Nonna Said… in Glasgow City

It's not worth going there just for the gluten-free pizza. As a non-Scotsman, perhaps a very unusual area and unusual place to have parties in the evening. Very strange smell also in the store which is disturbing when eating. We were glad when we had oxygen outside again. Otherwise, nice friendly service!

Best giant mozza stick you’ll ever have

Way way way too salty. I've tried Nona Said three times now in hopes that the amount of salt in the sauce had been a mistake, but it's now confirmed. The first time I literally couldn't finish it. I'm Greek, so I'm definitely comfortable with seasoning, but this was beyond my taste buds' capacity. The base is tasty, although I prefer firmer pizza because I don't like to roll it or eat it with cutlery. Service was excellent though, absolutely lovely staff.

A great place to try more interesting pizza toppings. We got a vegan salt and chili chicken pizza and a shawarma pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and huge portions. Really nice that they allow you to turn any of the regular pizzas veggie or vegan. Extremely reasonable price for what you get too. Got the homemade iced tea which was great. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and the interior is really nice. You can also play the arcade games for free which is great. Will definitely be back!

We went in as a group for the lunch deal. Great pizza, nice staff, cool decor. Recommended if you're in the area.

Stopped in for dinner before a gig in the barrolands! Staff were great in got added into the pub quiz while we waited. Good fun and the pizza was really tasty

While the offer of 3 side plates for £20 felt a bit pricey 💸, especially considering the portion sizes were quite small, the quality of the dishes somewhat makes up for this. Oh dear. I can’t recommend this place. Staff were in attentive. Pizza was ok once I mopped up all the oil sitting on top of it. Bill came in at about £44 when I checked the receipt it said £52, the waitress said I must have pressed yes on machine to confirm the tip. I didn’t waitress said there was nothing she could do. I’ll not be going back. Go somewhere else.

Wow!!! What a place, had the best pizza and enjoyed such cool vibes, the best part a whole big menu for vegetarian and vegan people. Whenever i will come to glasgow i am coming here again because literally it was the best pizza of my life, such a unique flavour and made in fire fresh!!!! Highly highly recommended

Soooooo good. One of the best vegan menus in Glasgow and it tastes amazing. Honestly one of the best pizzas I've had and the sides are excellent, especially the lasagne bites and nonna loaded hash browns. Staff are really friendly and attentive. Very reasonably priced. Good selection of drinks and cool atmosphere. Looking forward to the next visit.

Went here for the first time and my goodness I was impressed. Great choices of food both for vegans and non vegans, great prices too and the portion sizes are impressive. The chilli cheese loaded fries were needed and just devoured and their cheese pizza was immense. The pizza sauce has such a rich tomato taste and just goes down a treat. Make sure you treat yourself to some hot honey too.

Very average food. Took a long time to get the bill after asking. Staff weren’t necessarily unfriendly but definitely didn’t feel welcoming or happy. Atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice though.

Last night I took my 8 year old & his friend along to Nonna Said for the Pokémon night & we all had a fantastic time. It was the busiest I’ve ever seen it, due to a few large groups turning up but the staff were super friendly & got our food & drinks to us quickly. Food was delicious. Value for the kids meals is brilliant & themed Pokémon treats where a brilliant touch! My son is vegan, and he was spoilt for choice with so many pizza options & even vegan ice cream! Skye & Andy served us throughout the evening and were really friendly & couldn’t do enough for us. 10/10 service & atmosphere. The kids said it was the best night ever and can’t wait to go back for the Mario night next week!

We came yesterday for pizza, the host was very welcoming from the start and very friendly. Not too long a wait for the pizza, but it was all freshly made and delicious 😋. We will definitely be coming back.

Went today first time with my daughter son in law and grandsons . We all had different things to eat . I really enjoyed my pizza margarita the pizza base was so good . It's a quirky place good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Went as part of a large group. Staff were excellent and handled our order well. Food was out in a reasonable time for such a large group though we were one of a small number of patrons so if it was busy this may change. Really enjoyed the Fried lasagne bites, and multiple people commented on the quality of the fries. Personally found the seasoning of the meat on my kebab loaded fries a little lacking in that it couldnt stand up to the sauces, this may work for your own taste though. Pizza was good in flavour but would have liked a little more toppings. Point off for atmosphere as the heating was broken otherwise it was nice, and they did sit us near the kitchen. Would go back (once the heating is fixed.)

