Amazing food. Been here over 20 times, best food in all over mumbles. The service is phenomenal and the wait staff delightful. The speed of service is minimal and zero wait for a table.

I had an absolutely amazing time at Nishimura, here's why: One of the reasons why I love it so much is because it feels authentic! The plates had beautiful designs on them and the food felt like it was straight from Japan! We had the Tokyo platter, salmon and tuna bento, octopus pancake balls, and the mochi ice cream for dessert! All the food was amazing quality and the sushi was the best I have ever eaten in my life. There even was a tiny little working umbrella on one of the mochi balls! We also got a bit of free candy on our way out, I think it was mochi too! The food was so good that it was one of the best meals of my life. I highly recommend going to Nishimura.

Absolutely stunning food! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was very nice, spacious. I live quite far and on motorbike too, but I'll be returning as much as I can! Got a free Ramune after the meal too!

My partner and I stopped in after pointing and saying ‘we should go there’ every time we drive by for the last couple weeks. Front of house staff were friendly and welcoming. Tables were nicely spaced apart, airy atmosphere with lovely crockery on the tables. We had a table booked for all you can eat at 8pm however when we got there we were told the kitchen closes at 9 so we didn’t quite get the 1.15hr we were promised but that didn’t bother us too much. Portions were generous and quality was great. In my opinion, better than other bigger sushi restaurants in Swansea. It would be great if host could ask if customers have visited before and explain how it works as we were left in the lurch a little bit to begin with and had to call her back over to ask. Manager was lovely and welcoming, we look forward to coming back again soon :)

Food is okay but the staff when not busy just stand around chatting and almost pay no attention. The toilets are the worst I have ever seen. No checks done and even the manager admitted they had not been done as busy. No excuse as the dirt in the toilets is months old. Also all cleaning products just left out for anybody to touch. No COSHH training obviously. Would never go back.

My wife and I visited here last night, we have previously only had takeaway and have always been happy with our food. We decided to try the all you can eat menu, but sadly were very disappointed with the food, but the main issue was that we had prawn skewers. There were 2 skewers, my wife had one skewer which appeared to be fine, but after eating the first prawn on the second skewer I knew it wasn't right, my wife tried another and agreed. Luckily she didn't swallow hers and spat it into a tissue. I informed the waitress and she apologised, but unfortunately I have been really unwell all day today with diarrhoea and vomiting. The other food we had was also disappointing and not up to the standard we have received previously. Our plan was to have a few courses of sushi, and my wife wanted to try the crab salad, but after the prawns we were reluctant to try anymore shellfish, and ended up eating dishes we woukd not usually have chosen. The service was good and everyone was friendly and polite, but to be completely honest we were disappointed with paying for our food, and obviously especially after me now being so unwell. We sadly won't be going back

Ordered online from the uplands restaurant and was really disappointed. Made a large order (around £90) and the only thing I enjoyed eating were the mixed pickles. The majority of the sushi we ordered was flavourless and chewy and the fried items were equally as bad. I've never had such bland gyoza and katsu before... The beef in the bento box was the best item but even that was middle of the road at best. I've eaten a lot of different sushi at a lot of different restaurants. This was one of the worst experience I've ever had and is definitely not worth the price at all.

Was a nice night, definitely recommend. Had the all you can eat. It says not to order next round until nearly finished the round your on. We prefered ordering after as to have a little break in between. You have a time limit but no rush. They did however take there time coming back to us after our 2nd round 🤣 only downside really was that the atmosphere... didn't really feel the culture that much compared to lil Tokyo where we go in Yorkshire

Though I am not adventurous and only ever have the Katsu curry here, it is by far the nicest Katsu curry I have ever had and a lovely place to eat. Highly recommend!

I’m not sure what’s happened to Nishimura but the standard in food has dropped considerably since moving to Mumbles. Served cold Katsu Curry with the curry sauce quite watery. Karaage which is clearly frozen and £7 for 5 small bits. You definitely used to make this yourselves in the old location. Ramen which had absolutely no flavour and was just bland. I’m not sure if the chefs have changed recently but such a disappointment as the old location really tasted authentic.

