Ng Chinese Takeaway in Denbighshire

Worst Chinese we’ve ever had. I ordered chicken curry & boiled rice and my partner had Sichuan beef & boiled rice and 4 spring rolls both our mains tasted watery, no flavour whatsoever even the boiled rice was rank. It was spot the meat as tiny, dry pieces of chicken and beef. We took a few bites and binned! Seriously avoid. I never believed a Chinese could taste so bad. It gives Chinese cuisine a bad name.

Not one to usually leave a review but don’t want others to make the same mistake as us and order from here, easily the worst Chinese food - if not any type of food we’ve ever had. Hardly any meat in meat dishes, no flavour, rubbery meat and the ‘sauce’ was just beige water regardless of the dish. The food didn’t even look appetising and tasted worse than it looked, very disappointing. The lady behind the desk was very nice though.

I visited this place 3 years ago on my last visit to North Wales do went along to see if they were still there. Toy surprise they were and still the same happy lady serving. This was great to see! 3 years ago the portion sizes were so big we could of shared, sadly this wasn't the case this time around. I guess the cost of living crisis has hit everyone! The lovely lady seemed to have our best interests and pointed up to the cheaper options as a meal which I thought was fantastic. My curry and rice was £8 I want to say obviously this was instead of full portions hence why it was cheaper. The other meal she suggested was so great but I guess it's down to personal preference. I wouldn't say our visit was bad because of this. Would I come back? If ever I was in North Wales then definitely even if it was just to see the lady on the front desk Thank you .

By far the best Chinese takeaway in North Wales. Well worth the 45min round trip, because nowhere else comes close.

Been going for years and the quality of food has always been amazing. The lady behind the counter is always really pleasant and chatty too.

Don’t Evan look at this place the food is poor and what Chinese doesn’t serve salt and pepper chips we got beef in black bean sauce it was more like dried chewy beef in watered down gravy and the chips looked and tasted pre cooked about ten times over me n the Mrs love a good Chinese but this was not a Chinese I wouldn’t serve it to my dog in fact we both had a mouthful then just binned the lot and ordered a pizza from domino’s Both really disappointed as we had come on holiday on our last night decided to go for a Chinese the only good reviews are obviously people that are friends with owners as we can’t understand how people can call old food good it seriously was that bad they give Chinese a bad name !!

Worst chinese we have ever had Spring rolls were soggy and resembled no spring roll I've ever tasted King prawn sweet and sour awful the sauce was do dilute it was almost tasteless no wonder she asked if I wanted the sauce separately. It wasn't chicken. The prawns were rubbery, not at all nice Fried rice did have eggs but needed the watered down sauce yo give some flavour All I can say is never again

DO NOT ENTER. The chicken chow mein is 50% onion 50%noodles when I clearly said NO ONIONS and they said ok so clearly they have hearing or understanding problems. And the woman at the till has bad energy which you can hear in her voice and see in her eyes as if she just wants to take your money and send you off. WOK is only 10 minutes down the road and when I tell them no onions they understand unlike this low quality place.

Fantastic, friendly service. Linda always makes time to have a catch with her customers, makes feel more valued and not just another customer.

1 star is too many for this takeaway … absolutely disgusting!!! Everything tasted like it was cooked in old dirty oil. Chips were dark brown & overcooked and on top of the fried rice and chow mein were 2 rubber fried eggs. We ordered a chicken dish that came with 2 tiny pieces of chicken and the sauce on the ribs was thick like jelly. Wouldn’t feed this food to a dog

Have to say that this is the best Chinese takeaway I have ever tasted. A truly wonderful gastronomical experience. When visiting Ffrith I will DEFINITELY be calling again for some more of the same fare. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Called for a meal for me and wife, spare ribs , chow mein & beef curry , prawn crackers , food was great , didn’t have to wait long and will deffo go again when in area Recommend

Superb Chinese takeaway. It's like stepping back into the 1970s. Very popular amongst the local residents of Prestatyn. I'm only giving 5 stars because there is no option for 6 stars.

Worst Chinese I ever had!! 😭Egg fried rice was too salty, chicken chow mein didn't look like a chow mein, also too salty. Everything was extremely gressy. My kids wouldn't even touch it. It was also expensive for the low quality food you get (£27). We wished we went to McDonald's instead (and we don't even eat McDonald's) 😭

Been here twice, first time was great, second time was probably the waste chinise I've ever had... Chips where green, fried rice tasted of charcoal although not actually burnt, chicken balls where dry and some other stuff tasted like it had been microwaved, on the plus side the vintage front door is really something to behold I think maybe it's from when the building was built which is a pretty impressive piece of carpentry, prices are cheap and it's reflected in the quality of the food

