Rode 150 mile round trip to drop into have a light lunch on 31/5/22. The cheese and onion quiche with salad was very good, the loose leaf pot of earl grey provided 3 good cups and followed by the best carrot cake I’ve had for some time. Another trip will have to be scheduled to try some of the other goodies.

A lovely little cafe serving delicious sandwiches, scones etc. Advise booking a table as it is quite small and in high demand - thoroughly recommend.

Amanda and her helpers have done an amazing job. Offering delicious, well cooked food to take away. Cafe has a great menu and her pastry and cakes are fabulous. Her chocolate torte was amazing. Will be putting my order in for home made Christmas cooking.

We are on a walking holiday in Somerset and chanced upon The Reading Room in Norton sub Hamdon which is a beautiful little village. The hostess was delightful and the choice and quality of the cakes, savouries on par with any good farm shop and she can make sandwichez or meals up on the spot. During this covid time it is take away only but if you are wanting to eat straight away there is a bench in the grounds of the adjacent church (grade 1 listed) in a sunny spot just ideal. We went back the next day for more the fare is so good. Highly reccomended!

We visited this delightful cafe twice during our recent stay at Little Norton Mill. Due to the pandemic, the cafe is currently only offering a take away service. We had two delicious lunches which were very imaginative and tasty. They were well packaged and we took them away and ate them in the garden of our accommodation. Please keep going ladies as we hope to return to the area next year.

I visited with my wife for lunch having heard good things about this lovely little place and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I had the Haddock special and my wife one of the salads both were superb and excellent value for money. Our waitress was efficient and attentive and the meals served quickly. Desert was a ginger cake and a coffee, just fantastic. Easily the smallest restaurant in Somerset but would give the bigger ones a run for their money. My new favourite eatery.

This is a great little find in the village for both locals and visitors. The venue is small & a bit cramped but the selection & choice of food is excellent. There was a power cut when we visited so we had to wait a little while but we were well looked after while we waited and we watched the food being offered to other visitors and knew we would be returning. The breakfasts looked wonderful!

I've visited this place twice recently en route to Cornwall and needing a break off the A303. What an enchanting village firstly, the people in the village shop an absolute delight and so friendly. I digress, this cafe serves awesome food and can easily serve gluten and dairy free with no hardship. Lovely Genius baps served! It was packed when we arrived but we got a seat outside in the sunshine. Highly recommend as a stop off rather than a petrol station!

Smashing! Lovely cosy cafe in gorgeous Norton sub Hamdon, my first visit but def not my last - will come for lunch next time! The new owner, Amanda, came over and introduced herself, despite being busy. Decor is charming and there are really nice locally made bits n pieces for sale as well, which also need a better perusal. I look forward to returning (maybe after a walk up Ham Hill nearby to give me the excuse to indulge!).

Called here desperate for a cuppa Sat down and were not even acknowledged. We then nipped for a much needed nip to the loo the towel on offer was dirty and smelly so we simply left without once been asked if we would like anything. So disappointing really .

Stopped here whilst on a 30 mile bike ride. Made to feel very welcome and were very impressed by the range of cakes, snacks and meals on offer. We opted for poached egg and avocado on toast (x2) .... it was very tasty and excellent value compared with other places we stop on our regular bike rides. Well worth a visit, we will return to sample some of the cakes and other menu items.

This is a charming cafe. Inside is wonderfully cool in the hot weather and there are also a couple of tables outside; which is where we particularly like to sit to enjoy our lunch. The home-made food is always excellent, Jo and Meryl are so friendly and welcoming and the prices are extremely reasonable.