I've been here a number of times and really enjoy it. The pizzas are all homemade with sourdough and have a variety of unique and normal toppings. I can recommend the salt and chili chicken pizza and the slow cooked garlic pizza. Also recommend the small plates such as the buffalo chicken tenders and rhe chili cheese bites. I usually share a pizza with whoever I'm with a get a selection of small plates or a loaded fries as I like everything! Also like the fact there is a seperate vegan menu which is pretty large. So tired of places only having a few options for vegan. My dairy free friend was able to customise his order which was appreciated. I marked it down one star for atmosphere as I've been a few times and it's never super busy however that could be because of rhe time of day we went. There's great music, a pool table and I know they do different deals for during the week.

Few beers were had, within this great atmosphere bar. Friendly staff taking care of everyone. Never had any food, so I can't comment.

The food was great! Visited on a Wednesday, so it was quiet. Prices are really good too.

Food was amazing and an ok price. However we got told when we came in around 11.30 and got told no drinks just pizza which was perfectly fine. However after 12am while we were finishing up, the other table that was there were offered more drinks and got served, while we didn’t question it initially since places have different serving times, it felt a bit targeted as to why we weren’t served. It was two different servers so we weren’t sure if it was miscommunication or what but we weren’t happy leaving with the service given.

Been around for drinks only on one of the busy Saturdays and got to admit it is one of the hidden gems in Merchant City! Cool atmosphere with old school vibe , great selection of drinks and friendly staff. Looking forward to come back for some proper scran. Update - the menu is simple yet great choices, we treated ourselves to camembert pizza and it was absolutely splendid, fresh dough and cooked to perfection.

The place and the staff are very nice but we were very disappointed by the vegan cheese. The crust also had quite a burnt taste. If you are only vegetarian we recommend to take the dairy cheese with the vegan meats. The prices are correct, especially for students.

The food was just incredible. We tried the vegan Bratwurst Pizza, the vegan Philly pizza, deep fried pickles and the vegan salt and chillie fries. It was truly divine. The cocktails were so good too, it was hard not to order another round. Blown away by the flavours of each item. We will be back!

Little wait time for food to arrive whether the restaurant was busy or not. I ordered sides with my main courses as I was worried it may not be a good portion however I was delightfully proved wrong. Staff were very polite and welcoming upon arrival and made sure our visits were excellent. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We were looking for something to eat with visiting family and I remembered about Nonna Said... We went to try it out and absolutely loved it. The service was amazing from the moment we entered that staff were kind and courteous. We ordered the 3 plates for £18 and let me tell you it was great value for money. I have the Lasagne Fritta, Nonna Dried Pickles and Salt and Chill chicken tenders. I had a Purple Burglar Alarm cocktail to wash it down. This is definitely a place I'll be revisiting.

There are several good pizza places in Glasgow but Nonna Said is definitely near the top of the list. The vibrant atmosphere is really cool too - it reminded me a lot of Portland, Oregon. The food is legitimately delicious. I was skeptical but we ordered a capriciosa and a nonna kebab pizza and both were far better than I expected; the ingredients were actually really high quality and very fresh. Plus our meal was amazing value (we paid £28 for 2x pizzas, 1x side and a few drinks). They even have 30% student discount from Sundays to Wednesdays (I’m a PhD student so definitely coming back!).

Had a great hot dog at lunch, great service and very tempting lunch deal that the others got and really enjoyed.

Location is fab and service was excellent, however the food was not the tastier. There was definitely too much vegan cheese on both the pizzas we ordered and it was hard to taste any other of the ingredients on top. The pizza dough was good tho, I’d definitely give it another try.

Walked in with some friends while looking for a place to eat. Wasn't expecting much but food really blew us away, ended up ordering more than we could eat. Our server Zach was hilarious, place was starting to fill up but he made time to chat with us, really made us feel welcome. Definitely be back again!

Absolutely love that they have a separate vegetarian/vegan menu (including specials) that is pretty much their main menu but adapted! The pizza’s were massive and the staff extremely efficient and fast. Will be back to try the rest of the menu! Also the restaurant itself is fantastic, lots of cool street art and funny cartoons and a street fighter arcade cabinet!

