We had a lovely 6 course tasting menu. The cooking is top drawer with a setting to match. Lunch is better IMO because you'll get the view. Kirsty at the front of house was particularly welcoming. A wonderful treat.

Beautiful ingredients cooked to perfection. Wonderful service and of course stunning location. We had a fantastic 3 course lunch. Just one tiny niggle - I had Partridge followed by a Monkfish dish. Both dishes had the most beautiful sauces but not quite enough to 'mop' it up.

Simple beautiful. Food was delicious, staff are attentive and helpful. We loved the whole experience We chose the lunch menu, opting for the sea trout, deer and chocolate tart. Lovely beach location by the side of Oxwich Bay, service staff were friendly enough albeit our mains took quite a long time to arrive. Nice food served however, without the WoW factor fine dining experience. One of only half dozen Michelin * restaurants in Wales.

The evening started really well with a great welcome at a fabulous location looking over a beautiful beach. Our dietary requirements were carefully checked (and observed). With the pre-prandial drinks came delicious amuse bouche and then we were led to our table, again with a great view of the beach and the kitchen. Another exquisite hors d'oeuvre arrived and then we were into our 3 course experience. Each was delicious - I had duck liver, cod and Welsh cheese selection. A list of the cheeses was provided. Service was superb. A party occupied a private room but had no effect on our service.

Everything was amazing, the location, the food, the service, BUT: Parking was very, very expensive, GBP 100,-!!!!!! We parked in front of the restaurent, but nobody from the restaurant staff told us upon arrival that we have to register our license plate to avoid a parking fine!! A very bad and expensive experience, so never again Oxwich Beach House!!

Very disappointed to refused being able to dine at beach house having made an online reservation as we have a toddler. No explanation given other than being told this is policy then had the phone put down on me when I questioned it. The website doesn't say that children under 6 are not permitted but this is clearly the intention from the owners. Could possibly understand if this was a policy for an evening sitting, but can't get my head around this for a lunchtime sitting on a non weekend day. Shame as we enjoyed a very good meal there a few years ago and was looking forward to visiting again with our little one. We have enjoyed fine dining experiences with our toddler at other restaurants overlooking the sea many times. Can't say I would recommend it as a result unfortunately. Parents and families beware!

Stumbled on this place by pure chance as we were staying at a nearby campsite. A fellow camper mentioned they were staying at the campsite in order to go for dinner at the restaurant. As foodies our interest was piqued so we popped along during the day to have a look at the menu and to reserve our table for lunch the next day. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed every mouthful. Thoughtfully presented and appropriately sized portions. We both had the lunch menu; my partner also went for the accompanying wine flight. And we shared an additional cheese course. Every course had Welsh ingredients and was sublime. The cheeses were mouthwatering. Definitely recommend this lovely Welsh gem 💎

It is a fantastic location with great service and food . We opted for the 3 course lunch , I had the lobster followed by the lamb with gower strawberries to finish . All beautifully presented and, more importantly, tasted fantastic. The downside for us is that one of us had to drive, so only a glass of wine . Could have spent the afternoon on decking with a bottle of wine enjoying the view! Well worth a trip.

Wow I hadn’t been back to this place since it’s been renovated so it’s been a few years. It was always high end, beautiful food and location restaurant. But when we went to visit on a Wednesday we were sat at the back of the restaurant with limited views out to the sea which is a shame. The food was steep at £92 per head. Which is OK for good food, but worth noting it’s a huge increase on previous menus. Our family of 5 used to eat there for around £300 and now that is the price for 2 after drinks and a service charge of 10%. I was shocked at the end when I realised my 3 cocktails and two beers added an extra £100 onto the bill. The beers from bottle being £10 is very steep and the cocktails were basic and limited, so to pay £20 per cocktail plus service charge is extremely steep. Unfortunately this made the experience feel like a bit of a rip off. Charge for good food fine but extortionate amounts for beer that’s otherwise £1.80 feels a bit desperate.

We had a fantastic meal! Excellent food, setting, service, you name it it was spot on. I especially thought some of the sea food dishes were out of this world. The setting really is excellent with beautiful views of the bay. We were there on a foggy, wet day but that just made it more cosy and atmospheric. I can't wait to come back, hopefully with some friends in tow so they can enjoy it too.

