Northcote Arms in Waltham Forest

I met a group of friends for a bite to eat and a few beers during a busy lunchtime. The staff seemed overloaded but the wait time at the bar and for food was ok. The ales on offer were outstanding and our pizzas were very good although some napkins would have been useful. On balance, we would recommend this place.

Went on a Bottlemless Brunch today and it was great. Very friendly, welcoming and busy pub. Beer selection was good, food choice limited but very nice. Would definetly recommend

Visited here a couple of days ago. The service was fantastic - Rosie was great and dealt with my problem very well. We came for Wednesdays unlimited wings deal. After eating a few plates, I noticed the chicken hadn’t been cooked correctly and was completely raw in the middle. As a result of this I had to take yesterday off work and spent the majority of it in bed and unwell. Although these wings looked great, hopefully next time the kitchen staff can make sure the food is fully cooked before it leaving the kitchen.

I visited the Northcote last Saturday (12th Feb 2022) with some friends, we were in London to support out football team play Leyton Orient. Even though we were away fans we were made to feel so welcome by the regulars, the atmosphere was so warm and friendly towards us. After travelling down from Manchester and cutting it late to get to the game the kitchen staff managed to get us some food in double quick time, we had the cheeseburgers and they were amazing. The selection of beer (the thing that first drew us to the Northcote) was really good, plenty of really good beers, many of which were from local breweries. All in all, a fantastic pub, serving great food, with great locals and lovely staff. See you again next season!

Had such an amazing time at this pub! Music bingo was awesome and so much fun. If you want to have a great time, listen to amazing music (throw backs to the 80s and 90s), yummy food, friendly bartenders and a good, relatively safe COVID time, this is your spot!

Fantastic building nicely furnished and very spacious. The staff are very welcoming and really care for their customers. Good range of beer there and we’ll kept. Nice beer garden as well.

It was good to be back in a pub after a long lockdown and chose this pub as my first. I arrived at the Northcote to see that a lot of work had been done to provide a lovely outside space for socialising, with the landlady keeping strictly to the rules and helping people feel safe. The staff as always were friendly and helpful, the drinks plentiful and the pizzas were just what was needed. It’s a very friendly welcoming vibe, just what was needed, highly recommend popping in.

Arrived at the pub, the two bar men just looked at me and carried on talking. Very unhelpful as if they didn't want you there. Bar was empty, can see why. Those bar man badly need customer service trading, better yet they should visit The Coach & Horses to see what a warm welcome looks like. Avoid!!!!

We popped in, of the cuff on Bank Holiday Monday evening to see if our party of 4 could get something to eat. My wife is vegetarian and we were told that there were plenty of options on the menu. We were quickly shown to a table and the ordering systemunder COVID was explained to us. Drinks were served quickly and our menu choices made. My wife went for the recommended "Garden Pizza" and deleted the goats cheese (not a fan!) Unfortunately they had run out of sauce for my daughters choice of Bolognese, and not being a pizza fan, opted for a portion of chips. The waitress, then offered her a custom dish of tomato and mushroom sauce (not on the menu) and even offered to chnage the pasta to Penne!. When the food turned up (and in ample portions) we were very impressed with the quality provided. The Garden Pizza was a delight; fresh and very tasty. When we were fully stuffed, the leftovers were boxed and ready for us to take away. Even though the food was heavily discounted for the "Eat out " campaign, I would happily have paid the full price for the food served. We will return!

My colleague and I arrived at the Northcote this evening full of excitement and enthusiasm at being able to have a drink together after so long apart. We were directed to our seats and told how to use the drink/food booking system by a wonderfully helpful and polite member of the bar staff. When we asked to use the smoking area, we were directed by the bar staff to the covered area outside. A second household joined, at a distance of at least a metre. At this juncture an angry woman came out and loudly remonstrated with us for not being a metre away from the other party. When we tried to explain that we were sitting as directed by her staff, she became very agitated and repeatedly said she was not arguing with us, but would we please finish our cigarettes. We did so as she continued to shout at us that she was not arguing, but we were not a metre away from the other household. We tried to explain that as far as we knew, we were indeed at least a metre apart, and that we were just complying by finishing our cigs as she has requested, but she became quite threatening at this point and started saying that we could be given a table out in the rain if we continued to query the matter. We went back inside and she loudly complained about us to her staff. The other party in the smoking area were just as embarrassed and confused as we were, given that we were all at least a metre apart and were perfectly happy to comply with her wishes... we were just genuinely confused by what she said and by the aggression of her tone. I asked the bar staff if I could complain to the manager, but they said that the woman concerned was in fact she. We had spent over £40 in her establishment and the evening was completely soured by her disproportionate and rude behaviour. I have been a punter at the Northcote for the four years I’ve lived in the area and will now never go back.

Had a lovely few drinks after work, friendly staff and a good atmosphere showed the football which was perfect for my hubby. Portia was an excellent host. Love Dylan and love xx

This has been our local for a couple of years now but they have recently started doing a Sunday roast and it was our first time trying it last weekend. Best roast I've ever had out, chicken was cooked perfectly and all the trimmings were amazing. Really couldn't recommend more! Great pub.

Having helped someone to move in nearby we popped into this pub for a late lunch. Lots of pizza and pasta to choose from. Really enjoyed the goats cheese salad which could be the nicest I have tasted. Service was speedy and very friendly and there seemed to be a relaxed family vibe to the place. No doubt that we will return when we next visit.

Nice pub with sofas, comfy and great atmosphere. Great beer garden in the Summer! The pizza is very good too, highly recommend!

This is quite simply the best pub in the area. Not too gentrified, not too sketchy, friendly and comfortable. It doesn't hurt that it has pizzas to die for (bear in mind you need cash to pay for them, but the bar does cashback). Thoroughly...

....and good beer. Staff loses sometimes the overview because the outside seating appears a little chaotic. Lots of youngsters. Good for a start of a pub crawl.
