Nu Delhi in Belfast

Wow pre birthday treat. Local colleague took us for ting curry night. Wow. Probably the best curry house I have ever frequented around the globe. Starter amazing food. Main same again. Every thing band on as the locals would say. Top place 100%.

Found this a short walk from hotel we stayed at not your typical curry menu and some good options on offer with choice for veggie/vegan diners too Excellent service too Only complaint was that menu had main course listed as lamb rogan Josh which I assumed would be the price shown on menu but was charged a £1 extra when bill came This was mentioned on the menu but didn’t say it related to all dishes ok the menu which is frustrating

An impromptu gathering of colleagues lead to a very good evening. The waiter, Adil, rapidly found us a table and kept us well served all evening. The food was good with my chicken tikka madras being a change from the normal.

This restaurant served us delicious food, with fresh flavours and beautiful presentation. It was the tasty meal I've eaten in a while. The restaurant was buzzin' even at half5. There were families and groups starting their night out. There were lots of staff who were very efficient and friendly. Our server Divya was great and very professional. I can't wait to go back.

Brilliant service and delicious food. We were especially well looked after by Satyam, Arkam and Tarun who were so welcoming and attentive for our first visit here. Will be back!

This was my second trip to this restaurant during stays in Belfast. Food was very tasty and decent portions. Staff were very friendly. Make sure to book ahead, it was practically full on a Monday night. Recommend highly.

It’s a strange thing that people write reviews with one brilliant script and then disappear giving a place like this Nu Delhi top ratings. Well we went and were very disappointed. Soggy Onion Bhajis With smear of sweet chill sauce on a plate. Curries are smooth purred sauces with little texture. Seasoning was weak and flavours disjointed. Service is prompt and staff are encouraged to check throughout.

Such a great place for a curry. We love a good curry and try and find one wherever we go in the world and this has to be one of the best ones we’ve had. We went on a Friday night and found it easy to book a table. We were seated quickly and the staff were really friendly. Food came quickly and was gorgeous. We thought that all the food we chose had a great amount of spice and flavour.

Got takeaway for treat for family birthday. The best way to describe the food is that it doesn't taste like any Indian food I've had before The chicken dishes had plenty of chicken, the pilau rice was yellow and very sticky, the mushroom rice was the same but with a few chopped mushrooms thrown in ? The garlic , chilli dish had jalapeño peppers almost raw chopped in, very Mexican just odd and didn't enhance the dish at all. Tikka masala was bad, under seasoned and almost bitter. It really lacked the gentle wonderful flavours of Indian cuisine. Even the little spicy onion chutney was strange, very sugary but hot. 4 of us ate the takeout and no one enjoyed it. Wouldn't order again.

Been here a few times, always busy, best to book no matter what day of the week. Service is very efficient, food is very tasty. Adil in particular always looks after us. Highly recommended for a great curry with a lively atmosphere and a modern twist.

Ordered the Chicken Tikka and some rice - got home and saw the colour of the curry which I knew was just wrong, its bright red and sugary. Hardly taste spices at all. Pretty tikka’d off mate. Won’t be back.

The guys here helped us out at getting 12/13 of us around a table. The service from the team was great although we all did find that the curries were all too hot (hotter than we're used to in North London). Either way, great service and atmosphere and would love to go again but not have to rely on yogurt to get me through the meal!

Cannot speak highly enough of this place. Down to the little things, they get everything right. Menus that cater really well for vegans and gluten free, great cocktails that don't cost the earth and really friendly, personable service. Prices were really good for a place that was so high end. Big shout out to Adil for looking after us, especially on the recommendations and being so tuned in on the dietary needs at the table. Exactly the kind of banter we were looking for in Belfast. And to whomever decided to put honeycomb in the jawbox cocktail - you're a genius

TL;DR - very loud and inappropriate for a nice meal. Asked to move twice, when there were tables available in a quieter part of the restaurant, first time ignored, second time told not possible? Some have said it’s overhyped, its beyond that. Terrible experience. Only appropriate for large groups on a stag, or out for a rowdy night. Loud R&B music, not authentic, overcooked chicken and lacking flavour. more like a pub that happens to serve Indian inspired food. Staff didnt care if we were having a nice time or enjoying our meal.

We had a beautiful dinner here which was made even better by the brilliant service. Our waiter noticed I found my dish too spicy and offered to make it more mild for me. He brought out a whole new dish and could not have been nicer about it. We had the butter chicken and monkfish curry which were both delicious. The atmosphere was great too! We would return.

Came across this restaurant whilst visiting Belfast and it was one of the nicest foods I've tasted. Amazing menu, good prices and even better service. Satyam was brilliant and recommended some great local places to see! Would highly recommend.

