Absolutely disgusting behaviour of the staff. Tool my family for breakfast only to be told they are full. It was near empty. She then said have you booked? I said it doesn't say you have to book? We left very annoyed as the restaurant was quite. My wife then decided to go on the booking website to see if they are actually full? Surprise surprise there were lots of bookings free. So my wife booked a table for 5 minutes later and we went back in to see if they would say they are full again? No problems said we had booked and sat down. The girl was not happy she had been caught out lying. She didn't come to take are ordering so we helped are selves to the buffet👍she had no choice but to take our order🤣 Food was great, staff are lazy looking to turn customers away for an easy life.

The food was poor, my sirloin was cold and tough. They charged us for drinks we didn’t have, my stepson had a hair in his burger! So you can imagine not a good evening at this restaurant. It’s highly unlikely that we will return.

The waiting staff made it unpleasant Rude, miserable, unhelpful, made you feel you were not welcome

We had good food, our waitress was helpful and it wasn't long before our meal arrived on the table.

Hit and miss. Unfortunately this restaurant has been more miss recently. We go here quite frequently for breakfast and evening meals and for the majority of the time the food is good, however there has been times where the vegetables have still been frozen and the chips have been hard and the chicken dry. The breakfast is well valued and the choice of continental options is excellent. You can find yourselves waiting a while for the pastry’s and bread to be restocked. I have to comment on the bacon aswell , even when asked if the bacon can be well done is comes out just cooked. The manager and the lady with the red hair are very attentive and efficient , however there is a young lad we encounter on the breakfast sitting that can come across quite rude and you almost feel in his way most of the time. Today we watched as other dinners that arrived after us got their order taken before us, it was an hour after we arrived before we got any hot food served to us. I don’t really want to write negatives like this however the poor experiences here are becoming more frequent.

We just ate here after deciding to try somewhere new, and we are very disappointed with our experience. First of all, the customer service was AWFUL. Staff were utterly disinterested- we had to get up and ask for our drinks to be refilled, they kept walking around on their phones, didn’t take plates despite walking past us and them being there for a while, among other issues. My partner got the ‘ultimate’ roast- how misleading! Barely any beef, despite being a beefeater, small boney half chicken and small amount of lamb. He had asked for the unlimited favourites but this wasn’t brought out, and yet again we had to ask for this. I got the halloumi burger and it was so loaded with roast veg that you could barely taste the halloumi. It could have done with a side salad for the £14 price tag. Definitely would not recommend coming here- the prices are poor for the quality and amount of food, staff have no care for customers, and advertising is misleading

Very disappointed today,3 of us came for breakfast at 9.30am.nosauce on table again,second Saturday on the run,staff left coffee machine empty,beans thrown on the top of the machine left loose,no raspberry teabags,staff were asked for milk and had faces on them.bacon was boiled and didn't taste cooked,beans reheated up,eggs not cooked properly.atmosphere not good,felt if we wanted anything the staff would grunt at us.not welcoming.if James was in he wouldn't allow this poor performance and setup.

Builders in making a noise staff in doing paperwork in the booth across from us we had our starters then had to move to another table which in a empty restaurant we should have put there when we checked in nobody apologised we couldn’t wait to get out of there spoilt our meal my partner is only 5 weeks from giving birth it not often we get out the whole experience was ruined complained to customer service who tell they will investigate but we won’t know the outcome they just ripped us off so don’t go there there are people in and out of the bar helping there selves without uniform and none of the staff cared

