No. 46 Coffee Shop in Gwynedd

We called into No. 46 for coffee and cake and were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome. Both had cappuccinos, which were lovely. The sticky toffee cake and the cheese scones were absolutely lovely - the latter being the best I have ever tasted! I bought some to take away! We would both thoroughly recommend a visit to this coffee shop and will call again next time we are in the area. S & N ps. I also had a peek at the next tables lunch - that looked great too!

Been recommended. But totally disappointed. As we had the dog. I Asked if they where dog friendly. That table in the window. No where else. As someone was sitting there. So light heartedly, said so thats a no then. Thats it . So remained polite, thank you. Returned with a cold glare and a shrug. Poor customer relations

Had a lovely meal today. The quiche was the best we have eaten for a long time. Backed up by a latte and a pot of tea which was delightful We both enjoyed our meal. Very friendly staff . Very clean premises.

Came here for breakfast. Had cheese scone with bacon and fried egg as it was a bit different. Also had a slice of egg custard to take away. Cute place that is very popular.

Managed to finally visit, as normally we have dogs and the dog table is often taken up by people without dogs. We have been going past for about 3 years. So being dog free, we popped in and had lunch, my husband had the pizza panini and I had the Bacon and brie, food very tasty and we enjoyed the coffees. Like to say we will be back, but we will have the dogs and the chance of getting that table is slim😁

Food and service always excellent as is the atmosphere and we can definitely recommend the deep dish lemon meringue pie and the egg custard tart - superb!

We are on holiday in Criccieth and called in for lunch as we needed somewhere that did gluten-free options. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The mushroom soup was delicious, I had mine with a cheese scone. We both then had the gluten-free orange and almond cake which was really good. Great decaf coffee as well.

Delicious home cooked food - the quiche and soup were both delicious. The scones were also the biggest we have ever seen in a cafe and we all enjoyed them! Despite it being a very busy Easter holiday lunch time, the whole experience was enjoyable, with friendly staff and excellent service. We would definitely return on our next holiday. First time in the place but it’s not going to be the last fantastic service and food and we would recommend to anyone in the area it’s on the main road in the town with on street parking close by and around five minutes from the rail way station.

Although oat milk was available for tea and coffee, unfortunately there was not one vegan option on the menu. Baked potato with beans and no butter or beans on toast with no butter was offered - but to be quite honest, people don't go out eat what they can easily make at home for themselves! Although there was only one vegan in our party the rest were very uncomfortable and will not be visiting again. However, on the plus side if you are not vegan, the coffee was awesome, the food was good and the service was excellent.

We had popped in for coffee the day before and decided then to have breakfast before we left this lovely town. We were not disappointed, full English which included our coffee and toast, freshly cooked and hot.

We went on Tuesday afternoon '6th' had lunch and then cream tea for two. I drink tea but my wife only drinks coffee and same goes for my brother in law and sister in law too. They have always given either tea or coffee with cream teas until this time.They didn't charge each couple the normal £7.95 for two but instead charged one couple at £7.95 and one couple at £11.00 as two people in the group drank coffee!!We was not informed at time they would be doing this as in the past 3 years we have been coming here this is first time they have overcharged in this way. The tea room around the corner only charges £4.50 for one person cream tea with cappuccino/latte so cheaper than £11.00 for two.We also didn't get informed at time that they would be charging extra for some cheese on chilli baked potato as the person taking order just said do you want cheese on top and I thought it must be part of it so said yes then discovered on paying that they charged extra for that too when they should really state that its an extra cost.So people beware of costing so you don't get an unexpected higher bill. As much as we like the cafe we was very disappointed that they did this underhanded tactic.

My girlfriend and I stopped here given it boasted real coffee. The chap serving was very pleasant and made us two really nice iced lattes! We each had a cake as well, both of which tasted homemade and were absolutely delicious! Very reasonably priced and highly recommended if you like coffee.

This cafe is welcoming , clean and an absolute pleasure to be in. A must is the full English Breakfast for £8 including a drink. There is a cute window seat that allows you to take your dog inside and enjoy your meal. The staff are so helpful and a delight. Well worth a visit

If there was one thing I missed in lockdown it was Cafe 46's quiche! It was worth the wait for Wales to open up! Beautifully served in a takeaway box with salad and delicious coleslaw! The bacon, brie and chilli jam panini was also amazing! Great staff too! Will be back next visit ☺

We visited the cafe on a v rare day out walking. We work long hours and like most people, have journeyed through some very difficult challenges over the past year. The cafe service was exemplary on all counts and ministered to us deeply through professional, obliging staff who took precious time to chat with us, and delicious home-made food. The cafe has a family friendly, welcoming ambience which invites natural friendship amongst fellow customers with whom we enjoyed valuable conversation. We came away feeling very grateful, enormously blessed and planning to return asap

Due to popularity we had to wait about 15 mins to get a seat but it was well worth it.Comfortable surroundings, cheerful staff and excellent homemade food. Quiche was delicious, pannini highly recommended. And don't leave without trying their cakes. And my wife says the best coffee she's had in a long time.

We've been coming to Criccieth for a number of years and have seen this place as the number one eatery on TA for so long but never had the chance to try it as they close at 5 and we are normally out and about sightseeing during the day. Anyway we got the chance to try it and wow yes we can see why its number one. Lovely food, great staff, all tables well spaced and everything set up so well for covid. Friendly staff. We have sandwiches and toasties, really nice and good portions, just a shame they don't do evenings as we would have definitely eaten there then

We found this on Tripadvisor as we were looking for someehere for lunch on a wet weekday. Its just over a quarter a mile from the beach and due to Covid restrictiosn we hd to wait a while for a table to become free. The shop offers a good selection of lunchtime options as well as cakes and desserts.We enjoyed a good slice of quiche followed by a delicious, and large, slice of cake. Staff were friendly and very hot on cleanliness/Covid rules.

