Takumi Sushi & Noodle Bar in Swansea

The staff were lovely, the portions were small but overall it was a nice place to eat.

We regularly dine at this restaurant and have yet to come away disappointed! There are a few new sushi restaurants popping up around swansea but takumi is still by far the best we have eaten at, it is also very reasonably priced. My wife always has a selection of raw salmon and being vegan I tend to opt for the tempura bento box but there is a wide selection available to suit all pallets! Tonights waitress made such a lovely fuss of the children and made us all very welcome, no complaints whatsoever, we look forward to dining with you again.

Great environment and service but food only averge. Deep fried pork is too thin and dry. Ramen and Udon are hot but too soft. Tempura don and Salman sushi are nice.

First visit today, really nice place with great table service. Food was great! Really enjoyed it, quick to serve once ordered, recommended as a must try in this area!

Another great visit! Myself and my friends love this place, the ramen bowls are great with huge portions and are always delicious. The sushi is great too, especially the salmon belly nigiri. This is a much better value and more authentic option to Wagamama’s in the city centre. The only suggestion I have for improvement is the drinks are a little overpriced, £3.50 for a pint of Diet Coke is too much. Pictured ramen bowl is the curry beef udon.

The noodles are good and there are a lot of vegetables. Fresh too. Don’t order the salmon roe rice bowl, it’s a joke. I asked the waiter if there was so little salmon? Answer yes. The few thin slices looked completely different from the photos on the menu. It's so deceptive, I don't know why I can't do business properly.

Not much to choose from and quite expensive for what it was however they do give you free miso soup which was nice

Went to pick up our takeaway order, brought it back home after nearly 30 mins of travelling, only to be presented by a less than average meal. Bland, watery and certainly not fresh. Have been a regular customer for ages too. Last chef must've left. Won't be going back.

Standards have decreased in the last month or so. The yaki niku was watery and bland. The cucumber rolls didn't taste fresh. Purchased 24th April 7pm.

Went for food with my partner on a Saturday night was pretty busy and most people had bookings they managed to fit us in which was great! Food was amazing best ive had in a very long time would highly recommend. The flavours were great every bite was like a whole new experience :) will definitely be back again and again.

Lovely restaurant, very friendly staff. The food was amazing! All made fresh, sushi rolled behind the counter to order and the chicken udon noodles and gyozas you could see being cooked!! Well worth the 20 minute walk from the centre of town ! Mochi and friend mango for pudding amazing!! Definitely would go again!!

Ordered takeaway sushi it was very basic and didn't expect it to be so simple. Normally anywhere we order rainbow it tastes different and more flavour but it was okay.

Well prepared, traditional sushi and sashimi options with some newer fusion selections to choose from. The rainbow sashimi was brilliant and tastes very fresh which is impressive, the staff were very helpful and despite it being a smaller establishment you don't feel forced out of your table.

I love this place and always order because of the thoughtfulness that goes into everything, from food presentation and quality to the service staff. Also love the fact when you order delivery they send you their own staff drivers, that is a huge plus since I've had bad experiences with third party drivers steal the food when it's expensive. So I salut you for that, keep up the great service 👍 many thanks.

Excellent food and very attentive staff, really enjoyed. Had the deep fried seafood bento which was nice and my wife went for the eel which she enjoyed. Definitely try the mango fritter dessert - doesn't sound that nice but the light frying and bit of honey made it really good.

Prawns tempura was appalling , had no flavour , no salt/seasoning , was basically just uncooked batter not to mention half of it wasn’t even PRAWN THEY USED ONIONS AND BETTERED AND SERVED IT AS IF IT WAS REAL FISH! ALL OF THAT FOR THE STEEP PRICE OF 7£ in this economy ! Shambolic ! Do not go here

Best Japanese food I’ve had. When looking for Japanese food in Swansea most people choose Wagamamas, but this place is a million times better and it’s such a shame not as many people know about it. We had soft shell crab to share which was the best I’ve ever tasted. My boyfriend has yaki udon which he loved and I had the spicy chicken ramen which came in a huge portion and was so tasty. The staff are so sweet and really take pride in there work.

Wonderful dinner here with my daughter. The service was so friendly and attentive. I sipped a delicious plum wine while waiting for the food. We ordered a sashimi bento box for daughter and a salmon teriyaki bento box for me, plus spider (soft crab) rolls to share. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back for more!

Soooooo good. They were fully booked but I was desperate to get in for my birthday the staff were so helpful and found space for us. The food did not disappoint! Also I hate Zinfandel wine but there rose wine was a lovely and pale 🤩

When we opened our sushi box there was a dark piece of hair on one of the pieces of sushi. We were put off eating any more of the order despite spending over £65 on it. When I contacted the restaurant the customer service was non existent. I asked to speak to the owner, only to be told that it would be a couple of days before she could speak to me! I was the told that the hair was mine! Was told they would not refund me as we could have eaten the rest of the order! Will never order food from there again!

First time having a Japanese takeaway in Swansea. Would I return? Yes however, I think it would be a for sit in meal rather than a takeaway as I reckon you'd get more for your money. We ordered through Just Eat and collected in 30 minutes which was great. Food looked and smelled absolutely amazing. My only real complaint though would be that there could be abit more for the price, especially with the Duck Donburi ... the duck was very thin and looked like a lot but really it wasn't. This was a very tasty meal and will definitely be returning! I think this would have been a 5 star if there was alittle more duck.

