My search to find a Nigerian place in mcr that’s authentic and consistent continues 😭 The oha soup was really nice, really spicy, beef was soft too and it wasn’t like other places where assorted means mostly the parts I hate and then 1 tiny bit of beef. So that was all good and the pounded yam itself was well made and soft! But the suya was so weird, first of all it wasn’t spicy at all (the oha was like a LOT hotter), and I’ve never had non spicy suya before, also there were only 3 little slices of onion (some of us really like onion), the suya seasoning itself was like a pale yellow colour, and it just didn’t taste that suya-ish.. like some flavour was missing. Most importantly, the beef smelt really weird, like bad weird, I ate some but didn’t trust it so it was a big waste of money on that one. If you change the suya and make it spicier and add more onions I’d deffo try this place again!

Spent £60 but not satisfied with the quality of the food. Tasteless and meat was burnt full of fat. Rice was bland and just overly spicy. Using Platter in naming the Jollof is very deceiving the quantity was not a platter please google search what a platter is then you will understand. Better just call it Jollof rice than a Jollof rice platter. Only thing I actually enjoyed were the drinks (Fanta and Malt)

The vegetable soup in this restaurant hits with 💯 Naija flavour. The veggies were so fresh I had to ask them how come? Amazing atmosphere conducive for friends and family alike. By far one of the best African restaurants to visit in Manchester!

Came to manchester from london and ordered pounded yam and oha soup. As soon as I tasted the soup it felt like been transported back to the village. I could taste the home cooking in every bite. Atmosphere was good. The host was friendly and in my view one of the best African restaurants I have visited.

This is just a warning ⚠️ The food was nice i had one to 3 scoops then I I came across a big broken piece of plastic container. I put it on the side because I thought was a mistake and I'm too hungry. Then started eating again, another broken plastic, a very small one this time 😑. I called them they said they will look at it, the woman i spoke to was very nice and polite she apologies about everything. I left my foot still hungry because that's dangerous I don't know how much of those plastic in that portion and how much i have already swallow. This is just a Warning

The website has a completely different menu with completely different prices than the real thing. The atmosphere is like a night club rather than a restaurant with people smoking cannabis or some other grass inside while others are trying to eat. Several musics are playing at once and there is nothing for kids. The service waiter woman made a big effort to be professional and nice, all credit to her, but ultimately the atmosphere is wrong, the pricing is too high for what it is, and the food is at best just about tolerable. I dont think the place deserves to be called a restaurant. Many many areas for improvement here

Davinchi is one of my very first dine out experiences at an African restaurant and I was not disappointed. It is a cosy place with delicious food and a warm vibe. I like that there was a sink with soap qnd water inside ( you don't have to go to the bathroom just to wash your hands) for you to wash your hands before you eat- I think more restaurants should have this as it helps prevent diseases from poor hand hygiene. I ordered grilled Tilapia fish with vegetables and it reminded me so much of eating fish at home in Jamaica. The food was lovely. The only thing I would have added is some lemon/ lime. I also wish they had a jeloff rice that was vegetarian or even with chicken. The staff was kind and the music was lovely.

I ordered the fried rice with turkey and plantain, the rice was very good, the turkey felt a bit overcooked but maybe that is the way nigerians eat they turkey, i am Belgian and i am used to soft meat that easily comes off the bone so maybe it's a little culture difference in our kitchens, i enjoyed the food overall, but when i had to use the toilet i felt really dissapointed, the seat was broken for the women's toilet, i checked the men's and there was no seat at all... i tought to myself to just go without actually sitting but i couldn't even close te door since the lock was broken, i did not want to risk anyone walking in on me in a weird position, i felt really uncomfortable and went to search another place to use the toilet, so please, for women's sake...could you fix the toilets please? This is the reason i am not giving more stars, but hey, easily fixable 😉

We came to spend the weekend in Manchester, a friend recommended here for us, and we must say that we are glad. The ambiance of the restaurant is what you first notice - lighting, cleanliness, and general decor, and it’s impressive. Even though Glory isn’t a fan of dark decor and ambiance, it was impressive enough that she appreciated the effort. Service was polite and friendly. The food itself was the star of the show; tasted homely and traditional (as much as is possible for a restaurant), and portions were generous and perfect for us, altogether rounding up a very pleasant and satisfying night for us in Manchester. We hope to be back!

