Absolutely awful, illegally refused entry for a legally registered Guide Dog due to "poor ventilation". If the ventilation is poor I wonder what else is poor. With a service like that I'd avoid the place at all costs. Reply to owner: No nobody said about any allergy. we were told it would be too messy and the hairs will get blown about because of poor ventilation. There was no mention about an allergy or hairs in a kitchen, we were just rudely and in a very unfriendly manner refused access.

Was in earlier on witnessed a lady be refused due to having a guide dog which illegal;It is illegal for any service provider to deny entry to someone with a disability because of any equipment they may need as a result of this disability. This applies whether the equipment takes the form of a wheelchair, cane or guide dog. Will definitely not be back !

Fantastic Service, couldnt have had a better time or welcome. food was amazing aswell, the only downside i havbe of this, is that i wont be able to go here more often.

First time visiting, the food was pretty darn good and the service was very good and fast. 10/10 would recommend. There was a situation at the entrance, a women with a dog tried to enter and shouting "its a service dog" without showing the credentials proving and the staff was very professional in dealing with the situation. As a tourist i find it sad that this types of situations happen and sometimes it can tarnish the rep of the place. This time the staff put the clients ahead of everything else. Overall, top scoring and i will be back for more beans!

Really enjoyed it here there’s a great selection on the menu. I had a chicken and spring onion omelette it was so tasty. Wish I lived closer to this place so I could try more of the menu.

Relaxed cafe vibe, clean, staff friendly, service 10/10 and food delish. We have been meaning to try this cafe since moving into the area and we are annoyed we left it this long. I had a well filled tuna & red onion panning with fries & coleslaw & the other half had himself the jumbo breakfast. I had a lovely mug of tea & rice crispy cake & the other half had a cappuccino & iced fruit slice. The service was professional, friendly and quick. Very affordable & we will most definitely be back to try other offerings 🍽️☕️❤️

One of the best all-day breakfasts you'll find anywhere!

Family business run by John. He always remembers his customers and what they order. John is polite and efficient. The menu is varied, (see attached photo from November 2023). The food quality is above average and varied. Prices are competitive. Premises seats about 30 people. It can get busy at lunchtime. However, you can phone and reserve a table. Toilets are always immaculate. There is parking outside. This premises is a hidden gem.

Found this cafe as I waited to collect my daughter from nearby. I can thoroughly recommend it. I only had a coffee and fruit slice, but they were the best I've had in a long time. Very pleasant waiter.

Typical local cafe usual offering but also Chinese dishes. Food looked good and staff were nice. Got the takeaway jumbo breakfast was nice but the square slice wasn't that nice.

Very friendly and John will accomodate your food choice. His Chinese dishes are really delicious. It is a family concern . Been going to Niu for years.

Been going since 2013. I think very good quality and prices spot on. Beats weatherspoons or Lee Palace any day of the week.

My husband and myself visited for lunch which is unusual for us both. Managed to get a window seat for a change and next to a heater too. John as always is so busy (he was making hot drinks) so we helped ourselves to menu's. So much to choose from and such good value. My husband challenged himself with the jumbo all day breakfast and I had the sweet chilli chicken panini with chips. We also had 2 white coffees (piping hot) to wash it down with. It was nice that the cafe wasn't too busy today at our new time.

Breakfast was cooked OK but when it says it comes with mushrooms as in plural, I kinda expected a few on my plate not just one cut into half and the chips were very greasy.

Went for a breakfast and it was excellent. Sat in and the guy serving was friendly and efficient. They serve food all day so we're going to go back for lunch at some point and maybe some dinner to take away.

Although not the most charming location, the service here is exceptional, the food lovingly prepared and the value superb. Really good proper coffee too! I'll be back if I'm ever this way again.

Amazing food good atmosphere good welcoming staff

This was my first time here today. Some how never seen it before 🤷. So I got the jumbo breakfast and a coffee. First of all the breakfast was just that jumbo and it was superb 👌. Very tasty breakfast indeed and the price ? £5.60 which I felt was very reasonable for the amount of food and quality. The coffee was also nice to wash it down with. The staff member who served me was very nice, polite and friendly. Highly recommend this lovely cafe. I will most definitely be back 👍 10/10

Spotless, friendly and inexpensive

I have been past this cafe several times but this time I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. The area inside was very clean and pleasant and the young man who served me was very respectful and attentive. I had the soup of the day and spicy chicken. Very tasty!! and was excellent for the money I will certainly visit there again.

Nit Cafe is an inexpensive, unpretentious local cafe selling good food and with great service. I believe the gentleman that seems to run the place may be the politest person on the planet. Recommended.

I am lucky enough to live right next to this wee gem so am a regular visitor! The service is always first class and super friendly. I often visit for breakfast, all cooked fresh and portions are generous. I've had cooked Scottish breakfast as well as pancakes and often get breakfast rolls to take away. Always tasty and really reasonably priced. I've also had a few takeaway lunches - rolls, cheeseburgers etc - as well as sitting in for dinner. I highly recommend the Singapore noodles! It's very clean and laid out nicely - not super modern or hip because it doesn't need to be. The food and the service speak for themselves! I always recommend it to anyone coming to Rutherglen. Other times I've met people who have already visited and are very envious that I live so close by! When I was looking to move to the area, one of the first things I discovered was the Niu Café and it's excellent reputation! Very well deserved in my experience.

Usually go in for Breakfast on a Saturday Lunchtime after a night in the pub, and highly recommended, traditional Scottish Breakfast Small or Large, very tasty and filling with all the traditional things you would expect and includes Toast and Hot / Cold Drink. And all at a good price....

What a wondeful hidden gem in the back streets of rutherglen, this tiny wee place is just behind the Lee Palace restaurant, superb breakfast, excellent service and soooo inexpensive, it's a must for everyone, also fully licenced.

Breakfast was great last week 450 brilliant this week I got scramble egg n toast for 350 tbf it looked lie 1 egg maybe it wasn't a dunno gutted

This place is the go to place for tasty sit in or takeaway food in rutherglen. Reasonable pricing and friend staff. Tasty spicy Asian noodles and curry’s are recommended as well as the Scottish or jumbo breakfast :)

I had the 3 course lunch chicken noodle soup with warm roll lovely then special fried rice nice very big portion then ginger bread to take away think it was £7.50

All of the food arrived cold! Toast cheese and beans was one slice of bread with barely a spoonful of beans and grated cheese that hadnt melted it was that cold! Lorne sausage tasted like perfume and was served cold also ! Carbonnarra with onion ? Never known this then the waiter argued with me about this even though i was still paying for it? Terrible cafe and service will not be back

This cafe is amazing. The menu has so much selection, and all of which I've tried have been great. The waiter was such a lovely man and made the experience a joy. I especially recommend the Japanese chicken curry - it was amazing Totally recommend to everyone.

Go here once or twice a week for lunch food is always really good and great staff that cant do enough for you.
