Very welcoming. All very good. A little expensive.

I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The Nepali-style chicken biryani and Himalayan choila were incredibly flavorful and delicious. To top it off, the staff surprised me with a cake, played a birthday song, and even offered complimentary sparkling wine. Their warm gesture made the evening truly special. Highly recommend for both the food and the hospitality!

Placed an expensive order and received one poppadom and no dips, not even the one that should come with onion bhajis.

Food was very tasty, the owner was very kind and friendly, but when it came to ordering and about being informative about the potions, wasn't that good of a communicator , hence we ended up ordering 2 rottie potions, where one would have been enough to share among 2 people ,with another main dish, 1 rottie = 4 slices. Though the food was tasty, felt the food prices were higher by 25% - 30% higher than the average price. All in all compared to the last menu published here in Google reviews the price was up by GBP 2-3. We were only 2 adults and 6 year old. The kids meal was GBP 10+ for (Chips and Nuggets) which is quite a high price in my belief. A starter potion comes to more than GBP 8+ . Main dishes ranges from GBP 19+. Took fairly a long time to serve the food. For total of 2 adults and 1 kid the cost was GBP 79, The highest we have paid to dine in, in Belfast. Chicken Momo - GBP 8.95 ( for 4 small dumplings) Kids Nuggets & Chips - GBP 10.95 ? Aloo Parata (Potion - 4 slices) - GBP 3.95 Garlic Coriander Naan(Potion - 4 slices) - GBP 3.50 Himalayan Special Curry - GBP 19.95 ( Small potion size for an exorbitant price charged) Chicken Tikka Biryani - GBP 20.95 (Potion size small for the price charged) Small sprite - GBP 2.95 Still water - GBP 3.50 Large Coke - GBP 4.20 Total Bill - GBP 78.90

I would highly recommend Himalayan. I came here with family for my birthday, and had a fantastic evening. The food was beautiful, the service was exceptional (special thank you to Prakash), and the atmosphere was brilliant. We were made feel so welcome and we will definitely be returning!

We tested the takeaway service. Super nice and helpful boss, he will speak to you in French if you tell him you come from there. The price is really affordable and the ambiance of the restaurant is immaculate. The frontage may leave something to be desired but it is worth the effort.

Party of 6 adults Excellent food and an abundance of Gluten Free options, lived up to searches indicating Himalayan as one of the best Indian restaurants in Belfast. Arrived earlier evening and first customers in, but received a warm welcome and filled up with other customers. Staff were excellent all night, menu recommendations were spot on, and a couple of our party received a celebratory treat which was a wonderful gesture. Nepalese specialities from the menu were extremely tasty!

A great restaurant all round, service was very outstanding, food was amazing and well priced! I was well looked after the entire time.

Food was delicious littler later than expected but can’t fault the restaurant for that.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They work above and beyond. Great customer service. The ambience and the atmosphere of the restaurant is top rated. The dining area is not very congested unlike other restaurants where the noise of everyone talking side by side is a nuisance. The food is superb, gorgeous and very authentic. I highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back.

Delicious authentic Nepali food with many vegan and vegetarian options. We had the veg momos, tofu masala, and dahl makhani. All delicious but the tofu masala especially stood out. Very friendly owner.

Avoid this place! We went to this restaurant yesterday and it was the worst restaurant experience I have had in my life. After a 15 minute conversation with the annoyingly chatty waiter that asked us whether we were only friends or "friends", we ordered solely vegetarian dishes, emphasising a dozen times that we are vegatarians. Our first starter, supposedly vegetarian momos (dumplings), arrived fairly quickly. However, after we finished them the waiter came back with another plate of dumplings, telling us that the ones we ate were chicken dumplings and these were the vegetarian ones. He didnt apologise, but instead blamed us for not having been able to identify the chicken in the dumplings. The main waiter tried to "save" the situation by telling us that he is also a vegetarian and therefore understands how I feel now. However, he then said that it is all in my head and that I can be lucky it is not a food allergy. Even worse, he also said that the kitchen confuses the food quite often and that this is not the first time it has happened. This restaurant clearly does not care about people's dietary restrictions.

Nice ambience, after a long time had good food that reminded me of Indian flavours and home food. 10/10 would visit again.

Went here on our honeymoon. The manager put up congratulation signs and really made our experience pretty great! It also helped that the food was spectacular.

Food was very mediocre I swapped my dhansak with my wife's achari because she found hers too hot. Strangely enough they both tasted the same. The waiter was rather cold and never asked was we enjoying our food, he just came and took our dishes away not acknowledging us in the slightest. If you are visiting Belfast like us then give this place a wide berth.

Ordered Kadai Paneer and chicken tikka masala. Both the curried were nowhere close to tasting like Indian food. Chicken tikka masala was sweet with lots of food colouring.