Had read a lot of good things about the Beach House, enhanced by its website and all those snaps of the shed at sundown. And the setting is superb when you get there too (especially on a warm day which means you can drink or eat outside and feel as if you're hovering just above the beach.) The menus themselves are nice and simply laid out and allow a good feel for the food to come. The amuse bouche was amazing, and the trout starter wasn't far behind (never mind a glass of wine, I'll just have a carafe of the eel sauce.) But the 'main event' was not the main attraction - the cod came in a silky smooth sauce but felt slightly lacking in flavour given the sea view and the restaurant's title. Perhaps it was just on the day - more pepper? A bit more salt? The Souffle packs a taste punch to the cheeks though. Coffee, too, was pretty damn good. Thanks for the memory, BH, but couldn't help feeling that bigger flavours in (& a slightly bigger portion of) the cod dish would have matched the view and vibe.

Stunning 8 course tasting menu, really interesting food combinations. However, we chose the more expensive 'Distinguished' wine pairing on offer. Being enthusiastic wine collectors we had high hopes. Sadly, we found that the pairing options with two exceptions were poor, and felt that we were being palmed off with low cost wines ( Even by Michelin restaurant prices) . I did send the restaurant private feedback, but disappointingly they did not respond!! In conclusion, great food but chose your own wine.

Had several great meals here, but this I think was the best yet. We went for the 6 course tasting menu. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. The service also was excellent; super efficient, yet friendly and informal. A very good balance of dishes throughout the courses. My favourite savoury dish was the sea trout. It looked too good to eat, but so glad I did as the textures and tastes were divine. The rhubarb dessert looked like something from another planet: so striking and imaginative (see photo). a real culinary adventure of surprises, flavours, textures and temperatures.

Re visited after two years, I was extremely disappointed by this experience. It’s very overpriced we had 8 course taster and beef course served luke warm. Service was dreadful no consistency with staff the waiting between courses was uncomfortably too long staff did not gel as a team. Food average but again overpriced I would not return. I spoke to the manager on paying the bill relating the above she did give me ten percent off the bill as a gesture of good will . However this did not compensate for the long drawn out evening of poor service.

The staff were very pleasant and well trained to give you the experience you’d expect. The setting was out of this world looking out the window was something you’d expect on a postcard. An underwhelming fine dining experience. The eight course tasting menu had two knockout dishes and six underwhelming-to-mediocre offerings. Nothing was cooked badly, but felt a few of the dishes weren’t up to the standards its Michelin star usually signals. The cured trout in chive sauce and bara brith souffle were truly excellent so there’s quality to be had here, but not consistently across the menu on this occasion. Service was fine and very happy to see Welsh given prominence on the menu

This was an excellent experience. My wife and I have visited a number of restaurants over the years with accolades that the Beach House has and we really enjoyed the ambience, laid back atmosphere but attention to customer service. I am surprised to read other reviewers have not had good service - maybe bad luck? We had the 8 course taster. Everything apart from the duck dish was a smash hit from both of us - but to be fair even after 50 years I cannot be convinced by liver somehow. We would love to return again; maybe with some friends and would leave the car at home to take on the wine tasting too. The cheese board looked to die for but we should gone 6-courses rather than 8 to fit that in :-) Congrats to the whole team at the Beach House for creating a great experience at decent value for money for this calibre of meal.

Booked this place well in advance, We knew it was tasting menu only on offer . Having had similar experiences in other parts of the UK we were looking forward to it. We should have read the warning signs when we entered the restaurant and seemed to be seated in the only table for 2 sandwiched between a part of 6 and another couple despite loads of couple tables still available. As the evening wore on the table of 6 arrived snd got more and more rowdy and became very intrusive on what should be a very carefully choreographed evening and ‘fine’ dining Eventually we asked who the manager was and it it was the lady we happened to ask! She offered to move is to another vacated table for the last course Before we paid the bill we asked to speak to the manager again to express our dissatisfaction. She had not come back to check on us. With some persuasion she took 10% off the bill Overall we were surprised given the quality of food and service this was allowed to happen. What should have been a very special evening left a very bad taste. I don’t really think the manager lady ‘got it’ which is shocking for this proposed calibre of restaurant.

Reasonable food let down by very uneven service. We arrived on time and seated but then had to wait a significant period to order drinks and to order food. Dishes from the tasting menu arrived in a very uneven rate. There appeared to be some kind of challenge with the kitchen but we weren’t informed what nor did we receive an apology. The wait continued for the bill. We noticed how other customers seemed exasperated - with one person saying loudly “we’ve been waiting an age” as we left. Dishes ranged. Some exquisite but others over salted or lacking in flavour. Service too - some of the staff are perfect, others over familiar with at least one addressing us as “guys” (a pet hate). Wine by glass selection was disappointing. It’s a shame. It’s a beautiful beach and a worthy ambition but needs a lot more finesse.