23/11/2024.. dine in. while enjoying the food on a buffer, staff just flood the our table with bloody water.. lost my appetite. even my 6year old daughter lost her appetite with the incident.. and the restaurant bill us out full price.. what a shame!!! been a fan with this restaurant when they started small with just a long table and now sadly i will not come back anymore..

Last time I had food here, it wasn't good, but I gave it another go and it has improved immensely.

Came here for the buffet with friends on a Tuesday. Staff were great and welcoming but questioned if they could facilitate us. We were sat down and assured it would be fine. We were there a total of 2.5hrs and were served once, which we waiting half an hour. After an hours wait to be seen again, we called a waiter over, gave our order and was told they had run out of rice, then continued to wait a further 45minutes for our food. By this time we had lost our patience, complained, paid and left. It was a real shame because the food that was brought to us was great tasting and high quality. Poorly managed night, we would’ve preferred to have been turned away respectfully if they were struggling with capacity and stock

Striking looks from outside drove us in. Very quite an elegant from the inside. Soft jazz music vibe. Menu office quite extensive choices. We need a couple of quick picks (chicken katsu, ramen). The food was simply cooked but of good portions. Perfectly fine for quick dinner.

The owner is lovely and I can see he has put a lot of effort into his business. The atmosphere is chilled, service is great and so is the food.

Bad vibes and patronising staff. Visited with some mates recently and was disappointed by the staff. They seem depressed and have a bad vibe. A party of 4 we all ordered and my 3 friends food came out a long time after mine. I preempted the thought of just watching them eat and asked the waiter if I could place another small order to be brought out at the same time as my friend’s food. He said he was too busy to take my order and would send someone else over. He then dissapeared behind the bar doing nothing of any consequence. Nobody came to take my additional order for a while. My friends food arrived and my extra order came out around 25 mins after they finished eating. Also one of my friends orders was wrong. Just a disaster. You will find the food comes out at completely different times - so get used to watching people eat and being watched eating!😄 The staff are not attentive, have a bad vibe and seem as miserable as they look. The girl processing our bill was really condescending and patronising.

The ONLY sushi good restaurant in Swansea (aside from their sister restaurant in Mumbles). Manager Catherine and her staff, Olivia, Madeira and Seren, plus the incredible kitchen staff, make this place feel like you are in downtown Manhattan or Tokyo. The entire experience is geared to, and delivers at, a level so far above the norm that you can't wait to come back for another visit. Once you've eaten here everything else is an also ran!

I took my family here for a meal and was so upset by the attitude of the woman with long blonde hair at the counter. She obviously hates her job and was so rude and abrupt when we arrived and when we paid at the end. I can’t believe the owners of this restaurant can risk losing customers with her at the counter. The food was ok but the whole experience was ruined with such a disrespectful and rude woman on the counter. Never will I go again . I received a reply from the restaurant stating that the “OLD LADY” apologised ! I am not an old lady, and I certainly did NOT apologise. She kept telling me to put my card into the card reader and the reader was saying take card out and swipe . We all could see she was angry, saying loudly, “You keep taking the card out!! You are going to break my machine “. I felt she was totally over reacting and treating us like children. How dare she! Never never will go there again.

RUDE RUDE RUDE staff. Terrible customer service. Rude beyond belief. Attended with family and the woman behind bar treated my 80 year old mother awfully when paying the bill. My mum struggled to put her card in to the machine to pay and accidentally put her card in backwards and then fumbled and dropped the machine on the counter. The card machine asked us to swipe the card so I asked the lady how do we do that and was not empathetic at all. She rudely said that my mum could have broken the card machine and shouldn’t have inserted the card into the machine three times (all of which was incorrect and an exaggeration). I told the woman to calm down with her behaviour towards my mum who is partially deaf and couldn’t hear what was going on. Disgusting behaviour - should never be in a customer service role. And in response to the owners comments that she is an ‘excellent duty manager’ - about time you start listening to your customers. I can see it’s not the first time her behaviour has been commented on. Tripadvisor and Facebook all mention a ‘rude waitress’ who speaks down to people as if she is a teacher telling naughty children off. Clearly repeated behaviour which is being allowed to continue. This is not how people should be treated when they go out for some much needed quality time with their family. I never can be bothered to leave reviews - good or bad - but her behaviour was so rude towards my mother I felt compelled to do so!

