Lovely place with a great selection of delicious food. I loved the vitello tonnato! Definitely a place for a nice relaxing dinner with fast service.

We dined at Notto on March 13th with friends to celebrate a birthday. Despite the excellent service provided by our waiter, we were disheartened by the absence of several menu items, including pasta, Aperol and even basic bread—a staple in any Italian restaurant. This was particularly disappointing given that it was a busy Saturday night. It's perplexing to visit an Italian restaurant and find they are lacking essentials like bread and pasta. We left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry, which was frustrating. Following up on this experience, I reached out to the restaurant via email the subsequent Monday seeking an explanation, but my concerns were met with silence. Consequently, I cannot recommend Notto to any of you, as our experience was markedly underwhelming

After I had made my reservation I had several calls to confirm that I was vegetarian and was informed that many of the dishes contained cheese made from rennet and therefore not vegetarian. I was assured that there would be plenty of other vegetarian choices. On arrival, I was again advised that the most of the meat free dishes contained cheeses made with rennet. The dishes offered to me that were ‘vegetarian’ were Focaccia bread Griddle purple sprouting broccoli - although this dish has anchovies in a jus so not really vegetarian Salad of rocket and baby artichokes without the Parmesan cheese. Green salad. I think it would be more honest to actually say that the menus are not really suitable for vegetarians and vegans rather than say there is plenty of choice but only if you want salad. I have to say that the staff were all very friendly and tried to be helpful but a meal of cold broccoli with a plate of rocket and sprinkle of artichoke was disappointing.

Excellent meal - small menu but with a really well balanced range of pasta to suit all tastes and at a good price for the area. The pasta was very fresh, perfectly cooked and very tasty indeed. Service was friendly and the restaurant had a relaxed vibe. Will definitely go there again! I’d recommend the ravioli with scallop and prawn filling.

Food looked good but we didn’t get that far. Booked this as a special treat on a weekend away in London. Informed restaurant that our son has a dairy allergy ahead of visit. When we asked about his options we were told he could not have any of the pasta dishes as they all contained butter and that he would have to choose from the starters (which were not very suitable). We thought this was very poor for a pasta restaurant, especially given that it asked for allergies ahead of the visit. Food looked nice, but staff were very unaccommodating and didn’t appear to want to try and find a solution. We left the restaurant.

Very pleasant good value set lunch menu for just £17.50 on Piccadilly Portions not big but perfectly ok for lunch especially as 3 courses. Pleasant atmosphere, nice decor and a good vibe. Very accommodating in finding us a table when very busy even though we hadn’t booked. Will definitely be back.

We went today for lunch and had the most wonderful meal - delicious Vitello Tonnato and Burrata Broccoli as starters with the most amazing focaccia - do not miss the bread! Our main courses were superb Ravioli Osso bucco and Short Rib Pappardelle. Lovely service. Light, bright restaurant but not cosy.

Notto has had some very good press reviews which are justified. The food is very good. There were two of us dining early. The main courses are small plates - we ordered three and some foccacia which was ample. By the time we were leaving, the place was filling up and started to liven up a bit. The lighting isn't quite right and the music not great so I would mark it down for atmosphere. Good service. The lasagne is made with porcini mushrooms - delicious as was the cacio e pepe. The wine per glass is expensive.

Interesting reviews! I think it may depend what you choose. BUT BUT, if you're looking for pasta cooked as it's cooked in Italy, this is your place. My cacio e pepe and my sister's ravioli with spring vegetables were both delicious. So to the minestrone. It's not pretending to be a "full menu" establishment: it's cheap, very, for central London and the service was extremely friendly. I agree that acoustically part of the restaurant is challenging for older people but, when we asked to move to the higher level, this was no problem. Where else in Covent Garden can you have a starter, a main course and a glass of wine with service charge for £40 a head? Very strongly recommended for what it is!