Banging Dal Makhani. Also had tandoori prawn, which was fine, Chow mein which was very spicy and veg momos which were below average. Very good taste. These were medium hot spicy dishes and they were perfect except the chow mein which was too spicy. We also had cheese garlic naan and pulao rice. Everything was cooked to perfection. Giving it only 3 stars on food because I was not able to try non veg since they offer religion specific meat and some items were not that good.

Just ordered a delivery costing £55and ould not even eat my curry. I ordered a chana masala which is mild and listed as on the website and it blew the head off me. Not even a nice spice it literally just tatsed like baked beans with a whole jar hot chilli pepper. I called the restuand kindly request a fresh curry be sent out that is mild as advertised the man told me i would need to come to the restaurant which is not feasible or that I recieve a refund. I tried to explain that I had ordered before and really enjoyed it and that £55 is a lot of money for food and he basically could not care to listen as he just continued to say they has no driver available depite me only recieving the delivery 5 minutes prior. So just said are you going to just let a possibly loyal customer be left with plain nann and rice and he just said there was nothing he can do. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from someone that has no problem taking your money. The call disconnected and then when i redialled my number fot blocked - keep in my mind I did not swear or raise my voice but simply stated that he will be losing a customer and getting a really bad review. He also blocked my boyfriends number when he rang. So immature and should not be near the public eye if he cannot take slight criticism about substandard food. Please avoid I do not want this man ever to receive custom as he does not deserve it.

Came to this restaurant last weekend as a visitor from down south I payed with euro on my card, we got popadoms x2 chicken korma x2 rice and x2 alcohol drinks, not wine, food was nice payed with my card never looked at the price until I checked my online banking the following day, for what we got it cost €70, we added up the cost trough there website and got charged like 30 pounds extra for sitting in and having a meal, any person sitting in here to have a meal would advise you to check your bill before payment, was not happy over this found it very expensive for x1 appetiser x2 mains x2 drinks x2 Nan bread, wouldn’t not come back to this restaurant

Hey, To be honest it was a great disappointment, as the food doesn't have a taste that I was expecting, it really was not worth the money. I ordered chilli chicken which in actual meant to be spicy but this was like a creamy sweet taste with no spices in it, there was too much sweet chilli and no chicken also the momos were much worse and was raw. I sure would not visit this place ever again. Sorry if this disappoint you the staff should have a smile on there face while serving I believe, which was nowhere to be seen when I got served.

What a lovely, friendly welcome we received. And all of our dishes (a mixture of chicken and vegan) were so tasty and reasonably priced.

I was extremely surprised at the treatment we got at this restaurant. I made an online reservation, but the manager / owner rejected it based on my name and number. That was a first of many other weird things that happened. He mentioned that the wait time is 15-20 minutes where at least 6 tables were empty and then we ended up with a table in 5 minutes. Plus he also handed us the menu at the waiting area expecting us to be quick in deciding what we need and after he chose not to even take our order. Then towards the end of the meal I saw him serving every white skinned customer a glass of wine or a drink and chose not to even indulge in offering water TBH. And on top of that he had the audacity to include a 15% gratuity without an option to remove it. I was shocked at being racially profiled by a person who belongs to a similar race as mine. Hope you treat your future customers with more respect and honor next time onward! It's a Pity we found a racist Nepalese man, when most other establishment owners with different ethnicities treated us WAY better!

A fairly un assuming set of stairs leads you up if street level into this delightful Restaurant. It's quite simple inside, which often us a good sign! Greater at the door with a very big smile and welcome, we gad a reservation for a quiet table and we sat in the corner near the window. A great spot to people watch. The menu read well and raking recommendations from our waiter we sat back. The food arrived in good order and I don't think I gave ever had lamb so succulent in such a tasty sauce, made to my requested and offered "heat" level. My dons Biriyani was delicious, tender, fragrant rice and delicious veg curry. Price fair for both portion service and quality. I would go there again, passing the door of other mire modern, trendy Indian restaurants.

Prakesh, the warm, welcoming face of the restaurant is a great host. Very friendly service, with great recommendations and conversation. The food is some of the best I've eaten in Belfast, of any cuisine. Couldn't recommend more.

A very warm welcome and delicious food!

I had a wonderful birthday dinner at Himalayan. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken tikki biyrani and it was very flavorful. I had the garlic naan bread too. Yummy. Our server was so incredibly nice and did everything to make my dinner special, even turned on the happy birthday song over the speaker and sang to me with a little dance. I cannot wait to come back.

Really great experience here tonight. Restaurant is nice, staff very friendly. Good menu with a choice of heat to be decided at the end. All reasonably priced with excellent portion sizes. Highly recommended for a good meal out.

