Novotel Manchester West in Salford

Stayed here on route from West Wales to North Yorkshire, so this was in a great location for us. Loved how quiet it was in the room, even though right next to main road. Also really liked the door in the hallway, between main door and bedroom area - think that also helped make it a lovely quiet stay. It was great that we could stay in this hotel with our dog too and the hotel garden was perfect for him. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially with my gluten free requirements. Buffet breakfast was great. The dinner was fine, but did not feel like the usual Novotel experience we are used to - but we havent stayed in a Novotel since before Covid so i guess like most places, things have changed re food offerings. We would stay again if we are passing through/visiting this area. Novotel Online booking system could be improved by including an option to add a dog to the actual booking - as I had to call the hotel direct and ask how do i include our dog in the booking and was told to put it in "special request" box.

Great hotel, lovely staff, amazing breakfast buffet!

Travelled in from London quite late , requests (made at time of booking weeks earlier) to have rooms close together were not granted, or seems not even considered. The was NO water to get ready in the morning. The only reason I stayed here was to attend a family wedding. There was 5 of us. I was later told via email that yes there was no water mid morning but it was fixed early afternoon. In what world does that help me? I left at 1pm there was still no water (early afternoon?? 🤔) and no indication of when it will be fixed. I was already late for my nieces wedding after waiting ages. I checked out and didn’t stay the following night. Reception staff were great. There was only one members staff at reception on the day in question, he couldn’t do much but tried his best to be empathic. Management of the property might be the issue. Never returning and Do not recommend.

This hotel has done us a great conference rate, big rooms, good food, and a filling breakfast. Will stay again.

Our daughter and family stay here when they visit after Christmas. We always join them for breakfast, which is excellent quality.

Wonderful staff and staff are all helpful. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfy. Great hotel in a great location and super dog friendly!

Very clean large rooms and great for a work trip. Had a nice size fridge, blow dryer, coffee maker in my room. The breakfast was great. Dinner food 🫤 meh but filled me if I wasn’t at a work dinner. Beer was fabulous. This isn’t a 5* hotel - but it was perfect for what I needed for the week.

Ive stayed here several times at Christmas time and never been disappointed. The staff are great, the facilites are great and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is amazing too. 10/10.

Fernando in the waistcoat was extremely aggressive towards female members of our party. Really disgusting to watch a member of staff be so mysogonistic. Absolutely terrible to see.

If only I could give 0 stars! Absolutely awful! I’ve never felt so uncomfortable as a women with aggressive angry staff, such a shame as the actual hotel is nice but the way the manager reacted towards people was just out of order! Fernando please respect women it’s not ok to leave people feeling uncomfortable.

Stayed for 4 nights. Great hotel, clean rooms, comfy beds. Extra sofa bed was already made up before we entered the room which was nice. On one occasion we asked food to be delivered to our room which was prompt. Breakfast had a variety of different options, from full English to healthy options like cheese and toast, honey, fruit bar, baguettes, croissants and pan au raisin, pan au chocolate, tea and coffee, 3 types of juices etc.

Overnight stay with friends for a reunion of alumni ex Manchester University 50 plus years on Good hotel. Value for money when booked in advance via Trivago. Good Dinner and breakfast. Comfortable rooms.

A lot has changed as regards the breakfasts, staff still pleasant, we had all gone in for breakfast, enjoyed it, coffee machine not as good as the last one, but still enjoyed our morning x

Novotel Manchester We stayed here for a very good value Sunday night in July and also ate dinner. We would readily do so again, though it wasn’t perfect. It’s next to RHS Bridgewater Gardens, which we were visiting. There is free parking if you register your car at reception. The bedroom was spacious. The Queen-sized bed and pillows was very comfortable, and the lighting was excellent, with plenty of options. There was a sofa, chair and desk with USB ports, good storage and hanging space. Cleaning was fairly good but skirting boards, socket tops and the like were dusty. The bathroom, with shower and bath, was very good and fully functional, with tissues and wall-mounted toiletries provided. There was a separate toilet which is an advantage when sharing a room. We didn’t need the air conditioning on this occasion. For dinner, I really enjoyed my pork fillet with plentiful vegetables. The chef had created a special onion-free sauce to cater for my intolerance. It’s very rare for restaurants to do this for me; they usually state that all sauces are pre-prepared or bought in, with onions involved in one form or another. My partner felt that her salmon fish cakes were disappointing, but her chicken skewer was very nice. An excellent breakfast was let down for me by the only decaffeinated coffee being instant . It’s no harder or more expensive to make fresh decaff than regular! I then asked for a slice of lemon for tea and would have liked more than a very thin half-slice. On the positive side, there was fresh fruit salad and fruit compote, natural yoghurt, cereals and granola, mini-pasties, and a hot breakfast buffet. Mini-pastries Jams and, Nutella were available, but marmalade had run out. The dispensers for those items were very challenging to operate successfully. We appreciated the efforts the steps the hotel has made to reduce waste, increase recycling and general to be ‘greener’. Better than most I have stayed at in this respect.

Always get the room we need/want, ideally located for visiting family.

Etihad stadium is home to Manchester City football club which is the best club in England and second best team in Europe for now.

Great place and excellent value

The room was good, just a bit unusual that toilet is separate to bathroom. Big, comfortable bed, you get teas, coffee and kettle in room. And if you need to iron clothes you have iron and ironing board in room. The restaurant have nice seating area with TV, they even put the football match one, which was nice. Good selection of mains starting from £10-£25. The drinks in bar have good selection, not that much on draught, but beers on tap is approx £5. Good eine an spirit selection. Outside you have good parking space.

Well located and really quiet at night. Aircon worked well. food was reasonable, breakfast was good but dishes not clean. So was the room a bit oldish and mole in the bathroom isn't nice.

Since 2019, I’ve stayed in this hotel 3-4 times. I appreciate the hospitality, the attention to details shown by the staff and the management. A big shout out to Max. He is great.

I have booked here for my daughter's wedding in February 2024. My star ratings are based upon the web site. The location is ideal for me as it is close to the old Courthouse where my daughter is getting married.

Stayed here to visit RHS Bridgewater and was pleasantly suprised. Despite the hotel being situated between a few different roads, there are plenty of trees, so it actually feels quite tranquil in the grounds and it's pretty quiet at night. The staff were all very friendly and you can tell the management are making an effort with the hotel. The common areas are nicely decorated and an effort has obviously been made to add a few personal touches (the tea area, water bottle refill station, environmental pledge display and the small fruit garden / orchard outside are all nice ideas). Plus there is a decent gym and nice outside patio. The breakfast was excellent (full hot and continental buffet) and as an Accor member you get a free welcome drink as well. Yes, the rooms could do with a a bit of a refresh (mine could definitely do with a paint and a plunger to get the sink draining a bit better!), but it was clean, had everything I needed (iron, hairdryer, aircon) and was perfectly comfortable. To be honest it was better than what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel. All felt pretty good value for the price. Can't get anything close to as good in an air bnb.

Great hotel, friendly staff, clean and comfortable, drinks reasonable price drinks, good room rate and we're accommodating when a had to change my date due to unfortunate circumstances. Would've gave 10 but wasn't keen on the cooked breakfast but there was lots of other choices. Would definitely stay again
