Myself and Fiancé came here to enjoy Ramen, what can I say, other than totally shocking food. Basically ready cooked chicken thrown into a bowl with instant noodles. I can get better instant noodles from the store. What an embarrassment, how can one serve such rubbish and have the face to charge you for it. I’m a cook on a ship and I would never serve such food with zero care or effort that has gone into making it. We really shouldn’t have paid for our food, we should have left it on the table and left. Stay away folks

Amazing food!! We ordered the pad see ew, a massaman curry and some spring rolls. Oh my god, the portion size as well as the quality were way more than we expected! We highly recommend eating here. Also, the price is very reasonable for this quality and quantity.

I implore anyone reading this not to eat here. The food was terrible, unless you enjoy copious amounts of fish sauce, and cold food. We ordered a takeaway, were charged a fortune, greeted by an extremely rude delivery driver and given a dreadful meal. The portions were tiny, and cold. The £13 beef dish had 6 bite sized pieces of meat, 2 bits of pepper and some onions. Oh and masses of fish sauce! Just an overall unpleasant experience. Avoid please.

I recently had the pleasure of dining on Princess Street in Edinburgh, and it was a culinary delight! The location itself is vibrant and bustling, with a mix of historic charm and modern energy that makes it a perfect spot for a meal. The meal began with King Prawn Tempura, which was a fantastic start. The prawns were succulent, the batter light and crispy, and the accompanying dipping sauce added a perfect tangy balance. Next up were the Calamari Rings, which were equally impressive. Tender and perfectly fried, they were a delightful treat. The Chicken Ramen was a hearty and comforting dish. The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken was tender and the noodles cooked to perfection, creating a satisfying bowl of goodness. The highlight of the meal, however, was the Thai Sweet Basil Chicken. This dish was bursting with vibrant flavors – the basil added a fragrant touch, and the sauce had a delightful blend of sweet and savory notes. The chicken was cooked just right, making each bite a pleasure. Overall, the dining experience on Princess Street was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service attentive, and the atmosphere lively. It's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a variety of well-prepared dishes in Edinburgh. Highly recommended!

We should have checked the reviews before eating in this place! We ordered beef bao bun, chicken satay, sweet and sour beef and chicken tonkatsu. Beef bao bun- Bun is hard and cold. The beef is also hard and chewy. Chicken satay- Chicken is dry Sweet and sour beef- THIS IS THE WORST BEEF we had tried ever. It is like eating a rubber!! My partner had a toothache trying to chew the beef. I Now, she is suffering from discomfort because of this! Tonkatsu chicken- Not good!

Not recommendable. The meat was tough, the service apathetic, bored and without any attention. The card was simply handed to us carelessly and goodbye. Price-performance wasn't right, you had to wait a long time for the food, which was too small. Sry but that was nothing. Avoid this restaurant, a visit is not recommended.

Tried this place as it was right beside my hotel. The reviews sketched me out but I wanted the ramen so I gave it a shot. Was served right away and my food came out in about 10 mins and the waitress checked on me after my first few bites. It was exactly what I wanted and tasted great! Only critique would be the menu images do not match what you get, however, if you're not making it yourself you never know what you're gonna get. I'd say my needs were satisfied and that the reviews on this place are unfair and likely made by picky tourists who need constant attention and service.

Try to avoid this place at all costs Food too salted to eat. Depressed Atmosphere. The most annoying point is the service. At Beginning ,the waiter told us they use new card machines so we should pay in cash. well, I have to went princess street for cash withdrawal(pay with 3.5£ withdrawal fee), but we check the bills, she told us there’s no change there we have to pay in card. Badly experience there and I don’t recommend anyone be there. If you want Thai food try ting Thai, same food for only half price there.(even taste better

Excellent food, we had pad thai shrimp and veggie ramen and they were both excellent. I think it has changed management very recently, because seeing the reviews from a few months ago I can say that I don't find myself there at all. The waitress was courteous and attentive, the dishes were not at all like the review photos, but they were neat and more beautiful. Great taste too! Slightly expensive (1 starter and 2 dishes = 40 euros), but we are in the center of Edinburgh so I would say it's okay.