This was our first time at the Beach House for my mother's 81st birthday. We booked for lunch and had the most incredible experience from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The Beach House team is outstanding. They are completely professional and discreet whilst being warm and charming. They ran our meal like clockwork and when there was a slight delay at the end with our dessert there was an apology and we were provided with a complimentary 'pre-dessert' (one of the most delicious desserts we've ever eaten) and coffees. The ambience is wonderful as is the view of Oxwich Bay. This alone would have made the event special but the food made the occasion outstanding. We were overwhelmed by the quality of the ingredients, the imagination and creativity of the dishes and how sublime each course was. We loved the two additional chef's dishes. Cucumber is possibly my least favourite food item and yet when I tried the cucumber macaron it was delicious - testimony to the chef's incredible skill. A huge thanks to the team for making our experience so special and we look forward to returning again this year

Want a culinary experience? The Beach House is that and much more. The staff are exceptional, friendly, courteous, discreet and know about the food and the wine. You can see the chefs cook in the open kitchen. Never have I seen a harassed chef or heard any words. The kitchen seems to run so smoothly. Very impressive. The food is in my opinion to die for: every dish has exquisite individual ingredients which on their own are wonderful and then begins the journey of combining the different flavours and new experiences with every bite, enhancing flavours, changing flavours, it is my favourite restaurant even only thinking about that. The setting is magical too. Here you are looking out over Oxwich Bay, its blues, greens, greys changing as you enjoy your meal. It is a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience. I mustn’t forget to mention the beauty of each plate as it arrives in front of you. What an experience! Not to forget their fantastic bread with seaweed. That in itself is an experience. Just a joyful experience from every angle. The food is exciting but satisfying - there’s a fair amount of sophistication but underpinned by great quality and substance. The staff are all charming and enthusiastic AND they are nearly all the same people who served us 12 months ago - that tells me a significant amount about the quality of the management. There is a real sense of teamwork here - if you’ve watched The Bear on Disney Plus you’ll know what I mean! It is good value but it is a huge treat - something well worth saving up for in my opinion. We stay in a mobile home behind the nearby hotel (which is great) but treat ourselves here.

This experience was a real letdown as we booked a hotel and traveled a fair distance specifically to go to the restaurant, as we'd been gifted a tasting menu experience for my partner's birthday. A few positives are definitely the location and the interior; it's quite literally on the beach and has a cozy but elegant feel. There was a nice atmosphere for a weekday as they were quite busy. The wine list is on the smaller side; however, we enjoyed the bottle we chose. We arrived at 7:15 pm, where we received a warm welcome, and the staff were generally very polite. Despite this, service was really the big issue here. I can only assume we were forgotten about after ordering cocktails, as we waited 30-40 minutes for someone to take our food order. I saw 2 tables arrive at least 10 minutes after us have their order taken and start to see dishes arriving before anyone gave us a second look. Unacceptable anywhere but really unexpected from a Michelin restaurant. Other service issues throughout the meal included empty dishes being left on the table, not wiping the table down between courses, and not topping up water, etc. Cocktails were horrendous and tasted nearly only of lemon juice (ordered the Nutty Cow, which was a black cocktail that didn't look particularly appetizing). The wrong water was brought to the table (not a big issue but another example of errors occurring on the service front). Some dishes were average, nothing to shout home about but not bad; the canapés, the artichoke, the sole, and the pork. Sadly, service continued to be unacceptably slow. I did a time check after course 2/8 and saw we had been there for 1 hour and 40 minutes; no wonder we were hungry. Course 2 was trout, which was painfully overcooked, as well as sitting in a rather uncreative creamy sauce that completely overpowered the fish; a shame for a restaurant on the coast to go so wrong on its seafood. The meat dishes were very nice; however, by the 3-hour mark, it was hard to be enthusiastic about the whole experience as I was more than a bit fed up. The standout dish of the evening was most certainly their bara brith soufflé, which tasted delicious, looked the part, and I appreciated the nod to a Welsh classic. The tea ice cream on the side could have had better flavor, but overall, it was their best dish without a doubt. We finished the night off with a cappuccino that was actually a latte and paid up. In total, the whole experience was nearly 4 hours long! The longest meal of my life despite being several courses shorter than my longest tasting menu experience. Even their own staff made it out the door before us at 11 pm. There is no doubt that for fine dining, service is as important as the food, and easily avoidable mistakes were made throughout this experience. There was no consistency regarding who was serving us, and there seemed to be a big difference in service standards between tables. I can confidently say I won't be returning, but I hope they are able to iron out these issues so that the dining experience matches its wonderful look and location.