😁This restaurant is a flipping joke. I literally gave them charity with my money. I wouldn't take that food for free. Cause the food was utterly tasteless. I can literally see the tomatoes 🍅 popping through the jollof rice. Is either their chef need a cooking skills or the chef couldn't be bothered to cook a tasty food. Who serve jollof rice with Titus🙄. Have dined in other Good African restaurant. None of them ever used Titus . They used good fish. The owner must be greedy I'm guessing they're igbo😉. Typical of them. Also the food was unreasonably small portion yet pricey. You won't last long if you don't freaking change mark today's date of this review. Come on, people pay their hard earned money to patronise you. The least you could do is satisfy them to some extent to stay in business okay. Cook good food use, good quality beef and fish, be friendly and respectful and add to the portion of your food for that price. That's how you please customers. Go learn from some white business owner . This is why black business owners don't thrive for long. You lack basic skill 😕 of how to run a successful business.

Today's the 21.01.2023. I've visited the restaurant for the umpteenth time and truthfully, I come back again and again due to proximity and convenience and ofcourse to support #blackbusiness. But when I ask for Suya please give me tender meat texture I beg u not tough painfully unchewable meat!!! . When we initially visited; the suya we were served was top notch but consistency of quality product is important to maintain regular customers and attract more customers. Please stop serving cold meat and hard textured meat. Thanks for listening and ofcourse hopefully consider improvements of the "suya". Suya is generally thinned sliced and fine. Cheers

If I could give this restaurant a “-5” I definitely would. We ordered food worth £60 just 2 days ago and not only were the portions disgustingly small for the price but they included nothing that we ordered in the soup….there was no beef or traces of beef, the soups were full of “Saki” and “Abodi” and dried fish, at least if we would be served tiny portions for the price we paid, give us some Quality and something worth our money’s worth. I came on here and I saw the reply that the so called owner of this restaurant gave to a customer, very appalling and rude indeed. Before he decides to ban me from the restaurant as well, I’m never stepping my feet into this restaurant again anyways.

A friend recommended this particular shop after I was craving African food. The food taste is okay to me, I was going to write a review and complain about how pricy it is for a little portion, then I went through your reviews n replies and I’m appalled, A customer says the food wasn’t good. It’s not enough to write them off, you forget people have diff taste buds, I also read in 1 of your reviews that you going to ban a customer “ Nigerians and stupid entitlement”. Like were you hoping the customer comes back on her knees begging pls don’t ban me. I can’t live without your food????” Well mine is your food portions is small and how dare you charge £5 for a tail of Titus fish. And yet you complain you don’t have staffs but extort people with little or no food portion. Pls add me to your bad customer book cuz me I have banned myself wholeheartedly. Never recommending you guys not spending a penny in your shop.

Very bad customer service. Instead of you to take the reviews and corrections, you are here fighting with paying customers. If you like ban the whole world. Very rude man. If you can’t show common decent customer skills then you stay behind the kitchen, where no one has to witness your horrible attitude. The portion size is wicked ! We ordered assorted soup yesterday and it was full of shaki and abode!! Cheap meat!! NO beef what so ever, If I wanted to order abode soup I would have said so. For the price you guys are charging for small portions. You should be able to afford more staff. But you won’t because you are greedy. Better change your ways. Nonsense

Horrible customer service. I made a big order and went to pick it up at the shop, bare in mind I live 25 minutes away from the shop. I ordered 2 large fish, rice and stew, plantain and a tub of pepper . When I arrived at the shop I had to wait a very long time before being spoken to, while I was speaking to the only staff they had he was also assisting other customers at the same time when i approached him about this he would walk away mid sentence to speak to another customer. The tub of pepper that I ordered was not even 1/4 way full when I asked to put more the staff refused, which I found to be very unapologetic and greedy as I was paying for it.
