Bengal cottage in Belfast

Paid 17 quid for mix on chips and the chips heated up from night before and half cooked asked for salad got nothing.NEVER AGAIN

Just when I was about to give up on takeaways I decided to try Bengal Cottage. The food from here was fresh and delicious, the onion bhajees were freshly made and not stodgy and they weren’t afraid of the chilli 🌶️ Arrived right on time as well.

My favourite kebab spot in Belfast from the munchie boxes, to the hot messy kebabs or even the chicken tikka masala this spot never disappoints. I always recommend to anyone who asks for a good kebab. The customer service is always great, the female delivery driver is so sound.

Top kebabs and tandoori grill as ever, not bettered imo. Biryani, chaat and tikka masala also favourites here.

Nice sauces, very tough lamb and did not enjoy. would order chicken next time. My partner got chicken and was good quality. Otherwise nice. Our first time ordering. You get a lot less these days from an Indian but this is across all takeaways it seems. Used to get free poppadoms and dips and even sometimes a Kobra thrown in when ordering a few main meals. (Long gone are those days).

Lamb chili masala is outstanding. Nicest I’ve ever tasted. It’s my go to everytime from here. The pakora feast is a lovely little starter aswell. Only down side is the rice can be a wee bit watery on the plate.

Normally I love this place. I was so looking forward to it this evening. Unfortunately I choose a different meal to what I normally get. The lamb curry had a really strong bitter taste of cumin. The rice was full of water that absolutely soaked my naan bread. Very disappointing tonight.

Ordered so many times ,regular customer. Food is fresh , great quality chicken . I’ve had tikka , regularly and chicken curry . They’re great . I Was recommended , so glad I went . Friendly staff which also .

Top kebabs, all meats are great including steak, which loads of other places serve too tough/chewy. Tandoori grill options have been a winner too, highlight being the prawns.

Absolutely beautiful food. Another review had mentioned the onion bhaji being tasty & they’re weren’t wrong, was delicious. I had got the mixed starter & the lamb in it was so tender. Also ordered korma which was a bit sweeter than others i’ve tasted but was still very enjoyable. Will definitely order from here again.

There is over 3 bulbs of garlic in one dish….. it’s …. Burning by eyes….

Food could have been abit warmer. Munch box mostly consisted of chips a bit more kebab meat would be nice but overall my order was tasty 😋

We got the Mixed Platter for starter which is absolutely delicious. The different meats were to die for with the best onion bhaji I’ve ever tasted. For main we had the jalfrezi which had the most delicious, succulent chicken and a spicy but very very tasty sauce. Naan, Poppadoms and spiced onion dip were also absolute perfection. I’d highly recommend the Bengal Cottage. Absolutely Excellent

Tandoori king prawns were indeed delicious, along with that sensational hot messy kebab. The folks at the takeaway and delivery drivers are a pleasure to deal with.

Back again for another 5 star review - I’m convinced these guys are some Einstein level culinary geniuses… the tandoori prawns had my crying tears of joy 🥲

Delicious as always. Lamb biriyani excellent, curry sauce spicy but not burn your mouth off!! Have had takeaways from here before, never been disappointed.

Hot messy kebab and chicken chaat are real treats, as is the biryani. Friendly team. Made me a regular.

Really delicious curry! We wanted to try a new Indian takeaway and so glad we went for here. The rogan josh and the dal masala side dish were so good.

Have ordered twice now. Curries have been delicious, flavoursome and made with good quality ingredients. One of best we've had in the city. Would recommend.

Food is absolutely delicious! Fresh and made with quality ingredients, the best Indian in Ulster (trust me I had quite a few of them). Staff are so lovely and accommodating. You won’t regret eating from here. The best madras I ever had and bengal lamb acharri special is fantastic too.

food is amazing, I'm working my way through the menu and can't wait for my next order! garlic chili chicken is the best so far but very hot. owner and staff are very friendly, would highly recommend this place.

First time getting from here and must say the food was absolutely beautiful! Chips where so so nice, me & the hubby both got Chicken Tikka Masala and it was lovely. Shop was clean 5 star clean rating and staff where pleasant also. Our new go to takeaway!!!

Delicious food as ever, great Biryani and the hot messy kebab is one of the best you can get here. Flawless and friendly delivery.