Our culinary short trip to Wales culmnated here and have to say the whle thing went from the pretty good to very, very good to a real bench setter. It is absolutely no wonder that this is Michelin star. From entrance to departure everything was absolutely perfect as surely it must be to get people to regularly make the effort to get there on a blowy dull winter December day!!! My goodness it was worth it. , Everything from design, decor, service, atmosphere, staff, menu content and descrition, presentation, cleanliness, comfort, views was all stunning. I am not going to elaborate on the mocktails or the food that we had as can only say, to quote the late great Michael Winner, it was HISTORIC! Many thanks to all involved in creating such a place in such a venue and doing it more than justice!

This was one of the most amazing evenings I have ever had. We had the tasting menu accompanied by the wine flight. Absolutely exceptional. Little touches that lifted the food to another level. Mouthwatering bread and canapés as we had delicious cocktails. The staff were charming and made us feel so welcome. Thank you so much to the chef and his team. Highly recommended. Well worth travelling down from Gloucestershire and hope to go back.

Beautiful setting for a restaurant. Fantastic decor. Professional, attentive, informed and friendly staff. Superb food. 8 course taster menu on a Saturday afternoon. I travelled four hours to experience this with a friend who is more local. I did not waste my time.

Totally memorable experience! The set 3 course lunch was truly above and beyond any 3 course lunch I've ever had! Each dish was a taste sensation...canapés, amuse bouche, starter, main and dessert, finishing with petit fours...I ran out of superlatives to use! Everything was exquisitely presented and the staff were exemplary...attentive but not overly so...a fine balance which they all mastered beautifully! And finally, the setting is picture perfect and shows that Gower really is the jewel of Wales' Crown (I may be a touch biased here!) Congratulations and many, many thanks to all at the Beach House, Oxwich...we shall moat definitely be back!!!

This is where we go to celebrate something special. On average, twice a year we get to the Beach House and once again, did not disappoint. We went for the 8 course taster menu, we feel it offers great value and we get to try fish/game that we wouldn’t try at home. First class, all the courses were absolutely amazing and the service, you can’t fault it. Well worth the price, it’s a fantastic experience and great night out.

we love the food and ethos of beach house. HOWEVER its not made clear on the website this is NOT suitable for under 14s as there is no simplified menu (used to be). So we will not return for that reason. Its one for the oldies !

Wow what a find. Booking up via the Web site was easy . Upon arrival we were greeted by a member of staff and handed a card from all the crew for our anniversary. Our dinning seats were in a wonderful position with a view looking over the beach. All staff that served us where very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The meal was out of this world . The Beach House is a rare find and is a must to visit.

We thouroughly enjoyed our visit. This could not become a regular visit for us, just too expensive, though that is not a complaint. The front of house were attentive, knowledgable and put us at ease from the start, my late decision to enjoy the curious...

Stunning !! We have not been to this restaurant since it changed hands ,but after today's meal we can't wait to return. The interior is cosy, chic and inviting. We parked for free, pretty much opposite. It reminds me of an intimate French bistrot only those in the know go to. From the moment we walked in ,our service was absolutely perfect ! Our starters of mussels and Coquilles Saint-Jacques ,were delicious and presented beautifully. Our mains was a whole guinea fowl to share, with Sunday lunch trimmings, which included roast potatoes ,carrots, parsnips, stuffing, cavello nero, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. We also had a side of broccoli and cauliflower gratin. Every single element was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The guinea fowl was glazed with orange and tasted unbelievably good. The stuffing complimented it perfectly and all the vegetables were superb. (So often ,we have had Sunday lunch out and felt completely disappointed with vegetables being almost a last minute add on deserving no care or attention )This was not the case here ,every single thing was perfect. This is by far the best Sunday lunch in Mumbles and overall the best dining experience we have had in and around the area in a very long time in what is currently a very competitive market. We felt it was excellent value for money ,particularly for the level of service and standard of food. We are already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you so much to everyone at Mor!
