 10 minutes she showed us to a table which had not been cleaned and she never uttered a word it was very uncomfortable I hope this was a one off as we like this place , polar opposite was the older girl who was really nice and pleasant.

Very nice, stylish place in a small Scottish town, went there for lunch. Had chicken Caesar salad, 1/2 which is a decent size portion, very tasty, nice service, I recommend this place.

This spot is great for a couple. Good service, great choice on menu, half portions available. Reasonable price so excellent value for money.

Absolute rip off!! I bought a Small caramel latte to takeaway it was £3.95?! I bought a medium caramel latte from Starbucks yesterday £4.25! Don’t waste your money at this place. They say ‘shop small’ but how can you when you’re being ripped off. Photo attached of size difference. The small coffee looked like a glorified espresso size.

First visit here, staff were friendly, but the service was very slow. Ordered a small steak pie, and it was tiny. Four small cubes of beef, one of which was all fat, square of pastry, two tiny pieces of carrot, three small potatoes halved, a little gravy and the biggest portion on the plate the peas.might be helpful if it was explained that the portion was probably for a child. It was however hot and tasted nice.

I regularly visit for takeaway coffee, service is always great. The girl who served me is always so friendly. Thank you!

Unfortunately disappointing. Went with as a group of 3 and it was the first time we had been under the new management after having a very disappointing experience when the restaurant first opened. Our experience started off positive when looking at the menu and drinks list which for cupar seemed particularly impressive. However, our food for the price was lackluster. We ordered the fish and chips which was very greasy, the chicken burger which had a tiny portion of chicken and chicken and mushroom pasta which only had a couple of small pieces of chicken and mushroom which may have been frozen and/or microwaved. We ate what we did and didn't complain at the time because we were hungry. Service also wasn't particularly attentive and we weren't asked how our meal was, which if asked, one particular member of our group would have complained. Where we were sitting we could also see kitchen staff openly eating their own food from outside the restaurant in the kitchen. Will potentially be back for drinks but unfortunately there are better spots in town for food.

Have been to Number 10 a few times for coffee, cake or toast. Staff are friendly & competent Food is average. What really lets them down is the state of the toilet. Door never shuts properly and every time there seems to be some botch job done on the lock. It's been like this most of the year, time to get it sorted properly! Unsafe!

Warm welcome from staff. Speedy service. Promptly given food and drinks menus. Drinks were brought over very quickly which included a cocktail. The food was brought out swiftly after ordering (think because we mentioned we were starving haha) we ordered a steak pie, chips, peas and carrots, also a crispy chicken burger topped with cheese, this came with a side of chips, homemade onion rings and homemade coleslaw (which was amazinggg). All food was piping hot and fresh. We waited a while before ordering desserts. We had a biscoff cheesecake with ice cream and the brownie with ice cream (both delicious) 2 empty plates and the cheese cake was like a door wedge. We had another 2 rounds of drinks after this. Left with 2 full tummys. This place gives great vibes. Good value for money. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Would defo recommend and will be returning very soon (probably next weekend again haha) great job Number 10 and hats off to the chef.

Took my mother and eldest son for a quick brunch. Delicious hot filled rolls and my lad had the big Breakfast- he said it was amazing! He didn’t want the haggis so Chef gave him an extra sausage- top notch food and great service from the staff. We will be back next time we are in Cupar. Keep up the great work folks!

Terrible had a cuppacino and a cake. Cuppacino was so strong had to use 20 sweetex tablets and then it was still Terrible and the carrot cake was also very dry don't think I'll be going back there really dissatisfied

Had a lovely lunch with my husband for my birthday. Food was great and staff very friendly. Will definitely be back and recommend to give it a try.

Our party of six all thoroughly enjoyed their evening meals. The food was hot and tasty and the service was good. The only downside to our meal was the group of smokers outside the restaurant. With the door fully open, their smoke carried all the way to the back of the restaurant.

Once again a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble for Cherise and her team. Relocate us? No trouble. One of our party running late? No trouble. Having a starter as a mains? No trouble. Service was quick discreet and professional. Special mention here to the team in the kitchen. The food tasted amazing and most importantly was piping hot. Adi and his team along with Cherise and her team pulled out all the stops to make what was an important day for me even more Special. In terms of value for money I couldn't fault that. Every one enjoyed the experience and some who hadn't been here before went away talking about the place. Really good value. Really good professional standards. Excellent food. What more can one ask for???

Have been coming here since it opened, had many a good meal. However tonight's was nothing like I/we have experienced. Staff were all good however the portion size was drastically reduced from previous meals and Nothing like their advertised photo. I did complain and the response was "that's the size of fish we got in". If the Owner reads this please respond as I have photographic evidence of the goldfish and dozen chips on a £14.50 portion meal! Wouldnt even fulfill a kids meal never mind adults. Left very disappointed.......and still hungry :-(

Went into number 10 with son. Friday evening we had tea and some drinks. Staff very friendly and food very good. We were so impressed that we went back Saturday for breakfast before going to a festival and returned in the evening for tea. Staff and food were excellent on each occasion. Being in Scotland I even had haggis for breakfast and very nice it was to.

My family and I popped in on our way back from a family holiday. The restaurant itself looks quite nice when you enter and once shown a menu for lunch we decided to stay. We were told that there would be a slight delay due to it being a busy time. The restaurant was far from being full but we accepted this and sat at an upstairs table. The menu listed a good selection of lunch options but we will never know what they taste like. We placed our order and waited for our meals (soup, fish and chips, kid’s sausage and chips etc.). Around 45 minutes the waitress came to us and said that our food was just being prepared… After 60+ minutes or so of waiting, with a 5 year and 1 year old, we asked for an update on our meal and were told that it was just being plated and would be a further 2-3 minutes. We waited a further 10 minutes and decided to leave. The experience was very frustrating, made even worse that we watched other tables, who arrived after we did, being served their food. No consideration was given to the fact we had young kids. Both left in tears due to being hungry. A very disappointing experience all round.

We went in for a coffee, but decided to have some food, we ordered garlic mushrooms, truffle chips, and brushetta,garlic prawns arrived (didn't order) sent back ,then the chips and what was supposed to be brushetta was two doorstep slices of soggy bread and a pile of tomatoes and onions thrown on top,I have had it before and it was delicious served the way a brushetta should be, I explained this to the waitress who was very apologetic and she returned it to the kitchen, (still waiting for garlic mushrooms)we were sat upstairs quite close to the kitchen , when suddenly the chef came out hands on hips looking up at us giving us the look,I felt very intimated by this and spoke to the waitress in charge and explained I was very intimated by her and it was not at all good practice, surely she should have came up and apologised not standing staring looking like she wanted to slap us!!! I have ptsd and to do that to me is unbelievable she doesn't know what people are dealing with everyday, she should be kind, own it that a paying customer didn't like her food and do better next time. So we paid for what we had (chips and 2 drinks was all that made it to the table) and left ,If she is on we won't be back,which is unfortunate as the rest of the staff were fantastic.

We went despite hearing poor reviews and hoped for the best. Unfortunately should have gone with our gut instinct and got a greggs. The food was pretty crap, all at different temperatures (how can chips be lukewarm and the accompaniment burn your mouth?!) Our table wasn't cleaned and we had to ask for cutlery and condiments to be brought after food arrived. Overall the price doesn't reflect the venue. Cafeteria vibes with upmarket delusions. Grab a steak bake next time ;)

Under new management Number 10 have really upped their game! Food has been fantastic, delicious cocktails and great service. This has been for lunch and tea visits. Great atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights. Looking forward to going back and trying the breakfast menu!