I've eaten in quite a few sushi restaurants in London and gotta say that Nishimura is up there with the better ones. The presentation of the food is beautiful and all the dishes were fresh and very tasty. To top it off, the staff were lovely and friendly. I will definitely be eating here again. Nishimura is an absolute gem; amazing food in a humble restaurant.

All around best food. We got the beef yakisoba, crab hand roll, the spicy salmon roll, unagi nigiri, and miso soup. Everything was fantastic!

The decor and casual, relaxed vibe is 100% authentic and we love it here. I come back to Mumbles quite regularly and try to visit every time - always book at weekends - can usually walk in mid week. Very, very friendly team and owner - superb food reasonably priced. Delicious - you may not have eaten Japanese before but definitely try it. My elderly Mum had to be convinced to try it and absolutely loved it too. 😘

Been coming to Nishimura for years, and have to say it never disappoints. Realised they changed their location and upgraded into a lovely looking building near the Beach in mumbles and had to come again! The food is always delicious, the staff are very friendly and polite, and the restaurant itself is beautiful and clean. Highly recommend to anybody looking to try Japanese food in Swansea! This is the place to go. 10/10

Found fish bone in salmon sashimi at the most expensive bento, tempura batter mix is too thick and not fried through, the aburi dragon roll is not delicious as before, spent about £52 for two people tbh it doesn’t worth :( table nr 5 at uplands restaurant on 18th June

Surprise find. We are very fond of Japanese food and must say that this ticks our box. Venue is clean, tidy ,light and altogether very nice. Staff excellent. Would highly recommend .

Prawns Bento was ok value for the meal but part of TenDon dish was uncooked with the lotus root tempura while bite it half can see the colour difference and tempura wasn’t that good but not the worst I have eaten, the dipping sauce for the tempura quite sweet and a nice touch with beaten eggs mix in the sauce and I appreciate each ingredient separating instead of plating it together with a nice touch. Still could improve more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

Normally enjoy going here for food and service has always been great before but tonight we where greeted with rudeness and attitude by a young female who as we walked in had a confrontation about us parking outside the front door and tried to scare us to say the police or traffic wardens come all the time and will fine you’ which was a bit full on to be honest, I asked if they had an issue with me parking outside and said I would move if so and they just tried to use fear and scare us instead. Scared my 13 year old daughter and made her feel uncomfortable. As we were sat and ordered the female was telling our waitress to hurry up and take our order in an attempt to rush us out as if we weren’t welcome. The waitress came and asked us are we ready to order 3 times within 5 minutes after sitting down. When we asked for the bill, the confrontational female forgot and made us wait. When we went to pay at the till we asked to take the service charge off due to the rudeness of the female staff member. They told us we couldn’t pay in cash and weren’t made aware at the beginning and no signage. They agreed to accept cash eventually but said they couldn’t give us any change due to the bill being £64 and I had £70 in cash. And they wouldn’t let us pay £60 cash and the remaining £4 on card so we wouldn’t be left short without change. Which they eventually did. It was all a bit childish and petty and trying to make things awaked and being funny the entire stay and made to feel unwelcome for parking outside and lied at the end to deceive us saying we couldn’t pay cash and card in order to not lose change was a bit ridiculous. Won’t be back after this.

TO ALL MUSLIMS! Please be aware before making an order and giving them your money. I got a phone call that my food was made and there was cross contamination eventhough I specified Halal diet. Then I requested cancellation and a refund but got signed posted here and there and then was told someone will contact me with further details. To only find they blocked my number and still delivered the cross contaminated food. I have ordered here before but never found the service to be this bad and to be blocked. This experience made me feel really degrading and under valued. So don't recommend to fellow MUSLIMS.

Food is ok. No where near authentic Japanese but probably catered to local taste. The owner is very friendly and cares a lot about the experience but I would suggest working on getting a good sushi/ramen chef first and foremost. The noodles were over cooked and the ramen broth was bland. Tuna sushi was tuna and mayonnaise in a sushi roll and not the expected raw tuna. Ambiance could be improved to match a Japanese style. It's a little bare to be honest. Service was quick and correct.