We ate here on a Sunday at 1430, and the place was empty. Should have been a warning sign. The waitress seemed bothered to have to help us, but we were finally able to place our order after tracking her down to tell her. We ordered the chicken satay, which was terribly overcooked and chewy, and the prawn gyoza, which was obviously store bought, not homemade, and came out luke warm. We followed the starters with chicken basil, which again had overcooked and chewy chicken and pad Thai with prawns, which was too dry with chewy sticky noodles. There were maybe 3 prawns cut in half lengthwise, too appear more abundant. The only dish that was close to authentic and good was the green papaya salad. The waitress never once came to check on us, and we ended up having to track her down again to pay the check. Yes, it's Scotland, and it's asking a lot for authentic Thai food so better to pass on this and try some traditional Scottish food instead.

Very unlike me, I walked into this restaurant before reading the reviews. I immediately regretted that once I sat down to check Google, but still I decided to order something simple to give this restaurant a chance. The food was ready in less than 10 min, which is already concerning. The miso soup was beyond terrible. It was a tasteless white broth with barely any miso flavour that I could taste. I don’t understand how you can mess up a miso soup. I also ordered some hoisin duck bao buns, which I guess were ok-ish although they were swimming in mayo. My friend ordered a fried rice which was overcooked and soggy. Given the time that it took them to bring the food, I assume they prepare it ahead of time and reheat it. The crispy fried calamari lacked seasoning and just tasted of fried batter. The service honestly wasn’t much better than the food. We asked if we could be seated at the back and we were told no because there was 2 of us and those tables were for 4 (the restaurant was and remained half empty the entire time we were there). No water. No asking how the food was… That’s it, I have nothing good to say about this restaurant. There are so many great places to eat in Edinburgh. Don’t ruin your trip coming here.

It's really unpalatable. It turned out to be a local restaurant that served delicious steaks and seafood. How did it turn into a Thai restaurant opened by a Chinese? I guessed that the boss had changed due to the epidemic. When I asked the Indian guy at the counter, he told me that it had been open for nine years... Everything was cold, the food was served very slowly, and the final bill was wrong... I really want to tell the chef who came out for a work meal in the afternoon when there were no customers, the food you cook here is really unpalatable, and ask the boss to rectify it... But forget it Only then did I realize that the score was already low enough.

Wasn't great. Had hoisin duck and the beef bao buns to start although for some reason everything was bought out together. The duck bao were good but the beef ones were awful. They were more like beef bullets and were stone cold. My teriyaki salmon was inedible. The salmon was so dry, it was literally hard (I suspect it was left over from lunch). It was also tiny, literally the size of 2 of my fingers. The dish was drowning in a teriyaki sauce that was so salty I could not eat it. The only thing I managed was some of the rice. The other dish was a katsu curry. My daughter said she liked it; good sized pieces of moist chicken, however the curry was watered down. Not value for money and would not recommend. Will not be returning.

I feel the some of the reviews are unfair. My wife and I had two courses which were both flavoursome and tasty. Thai chilli beef soup was delicious and the beef was soft and tender, (could’ve been a little spicier) Tempura prawns - top notch 👌🏼 We both had chicken curry for main one Red and the other Katsu. Both were delicious. The rice was quite sticky but for the price we were both happy with what we had. Table was wobbly and the staff weren’t the most attentive but give it a chance, you might like it.

