NOKA in Brentwood

This was our first visit to this restaurant and definitely will not be our last. Food was exceptional and so fresh. The staff are really friendly, especially Adam who made us very welcome. I can honestly say It is the best Indian meal I have had in a long time. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We tried Coriander last week and were very impressed. The food shows a lovely lightness of touch in the cooking, not swimming in ghee like lots of other places. Dishes were well spiced, and the only small comment was that we found some dishes to be lacking seasoning/salt, but soon added at the table. Other than that it was a very good atmosphere on the night and the staff were all great, going out of their way to make it a really enjoyable evening. We’ll definitely be going back!

Second visit this evening, absolutely delicious food and excellent, friendly service again. Poppadoms are best we've had, and our dishes super tasty and generous portions. Staff are truly welcoming and engaging. Lovely clean restaurant, already booked to dine in again soon. A great asset to Ingatestone!

Just had a takeaway…… not up to anymore than one star! Really disappointed as reading several reviews and being local, we were hoping that this would be a good regular food place for us but we won’t be visiting again! Not authentic and not good! Almost all our order is in the bin!

Absolutely incredible evening. The food was wonderful and the staff extremely friendly and took care of all of our needs. We live in Sweden and are here in Essex visiting friends and family. Our local friends had been here before and said the food was exceptional so we knew we had to come. The owner went out of his way to look after us, really incredible service from all the staff and of course the food was perfect. Between our party we had about 10 different dishes and I tried all of them and just wow, superb food! The kids all said that it was the best Indian food they had ever had and I can’t disagree, fantastic! I also got to have an amazing experience because the owner knew that I really enjoy English lamb diner kebab so he specifically got me one from a sister kebab shop and served it on a plate with naan and salad and chilli and lime. Oh my god, absolutely incredible, maybe no one can ever order that here but it just shows how above and beyond these guys will go to make sure you have a great time! Highly, highly recommended!! 10/10

New Indian restaurant in town. Dined in with friends and had a very good meal. Service is very friendly but sometimes felt a little haphazard. Mains could have been hotter (temperature) but very good flavours, well presented and an overall good experience. Will definitely go back.

Noka is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! The food is incredible. Every dish is packed with flavour and made with top quality ingredients. Was excited to try a new indian in town but... staff are unfriendly and unprofessional and the food was reaching mediocre. I've always gone to Nirvana across the road and honestly the food slaps and will continue to go there instead.

The service reminded me of Faulty towers! It was a shame as the quality of the food was very good. No.0% Lager available and no port.

Fantastic gem of a restaurant, very tasty food that you can tell is freshly made and the chef has put a lot of effort into making it aesthetically look pleasing and the food doesn’t disappoint. The staff are brilliant, very welcoming and make you feel at home. There is plenty of parking space and the atmosphere is very good. Prices are very fair for the dining experience you receive. I will definitely e coming back to Noka and I recommend everyone go and try the place out and see for yourselves

Been here a couple of times to collect and both times the food has been fantastic. Atmosphere always seems really great when I walk through, will have to eat in next time!

First take away very very disappointing. Food bland, lacking flavour and authentic Indian spices. Maybe not the usual chef but chicken and sides all lacked taste and usual expected flavour. Salmon had bones in every mouthful and tasted unusually fishy - piece of plastic in salad finished it off - bad!

Rice was clumpy as if out of a ping meal. Caught a member of staff sipping a drink to give to my wife then giving it to her. Drink orders made mistakes twice. Told to leave table straight after eating our meal cause other people were waiting .They didn't have other tables for them or the space .They need desperately to get organised better. BAD EXPERIENCE. Also building works were being carried out at 6.30pm in the premises. WHATS THAT ALL ABOUT.?

Booked a table for 2 last night. When we sat down we were told it was their last night before closing so the menu was limited! Why weren't we told before we booked?! Literally 5 dishes left on the menu. Poor quality. Unprofessional staff, treating the place like a youth centre. No wonder it's closing down.

We came here last year and loved it, but on our recent visit felt there was a lot less sushi options! We tried the prawns, broccolini and the Padron peppers but everything just tasted too spicy.

2nd visit here and it won’t be the last! Have been for bottomless brunch before (table of 16) and this is by far the most enjoyable and best quality brunch I’ve had for the price (compared to London brunches this trumps them all!) 10 of us visited again for dinner and Noka did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and we could not fault the service. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout the meal, overall a brilliant restaurant and can’t wait for our next visit.

My sister, Dad and I, had 3 tapas and a main each. Food was spectacular, especially the Salmon Sushi!! Waitress was lovely 😊 Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Lovely intimate restaurant with great food. Service was average, but attentive. Prices were quite high, compared to similar restaurants, but Noka come across as a premium option. Good drinks selection. Plenty of parking at the front and pubs nearby. Would recommend.

Nice eaterie in the heart if ingatestone, Essex. Food ok. I gave a 4* as i found it really expensive for what we had. Ordered the lobster sushi for £20 but honestly couldnt taste any lobster at all. Soft shell crab was also a little overcooked. I eat this all the time and cook myself, so I am pretty experienced in this delicacy. Would return but would probably be more conscious of the prices. Cocktails were nice and really reasonable 👌 Vut what i did like is outside on the patio area. It's dog friendly, so you can bring your furry friend with you. LOVE THIS!

