Amazing food but seriously good chips and very generous portions

Always a good meal, well valued and lovely staff. Best takeaway around, which is why it's always so busy, so have patience and enjoy.

We've come here for many years and have always found the food the be good. It's a shame the service doesn't match. Even when you phone the order through and get told it'll be ready in some many minutes you ALWAYS have to wait ages when you get there. Tonight we ordered two Chinese dishes at 17:40 and it's now 18:50 and I've still not got the order. It's not the first time either but this will be the last.

The best chippy around ,i travel 10 miles each way just to go there ,George is brilliant .

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I had called in some time ago when passing for fish & chip, I have since been back to sample the Chinese and it does not disappoint, lovely fresh tasty food, generous portions and friendly welcoming staff.

Salt & pepper ribs disgusting, no meat just 14 chunks of white gristle & fat.

One of the nicest takeaway chips I've had, 2nd time was just as good as I wondered if I were just lucky the first time, looking forward to trying something else next, only had the chips pie and curry so far.

We have visited many times and return time and time again to be greeted by consistently lovely memorable dishes. Highly recommended.

Congratulations the worst food I have ever had from a takeaway, threw it in the bin , you can’t even cook chips, spoke to a few friends about it and they all said the same

After spending £30 on a chippy for 3 of us we sat down to eat it and a few mouthfuls in my son spat a chip out and said ewww what’s that,,, when we looked it was two little stones!! My partner called them to explain what had just took place and the owner said ‘Well this does happen sometimes when we prepare the food’. He didn’t seem at all bothered about it and said we can have a free bag of chips on our next visit!! 🤮 Think I will pass thanks George!!

Live in Prestatyn but regularly make the drive to Rhuddlan as I feel it's worth it, despite there being others nearer to home. It's well run with friendly staff and you only have to see the queues on a Saturday night to gauge how good the food is! My 'go to' favourite is King Prawns in Tomato sauce with fried rice, and it's delicious and consistently so, whenever I have it from here. Have also had the standard fish/chips option and not to mention (but I will!) the Spam fritter and again it's very good and I have never been anything but completely satisfied, or had any cause for complaint at all with the food from here Overall I would happily recommend this takeaway, based on my experiences.

I have been a regular for quite a while now, and I have to say.... ITS EXCELLENT! Food has always been on point, timing has been questionable, but overall it is a good takeaway, and probably one of the best Chinese in Rhuddlan! keep it up!

First of all, the staff were very nice. The service was extremely good. But the food was excellent, one of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Would defo recommend and I would visit again!

Firstly service extremely slow if it wasn’t for paying first I would have walked out. For fish and chips it was expensive and it was one of the worst I have had as long as I can remember. If your waiting ages and paying good money don’t annoy the customer by cooking up rubbish otherwise you won’t have any customers left!

I struggle to believe the positive reviews for this place. The wait was extremely long 30mins+ if it wasn’t for paying first I would have walked out. I can’t remember having such bad fish and chips made worse by the wait and above average prices. If you intend on charging handsomely, keeping the customer waiting and serving them rubbish you won’t have any customers left! We are not here to do you a favour.

It’s always a treat to have a takeaway from here. George and everyone are always helpful and the food is always good. I’d recommend ordering by phone to save sometime, but even so at busy times there can be a little wait. There’s a good range of traditional chippy dishes as well as Chinese food. A great place, make sure you try it out!

Came for a Chinese on Wednesday - I ordered a chicken fried rice, however when we got home there was “extra” meat in the rice. Pork being one, I do not eat pork at all so it ended up in the bin. The other food my family got was OK, not as good as it has been.

We stay in the area twice a year and use Pie and Pudding a number of times each stay, However tonight’s food was very low standard for Pie and Pudding, Firstly the order that I brought back home was incorrect and missing bits that I ordered The food that was right was disappointing, One meal was a chicken dish which I could count the bits of chicken and then this was in a bed of what can only be described as rusty water , the other dish was a beef dish same again hardly any beef and a box of water So disappointing and I’ve always loved the food from Pie and Pudding,

Me and the family visited to test out the sausages for our dinner. The service was very speedy. Me and the wife both ordered jumbo sausages and they were jumbo alright. 10 inches at least. Me and the wife very much enjoyed the sausages and she was very satisfied. Very large sausages. Best in the whole of wales.