Please avoid this place at any cost! When we came in, we expect to have a good early dinner because the menu seems good. The waiter was not friendly at all. The food came, we ordered the Spicy Thai Beef Noodle and Sweet Chilli Seabass Rice. The fish was very fishy as if it has been kept in a freezer for ages! It smells and the waiter has the audacity to say that “oh it’s fishy because its fish?”. Like fresh fish will not smell like that and first of all, no seabass will come in the size that you just served us. The waiter told us that we don’t have to pay for the sea bass dish and brought out an omelette for replacement. Absolute garbage The soup on the other hand is giving me diarrhoea vibes. The chef just simple made a soy sauce and chilli soup. Beef was tough and the noodle was so little. I had to remove my noodle from the soup because it was so spicy. Please improve!! Such a bad experience

We have come to Edinburgh for an anniversary and we love Thai food so we thought we would try Noodle n Rice as it’s in a decent location on rose street and was very busy. We were seated pretty much straight away but immediately a table to our left was making complaints about the food. We decided to ignore it and ordered drinks and food after about 15 minutes. However, our drinks took about 45 minutes to arrive and they had forgotten my cocktail. I went to the bar and ordered bottles of beer instead and took them to the table myself. We had ordered chicken satay and veg bao buns for starter but they had ran out of bao buns so I re-ordered veg gyoza. However, when my gyoza came out they had forgotten my partners chicken satay so he was waiting for ages and my starter was cold by the time his came. The starters were pretty tasty so we decided to stay for our main course. However, the main course came about 25 minutes later and my pad Thai tasted disgusting and my partner got the wrong dish. Meanwhile, another table had complained as they had messed up their meals. We sent my partners meal back and asked them to change it to the correct meal but my pad Thai was so bad that I told them we wanted our mains cancelled and we would pay for our drinks and starters only. They blamed it on being short staffed but honestly it was just lack of organisation and poor communication skills that caused this. An absolute joke really. Would not recommend.

Here beef n rice meal was pretty ordinary and lacked any imagination, also not warm. Wouldn’t return or recommend.

What an experience. I've never had so much fun and laughter in a dining experience. We passed by and took a look at the menu outside. The ramen and masamam really caught our eye since we really love different types of Asian food. We ordered the prawn tempura, chicken wings, beef masamam, and prawn ramen. For drinks, they were very honest about the orange juice not being freshly squeezed, so I decided to get the cranberry juice. They promptly came back with our drinks, and we awaited for the food to arrive. The cranberry juice tasted very much like orange, which I thought was a bit weird. But since it also looked orange, it started making sense. The food arrived, and the breaded prawn with sweet chilli sauce looked nice, along with the chicken wings. The masamam and the ramen made their way as well. An attempt to fish out the beef pieces in the curry was made, but I rolled a 5, so I was only able to poke one with of my shrimp sticks. The chicken wings did seem quite freshly made, as part of them were still clucking around. The outside of them were delicious, but the insides were too rare for my taste. The breaded shrimp were pretty good. And much to my delight, I had some in my ramen as well. But we'll get to that. The masamam gave me a great sense of nostalgia. It was almost the same taste as the chicken korma I get from the local co-op during a rainy day when coming back from work. But with Bell peppers. Now, the ramen. The noodles were good. I think someone really wanted to drown those breaded shrimp harder than a weasel in a mafioso family. The bell peppers in it were definitely a surprise, as were the heads of broccoli. They must've talked to my mom, and she must've told them how I hadn't eaten enough broccoli when I was a kid. That seems the only plausible reason as to why there would be broccoli in my warm water with noodles. By the end of it, there was a nice surprise! A bit of kellogs kornflakes taste from the soaked in water bread crumbs that had slowly been shed off the shrimps that used to inhabit that habitat. Adding the sweet chilli that came with the wannabe tempura definitely improved the taste though. We thought about getting pudding, just to cleanse the palette a bit. The waitress sorted us out with a verbal list of desserts. We picked the sticky toffee pudding with a vanilla ice cream ball. As she made her way to make the request, we were left with all of our plates on the tables with what remained in them. Pushing our plates to the table next to us had great results though, highly recommend it! Before our dessert arrived, she was also very kind as to offering to take our drinks away from us. Alas, refreshments were still necessary as our quest had not reached a conclusion at that time. Finally, the vanilla ice cream ball on top of the cake. With some toffee on it, just to make that cherry better. It was soft, and the ice cream was still frozen. No bell peppers were added to it. Tldr: Please avoid until either prices are adjusted or the food preparation completely changes. Nothing was authentic. There were too many bell peppers everywhere. Bread crumbed does not make it tempura. Chicken should be cooked through. Anything with breadcrumbs should not be soaked into the ramen broth, put it on top of noodles that should be poking out of the broth instead. Whatever they were passing as masamam should have its name rectified on the menu. Orange juice is not cranberry juice. The cake was alright.