We had a function booked for around 40 guests, we'd provisionally agreed the use of some DJ equipment (as we had done on previous years) & chose our buffet options. A couple of weeks before the event, we received a call to say that they could no longer loan the DJ equipment. This was inconvenient to say the least, but back to the drawing board, & luckily, we managed to source the equipment needed, but involved a trip round the North-West! Then, two days before the event, we receive another call; the venue had lost our order & asked if we could remember the items ordered and quantities of each. Luckily, we had made a written note when placing the order, but all the same, inconvenient & an issue which we should not have to be asked to resolve. On the day of the event, we were met with crimpled & stained table cloths, & each table of eight had two miserable Christmas crackers for a centerpiece. Food appeared, but we were not informed that it had arrived. Usually, the organiser/DJ would be informed so they can announce to the guests. Later, the food was removed - again, no advisory or notification they were doing so; people were not given any last opportunities to get some food. We possibly wouldn't be leaving this review for the above issues, but the service & abysmal attitude from a particular staff member has forced it! We ordered 4 Christmas cocktails, the bar staff, rolled her eyes, & replied, 'it's going to take a while! She was then asked if ordering the same cocktail would be easier for her, 'no - it's alright' was her response, like she was doing the customer a favour! Another guest asked for a glass of water, the staff member didn't respond, just picked up a glass, went to the glass-wash & filled the glass. There was no offer of ice, & clearly the tap had not been run for long enough because the water was white/cloudy & tepid in temperature. Another ordered a glass of wine, the bar staff huffed & said that she would have to go & find it. When she returned with the bottle of wine, she then realised it was a cork top, it became apparent that was also an issue for her. She hacked away at the foil around the neck of the bottle, & clearly struggled to operate the bottle opener. Eventually, she someone to help. She handed the glass of wine to the customer & exclaimed, 'hope that's the best glass of wine you've ever had! Another guest ordered shots, this was fine until there were no washed shot glasses for the second round, & they were told to bring the glasses back to be washed! Another was questioned by the same bar staff, 'why are you here, why don't you go to town - it's not a party venue, it's a Beefeater! Another guest, waiting to be served, witnessed a receipt & cash of £45 being left for the staff member to pay off a tab. The staff member began destroying/disposing of receipts, when she came across the £45. She questioned the guest if they knew what it was, having seen, they explained that they believed a another staff member had put it there with one of the receipts she had ripped up. She argued, 'you let me rip up the receipt for it - why didn't you say? They reminded her, they didn't work for the Beefeater. Another guest was waiting to be served, now there wasn't really any obvious order of service, & people weren't sure who was next. Nonetheless, the staff member barked, 'do you want serving or not? Several other guests made comments about the same staff member, quoting 'she has an attitude problem & her hospitality skills leave a lot to be desired! At around 10:45 the lights came on with no prior warning - as far as we were aware, last orders were at 11pm! All very abrupt, clearly we were not welcome & the staff wanted us gone. It is highly unlikely we will return as a party, or individual families; & all adults having experienced unpleasantness from the bar staff.

We were a group of 4 and we all had the festive menu of 2 courses. Various starters but we all had the turkey dinner, could not have eaten sweet. Also had a voucher for 33% off food making it great value.

Good fish and chips. Premier Inn so close. You can enter the Beefeater from inside the Premier Inn. Will return.

We have been visiting this restaurant for at least 20 years. Unfortunately we had to book the function room for a wake, however James couldn’t have done more for us, he was amazing from start to finish. Everyone said the food was lovely. Bar staff very friendly and couldn’t have done more for us given the situation. James made sure we had everything we needed kept checking in on us , always friendly and did everything with a smile. He made the afternoon so much more relaxed and easy. We had only planned for 30 however at least double that turned up! James wasn’t phased at all and just got us the extra food with a smile, couldn’t recommend this bloke More, especially for something as distressing as a wake. Everyone has complimented him since we had the function. Thanks again for making one of the hardest days that little bit easier.

Disappointed on this visit. Only 2 staff working, manager and one bar staff meaning no table service and had to go to the bar to order food. Beefeater and only had a single type of steak available as sold out of the others. Not the best experience and the food when it did arrive wasn't very hot at all, more lukewarm 😔

We stayed at the premier inn next door and decided to eat here for our main meal.Even though the reataurant was busy and there didnt seem many staff, they ensured we were looked after.The waitress was friendly and asked us regarding alergies etc.We had a 40% off meal voucher which was even better.The food was of a good size and tasted good

After standing waiting to be served for 10 mins, the young man serving the bar came over, apologised and went to get one of the floor servers. Another 5 mins went by, and he actually served us at the bar himself. At least 3 waitresses looked over, but not one of them came to see us. I will never use this pub/restaurant again.

Excellent breakfast and excellent service from James.

As always lovely helpful staff and comfortable rooms. However we were surprised to find there was no WiFi reception in our rooms ( 40 and 42). The staff said this was the case in rooms at the end of the. corridor. Very apologetic but how can a hotel survive when it cannot provide what is now considered a basic service ?

My partner and I stayed at the Premier Inn last night Sunday 17th September 2023 - we had a meal in this beefeater restaurant 😋 absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection. My partner gluten free, they went out of their way to help. We had a fantastic breakfast there too this morning before heading home! The chef not only a good cook, but not a bad singer too! Myself and my partner went here this morning on 3/9/23 for the second time and we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who showed us to our table and sat us down. We ordered the full cooked all you can eat breakfast and found it was exceptional and cooked to our satisfaction. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, staff were pleasant and approachable. We will most definitely be returning and recommending the place to our friends and family Thank you so much for your time and hard work 😊👌

Stopped eating here a while ago, so thought it would be time to give it another go, but OMG, bad bad bad. Sunday lunch that was just Bland, For £20 with unlimited roasties that we only got 3 of on the plate and no staff to offer any more. The other 20 pound meal was luke warm and must have been under the warmer for hours due to the chicken stacker having a shell on it that was as hard as a tortoises and the fries that I couldn't stick a fork in did not have any potato in a single one. We also watched another couple get their food and walk out without eating the meal they had just been served.