We were looking for somewhere near to our guesthouse whilst waiting for our check in time.We only wanted Cake and Coffee/Hot chocolate.The cafe was very COVID aware and we heard the staff remind customers to sanitise their hands.The staff were very friendly and helpful,they even asked if we wanted to change our cake choice when two more became available.Our drinks and cakes were excellent in size and flavour.We also noted some local crafts for sale in the cafe which were lovely.We really enjoyed our visit and told the guest house owner in order that he could recommend it to other guests,however,he already knew it was a good place to eat and drink.

Visited this morning for breakfast and coffee. Excellent service. All staff clearly very hot on hygiene. Saw constant cleaning and good social distancing. Breakfast bap is huge. It’s a cooked breakfast in a roll. Good size mug of coffee, again good quality. I bought a piece of lemon meringue pie to take away. Delicious. If passing through make sure you pop in.

Great atmosphere, great food, great coffee/hot chocolate and great staff who are so helpful and friendly! We felt really safe and comfortable with their arrangements during this Covid season too. We come here whenever we are in the area and it never fails to disappoint.

Called in for a quick lunch, having been unable to eat at Portmeirion or Dylan’s, both of which were full.Panini and quiche were well prepared and well presented. Coffee was very good. Staff were welcoming and very pleasant. The whole place was scrupulously clean. Highly recommended for a light meal.

Outstanding! In every respect. Offered ice cold water on arrival because of the hot day. The home-made quiches were absolutely fabulous and the best we’ve ever tasted! The salad included home-made coleslaw which was delicious. The value for money here is very impressive and I cannot recommend the food, drink or service more highly!

Eat here with the family, had cream tea for two for £7.99 with a fabulous scone, and my daughter had coffee cake which was lovely. All are homemade cakes. The staff are warm and friendly with social distancing in place. Would highly recommend going here

Such a gem of a cafe. Plenty of space, comfy seating, delicious coffee. Beautifully, genuinely friendly, respectful staff. This was a highlight of our stay in Criccieth. I wonder if they would consider opening for wine and tapas a few evenings a week or BYO tapas offer. Criccieth needs a groovy alternative to the current dining/pub offer.

We visited No.46 on a very windy Saturday afternoon. There were 11 of us and so no mean feat to find a lunch to suit us all. A couple were occupying the large table at the back so they offered to take our number but luckily the couple were then ready to leave. The food was delicious and we tried the full range of soup (with cheese scone), BLT sandwiches, quiche, jacket potatoes and panini pizzas. The guys were so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed a game of cards whilst waiting. Lovely atmosphere

We arrived to find the cafe full, not surprising as it serves great food served by polite and considerate staff. We turned to leave, and a staff member told us that he was pleased to see us again, and that there was room at a large table, if we did not mind sharing with strangers. We took him up on his offer. The food and drink were excellent as always, and service was with a smile.Well worth the long drive to Cricieth.

Saw previous reviews, but did not go ourselves until our last day in Criccieth... Drat!! A friendly welcome and what a delicious cream tea. Large lovely scones, perfectly baked with super fruity jam and 2 pots of clotted cream... Wow! Great value too.... and comfy window seat chatting with a couple of friendly locals. Only regret was that we did not visit every day of our stay in Criccieth... the other menu options looked delicious too!Thanks for the friendly welcome and experience!

Had a lovely visit in Criccieth however our accommodation didn’t have coffee so this became our go to shop. Very friendly staff! Lovely food! Tasty coffee! And all for a reasonable price. One of my favourites! Will have to come back soon!

Stayed in Criccieth this week and this coffee shop was recommended by a local. There were 5 of us including 2 children. We found big tables to sit at with plenty of space around, a good basket of toys and books to occupy the boys, and wonderful cakes and tea-cakes all round. We liked it so much we went back again the next day! The staff were lovely and very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

What a find! Wonderful welcoming atmosphere and genuinely happy, smiley staff. One look at the quiches and we were sold. Then our eyes caught sight of their cakes and pies and we couldn't resist.

The selection of home made quiche and cakes is amazing. The staff are fantastic and I can assure you that whatever you choose to eat will be delicious. The portions are huge but you just couldn't leave any of the delicious food on your plate resulting in us needing a walk afterwards to get rid of a few calories haha

After a long days walking in Morfa Nefyn we returned to Criccieth and called in at No 46 for a well earned tea and scone.

We were told to take a seat and someone would be over, 10 minutes later I went over to the counter myself to order. I asked for 2 scones one with butter. I got 2 with butter and one serving of jam. Once I asked we quickly had clotted cream bought over. Staff could be a little more attentive.

Well yesterday was my 4th weekend in a row off visiting No46, it is my favourite cafe. First fell upon it on my birthday and since then my sister and bro in law have taken their son and his wife there when they visit from Dubai. You walk in always get a friendly greeting from the staff and wow the food is fantastic. I have had the quiche it is lovely and the home made soup which is served with a cheese scone not the bread roll which most places do which is so tasty. I always go for the egg custard but I did have the Victoria sponge one week and it was so fresh and light. My sister and bro in law like the lemon meringue and I can honestly say I have never seen such a high meringue topping - if you haven’t visited you should, we travel from Prestatyn and Holywell we have never being disappointed with the service and the food - well worth a visit

Great welcome from lovely staff . Tea and coffee very good. Had lunch too. Carrot and coriander soup well seasoned and very good flavour. Cheese scone was really tremendous (one of my very favourite foods - so high praise from me). Husband had the quiche and coleslaw with salad and said it was really good - and he's a tough customer to please. Who ever does the cooking is Very Good. Lovely friendly relaxing feel. Perfect.