Great place for lunch. The sushi platter and tempuras were good (particularly the mango selection sushi) while the unagi hand roll was delicious. The staff was amiable and on time, great service. Great hidden gem in Swansea, I recommend this.

Visited this restaurant for first time last night. When we walked in the place was empty within 5 minutes it was packed 😳which just goes to show what the food is like. We had a lovely meal staff very pleasant will definitely return. Tip: book before going there

A whole gluten free menu which is life changing and it’s proper authentic sushi - lovely lovely service too and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Won’t be the last time.

Quick and attentive staff. No frills and a bit on the pricier end of the scale however the quality of the fish is good and the hot food was also nice.

Clean restaurant. Very efficient in serving. Good ambiance. Visited on weekday aflt offpeak. Nice staff. 3 stars cause the sushi was disappointing rather average. We ordered 4 different varieties and everything tasted the same....nevertheless Wasabi was genuine and intense.

We love this place! We’ve gone here regularly for nearly 2 years the food is amazing, always perfectly fresh, well presented and consistently excellent. Service is also excellent and can’t fault anything about the restaurant the food or the staff. I highly recommend Takumi.

Extremely over priced, quality was not good, after living in Japan for numerous years this was utterly disappointing!

Had dinner at this place on my very first night in Swansea upon recommendation by a friend of mine who always gets a delivery order almost once a week. It was nice to finally being served sushi which wasn't overly stuffed with rice, and the quality of the fish was outstanding! I made the mistake of misjudging how big the pork curry katsu was but it was too good to be left there. A wonderful eating experience in a very friendly environment. Totally recommend!

Prefer the sushi here rather than nishimura (I think the regular chefs are off)

After being unable to come here for over a year, its great to be able to get a quality meal at last. Wonderful sushi, beef udon noodles, tempura prawns and bento box. And very reasonably priced.

I'm sorry I was really excited to try this place but I won't be going back. The green tea was served cold. Not even in a teapot not traditional. The wakame salad was nice. The tuna nigiri was tiny. I have been to top end sushi restaurants in Cambridge and that was made especially small for cost cutting purposes. The chicken katsu, the chicken and rice was nice but the katsu curry tasted like gravy. Also the lady at the till was having a heavy discussion with her colleague unaware that one of her customers is learning Mandarin. Sorry 😞 2 or 3 out of 5 for me.

Interesting place. The only thing that bothered me was too quick service - meals were served practically at the same time! The waiting time is not long even though the kitchen also prepares takeaways. Ramen and sushi are delicious! It's worth it!

It's great honestly, food tastes great, the interior is pretty. Been here enough that the staff do know what I'd normally get. Can't really fault them the spider maki is what I'd recommend anyone for sushi.

Didn't expect much and... Received one of the Best Japanese Cuisine Experiences ever! Unbelievably tasty and fresh Hosomaki I Futo maki and delicious Ramen 😻😻 Comes together with good selection of drinks, the lowest prices of Japanese food in City and top class service! Just want to say a big thank you to all at Takumi for our lovely food that we had yesterday (Saturday 29th Jan). There were 5 of us in all (two small children, two teenagers and myself) we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and our take outs later. Staff were very friendly and attentive to our wants and there was no wait for our meals. Would highly recommend Takumi in Swansea and we hope to visit again. I love Japanese food, (ramen, bento box, sushi 👌) but the food at this place really disappointed, so my first and last time here. I tried the seafood ramen and I ended up with almost very little seafood topping and a super mild unflavoured soup base. But good luck to them either way.

Fantastic food! The sushi was so well made and the tempura was perfect. Excellent menu choice too. We usually go to the other sushi place very near by but this is my new favourite. :) Staff were very attentive and friendly. Also the restaurant is spotlessly clean.

Decent sushi, nice decor inside not sure how authentic it is but it tastes good. On par with nishimura if not slightly better.

I’ve eaten here a few times and it’s been good. I ordered a bento salmon teriyaki box and it was dreadful. The salad was old and the teriyaki sauce got mixed in with it, the rice was not fresh and the salmon teriyaki was dry with no taste. Really poor for for the money!

Had the house bento which is a platter of mixed dishes and ika tempura. It's pricey, but it's tasty and you'll be guaranteed to be full after this.

The best sushi I've eaten for a long time! Friendly and professional service

To start with the name is a bit misleading.it's much more than a sushi and noodle bar. Takumi is a proper Japanese restaurant. Our friends who live in Swansea come here often. We came for the first time last year. Then it had been rather a rushed meal as they had fitted us in despite being fully booked. This time was more relaxed and we were able to chat to the lovely owner. I had a sushi starter and then chicken katsu curry, a favourite of mine. Huge portion and great value. The others had their 'boxes' which is little of a variety of dishes. Apart from one ice cream from Joe's next door all the others are unusual; I had lychee ice cream which was delicious but not actually on the menu. They are lovely people, the illustrated menu is easy to navigate and they deserve to be higher up the charts.