Not as good as usual always cooked just as you want this time asked for mixed grill well done steak was rare they took it back still no better just burnt on outside overall seems like cheaper ingredients are being used won’t be going back

Food and drinks were good and cheaper than most places. Service was slow , particularly as it wasn’t busy. Customer service from one very loud staff member left much to be desired. Continually walked around the restaurant bawling into a mobile phone. Also gave the impression that customers were just a nuisance and ignoring them was acceptable. Most unprofessional.

The three Sunday roasts we ordered on 6/8/23 were absolutely abismol. We were asked how we wanted our meet cooked, this was ignored, both the lamb and beef arrived like an old leather boot. The vegetables were cold and like mush. The potatoes were old, dark, and overcooked (we requested fresh potatoes made to order), the yorkshires were so hard we joked about them being hammers. The the cost of these meals were £17 per person. I had never been to a beefeater before and certainly won't be going back. I paid £97 in total. Just an absolute let down for what was supposed to be an enjoyable family outing.

Got a voucher online giving 40% off main courses so decided to give this place a try. Huge car park outside with plenty of disabled spaces right outside the entrance. After all it is linked to a Premier Inn. Level all the way into the restaurant so should be wheelchair friendly. We were told there could be a wait to be served as a function was taking place. We opted to stay and wait and we were shown to a table. First impressions were good. The place looked clean and tidy. Did notice when another table had finished the plates were quickly cleared and the table thoroughly cleaned. My brother did use the bathroom and he said they were very clean as well. The restaurant was also nice and warm which was welcomed as the temperature outside barely got above freezing that day. There was quite a wide ranging choice on the menu. I opted for the T bone steak, medium rare. My brother went for the Chicken with half a rack of ribs. Have to say I was impressed. My steak was lovely. Good portion of chips. With 40% off this and my brothers meal I think this represented very good value for money. Getting a T bone for approximately £15 can't be bad. Reasonable wine list as well with prices that wouldn't break the bank. The bottle of Malbec I got was £15.99 and a pint of Moretti £5.05. Very competitive with other establishments. No issues with the service. Staff came over several times to check if everything was ok. Did consider getting a dessert. We asked for a bit of time to decide which they gave us. Decided to give desserts a miss and think it was a wise choice as we were both pretty full after our mains. First time I have been to a Beefeater. It they keep sending out offers like this it will not be the last and I will certainly consider dining there again. Visited again 3rd August 2023. Had a voucher giving 50% off. A little reluctant to go back after a shocking meal at the Beefeater on Salford Quays. However, it’s chalk and cheese comparing this Beefeater with the one in Salford. Food and service just cannot be compared. They get it right here. Got a fillet and a ribeye steak. £44 for 2 steaks, side order of onion rings, bottle of red, soft drink and a coffee. Ok it’s not the greatest steak you will ever have but with the discounts they offer it great value for money. Have a few more money off vouchers to use up and will definitely be returning to use them.

7:30pm on the last Friday in July, after a few hours on the motorway. Part of a meal deal rate with the adjoining Premier Inn. Didn't expect much - just a stop-off night en route to deepest Shropshire after leaving Glasgow in the afternoon - but were very pleasantly surprised by how much Beefeaters have changed since we were last in one. Staff were friendly, obliging and clearly working really hard in what, for us, was an enjoyable busy atmosphere. Yes, maybe it's a bit of a "captive audience" because it's essentially part of a hotel in a relatively isolated spot just off the M6 but nothing about the service, the food, decor or atmosphere indicated anything was being taken for granted. Really nice night.

Food was piping hot, no way it could have been that hot from the pass. It was likely heated in a microwave. Mushrooms were obviously heated with boiling water but not cooked enough. Overall, very disappointing.

When we have a Models for Heroes meeting, James & his staff look after us extremely well.

Was stuck in the area with my 6 month old waiting for my car, so popped into to see what was available to eat. Had a really good cooked breakfast which also allowed you to have what you wanted from the continental breakfasts, so got my wee lad a banana and myself a cup of tea to go with my breakfast. Everyone super friendly and they let me stay on a comfy sofa afterwards waiting for my car and offered me a brew when I was feeding sproglet

Nice afternoon, the food was lovely and the service was good. The restaurant was empty so no real atmosphere but definitely worth a visit.

