No.4 Restaurant in Dumfries & Galloway

Whilst visiting the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse today we visited this fantastic coffee house. This is perched on top of a cliff edge and has some amazing views. The coffee house is clean and tidy, a little dated but don’t let that put you off. Plenty of beautiful and amazing gifts you can buy. The staff are happy, pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious a real pleasure to eat here I loved every bite.

I stayed 1 night after doing the Mabie Mountain bike trails, awesome location right on the trail head.I mistakenly put the wrong date in when booking(I'm a idiot)but it wasn't a problem at all.The room was lovely and clean with a nice hot shower.Food was superb especially the Black pudding Scotch egg,the burger was awesome also.Great hotel and great staff.

This was our second visit. Our first visit was a better experience even though I had to send back my starter because my toast was burnt. This visit was very disappointing. The starters were fine, thus 2 stars, but the mains were dreadful. I had the Thai green chicken curry and my wife the prawns, gnocchi and chorizo. My dish was bland with poor quality chicken breast (which is the worst part of the chicken), but my wife's dish was truly inedible. The chorizo was burnt, the squash undercooked and the gnocchi tasteless lumps of concrete. We absolutely would have sent them back but were on a tight schedule and had very limited time. I must question the consistency of the restaurants quality. I am not sure if we will come back to give them another try or not...

Best restaurant in Dumfries food is fantastic and the service is even better! Lovely family run business.

We had burgers which were delicious unfortunately the fries were like leftovers overcooked and were small and bitty. This was very disappointing as the table next to us had lovely looking fries.
