Chopsticks in Denbighshire

Extremely bland food.Simply the worst Chinese food I have ever had.They could learn a few things from my local Chinese in Wigan.Peters chippy its called .That is quality with large portions as well. Bland and small potions and the egg fried rice is nothing I've ever experienced before.AWFUL..😝

Rushed overpriced food which taken too long. Black bean sauce came out as water fried fried white. Salt and pepper chips just oinion with green peppers. I only ate it after a long day of walking around Wales and the price I rather not let it go to waste.

Low cost and bang average quality. Chicken balls were good, sweet & sour sauce was definitely more at the sour end and the chips were frozen steak-cut fries, which I left most of (where are the good old chinese chips I remember from my youth?). But for under £9, I was ok with it.

we were staying at youth hostel ,and always worry about places you dont know ,but the service and price was good and food really loved it and lots of it ,would go back again

Hello, I’ve been trying to contact you via the phone number you’ve provided. We came 3 girls on Sunday the 9th June and we forgot a blue bag on the chair whilst we were waiting for the food. We recommend the hong style sweet and sour chicken and char sui chow mein. Mini spring rolls tasty too. Reasonable value too.

The king prawns in kung po were really good with lots of vegetables. Already been here 3 times always great

We’ve been to Llangollen many times but this is the first time we’ve ordered from Chopsticks. We had King Po King Prawn and Duck in Plum Sauce with Egg Fried Rice. It was delicious, plenty of vegetables which were all cooked to perfection. A very nice meal, we will certainly use Chopsticks again when we’re in the area.

The food was not good, had to throw almost all away. Avoid if possible

The food tasted burned, and wasn't very hot, half of it was thrown away, I visit this area once or twice a year, I won't be visiting Chopsticks again.

Terrible food! Meat dishes were mainly onions, satay sauce and gravy were inedible! £82 spent and most went in bin! Preordered on phone and then waited half an hour when we got there! Staff also rude. Never again!

Grabbed a takeaway for my family tonight. We usually go to Chirk but needed something in llan. The mushroom chow mein and chicken chow mein were lovely and even my daughter ate hers. My son's chicken fried rice was a little bland for him but he added soy sauce and said it was lovely and he had prawn toast which he loved too. The lady who served was very polite and friendly. Would definitely use again x

Barely any meat per portion, loads of really nice veg though. BBQ ribs really nice. Rice & chips okay. Salt & pepper items had no spice. Sweet & sour sauce tastes vinegary.

What a great Chinese takeaway, the food tasted amazing. However, a slight criticism would be that, like many Chinese restaurants, they only take cash. Have an easy night in and get someone else to cook. Worth a visit

Looked at the reviews beforehand as we were visiting Llangollen and thought we would give Chopsticks a try..We were sorely disappointed because we walked into the takeaway the reception was surly with no smiles or welcoming service at all, which always puts me right off a place. Picked up our food and for the price it was very average. If you are really hungry I would advise you to order a lot more than intended as the portions are really small. I won't be going back there in a hurry.

Always incredible food from here. Lovely staff and clean, tasty food. One of the best Chinese' I've been to.

My hubby and I go here all the time - love the people and the food is piping hot, fresh and delicious. I am so sorry to see that there are a couple of not so nice reviews, but in the last 3 years, we've never had anything but great service and great food... hope you give it a try x

Lovely food and the lady on the desk is an absolute sweetheart. We are locals and always use this takeaway for Chinese food. Not had a bad meal here and that is the truth... x

Thank you for coming on Sunday night. Unfortunately due to supply chain issue, we ran out of stock on the key menu items earlier than expected. We are sorry we could not serve you that night but would be delighted to see you again next time (we are open again on Thursday 18th August).

Went for takeaway 9.10pm to find door locked thought customers inside saying they were now closed, . Advertising open till 10 pm online. . They should just close down and let another takeaway take over that actually can go be a good reliable service.

Rubbish take away closed an hour earlier than advertised. People in there but door locked. This takeaway needs to leave Llangollen been nothing but bad reputation since it opened. I hope they close down soon and give a decent takeaway a chance in our lovely town

Omfg the women behind the counter is so friggin rude No one comes into the shop to take your order stood there for 10 minutes to place the order- then she treats you like your an inconvenience- just wow 😳 As for food - had better

As a Chinese Scouser ( Liverpool having the oldest Chinese population in Europe ) I very rarely eat Chinese food outside of the City. But I missed lunch & dinner and had been the pub to watch the footie so was ravenous. Greatly surprised by the quality of the food I had ; it was freshly cooked and made with quality ingredients. I had combination dimsum , chilli crispy beef & egg fried rice.all for £17. Large portions as well My go to place from now on in Llangollen.

Just had a special fried rice. Seemed to be held together with hair. Pulled 3 out of the one dish. Disgusting.