Food cooked fresh which was nice. But I think a buffet breakfast help yourself is better. The waitress a bit pushy. We I just sat down with some cereal and she wanted the order already. Didn't give you chance. Apart from that all good.

Service was slow (30 mins between courses), barely saw a staff member and no one came to check how my meal was or if I wanted another drink. I waited for 30mins for someone to bring the bill and in the end went and complained at the bar to be greeted with a undertrained staff member who struggled to get a vax receipt produced. Meal took almost 2 hours from the point I was seated to finally paid my bill, crazy for a small 3 course meal.

My son loved the steak . Always go for medium rare! I can't understand why I can't share my lemonade refill with my son though

1st up, you should be ultimately proud of yourselves. 110%! Came here on 15.05.23. The young barstaff/waiter/waitress were nothing short than excellent. I honestly couldn't wish for a better dining experience. Had the mushrooms as starter and a rump steak cooked as blue as the chef dared. All came out piping hot, well rested steak that melted in the mouth. Triple cooked chips were crispy and fluffy on the inside. Some places over look peas but this place, they were green and cooked perfectly. If as a company you send vouchers to staff that excel the companies expectations, then don't mess about and send it to these 3. I often work away from home and will pursuade my boss to send me to this place if I'm ever close again. Well done and thank you.

Lovely relaxing night with my daughter. Food was delicious, our steaks cooked to perfection. I must thank our waitress Chloe, she was so friendly and helpful, dashing around looking after her customers, an asset to the restaurant. The man on front of house who greeted us though wasn't, sullen and never smiled! I would recommend to anyone.

We had tables booked for a family gathering for 12 people 2 weeks in advance of the booked date. When we arrived at about 2 o'clock it was pretty quiet, the tables hadn't been arranged for us so we did it ourselves. On ordering our meals, and it was a Sunday, we were given menus that included the festive meals, and a number of us placed an order for them. In effect, they were Sunday roasts with festive vegetables, etc. After a few minutes, we were told that they didn't have enough potatoes or meats to be able to provide for the meals amongst other menu items that were not available. One of our party asked why they were short on the main essentials for their menu and was just told "we don't know." With not many options to then choose from, the meals that were served such as the Lasagne were way below par, but we were waiting that long that we juat got on with it. Extra portions of sides were ordered to supplement the main meals, many of which never came. When nipping to the toilet, one of the staff was walking out of the kitchen so i could see into the kitchen, and it looked deserted. One of our party complained to the duty manager who told us "they'd be glad when were gone and we wasn't welcome back". It was absolutely unbelievably shocking. When everyone had finished their mains, the staff didn't even bother to clear our tables or offer anyone a desert menu. I think there's no problem with not being welcome back as it would take hell to freeze over before setting a foot back through the door of this establishment. Bear in mind that this restaurant is bolted to a hotel, so if they would have had many guests booked in they would not have been able to order much food and because of the remote location there wouldn't be much options for anything else. Disgusted by the manager and the treatment by the waiting staff here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Staying at hotel next door and first night lovely fillet steak and excellent service. Today refused table in ( empty) restaurant and put in bar ( same price). No explanation just “no” although others went in after me. Only table available was large one for six in centre of room which people which people then clearly resented with some leaving as nowhere to sit. As a single female diner it would have been nice to have been given small table in restaurant. I didn’t stay for desert as felt awkward.. restaurant still empty bar a few tables when I left… but young man behind bar was lovely and friendly

Largely ignored by evening restaurant staff. Very annoying. We were about to leave a note and leave when a waitress saw us and said she was sorry about the wait, despite the place being very quiet.

I have dined here 3 times, easy booking service, adequate parking and spacious place. The meals are well made, tasty, and filling, staff service is really good. My family and I have enjoyed every meal and will be making regular visits.

Don’t waste your hard earned money here. Bad / lack of customer service. Food took 1hr 40 to get to our table. Food was mediocre at best. 5 of us (out of 9) ordered a steak / mixed grill - 1 of us asked for a steak knife to be advised “we don’t have anymore steak knives” by the Team Leader / Manager (I presume) - they then walked off to not return. Sorry but that’s not good enough, would it have really been a big deal to wash a steak knife instead of making them struggle trying to cut steak with a butter knife? No. On top of this, we had all finished our meals - no one came over to our table to clear plates even after 40 minutes of sat waiting. The restaurant was not busy in the slightest so that cannot be blamed. We were wanting to order some more soft drinks and desserts but gave up when no one came to the table after 40 minutes. (Congrats on losing revenue). The manager / TL was more interested in setting up breakfast cutlery than seeing to guest sat there waiting to be seen. 9 guests all refusing to go to a BeefEater again.
