NOKA in Brentwood

Booked a table for 2 last night. When we sat down we were told it was their last night before closing so the menu was limited! Why weren't we told before we booked?! Literally 5 dishes left on the menu. Poor quality. Unprofessional staff, treating the place like a youth centre. No wonder it's closing down.

We came here last year and loved it, but on our recent visit felt there was a lot less sushi options! We tried the prawns, broccolini and the Padron peppers but everything just tasted too spicy.

2nd visit here and it won’t be the last! Have been for bottomless brunch before (table of 16) and this is by far the most enjoyable and best quality brunch I’ve had for the price (compared to London brunches this trumps them all!) 10 of us visited again for dinner and Noka did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and we could not fault the service. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout the meal, overall a brilliant restaurant and can’t wait for our next visit.

My sister, Dad and I, had 3 tapas and a main each. Food was spectacular, especially the Salmon Sushi!! Waitress was lovely 😊 Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Lovely intimate restaurant with great food. Service was average, but attentive. Prices were quite high, compared to similar restaurants, but Noka come across as a premium option. Good drinks selection. Plenty of parking at the front and pubs nearby. Would recommend.

Nice eaterie in the heart if ingatestone, Essex. Food ok. I gave a 4* as i found it really expensive for what we had. Ordered the lobster sushi for £20 but honestly couldnt taste any lobster at all. Soft shell crab was also a little overcooked. I eat this all the time and cook myself, so I am pretty experienced in this delicacy. Would return but would probably be more conscious of the prices. Cocktails were nice and really reasonable 👌 Vut what i did like is outside on the patio area. It's dog friendly, so you can bring your furry friend with you. LOVE THIS!

I went to Noka for a friend's birthday party and I was impressed with the service, the food and good vibes of the environment. I enjoyed the food but not the starter, it was sweet and sour something that the staff recommended. I'm not a great fan of sweet & sour dishes. I will definitely go back 👍

The place didn't appear to have our booking yet the staff were brilliant and sat us at a table. Our daughter had the vegan sushi and me and my husband and I shared the crab,lemon chicken, and peking ribs with some rice and veg. Really great tasting food and service. First time eating here and really had a lovely evening.

What a wonderful experience! The food was excellent, the staff were amazingly helpful particularly with my long list of allergies, making sure I didn't miss out on any of the deliciousness or go hungry. I couldn't have asked for more!

Lovely experience, came in on a Wednesday and only Jess was serving. Amazing service, amazing food (order too much haha) and loved the music which was Jess’s playlist! Would recommend to anyone and will be coming again soon! 11/10!

Firstly service was lovely, can't fault the staff what so ever! Have been to Noka previously multiple times and the food was delicious, tasted as good as food you would get up london like ivy Asia. Unfortunately the food has massively gone down hill. Lacks the spark it had before. Tempura prawns were watery and flavourless, batter was greasy. sushi was mediocre, barely above supermarket sushi. I hear there is a new head chef. NOKA should get the old chef back as I won't be going back until I hear better things.

Sushi is served without chopsticks and soy sauce. Sushi is very small. Appetizer and main course are served at the same time. This is the finish line.

The menu is a fantastic array of deliciousness, well presented and full of variety and interesting dishes. Good value too for the quality. The place itself is quite small with modern decor and a patio. Well worth a visit.

Lovely staff, perfectly helpful. The bibimbap was less perfect. Bibimbap means mixed rice and so is normally served in a bowl so you can actually mix it. It was served in a plate. Simply not bibimbap at all. The flavours individually were quite nice however. The nigiri was also disappointing. The wasabi was of little quality, looking like and feeling like playdoh. The rice was also far too vinegary and not made compact enough-it totally fell apart when I lifted it. The fried chicken was very crispy though. Nice water too.

Noka is definitely worth a visit! Delicious food - fantastic staff and welcoming environment. 3 for 2 tapa's on a Wednesday is a must try - you won't be disappointed.

Off the main road, with outdoor tables, lovely mocktails and a tasty bottomless brunch/lunch. Great service too. Parking out front when available.

Excellent restaurant & Bar, nice outside section. This venue ‘Got it Right’ it has a touch of real class without being pretentious or excluding. Very varied themed nights with singers and DJ’s playing background level music. Not had one issue yet. Food it wonderful. An asset to Ingatestone

Was so looking forward to eating some sushi after being pregnant for the last 9 months but we were simply appalled by the portion size….4 tiny bits for nearly £10 and it really wasn’t even very nice. Even in Londons top sushi restaurants you get 6-8 pieces in a roll for that price. Luckily everything else we ordered was delicious but definitely don’t bother with the sushi unless you want to remortgage your house to eat enough to fulfil your hunger

Lovely atmosphere ,food and service !

Went to Noka last week after getting a recommendation from a friend saying it was brilliant, My wife and I had to try it out! The food was absolutely fantastic with a great selection of food which rivals any Asian restaurant in London we have been to. The service was fantastic even though the restaurant was very busy. Nothing seemed rushed or too much of an effort and our waitress was very friendly. The ambiance in Noka was absolutely scintillating for a Saturday night and we both had most fun. We will certainly be going back and making it a regular place to eat out.

Had a fantastic evening at Noka, we couldn’t recommend it more! Excellent service with attentive staff, great atmosphere and delicious sushi. We’ll be returning!

Loved the food and the place. Ambient noise is quite loud when busy making hard to hear across the table(maybe something to do with my middle aged hearing!)

