Nico's Fish Bar in Solihull

Fine if you don’t mind waiting 90 minutes for a delivery. The timings on just eat need to be updated. Called to check and was blamed on traffic- 8pm on a Tuesday night!

We bought 1 mixed and 1 chicken kebab which both made us violently ill lastnight and still today. A large bone was found in my chicken tikka piece around 1 inch long which could have had serious consequences if it wasn't noticed. The tikka meat was certainly suspect to say the least and we have doubts if it was actually chicken looking at the bone size and how ill we are still today. We have contacted environmental health and have samples of the food to pass across. If there are any anomalies whatsoever we will pursue using all avenues as well as the National media. This is not a place I would recommend anyone visiting until environmental health have carried out their investigations.

Got myself a lamb doner/salad kebab in naan bread. Disappointing experience today.... kebab meat was fine, but the naan bread wasn't even warm, it hadn't been heated through full. Naan bread was prepacked, so not freshly made.

This place has become my regular, simply because of the tasty kebabs and friendly customer service. Food is cooked fresh and nothing seems too much trouble just in case you change your mind or want to add extras. Definitely like the doner meat in pitta can I make a suggestion....please add cabbage to your salads

You have tried the rest now go for the best! Kebab is just right, chips are great and delivery is FAST!! I'll be honest, I'm a big eater and the portions fill me. A1 service, well recommend.

Your typical chippy…but their doner meat in naan bread, is lovely and tasty. Good portion of kebab meat and some salad, right amount of extra hot chilli sauce. Not over powering like some others, who hide the taste of the kebab meat under the sauce. Great friendly service from the young lady, double checked my order. Highly recommend….will definitely go back again

Having been dismayed by the lack of covid care from some other restaurants and takeaways in the area, I need to report that Nicos is first rate. Proper distancing, proper care, proper attention to detail and .... above all, really great takeaway food. Thank you to all of the team for great food, great customer care and great attention to detail. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Food always fresh and tasty, staff are very friendly. Definitely the best chippy in the area, very reasonable pricing aswell and an excellent delivery service. Highly recommended

We prefer this chippy to others in the area. The fish is white, firm and fresh. It’s cooked fresh and usually whilst you wait. There are several family and meal deals and plenty of choice. Nice friendly staff too.

Friendly staff, big portion of fish and chips but very oily and the chips got cold very quick. It was inedible. The mushy peas was tasteless. Wouldn’t recommend the fish & chips from there.

Found this chippy after looking for a good place for a local takeaway. This place is cheap, the food comes in decent size portions and the staff are lovely.

Brilliant fish and chips, massive portions!! Kids love the chicken burgers and it’s quickly becoming their favourite takeaway. The new owners are lovely.

When visiting family in the area we always chose here for food we have a mix of food including kebabs, fish, chips, sausages etc ordering for 7 people and every time we are always completely satisfied with the freshness and quality of the food nothing seems as though it’s been held on heat for too long like some places resulting in dried up food, this is well worth the 15 mile drive from home I promise you. Superb food

Probably the best Fish Bar around Solihull - I wont eat kebab anymore but in tried them as the meat was New Zealand lamb and not halal - they were really, really good..

I love kebab... I love naan... Nico's are amazing for both, the place is immaculate and service is always friendly. Would highly recommend and as I type this I might even go again on Friday lol amazing just trust me.

Thank you!! We have finally found a decent chip shop to use. My husband found this through word of mouth, chips were not greasy!! And more then plenty in each of our portions. Husband had the naan bread (freshly made when he ordered) with kebab meat. Will be visiting again soon!!

This is a new chip shop within a decent parade of shops, this establishment is spotlessly clean with it's dazzling new fixtures & fittings. The staff are well presented & very friendly too, decent prices & even meal deals available too.

Popped in here after a friend raved about it. Wow! Food prepared more like a chef in a restaurant kitchen than a simple take away. Had a mixed kebab in a naan bread with all the salads and yoghurt mint and hot chilli sauces. It was sublime. Not the usual over cooked stodge, this was a delight.

After trying this a few weeks ago, Nico's has become my new 1st choice chippy. The chips, kebabs and cod are all delicious. Good value for money and friendly staff. The delivery service is great. Very impressed. Keep up the good work!

Food is nicely cooked and staff are super friendly. My husband and son really rate the fish and chips. Would be great if they could offer a gluten free option though.

We were recommended to Nico's by a friend who had visited in opening week. By far the best donner meat I've had. I really like that they stress that they use 100% grass fed New Zealand lamb. Can really taste the difference. The lady serving offered us home made taztiki on top of the donner meat which was the cherry on top of the cake.

Felt so sorry for the young girls under pressure serving, as you could tell it was opening week. The cod i ordered was so fresh tasting, chunky chips that were not greasy at all. I will deffo use again. Deffo deserves 5 stars!