Me and my girlfriend came to the Chinese as a quick takeaway. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and lovely, we can’t knock her. However, the food wasn’t the typical Chinese you would order. The sweet and sour chicken was just huge balls of chicken in a weird sauce, instead of the typical small pieces of chicken with pineapple etc, overall the food was very dissatisfying. Won’t be returning

Love this place. Linda is so friendly and polite. The meals are served on time, no delays. The Beef Curry and Fried Rice is excellent, very tasty. Have tried other Chinese Takeaways, but this is the best, so good in fact, I buy myself a meal every other day! Saves cooking!!!!

shocked this place is open the place looks like something from the 70’s and pretty sure judging by the taste and the quality of the food the meat was bought in the 70’s and kept in the freezer. The chips looked like they’ve been brushed up off the floor and re fried 10 times. The chicken looked a boiled insole out of your shoe was disgusting. By the way that meal was chicken and chips. the chinese meal i ordered was some kind of fried rice with leftover scraps off meat in it, that was dry and tasteless. Am really not sure now these places stay open, i’d prefer to eat canned dog food than eat from here again. Shocking embarrassment to be called a takeaway

If I could give it less than 1 I would. The chips got thrown in the bin they were cooked on the outside very raw on the inside. The chicken curry tasted like a microwave meal and the beef chow mein was burnt and tasted absolutely vile!!! Never eaten anything so bad in my life

Walked in after pushing jamming door open. One person was waiting for their order. They don't just serve chips in curry etc, you must order full meals. Waited 10 minutes to be served, no one came out from the back so left.

Saw some good reviews thought we would take a chance. We arrived about 5 mins late and food was not ready. Noone else waiting. You have to have chips, rice or noodle with a meal. You cannot just have meal. Food was vey bland and tateless, except fof mini spribg rolls. They were nice. No free prawn crackers either. Bit of a dissappointment.

Lovely shared spare ribs yummy, but on this occasion had an English dish, but most definitely intend to try the Chinese menu! Pleasant staff, waited for our food which was cooked fresh.

Best Take Away in the area. Fresh tasty food at sensible prices. Can't recommend enough. It's a bit of a wait sometimes but well worth it!

Whilst visiting the much loved Prestatyn we came across this place, Wish we hadn't!We wanted to order Chinese food and some plain chicken for the children...When asked if they have chicken nuggets, The lady(?) flew off her chair and ferociously pointed at the menu stating "WE ARE A CHINESE, A CHINESE!!!" To which I replied "Yes, but, You also sell chips?"Needless to say I joined the massive queue a few doors down, Which was well worth the wait, A superb fish-bar with child friendly food and a humane, friendly service!

Always cook my food how I like it. I personally ask for it extra spicy and that's what I get. Other places never seem to listen but Ng's always have. Best priced Chinese take away around I think.

Wasn't all that happy we ordered ham omelette chips tasted reheated the portion size was horrendous wouldn't even feed 1 never mind 2 it was all squashed into a little metal container

Had a few meals and I don’t know what they have put in there meals but it wasn’t at all great. Putting it nicely just avoid, can be very rude! I ate some and it just came back up! Was very disappointed and I won’t be returning!

If your after just chips peas and gravy don't bother going they don't do it they say where not a chippy but you can get chips with a meal they only do set meals not chips on its own ?????

Went to Ng's Chinese Takeaway on Thursday evening and it's still the Top of my List for Chinese takeaway food. I have visited many times and the food is always of a very superior quality. Really tasty and fresh with lots of choice. Linda, front of house, I have got to know now and she is always so welcoming and seems to know a lot of her regulars by name. In fact we always have a bit of a laugh when we are all waiting for our food as Linda has a cracking sense of humour. I always look forward to going there as the service is also courteous and quick, even when they are really busy, as they often are. The time flies as there is a lovely friendly atmosphere there. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending NG Chinese Takeaway. I have tried others when I'm not in the area, as I love Chinese food, but no others compare at all.

I went in here because the chippy a few doors away was ram jam full, the lady there was only serving 1 person, I asked a question whilst she was serving someone, she told me to wait my turn. I did turn, and that was turn around and walk out.

Food was 'ok' if starving, lady taking the orders could have a better attitude and the chicken tastes like it came from a tin. Chips reheated. Wouldn't go again

Me and a few friends travelled 10 mins to order from here because the star rating was one of many few that seemed quite good, but I wish I had looked at the comments on the reviews because all of the bad ones are very true!! The food is not fresh and is completely tasteless, believe it or not the picture I have posted is suppose to be sweet and sour chicken. PLEASE avoid!!

How can you serve meals then jump on the surcharge for tiny bags... ripoff..No way are the profits going to charity. Paper alternatives should be offered by now.