Can't go wrong with your choice of food here - always fresh and tasty and great value for money with huge portions. The wait is worth every minute and testimony to it's popularity. Great customer service. Can't wait to come back. You won't regret trying!

29/06/2023 partner went for food fish cake chips bap cheesy chips got home set it all out went to eat it and there was mould on the cheese and a hook/needle in a chip! Bear in mind I’m nearly 30 weeks pregnant! This is absolutely disgusting will call in the chippy first thing tomorrow will never come back here again! Did try and ring up but as usual they never answered the phone everyone please avoid

We've been travelling 10 miles almost every week for longer than 15 years to visit Pudding and Pie and before that when it was the Peacock Takeaway. Never had a poor meal, only very occasionally had a wrong item and that was down to new staff. It's always busy but that's an indication of the quality of food and level of service.

Got Chinese takeaway for first time a few weeks ago and food was excellent, although a bit pricey and long wait. Went during the week and food was absolutely terrible. We ended up picking out the bits we could eat, but the vast majority went into our food recycling bin. Big disappointment, especially as we paid about £34 for takeaway for 3 people. We won’t be returning. There are much better places locally.

Tried takeaways all over N Wales and this is consistently the best. Always friendly service, lovely food and generous portions. The fact that it is so busy, especially at weekends, is proof of its continuing popularity.

Food is ok, but probably the worst service in wales. Every time you phone they say 20mins, you go there to collect when they say and you wait another 20/30 mins if your lucky. Place is a joke and boss needs a lesson in customer service.

Great food and value for money friendly staff

I'm sorry to say but i will not be going back as the chips were all bad had to throw them away. The gentleman serving was very nice and polite but the food was not good . I do appologise but I'm just been honest.

We've been coming here for a while now and the food and service is consistently good! Staff are super friendly and chatty. 😀 Seeing similar businesses in the area closing down, it's good to see a family run business thrive. Fridays and Saturdays are always busy, but this is a good thing. Special shout out to their Satay dishes and Crispy chilli beef. Chip portions are quite sizeable as well!!! 👍 I would definitely recommend this place!

Service is constantly slow. Average wait time is +30 minutes for a portion of chips and gravy every time i have gone. They don’t multi task or think smartly when sorting the orders to reduce wait time.

Had a great takeaway of Haddock and chips and crispy duck with trimmings .First time using Pudding and Pie .All was perfect and our guests from Texas were thrilled with the crispy duck and Loved my fish and chips Staff really pleasant .Pleasure to deal with them We’ll be back !

Everything seems to be cooked fresh, I had Pudding Chips Peas & Gravy which was nice, my wife had Fish & Chips which could easily have fed both of us. It was very nice & I would recommend this place.

I was so looking forward to this but rather disappointed 😞 pies were rather sad and undercooked, salt and pepper chips very lacking in both and to top it all they struggled with an order for 7 people!! Such a shame but on the plus side the gravy was lovely!

Wow the best Chinese takeaway in Denbighshire by far. The food is absolutely delicious and plentiful. My family and I love to try different dishes but we have our favourites and other takeaways in the area don’t come close to here there is no comparison.

Food as always is excellent, unfortunately the advised time of 25 to 30 minutes was actually 58 minutes. I appreciate that fresh food takes time... But tell me an hour and I'll be happy to wait an hour no problem, every time, because the food is that good! But please don't tell me 25 to 30 minutes then have me outside waiting for another 25 to 30 minutes.... Its just frustrating...

Been there many times. Staff are friendly but recall one time saying they were out of chips (😕?) On the topic of chips they can be hit and miss in terms of hardness. Sausages however I have had no complaints about. Fish is brill too.

Arrived 5.30 for fish, chips and peas for 2 takeaway. First impressions was how clean it was and the waiting area was sectioned off with plastic screens. Only had to wait 10 minutes and saw the fish being freshly cooked. the portion size was massive...

I've been going to the original take away for over 30 years, always been fantastic. Not so tonight, the containers that the food are served in are remarkably smaller. Food is still good, but starting to get expensive because of the smaller portions. Disappointing.

Very dissapointed with our food last night. Tasteless to the point we threw it away plus the wait for it was so long. 10 minutes they said on phone, waited another 30 mins after arriving there.