My flight got cancelled last week and I end up staying extra night and visited this wonderful restaurant. Staff were very nice professional and welcoming. Lauxley was great he helped me choose from Menu I was muddled as I have not been to restaurant on my own but he was kind enough to give me some ideas. Eventually I ordered banquet meal which was great absolutely delicious. Another girl called Ishika came to me and asked if everything is ok and if I need anything she was very polite and have a great smile on her face which make me more comfortable as I was dinning solo. She is a real asset to you as u need staff like her she gives best customer service and again food was delicious 😋😋😋so credit also goes to the chef

First time here, food, staff and ambience great, two not so good things happened. I asked for poppadoms but was unaware i would be charged £3 extra for a chutney tray i didn’t use, maybe this should be explained on menu or asked do you want to order not assumed. I am disabled and the disabled toilet was a disgrace, it didn’t flush and no running tap water, no sign on door to say any issues, very disappointed about this.

Neela was the most beautiful, kind and amazing waitress . All the staff were amazing. I would totally recommend this place. Neela is brilliant!!

Excellent meal!!!! Every aspect of our meal was perfect! We’ve been to loads of curry houses around the UK, and I can say hands down, this one is the best.

This was our squid starter for £7.45.

Decent. It’s not like one of the new wave (e.g. Dishoom, Bundobust or Mowgli), but more of a modern feeling Indian restaurant. - The staff have headsets and patrol the floor so are generally on top of drinks and food requirements. - The cocktails didn’t taste of alcohol. - the Royal tandoori platter is pretty average apart from the monkfish, which was really good. I’d order a plate of that next time. - Chutneys only and no pickle for the poppadoms - the curries are nice. 3 chillies is a decent spice level. I wouldn’t have liked 4 or 5. - Achari lamb curry was really well flavoured and the meat was tender - Chicken khurchan was also quite nice - Naans were light and buttery

Food is lovely and fresh cooked to a high standard. Service is excellent staff are on the ball and very polite. Would shave a few marks off as i love a beer with my curry and the draught beer goes flat but they do have bottled options.

I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants and this one tops it for me... the service, attention to detail, and the food were 100%. The kind of meal, you didnt want it to end!. Only downfall, no traditional desserts on the menu, but I wouldn't hold it against them!.

My only complaint is paying £105 for two people and being given 1.5 hrs. I think 2 hrs is more reasonable felt rushed .

It was a bit overcrowded, but the food was mote than worth it. We were served by 3 lads - Saytam, Aoil and Arkam. One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had.

A pre panto meal in Nu Dehli certainly got us in the Christmas vibes. The restaurant had a great buzz and the Santa hats added to the festive vibes. The staff were so attentive and went that extra mile especially Adil. My nephew wanted to give Adil a special mention as he thought he was friendly, funny and very good at his job! To top it off our meals were delicious. A great restaurant in every way.

Fantastic meal at Nu Delhi. We ordered from the Christmas menu, lamb taka tak and then Butter Chicken with a Peshwari naan. Also tried the chilli and Garlic naan which was also amazing. Thanks to Adil for the great service and recommendations! Looking forward to going back.

Have eaten here before and have always had a lovely experience but tonight was very poor. Our meal felt very rushed. We, hadn't finished our poppadoms when out starters arrived and then before we'd finished our starters they'd arrived with out main course. Rather than taking them back to the kitchen they left them on the table. Then at the end of the meal we'd asked for the bill they kept us waiting 20 minutes before bringing the bill. There were plenty of free tables and there didn't appear to be anyone waiting for our table. I don't understand the rush!.

We booked a table for 9.30. When we arrived we were told the resturant closes at 10pm. We were rushed to order our food and did not feel our business was appreciated. The food came out of the kitchen rather too quickly imo. The food was bland and tasteless. The kind prawns were tough. The curry was just chicken in bland curry sauce after ordering a chefs recommended dish. Why people are rating the resturant so highly is puzzling. I am from Birmingham and the worst Indian resturant there would be better than this. Very disappointed.

We had a gorgeous meal here last night, and the cocktails were to die for - highly recommend the Butterfly Mai-Tai! The service was first class, and our waitress, Neela, was just lovely and very attentive throughout. Will definitely be back!

I’m a regular business visitor to Belfast and have eaten here a few times now - very close proximity to holiday inn. Staff are very friendly and on this occasion was served by Neela who was again very friendly and was always there if I had questions but she never rushed me. The food is always good and as long as you understand it is pricier than most similar restaurants you shouldn’t be disappointed. The kulcha bread (onion) is fantastic and a lighter option to naan. Popadoms, king prawn starter, lamb main, mushroom rice, kulcha bread, pint and a half of cobra = £52. It’s always busy so best to book. 4 star and not 5 due to price.

We received constant messages after we booked asking us to confirm, again and that they would require our table after the allocated time ended. The restaurant is situated above shops. It was very busy. Free santa hats were supplied. We were sat in a nice snug area. From the moment we sat down, we were rushed. We decided on the set menu, as the regular menu wasn't supplied until we asked for it. The poppadoms and dips (runny & not well seasoned) were listed as the starter. The food was not well seasoned. We didn't have desserts as it was obvious the table was required. We left within 1.5 hours of arrival!