I went to Noka for a friend's birthday party and I was impressed with the service, the food and good vibes of the environment. I enjoyed the food but not the starter, it was sweet and sour something that the staff recommended. I'm not a great fan of sweet & sour dishes. I will definitely go back 👍

The place didn't appear to have our booking yet the staff were brilliant and sat us at a table. Our daughter had the vegan sushi and me and my husband and I shared the crab,lemon chicken, and peking ribs with some rice and veg. Really great tasting food and service. First time eating here and really had a lovely evening.

What a wonderful experience! The food was excellent, the staff were amazingly helpful particularly with my long list of allergies, making sure I didn't miss out on any of the deliciousness or go hungry. I couldn't have asked for more!

Firstly service was lovely, can't fault the staff what so ever! Have been to Noka previously multiple times and the food was delicious, tasted as good as food you would get up london like ivy Asia. Unfortunately the food has massively gone down hill. Lacks the spark it had before. Tempura prawns were watery and flavourless, batter was greasy. sushi was mediocre, barely above supermarket sushi. I hear there is a new head chef. NOKA should get the old chef back as I won't be going back until I hear better things.

Sushi is served without chopsticks and soy sauce. Sushi is very small. Appetizer and main course are served at the same time. This is the finish line.

The menu is a fantastic array of deliciousness, well presented and full of variety and interesting dishes. Good value too for the quality. The place itself is quite small with modern decor and a patio. Well worth a visit.

Lovely staff, perfectly helpful. The bibimbap was less perfect. Bibimbap means mixed rice and so is normally served in a bowl so you can actually mix it. It was served in a plate. Simply not bibimbap at all. The flavours individually were quite nice however. The nigiri was also disappointing. The wasabi was of little quality, looking like and feeling like playdoh. The rice was also far too vinegary and not made compact enough-it totally fell apart when I lifted it. The fried chicken was very crispy though. Nice water too.

Noka is definitely worth a visit! Delicious food - fantastic staff and welcoming environment. 3 for 2 tapa's on a Wednesday is a must try - you won't be disappointed.

Excellent restaurant & Bar, nice outside section. This venue ‘Got it Right’ it has a touch of real class without being pretentious or excluding. Very varied themed nights with singers and DJ’s playing background level music. Not had one issue yet. Food it wonderful. An asset to Ingatestone

Was so looking forward to eating some sushi after being pregnant for the last 9 months but we were simply appalled by the portion size….4 tiny bits for nearly £10 and it really wasn’t even very nice. Even in Londons top sushi restaurants you get 6-8 pieces in a roll for that price. Luckily everything else we ordered was delicious but definitely don’t bother with the sushi unless you want to remortgage your house to eat enough to fulfil your hunger

Lovely atmosphere ,food and service !

Went to Noka last week after getting a recommendation from a friend saying it was brilliant, My wife and I had to try it out! The food was absolutely fantastic with a great selection of food which rivals any Asian restaurant in London we have been to. The service was fantastic even though the restaurant was very busy. Nothing seemed rushed or too much of an effort and our waitress was very friendly. The ambiance in Noka was absolutely scintillating for a Saturday night and we both had most fun. We will certainly be going back and making it a regular place to eat out.

Went for the bottomless lunch, starter good not amazed by it but good Main was weak, to small and way to much sauce Needs a bit more care and attention DJ at 1pm was a bit to heavy, and was on his mobile phone for 80% of the time, needs to mellow down for the time of day to softer chilled house Decoration is needed, this place is stuck in the early 2010's Glitter and South East Asian wallpaper has had it's time, bar looks out dated and to much Noka signage Needs new furniture, and new flooring Service was great no complaints there, nice people I wouldn't recommend it this time around, but will try again, as the current climate has been tough

My first trip to Noka and will certainly not be my last. To start a very good selection of cocktails and wines - I asked for a classic cocktail which wasn't explicitly on the menu but the very skilled and accommodating bar staff were able to provide with no issues. The restaurant had a great buzz to it, full but with plenty of space between tables - not crammed into a small section where you have to shout to be heard. Later on in the evening there was some live music which I have sometimes found to be disruptive to a meal but the genre (and importantly volume!) were well managed to ensure it only added to the dining experience. On to the food - as a vegetarian I often have to make a lot of compromise and miss out on the best items a restaurant has to offer but I didn't have that experience at Noka at all. The crispy cauliflower and the Asian padron peppers were personal highlights. All in all 10/10 and looking forward to coming back!

I travelled here with a group of friends from Stratford and was amazed a the quality of food, service, atmosphere and price. It was an amazing evening, the particular highlight being the duck spring rolls. Their vegetarian options are so good too, there was something for everyone. Saturday nights seem to have a particularly friendly atmosphere which was great to see. 10/10 by all means, will be coming back regularly.

Noka is GREAT! Had such a wonderful time with my girl friends on Saturday night. The food is amazing! So sociable to share with your group, but also larger meals if you prefer to eat your own meal. Cocktails were fab too. We will be back!