The service is good but the food is better

Disappointed by the amount of chicken in my curry. 4 or 5 bits not really enough. Naan bread pretty small compared to other places. Kebab mest was dry and probably not cooked fresh. For what we spent I know we get better elsewhere.

Got a vindaloo 24/04/24. Sauce was perfect flavour and perfect heat. Complements to the chef. It would be very hard to go anywhere else from now on 😙👌 Nice staff too. Thank you.

Very impressed with the service and the food. Cooked fresh, lots of vegetables - tasty and great quality. The menu has lots of dishes that you dont see elsewhere. Ordered two mains and some sides for £30. Thoroughly recommend.

Great staff , friendly and super clean kitchen . Food is delicious , great portion sizes . Can tell chicken is great quality . Ordered kids meals this time : perfect size , masala is so flavoursome . Amazing fresh food and high quality meat , chicken tastes delicious .bhuna , Balti , tikka Curries etc . Great portion size . I have ordered kids portions for anyone wanting a small portion . Or keeping the kids happy I really recommend ordering . Friendly polite staff , super clean restaurant , can see straight into the kitchen .

My 5th or 6th time ordering . Was recommended to try here so glad I did . Food is fresh and delicious . I’ve had numerous curries , Balti , bhuna , tikka , korma , biyrani etc . Chicken is great quality . Great portions and always hot . Kids curries are great portions also ! I’ve ordered all three kids meals and amazing for the price . Friendly and professional staff .

this was a good kebab overall - very tasty and spicy as described. only thing i would change is to have more chicken and less of the doner meat to balance it out a bit.

Really Fresh Got chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. and ordered a cheese nan. food was really tasty and fresh. only disappointment was I got plain nan instead on the cheese one. but 10 out of 10

Bengal Cottage is just so good. got a lamb Balti and some poppadum's and chutney, all really fresh and tasty. Best curry in Belfast by far.

Decided to try Bengal Cottage for the first time. I like my curry hot so was recommended to try Naga and it didn't disappoint.... delicious, hot and flavoursome with good quality chicken. Excellent service and a friendly welcome.

The food was very bland, no veg 8n the dishes just meat and sauce. Will we go back again, no, there are better indian restaurants nearby.

So read all the reviews on just eat and thought yea we will give it a go. The food was just ok, nothing out of this world. Will we get out of it again, no sorry we wont be, there are defo better indian take aways near by.

Really good curries and an amazing kebab ("hot messy kebab" which I couldn't NOT order). One thing to improve would be adding paratha to the menu as it's the best type of bread.

Amazing, food top quality dishes and super fast services will be back again , I think I'll be trying all the dishes

Had twice out of here, firstly I cant fault the quality of the food, the food is very nice, however the portion sizes are pretty pathetic though. The munchy boxes are particularly poor portions, the box is half empty for the price of it and there is a severe lack of donor meat. Also the onion rings aren't onion rings, they are hash browns in the shape of an onion ring. The mix platter starter is also pathetic in size despite supposedly being for 2 people, only 1 onion bhagi in it! The curry portion sizes also woeful, they are like kids meals! As I said, the food is nice but you really need to sort out the portion sizes especially now the 50% off is ending! Hope you take the constructive criticism on board, thanks.

Really impressed. I got the Sallie with veg. Very fragrant, the fried potato sticks were a tasty twist. Lots of veg and a couple of cubes of paneer. My partner got the Naga with lamb and it's HOT might be a 4 or 5 on the heat scale. Still very tasty, a nice smokey base flavour. A must if you like heat. Will definitely order from here again and a good addition to the Cregagh.

Food was awesome. The curries were very thick, tasty and really felt like authentic home cooked food.

I tried a number of dishes on the first day of opening. All delicious, really good quality and full of flavour. And plenty of meat-free options. A very welcome addition to the Cregagh road.

Had onion bhaiee which was crispy and very tasty, chicken tikka masala with rice, chicken was so tenner and packed with tikka flavour and rice ccoked well,, garlic nan was lovely real proper nan😊. Overall meal was nice and light had a gorgeous meal and staff are very pleasant Thank you 100% meal

Blown away by the quality of the food here. Tikka masala was perfect with massive succulent chicken chunks. Started with a distinct tikka taste and built a mild warmth as the dish progressed. Salted chilli chicken starter, loads of flavour, texture of the chicken in these was to die for. I'd add photos but to be honest the plate was cleared by the time I thought to take any 😂😂