Ordered the Chicken Wonton Noodle Soup, Bao Buns and Mango Salad. After 40 mins the food came but my noodle soup had no noodles. Waiter said he’ll check but never came back to us until we went up to him 10 min later at the bar. And all he said was someone else was checking. No idea if they were making a new one or if they were out of noodles?? Buns looked like a mess, carrots under it and not in it…? And mayo in it which I can safely say is not authentic. I am all for eateries adapting their food to the locals’ taste if they don’t claim to be authentic but the word authentic is in their menu. Mango salad was ok, can’t really go wrong with raw vegetables. When my noodle soup finally came it was really sweet with bell peppers in it which is also not authentic haha They were probably short-staffed today, I’ll give them that. Many people were waiting to be seated, served and many tables not cleared. Anyway I won’t be coming back. Should’ve walked 5 min down to Golden Dragon for more authentic Chinese food.

A girls night out ruined. What can I say, we thought we'd try it as it's newly opened, and in a convenient location. However, to say we were disappointed is an understatement. First, they were not aware of our reservation, which my friend had booked in person. When I finally got a table, I had to ask for a menu which we ended up sharing between 5 of us! We ordered and ended up having to ask repeatedly where our food was. They didn't check on us or apologise for an over an hour wait. When they did arrive, one was missing and it seemed like they had been sitting there for at and had been slopped into the plates..not to mention none of the dishes tasted authentic. We had ordered various noodle dishes and they were not up to our expectations. Beware: don't trust what they say. They recommended a noodle saying it was similar to Pad Thai noodles and ended up being completely different in look and spiciness level to my friend's disappointment. They also said there would be chili inside and instead it was full of black pepper! Another friend ordered Pad Thai and it tasted nothing like it. And don't even think about ordering papaya salad.. was hardly any papaya and was so spicy I had a coughing fit after trying one mouthful since I was so famished waiting for my meal! We also asked if the fruit juices were fresh - they said yes they were but they ended up tasting like they were straight of a can (all three of them: fruit punch, aloe, and coconut). They use 'stock images' on the menu so some are not even actually representative of the items so can be quite confusing! My meal arrived very late after everyone got theirs - at least 30 min. To give you an idea of time, I arrived at 7.30pm, we ordered before 8pm, enquired at 8.15pm and still hadn't got all our meals at 9pm. We had to keep chasing them (2-3 times) while we got no update and they served other customers who had arrived after us. We asked to speak to the manager around 9.20pm since I still hadn't received my meal and we were appalled by the service and food quality.. but like the serving staff, the manager just gave a bunch of excuses nor gave any apology. Luckily, we didn't end up having to pay but needless to say, we won't be coming back. Too bad as I LOVE Thai food and like to support local businesses. I'm really not sure how they already have 3 locations.. Unfortunately, two nasty women at the table beside us had the gal to make derisive comments under their breath as we left, calling is 'b*t***s' 'trying it on'. First, who are you to judge when you have no idea what we experienced? Two, maybe you absolutely have no taste buds and wouldn't know 'good' food if it slapped you in the face. Third, thanks for making an already poor experience worse! Maybe you are just jealous we are younger and good looking. Either way, you shouldn't be bashing other women when you have absolutely no clue and no class. We ended not finishing our meals (mine happened to arrive just as we were fed up and about to leave). We were obviously unsatiated so opted to go to Time 4 Thai which was the BEST decision of the night. It was truly night and day.. peaceful tasteful decor and ambiance, delicious genuine thai food, respectful staff and prompt service..what more can you ask for? Not sure why places like this aren't as busy but we highly recommend! So my advice is to avoid Noodle N' Rice if you know what's good for you!