Chinese meals only can't get just a portion of chips

Lady behind the desk was friendly and welcoming, service with a smile. Prices were usual for a Chinese. Not our usual as we are on holiday. Food was okay, sweet and sour Cantonese chicken sauce was slightly metallicy tasting, and bland over all. Chips were beautiful! Fried rice was yummy. Also had mini spring rolls, menu didn't say vegetarian or meat, turns out they were meat and very mushy not nice. Over all nice but not somewhere I would regularly go.

Incredibly slow service . Food when it arrived was very disappointing . Chow mein alright but everything else was tasteless and bland. Plus is good customer service and a nice local run place for the local community.

On holiday, so never been. From the minute we walked in we knew it was going to be ok as the place looks tidy and clean, has a 5* hygine rating on the door, there was a que of people waiting and the phone was ringing off the hook. The lady taking orders was lovely, she new all the locals. Didn't have to wait too long for our food. The food was lovely. Still red hot when we got back to the resort. Would recommend this place to others.

Very rude women behind counter asked for chips with Chinese curry sauce and she told me were not a chip shop if you want a chip shop go to James fish bar wouldn't go there now if I wanted anything more!

I’ve been going to NGs for a number of years now and I’ve never once had a bad experience. The lady who has served me every time who I now come to know is Linda has always welcomed me with a smile and asked how I am unlike some places where your first encounter is “what do you want” here it’s not the case. I’ve always liked the homey vibe, and they do a lovely Special Fried rice with good pieces of meat, prawns and a fried egg, the portion size is very reasonable especially for the price. It’s a firm favourite of mine and I’ve not found another Chinese in the area that beats it. It’s also a pleasure to support a family run business that I believe has been running for 40 + years or so. I’ll be visiting again soon - my go to Chinese.

Had noodles the top layer looked ok but underneath was burn noodles, clearly old and they hid them by placing some new on the top. Put it straight to bin. Will never go there again

just received food frm this take been using many yrs but this time was appualling chicken balls luke warm an soggy I believed maybe warmed up frm day before unadable special curry contained 2 king size prawns 3 pcies of pork no chicken no beef all sauce,, shocking after complaing was told wld only replace chicken balls but will do nothing with rest of meak as special curry dos never contain beef...?I believe wld change balls as were terrible ...girl spoke to on phone said she only started today an manager don't speak English,,????????? how convient will not be using agn, awfull ,,,,

Great food! Freshly cooked to order. Easy to park outside. Love the curry and fried rice dishes. Friendly and efficient service. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered a large meal for our first evening on holiday, visited here last year and had a lovely meal so thought we’d go again! We was massively dissatisfied the food was appalling. Chicken chow mein was greasy and tasted burnt. Sweet & sour chicken was mostly batter with a tiny chicken piece in the middle. Chicken curry was lumpy and tasted anything but like a chicken curry! I’ve had better out of a sachet (mayflower) it was awful and the chicken in it was just like scraps. It spoilt our first night as food was thrown away! Lesson learnt never to go back and waste money!! Don’t waste your money go further afield for a decent meal!!

Our family has been going here for fantastic takeaways for the past 30+ years and never had a disappointing meal. Definitely recommend the fried shredded beef in BBQ sauce! Great service by Linda and her family.

Quite possibly the worst chippy in Prestatyn.. Very snotty woman behind counter, my wife should have just walked out. Food was plain and bland.. Chips made from cardboard would of been better with more flavour. Won't be coming here again..

Have used this place since the 1980's when i lived in Prestatyn. I always pop back when visiting family.

Food was excellently prepared and very fresh. What really stood out for me was the service. Very friendly and everyone who came in was addressed by their names and she new there recent orders. Whilst they might have been local customers I was pleased they went to the effort to remember

First time there as we in holiday and I have to say the food is piping hot and plenty of it, only thing we were charged for a bag to which I am not used to from a takeaway but it would not stop me going again!!

Nos habían dicho que este lugar era bueno hace un par de años por amigos, pero como no entregar nunca habíamos probado, pero como estábamos pasando un día que decidimos probarlo. Pagamos 20 libras y repuesto una bolsita de comida, decidimos que no sería suficiente y nos dieron algunas fichas extra a las inmediaciones de chippy al principio. Me alegro de haberlo hecho, ya que las patatas fritas de so bre eran incomibles, muy duro y rancio. La comida china no estaban bien, la dulce y agria era rojo brillante de neón y probado como el azúcar, la carne fue duro, y terminamos poniendo todo. Hay restaurantes chinos mucho mejor en la zona, y entregar.

I have only positive feedback this is the best Chinese in north wales. Never had a bad meal Linda is always smiling and chatty I would recommend anyone to eat here. Love love love this place

The food is very sub-par. Hardly any meat in the dishes and many of the dishes (e.g. curry or chop soy) taste the same.