Honestly never heard of this place until my wife suggested it for lunch - looked at the menu and thought to myself ah right this'll do, didn't know what to expect, it says it's a pizza place but it's so much more! First, the pizza, yes, it was on point, the sauce was unique and delcious and the crust was fantastic. But the other food I had (chicken fajitas/garlic, chili and lime fries) were absolutely incredible! Vibe was fantastic, they had a free street fighter arcade machine, so got my game on before my meal showed up. Would defintely go back!

The BEST pizza we've ever had. I would go all the way back to Glasgow just to go back here again! Theres amazing vegan options available, aswell as non vegan options. I'm just sorry we couldn't tip as we didn't have any change.

Nice place, and a bit of a different offering - especially when trying to get some different kinds of veggie food. A bit pricey, especially for drinks but I'd go again if I was after some comfort deep fried veggie options (especially the battered gherkins 🤌)

Sigh. I always try to see the best in businesses but in all honesty this will be a challenging write. While the bar/restaurant is nicely decorated with a cool vibe, I wish everything else was on par. There are significantly better places in Glasgow for this style of pizza at a similar price point. Everything was overpriced, over-promised and under delivered. The same is applicable for the rest of the menu. I genuinely hope it gets better and I wish them well because the potential is there if they just lose the "gimmickyness" of it all, invest in better quality ingredients and address portion size in relation to price. Until then it's a no for Nonna from me.

Had the place to ourselves in a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. Delicious pizza! A little greasy for our liking but flavor was good.

If you want mouth watering pizza this is the spot. I only found out about it BC the club I was staying was handing out free pizzas at the corset club. And my goodness I've never had a better pizza since. If you go to Nona said on the weekend they do £5 pizzas and after 9 pm they also give out free pizza if you buy a drink 😆.

Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant is very dark, more night/ going out vibes. Salt and chilli chips are 10/10.

Came across it by accident, when heading back to the car from a day out in Glasgow. Quirky decor and great music. It is a real gem on a place, fairly short menu, but the food was great. We had a few of the smaller plates, and the classic hotdog, and it was all fab, with amazingly fast and super friendly service to boot. The homemade ice tea was also great. Defo one to return to. We didn’t have room for the pizzas, but they looked excellent too.

I was really looking forward to my visit here after hearing great things about the food. We walked in at lunch and got the coldest greeting I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Despite having two children we didn’t get any kids menus, so after sitting a while I eventually got up and went over to get them from the one staff member present. We sat again for a while, and weren’t approached for a drinks order. The one member of staff there then wandered off and dealt with a JustEat delivery order. After another 5 mins with no staff in sight we got up and walked out. There was only one other table of customers in the place, so it wasn’t exactly busy, so that can’t be used as an excuse. Won’t be back- many other options in the area!

Amazing pizzas & the staff are lovely

Disappointing first time here. Not super busy but perhaps short-staffed as drinks order took over 45mins to arrive (party of 7). Food followed shortly after which was ok by some but not enjoyed by others (veggie options). Little communication even to acknowledge the wait. Didn't want to hang around for a second round of drinks! Where we were seated it was dark, noisy, couldn't hear one another speak.

Visited on a 5pm offer. Great value. Pizza are great, made to order & plenty topping, (some unusual toppings). Tried the deep fried breaded lasagne! Great but think my cholesterol shot up! Wine well chilled. Staff lovely & friendly. Recommend

What a great place I had the salt and chilli hot dog which was amazing and the pizzas looked awesome too, the lasagne bites are an amazing snack, the decor is pretty cool always something to see, deffo give it a visit.

Fun vegan pizzas, not astounding quality but very tasty. Mostly fake meats ect but I enjoyed. Cheap and cheerful, great quality and selection for the the price! We have the date night deal which was a great deal!

This is my first negative review. We were not impressed or satisfied with the service or food at this restaurant at all. Small portions, sticky surfaces, and we felt completely ignored by staff. The attitude from staff was also not friendly at all. I would suggest any fast food restaurant before I would recommend a meal from here. Also not cheap!

Great starters, pizza and fajitas. Audrey and Zack were fabulous and took great care of our party of 12 with quick, friendly service.

Used to be really good , I genuinely loved the place that is until they started using cheap chicken meat on all the pizzas kinda got sick