Fantastic gem! Gorgeous venue, friendly staff, nice ambience but the very best part was the food!!!! Delicious and reasonably priced. I'm usually pretty fussy with restaurants but really can't fault this one at all

Went for the bottomless lunch, starter good not amazed by it but good Main was weak, to small and way to much sauce Needs a bit more care and attention DJ at 1pm was a bit to heavy, and was on his mobile phone for 80% of the time, needs to mellow down for the time of day to softer chilled house Decoration is needed, this place is stuck in the early 2010's Glitter and South East Asian wallpaper has had it's time, bar looks out dated and to much Noka signage Needs new furniture, and new flooring Service was great no complaints there, nice people I wouldn't recommend it this time around, but will try again, as the current climate has been tough

Went for Breakfast I had Royal well it had a different twist with fresh herb dressing it was delicious nice and light loads of flavour 😋 lovely staff definitely going back to try there lunch time menu This is a must to vist

My first trip to Noka and will certainly not be my last. To start a very good selection of cocktails and wines - I asked for a classic cocktail which wasn't explicitly on the menu but the very skilled and accommodating bar staff were able to provide with no issues. The restaurant had a great buzz to it, full but with plenty of space between tables - not crammed into a small section where you have to shout to be heard. Later on in the evening there was some live music which I have sometimes found to be disruptive to a meal but the genre (and importantly volume!) were well managed to ensure it only added to the dining experience. On to the food - as a vegetarian I often have to make a lot of compromise and miss out on the best items a restaurant has to offer but I didn't have that experience at Noka at all. The crispy cauliflower and the Asian padron peppers were personal highlights. All in all 10/10 and looking forward to coming back!

I travelled here with a group of friends from Stratford and was amazed a the quality of food, service, atmosphere and price. It was an amazing evening, the particular highlight being the duck spring rolls. Their vegetarian options are so good too, there was something for everyone. Saturday nights seem to have a particularly friendly atmosphere which was great to see. 10/10 by all means, will be coming back regularly.

Noka is GREAT! Had such a wonderful time with my girl friends on Saturday night. The food is amazing! So sociable to share with your group, but also larger meals if you prefer to eat your own meal. Cocktails were fab too. We will be back!

The food and service were very good. A limited menu but this is preferable as hopefully the ingredients are fresh. Will certainly be returning.

If you have food allergies beware the menu does not state which items contain dairy or nuts so any decision on what can be ordered is delayed by very many trips to the kitchen by pleasant waiting staff. While they do offer to swap food for something you can eat the choice is exceedingly limited. Staff have very little food knowledge e.g.thinking a dairy allergy meant you can't eat eggs. The cheesecake was mediocre at best and the churros bore no resemblance to anything you might experience in France or Spain. The restaurant was clean, Bento boxes were well balanced; the staff are pleasant.

Had a delicious takeaway from Noka! Hadn't tried it since the menu change but it is incredible. The crispy duck leg is unreal.

Delicious food and nice atmosphere. One of the staff members can’t remember his name, had a very very small head (distractingly small) but he really went out of his way to accommodate us.

Seriously good asian tapas, the vibe is perfect for a big Saturday night. Major highlights go to the tuna maki and the teryaki beef. Book me in for a visit at least once a week!

This is a nice place to meet with family and friends for lunch. It also holds private functions in the evening occasionally. They do open some evenings and would be ideal for a nice quiet drink. The food is beautifully presented and tastes great. Their balcony area outside the front is open in late spring and throughout the Summer. Parking is directly to the front of the building. Wheelchair friendly.

The place is very modern - cosmopolitan - in decor. Staff and management are very friendly. I had the 'all day' (Saturdays only - mornings only on other days) breakfast and the food was of good quality and well cooked and presented. Other dishes we saw looked fine too. The place is also available for private hire - fitting 100 people comfortably - and has a small outside area with tables. They are licensed, but only have a bottle bar though, no draught beers, etc. I would certainly eat there again.

Setting, food and drinks all nice just a shame about a particular member of staff's rude demeanour. Ordered drinks and were chatting away in the half busy venue, when interrupted and told in no uncertain terms that if we didn't order food we would have to sit upstairs because it was a popular time. No problem with the policy as such but the way it was explained so abruptly and with so little charm showed an alarming lack of basic customer service. Will not be returning and wouldn't bother wasting your money either, unless you like being made to feel completely unwelcome. Worth remembering you serve a small village and word travels fast.

Staff are really lovely. Food is ok. Price is for top range but food doesn’t match up to the price. Presentation is great but quality not so much. Wish I could have left a better review but disappointing food. Great staff though.

Great menu (plus a separate vegan menu so ignore the earlier review saying there were no vegan options!), lovely service. They’ve made the terrace larger which is good.

Incredibly poor vegan options, as in none, managed to offer avocado on sour dough after much discussion, then got the order wrong as served with butter!!!! Good job I asked. Really need to improve options for different dietary requirements. Definitely need to educate staff on allergies!

It's very nice here; decor, food and drinks. But the reception is a little on the cold side. I've been a few times and it's been good enough to go back each time but I can't help but feel that I'm an inconvenience to the staff rather than a valued customer. I feel it's time to find another venue to meet up with friends for brunch and a natter.

Popped in for breakfast when passing through one morning. Had a full English with all the trimmings which went down well. The place is quite modern and the decoration fresh so nice place to have a bite to eat or drink. Parking was convenient just outside. Would go again and would recommend

Lovely local spot for breakfast and lunch, food is great and service is always friendly! Especially love the Eggs Benedict which is always tasty and perfectly prepared. Seating outside is perfect for a sunny day and if not there is a great selection of tables inside. Also special mention for the cake and pastry selection!

The lounge is so cosy, friendly & warm. You always get a lovely welcome and a stunning breakfast - whether that's a cooked one or a cakey one 😊 The lounge is always super clean and it's a great place for meeting friends and to take kids of any age too.

Beautifully decorated all staff are amazing, food is amazing 10/10 plates are clean, great atmosphere and located 10 minutes away from Ingatestone train station all in all worth every penny.
