Norton Heath Cafe in Epping Forest

A proper ‘greasy spoon’ cafe. Arrived to find it full of tradesmen having their breakfast (a good sign). This was for a catchup with an old friend. I went for a bacon roll whilst my friend had the No. 1 breakfast. Both were superb. Staff were friendly. We sat chatting for probably 35 minutes after finishing our food and drinks and no issues. Probably half the price of the Bakehouse down the road. Thoroughly recommend.

First visit on a Sunday morning before a car show. It's all good. Food, service, cleanliness, value and portion size. Just off the main A414 so you may miss it if you don't take the turn off to Norton Heath. It's also a popular place from my experience. I will come again without doubt.

From a coffee to a full dinner is available. Food is very good and value for money. Cosy atmosphere inside, plus outside seating. Very popular, service is good and quick.

Popped in today for a quick lunch. Came on motorcycle with my wife , lots of parking space. Very friendly staff , great service and great food and not expensive.

Can't recommend this establishment enough. Food is delicious and hot when it arrived. 4th time I have ordered and it was fabulous again. Thanks guys.

It is always a pleasure to eat at Norton Cafe or even have just a cup of tea. The welcome is always very friendly and the food is freshly cooked and served with a smile.

I used the cafe as a Coffee Break during my cycle ride as part of a group of runners. Coffee was great. :)

Always clean & tidy & nicely air-conditioned. Staff are HaPpY & helpful; especially when amending items from the fixed-meal breakfast menu (have been to many cafes where they won’t or do ~ but moan about it!) Easy parking. Great value. Thoroughly recommended; 10/10 👍

Everything at Norton is lovely. The parking was easy, the tables were clean and tidy and the fare like the service was top notch. My lamb shank was well cooked and extremely tasty. Loads of lovely minty gravy and a plateful of vegetables.

I always look forward to visiting Norton Heath Cafe. The welcoming smile from the staff always gives me a lift and the value of the fare is excellent. The portions are generous, to say the least, and the speed of service is top notch, even when busy.

Although I use this gem of a cafe on a regular basis I rarely write a review as it hardly varies from one write up to the next.The staff are still friendly, the atmosphere warm and food for a greasy spoon, great and offering terrific value for money.

Took my mum for her first all day breakfast here and she was not disappointed. Huge portions and tasty. Staff were really friendly too!

Took a trip to the Norton Heath cafe today.

A great start to a Sunday morning. Really nice breakfast that is freshly cooked. The staff are welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. Keep up the good work.

I have been using this cafe for the past 15 years or more and the food and service are consistently excellent, with good quality ingredients used. Probably the best cafe I know.

Lunch consisted of a proper fry up, although I had poached eggs that were cooked perfectly. The hash browns were crispy and everything else, especially the value was very pleasing including the service that comes with a ready smile.

Basic home cooking at reasonable cost very basic but very reasonable prices. No pretence.plastic tables etc.,.Would go again as food is o.k. not licenced

I am a regular at norton heath cafe, I eat here literally every weekend as my Sunday treat with friends. It is motorbike, cycle bike, dog and horse friendly, which in this day and age is rare! The food is amazing, very well priced - almost too cheap for the quality they produce - and the ladies that work there are genuinely lovely people! Personally I visit for a fry up brunch, but their meals are just as delicious. I tired a roast and jam sponge a couple of weeks ago and that was delicious, just like good old fashioned home cooked food. If you haven’t been here you need to! By far the best cafe in Essex!

We arrived to find new picnic style benches outside, with large umbrellas, and inside the cafe has received a makeover and is all clean and shiny. This hasn't detracted from the service or fare being offered. The breakfast, like the lamb shank, was top notch.

Great little cafe to stop at just off the A414, been going for years be it a stop of at the beginning of a motorbike ride or a recovery breakfast from the night before, always good service.

Stopping at Norton is always a delight, regardless whether the stop is for a full English or a tea and a snack.

Excellent food. Great for a fry up. Sort of place that’s good to stop if you have been on a long cycle ride.

We have been riding out to the cafe for many years and always receive a friendly welcome from the staff and great value breakfast!

We could only stop for a short while so it was just a coffee plus a syrup sponge pudding and custard.

Always have a great full English breakfast nice cup of tea and slice of fresh bread and butter . All ways served with a smile from the ladies . Plenty of parking out the front . Good prices for good food . Thank you 😊

I visited the Norton Heath Cafe with my brother after a business transaction had been completed. First impressions were of cleanliness and friendly staff.

As always this is a cracking place to stop for a bite to eat, or just a drink. The service is most friendly, lead from the front by George, and the food is well priced, hot and plenty of it.

Went to this cafe yesterday for breakfast, the service is excellent and fast. Your food turns up perfectly cooked and plenty of it, plus is very hot not warm like other places. The staff are helpful and keep the place clean and tidy.

My business partner & I, have used this Friendly Cafe for the last four years on a regular basis, and George & her staff look after all their customer's with the same friendly manner, whatever the time of day? Three of us went for a late Sunday breakfast after walking the dogs. Staff really friendly & the service was quick. Our breakfasts were delicious , well cooked & piping hot. Would recommend!

Norton Heath Cafe opens at 7am, so we called in for an early breakfast whilst on a journey. Large choice of All Day Breakfasts, plus other food, from a menu board behind the counter. Popular with regular local and passing tradesmen - always a sign of a good cafe. It has a large parking area and also has two picnic benches outside the cabin entrance. The food was well prepared and delicious.

Excellent full English breakfast, tea you can stand a spoon up in and friendly, prompt service. Opens early as well!

As a cyclist we use upto 6 different cafes a week. Norton Heath Cafe is a place often visited. The reason is simple its really good value for money. The Food is excellant especially the poached eggs and omlet. The speed of service is always efficient.