I have been there 3 times now and on every visit they have took ages . But the last time it took 45 minutes to get our food and all the food we ordered was already cooked . There were 5 customers in shop at this time . I watched them get orders wrong and people came in after us on got served before us . One chap ordered nuggets for his kids and stood there for 25 minutes only to be told then they didnt have any . Terrible place will never be going back there the place is a joke . Shame really coz the food is not that bad bar them putting the pies in the microwave

Just ordered our first chinese takeaway from here and will not go back. My partner was told to collect in 20 minutes, arrived and had to wait a further 20 minutes, as meals weren't ready. Ordered Salt and Pepper Squid, Crispy Chicken Chilli with fried rice and Special Curry with fried rice. The squid tasted like it was coated in the same batter as the fish, then just sprinkled with salt and pepper. It tasty like chippy fish from using the same fryer and nothing like a typical salt and pepper squid dish. We even had a chicken nugget and chip thrown in the box! The crispy chicken is chunks of chicken, not shredded and also has that chippy taste to it, which overpowers the dish. Really unpleasant and flavoured lingered afterwards. Sauce was ok, but didn't mask the chippy taste. The Special Curry was ok, mostly chicken and prawns were small instead of king, as with most chinese takeaways. The best part of the meal was the fried rice, which was fluffy and tasty, but this was the only part we enjoyed sadly. Very disappointing.

Have been here a few times and always enjoyed but after a visit last Friday 3rd may I really don’t think I will be going back in a hurry. Young girl serving not the usual pleasant young lady who has previously served me. Didn’t put pie chips and peas on a tray when I asked her too as we were in the car . Also the chips were disgusting. I have been using both establishments for over 20 years and there has never been a change in food quality or portion sizes. As some reviews say you may be in for a wait if busy but this is because the demand is so high, Why.... because the food is great. this has always been our familys first choice for Chinese food or now for Fish and chips. When not so busy food is very quick, but always fresh. keep up the good work.

We just called tonight 6:30 Young girl served me. The chips we received where under cooked and colourless. This is not a complaint as we have previously been quite pleased.This is more of a heads up so as not to loose your custom. Sadly we have had to throw them away, which is a little disappointing, as we have paid for a service. Please can George the owner make sure the girl cocentrates on the job in hand and not on texting, or make sure the chips are cooked before serving.

Dont phone to place your order before going to pick it up as your order will not be started till you get there I placed an order at 5.50 being told it will be ready for 6.10 I got there at 6.10 and didn’t receive my food till 6.55 other customers waiting looked like they were in the same boat, after all that wait the food was a 6/10 NEVER AGAIN

Asked for vegetable fried rice and where the veg had gone I don't know, I wanted vegetables instead of meat all I got was a pot of fried rice with a scattering of peas and afew minute pieces of mushroom . Not what I expected for £7odd.

Vert disapointed again in the timing issue still at this takeaway. Moved to chester from rhuddlan 4 years ago and use to go to here many times but always was an issue with how long food will take to be ready. So for first time in a while we thought we would try it as tbf the meals are and always have been good. Called them up at 6.55pm and was told the same dreaded story of yes be 20 minutes. So my memory was jogged bk and thought well ill go down for 7.30pm as i remember what use to be like. So arrived just after 7.30pm to then be waiting and waitng and waiting. I could also see the anger building on many other patient customers. So 7.55pm arrived and guess what im still waiting along with the other few customers. My order then arrived at just beforw 8.10pm. I mean what a disgrace i was even thinking i dont even want this meal now. Its such a shame that George hasnt had this issue sorted and just say to the people in the phone its going to be an hour and guess what ill come oin one hour to collect. People dont want to get there in the time told then have to wait 40 more minutes do they. Ridiculous!!

Ordered a mixed grill over the telephone and picked up half an hour later only to be so disappointed by quality of the mixed meat. I had a small piece of gammon steak very tasteless, 1 small standard chippy sausage, a small piece of vey tough steak which was very chewy which I gave my dog and a piece of tough liver. Called them to let them know it was very poor and they didn't really want to know they just said bring it back!!! Do they really think I would complaint for nothing I was not going to make another 6 mole journey to bring back what I could not eat, I gave the dog the jane dance meat.such a shame on after sales of customer service very rude Chinese lady!!wontbe using again.