Must visit! On our first trip to London, we met up with some locals for an afternoon of touring some great pubs and areas. We stopped in at some wonderful places for a pint, and then, feeling the need for food, went to Notto in Covent Garden. I am a self-described pasta connoisseur of Italian descent. Notto did not disappoint, from the wine recommendation to the antipasto, and the highlight was the brilliant pasta dishes we all shared. Everything was totally freshly made, and each was more delicious than the next. I wish we had a place like this back in the States! Kudos to the chef and the very helpful staff! We found the prices reasonable, too--a bonus!

Very friendly staff who were warm and welcoming, we decided to go for a set Lunch - 3 courses for £17.50 (great value) and added a side of Focaccia and a bottle of Custoza white wine… the focaccia was thick and fluffy with a wonderfully crisp crust and the wine crisp with just the right amount of acidity - however, the wine was warm at the table, it had to sit in the holder with ice to get cold. To start the 3 courses we went for the Winter Vegetable Minestrone with pesto and Sardines on Toast with white onions, golden raisins, pine nuts and olive oil - both of which were very flavoursome, well presented and cooked with the presto being a great accompaniment to the minestrone. No spoon was provided with the soup so my husband had to request this… and we were given 2 for some reason. In addition the table was not wiped between the starter and main despite lots of crumbs from the focaccia and water that had dripped from the base of the wine bottle as there was no cloth provided with the bottle of wine. For the mains I had Rigatoni cacio e pepe which was delicious with a deep flavour, decent amount of sauce and spot on al dente. My husband had the Ravioli of winter greens with a chilli & garlic crumb - this on the other hand was not very good, the ravioli was only warm in temperature and rather dry with the large amount of crumb, and far too much chilli within the crumb which overpowered the dish and was too hot for him… I finished it on his behalf, I’m a big fan of hot / spicy food but it was too much for me and was unnecessary for a pasta dish. The pasta itself was well made on both dishes though. The Green salad with shallots and herbs that came with each dish was delicious and was the highlight of the main. For dessert we both had the Salted Caramel Ice Cream which was creamy and silky, a lovely way to finish the meal. The lunch was still incredibly good value, despite the issues, and we would return as it’s always worth giving places a second chance.

Having now read some of the most recent reviews ( ignore the glowing 5 star reviews from contributors who have only ever made 1 review) my experience is pretty much in common with others. Sardines on toast for £9 should read 'Sardine on toast' the one sardine was pleasant enough but I would have welcomed others from the shoal to have joined it. My pappardalle pasta dish was about a decent starter size but at £17 a bit lacking in the promised braised short rib ragu. Surroundings are acoustically challenging, hard surfaces and an open kitchen with lots of clattering pans. Didn't have dessert, looked at the menu but the guy whose job it is to provide 'restaurant standard desserts' to supermarkets ( via their own website) hadn't delivered any ice cream. Overall I reckon the Notto vision was to build up a chain of Pasta Bars in prime locations with the main ingredients produced in an off site kitchen and/or bought from suppliers. These are then assembled on site with the minimum amount of preparation leading to fast service and fast turnover of tables. The acoustics are deliberately planned that way as who wants to linger in a noisy canteen after eating?

Modern interieur. Uitermate lekker, smaken zeer goed uitgebalanceerd.

Five of us called in while in London nearby for a business lunch. Very different as you have to do down into an underground area. The decor is modern but with an industrial/classic feel. I am not a fan of pizza but we all ordered pizza as recommended by one of our group and I am glad we did as it was very good - as far as pizza goes. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for somewhere interesting and quirky. The only down side was it was a bit pricey but I suppose we were in London!

Walking I noticed this small pizzeria characterized by a wood oven. The furniture is typical of an Italian trattoria. The staff is friendly, rapid and attentive to the customer just as you expect in Italy. The pizza is exceptional. The dough is well leavened and, therefore, light. The condiments are of excellent quality. Cooking is perfect. Excellent beer and ice cream also fully satisfies the palate. The account is adequate.
