No. 19 in Northumberland

Just had a family festive meal here this evening-large mixed group. Third time we’ve been for a family get together. Tonight the food was lovely, the young staff were professional and very friendly. Couldn’t fault it.

We just have sampled the Festive Menu at No19. The food was really delicious and everything perfectly cooked. The service and staff were friendly and efficient really a great experience . Highly recommended !

I booked lunch at No 19 as a thank you for my son who had taken me on a lovely holiday and I wsh that I hadn't bothered. Even though there were many vacant tables in the area of the restaurant overlooking the golf course, we were placed at a dirty table which was covered with crumbs and liquid, black napkins and stained chairs, by the door in a cold draught and looking out onto the car park. Not what I had envisaged when I made the reservation. There was no welcome from the staff, no wine list with the menu and when we asked for it, were given a choice of six wines only. The £35 Chilean bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was awful. I wish we'd left then. The tables started to fill up and the noise levels rose. My son had a humous starter and roast beef for his main course, and I opted for the salmon as my main, no starter. The portions were small and my salmon smelt awful - even my son commented on it. Unfortunately, I suffered when we arrived home. We decided to cut our loses and didn't have dessert, but were still presented with a bill for £84.90. I spoke to the waitress and she advised that a lot of people were under the impression that they were going to a restaurant, but in fact, it's "just a club house", she advised, and golfers drinking were given the best tables. Apart from the fabulous setting, I can in no way recommend this restaurant nor the food and drink which were overpriced and of poor quality.

Lovely setting. Delicious roast - very tasty beef. It was just enough for me and meant I’d room for dessert but if you like big portions you might need to order the extra Yorkshires and cauliflower cheese. Friendly staff. I thought the tables and chairs/carpet could’ve been cleaner - crumbs which should’ve been hoovered up. That’s my only criticism. Nice treat for Sunday lunch in a pretty setting.

Haven't been here for over 10 years and I have to say nothing has changed...atmosphere very welcoming service was first class and the food was outstanding, highly recommended can't wait to go back for an evening meal

Spot on as usual booked a table on balcony looking over pond lovely food realy good staff we will be back again soon

Simply wonderful. Went for a quiet lunch, and was very impressed with the standard of the food and the service. Delicious pizza and tried the coffee panna cotta... amazing! Simple, understated interior, honest and welcoming service and good quality food. My new favourite place to eat.

Had a great golfing weekend with my wife, we had a meal in the no 19 restaurant on the Saturday night. The meal was excellent and the service was first class, we had Christina serving us and she was exceptional. Would definitely recommend 👌

Great quality food, stunning location and great service in a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. A new regular destination for us when we are in the area for sure

Nice food and ambience but when paying for your bill it's calculated with a waitress tip charge on that is shown to you as optional if you want to pay it which in all honesty I thinks it's really cheeky especially as it's put as a set rate and you can't choose how much you want to tip them and it's making people feel uncomfortable if they didn't actually want to leave a tip puts me off!!

Lovely venue and great service, the views were amazing across the golf course. The food was good value with decent size portions and a good selection of drinks at the bar. Sadly I had to knock a star off because they brought our main mid way through the starter, which isn't a huge thing but they made no effort to fix that and we overheard the manager complaining to our waiter. So if he thought it wasn't right then he should have made it right.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, superb meal, I had scotch egg and piccalilli, very nice indeed. Fillet steak done perfectly.

As always, top quality food at competitive prices and served by friendly, efficient staff in luxuriously comfortable surroundings. In warmer weather there is the option of al fresco dining on the balcony with great views over the beautiful Tyne Valley. Plenty of free parking too.

Love it, went for lunch, very nice Christmas Menu, usually go for breakfast which is also very good. Friendly efficient staff, nice atmosphere

Food was delicious and absolutely outstanding. Service was a little bit slow, and while the staff were wearing masks (great) nearly all of them had the mask under their nose to the point were that seemed like the uniform, which was real weird.

A return visit 11 Mar 2020 for lunch. Surroundings were pleasant, the fish and chips were over cooked and verged on chocolate brown in colour when served after a 30 minutes wait in a dining room that had no more than 4 tables occupied. The ladies in our party too were disappointed in their choice. The belly pork had rubbery crackling. This was made all the more unpleasant by the boorish noises from those watching horse racing from Cheltenham from the adjacent room. A lunch which should be best forgotten.

Great place enjoyed our time there, would go again.

Number 19 is within the Close House Golf complex. An upmarket venue with prices to reflect this. It is a superb location and the staff are friendly and attentive but be prepared to pay higher prices.

A most enjoyable visit the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful the colt course is especially challenging

My home from home, no seriously if you don't see me here at least twice a week send out a search party and bring me back! I'll take a Moretti shandy ! If you see me! The staff are delightful and friendly and the food amazing