I am from the UK but live in Thailand. My partner is Thai. This is the worst Thai food that we have ever had in the UK by a very long way. It tasted absolutely nothing like real Thai food.

We ate here on a recent trip to Edinburgh. We had Thai fishcakes as a starter and stir fried king prawns with cashew nuts. We were really looking forward to a tasty thai meal but had nothing but dissatisfaction. The starter came out with the main meal!! Not sure how we were supposed to eat 2 courses at the same time!! When we told the waiter he just shrugged and said that was how they always do it. The fishcakes were awful and not like we were expecting at all. More like thinly sliced meat and could taste no fish. The stir fry was completely bland and tasteless and we could not finish the meal. We spent £62 altogether so we were not impressed at all !! This was supposed to be a special occasion meal for us and thought we had found a special place to eat. When we told the waiter at the end he didn't seem at all bothered. The toilet had no loo roll or hand soap and the floor had a puddle of water around the loo. Don't waste money on eating in this place!! Look for a proper Thai restaurant as we wish we had now. Will never return or reccomend this place ever!!

Genuinely the worst establishment I’ve ever came across in my life. Do not eat here under any circumstances. I *literally* would not eat anything from here if you paid me.

Definitely NOT Thai. We waited 40mins for our orders and got disappointed. Pad Thai have bell peppers, bland and just became sour after sprinkling lime. First time eating super sweet Beef teriyaki soup (too diluted) and not the usual drizzled beef. Servers were accommodating but definitely the food is not worth trying.

Rose Street is an iconic place in Edinburgh. No matter if it's a pub, restaurant or fast food/ street food - it has to be: 1. Delicious and fresh. And to provide a friendly service (and to be clean of course). I just imagine all tourists that would pass by and eventually get some food there - what a disappointment. Food was faaaar away from fresh or well cooked - oily, soggy, sticky, no fresh veg apart from the massive amount of cheap red onion. I've managed to find 4 overcooked prawns in the pad Thai. Noodles served on a greasy plate with dry chilli flakes OMG is this Thai? Service was faaaar away from anything you can call table service. This was definitely my last visit there.

The crust of my fried prawns had melted into rhe ramen bowl probably due to long standing time in kitchen. Looong waiting time: The waiter skipped us and served another table. Dakmily hits playing on stream. The ramen was otherwise ok.

We ordered mostly vegetarian dishes. The food was very good but definitely not authentic Thai (having been to Thailand before). The tip felt a bit pushed at the end.

First the meal comes too late The chicken soup was very good. The beef soup with rubbery meat was not very good! The shrimp noidle there were only three! And finally when you want to pay they practically impose a minimum tip of 12.5% up to 20% or nothing!! which puts you in a bind! I don't necessarily recommend it🫤

Give me all the carrots. It's my favorite. It depends on how many carrots you have.

First order and will be last. Chicken in chow mein was horrendous, very dark , dry meat that didn't look or taste like chicken, went in bin. Husband had chicken balls which he said were lovely, we both thought the fried rice was horrible and it too went in bin. Gloopy and tasted stale. Heard good things about this place, maybe it was having an off night but I won't take chance again, do not recommend.

Very poor food. Expensive. Nothing was seasoned. Felt like half the menu was missing, including the guacamole which is baffling for a Mexican restaurant. When we brought up our experience with the waitress she blamed it on the fact that they were shutting down shortly. Very poor form overall.

Just waited 2 hours for my stake pie to turn up mushy and barley cooked and chips are shocking absolutely shocking standards of food waste of money