Showed up for an early dinner and had a great time! Prakash (spelling?) was a great server and it was lovely talking with him. On his recommendation, we got the momos and they excellent! Greatly enjoyed my Punjabi Masala.

Had the best meal amd experience on Wednesday! Absolutely brilliant staff,food was so nice I went forild this time as it tends to be quite spicy but cannot fault this place also right in the centre of botanic so an easy bus to it from city centre Update! I will always use this as 1st choice indian food,staff are amazing,food is amazing but again I would ask for mild on hot dishes as they are very spicy

Came here because of the vegetarian options. I think the food was genuinely good and to my taste but I was very shocked at the small quantity that came out considering we were paying around £20 per meal. The service was good and our server was attentive. If you have the funds, sure, but there’s many other south Asian restaurants selling the same dishes for cheaper and in larger quantities. And maybe even better tasting.

Ambience in the restaurant was very nice. Service is very slow, there was only one person attending all tables. Food is expensive. They offer Buffalo meat options for most of their food options, it's not a pure veg restaurant.

We had eaten at a very good Indian restaurant (Nu Delhi) couple of nights ago, but was anxious to try this place. One word... OUTSTANDING! The server was super attentive, the naan bread was the best I have had, and the signature dishes were amazing! To top it off, the server brought us two glasses of sparking wine to end the evening... gratis. This is our last night in Belfast, but if we were here longer, it would be hard not to go there every night. Thank you!!

Sat in the restaurant and had delicious vegan starters and curries. The portions were perfect for two people sharing - the tofu masala was particularly good. The service was attentive and friendly, even giving us a complimentary drink at the end. £70 for two people having two starters, two mains, two sides and two beers.

Amazing food at very reasonable prices. And very friendly staff. So nice we went back a second time. And it was just as good! Big thank you to the staff at the Himalayas. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing authentic (I think ( I'm not Nepalese)) food with great service.

Forced me to write a review and pressured me to order when i found out it wasn’t halal. And just like that 10£ gone. It is not halal people. Don’t trust this store. They will of course say it’s halal but it’s not. I visited the store because I was craving a biriyani. There was no one in the store so I went to the counter to order. The staff was nice. He told me it’s not halal or something and I was about to leave until the owner saw me. He kept me there talking to me and I was uncomfortable. Asked me where I was from, forced me to google stuff and so on. Very very weird. And uncomfortable. And he got mad that I said I don’t want to order. He forced me to order and I had to cuz I felt bad and I was pressured. This man is manipulative. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST. he also forced me to write a review on trip advisor which is deleted since. I was jsut craving biriyani. Thanks for ruining my appetite and wasting an hour of my time. He also lied about it being halal. It’s not. He will say halal meat available on request and will give any meal they have. IT IS NOT HALAL AND DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE Not to mention the food which I gave it away to a homeless person. It looks like just chicken curry full of water and just white rice for maybe 12£. The price is too much hiked. Go to nu Delhi or an Indian restaurant across the street. AVOID THIS AT ALL COST

Too sweet. Not the butter chicken

I have to be honest with myself - I've never had such a sweet, jammy tikka massala in my life, I thought I was eating candy, awful, awful. I didn't feel the spices, just the sugar in there.

The biriyani was really bland, it wasn’t spicy and wasn’t seasoned appropriately. Disappointed.

Very average restaurant, not sure why there are some 5 star review from previous visitors, maybe things have changed since. Service was ok but food is very average, expensive for average dishes.

The food quantity is not enough for the price, as the prof each dish is really high. Also I felt like all the curry dishes tastes like same kinda sauce. We have tried garlic chilli chicken and king prawns puri; which both was taste the same.

I’d rate the food as pretty average, but the prices are well above average. Then they add 10% service charge, because there was more than four of us. This took a pint of Cobra from £7.00 to £7.70.

We booked online and got a call a couple of days before our visit where Pakesh reassured us that regarding Gluten free dishes. We arrived at the restaurant and the atmosphere was amazing, we did have a short wait but when the food came it was amazing. The staff were very attentive and Pakesh was a Star, he made our night he was so funny. If you want good food , entertainment & want an excellent choice of Gluten free dishes this is the place to go.

Fabulous meal, relaxed environment, Pakesh was amazing and helpful with suggestions. The food was gorgeous, our 3 boys all sampled delightful food (as well as their usual chicken nuggets) we tried one of the hymalayan specials and it was delicious along with a biryani which was gorgeous. Went on a friend's recommendation and will definitely return when we are back to Belfast

Yummy food, nice atmosphere and calming music. First time trying the food here, greeted by friendly staff and menu has a wide range of food options. You can also choose the spice level. Definitely worth coming by if your in the Botanic area.