Went down just to get a egg fried rice, got charged £4 that was supposed to be 2.20 but didn't realise till I had got back as I was in a rush with a baby. Mistake or not it tasted fishy, would not recommend

Came here on way home, brought ribs, starters, main course with house rice. Had to wait over half and hour for food, sounded like only one chef cooking one dish at a time, only take cash here. Staff were a bit brusque and when asking for lemon chicken just barked “no lemon” at us! Overall the food was really good, pineapple chicken was lovely, rice was superb and food well cooked, would use again but order in advance and collect.

Ordered a takeaway here salt pepper chicken , salt pepper chips chicken foo young . Fried rice . Food is average ; wasn’t horrible though -just wasn’t the best . But the service is woeful what a rude rude woman - she really needs to go to Charm school that one - just very unfriendly & ignorant 👎

Never again! This take away obviously relies on passing trade and holiday makers because no person in the right mind would go back. £30 for beige under cooked, tasteless food that I waited far too long for!!! Most of it went in the bin!!!

Ordered the chilli fried squid, prawn toast and 2 portions of salt and pepper chips and had to wait almost 45 mins. I was under the impression that it would be good with a wait this long however What a sorry excuse for a £3.50 salt and pepper chips - cold, soggy and downright miserable. Prawn toast tasted like I bit into a bottle of vinegar and hard to swallow. The chilli fried squid ended up being 8 king prawns in a absolute forest of greens All in all. s**t not worth the £17 hole it’s left me with.

Ordered the food in the take away and this took about 45 minutes. When we finally got the food back to the campsite, my dish had 8 pieces of pork and the rest was bean sprouts, absolutely no taste with this dish. I really do not recommend Chopsticks in Llangollan

Not great as last time I orded a duck dish and it teased like prawns... not impress!

Very good food, very fast, a very good value for money, I would definitely recommend this take away.

We were staying nearby for the weekend and chose to get a take away from here simply because it was the closest. Woman who took the order was very rude huffing and puffing and raised her voice on a number of occasions. Was told it would take 30 minutes for collection which is a little longer than most from my experience but still realistic. I got to the shop about 25 minutes after we made the order and waited in the shop for at least another 25 minutes which is not acceptable. The woman we spoke to over the phone continued to be very rude to me and other customers in the shop. Food was very average, it was very greasy with pools of grease in the containers. They also forgot my bbq sause so had to use someone's else sweet and sour which I'm not a fan of. Wouldnt recommend eating from here unless desperate.

Chicken fried rice was boiled with chicken thrown in and smelt disgusting. Char siu chow mein was vile just burnt chicken and greasy noodles. Chips cheap frozen ones. Dissapointed to say the least I'm worried if my 11yr old son and I are going to end up in the nearest hospital tomorrow after a mouthful it's that bad.

Staying across the road at the Gales, this delicious chinese was our first nights evening choice. We ate in and had the 2 course menu, choosing soups and mains. All was freshly cooked, full of flavours and filling our empty bellies.

after sampling what this place has to offer, I have no idea how they are still open. sloppy tasteless food at an inflated price. wont be returning.

My partner just had chicken chow mein and chips from here. The owner is so sweet and gave my yappy dog a treat whilst we waited. Food tasted great and not too greasy like some places. Not the cheapest, but if you want fresh good quality food, then you that's what you will get and its well worth it.

We had the set meal for 3 plus some noodles and pork balls and it was some of the nicest Chinese we have ever tasted. The lady in the takeaway was very friendly and allowed me to make my order and then let go to the cash machine to get the cash - they do not take plastic. If we are in the area again we will definitely go there again.

Went here this evening on the way home absolutely shocking both mine and my partners food order was wrong they got both meals wrong I ordered king prawn in a garlic sauce I did not want it deep fried in batter it was 6 king prawns in half an onion and not only that it was very overpriced I feel ripped off

The food at Chopsticks is excellent. The BBQ ribs are to die for. Everything is freshly cooked so if you don't want a long wait order in advance. Meal costs are very competitive and worth every penny.

AVOID. Food was rubbish. Left most of it. Very very expensive. Never again.

We regularly order the singapore fried rice and singapore style noodles and other dishes as well and have always found the quality to be consistently high and the ingredients are great, with plenty of vegetables and fresh meat. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews, as we have never had a bad meal and the place is spotlessly clean. It does get busy and you can have a long wait, so we just call and pre-order.

We had a take-away from Chopsticks and started with a won ton soup that was pretty decent.

After all the rave reviews on here we tried it recently when we had a break in Llangollen,have to admit after standing in a queue for about 45 minutes and getting the food home a bit disappointed with it as we were hoping for something exceptional,not saying food was bad just that it disappointed us.

Travelling around the country a lot always rate a chinese takeaway by its Hot & Sour Soup. This was one of the best...spicy & full of meat, prawns & veg

Clean takeaway with good sized portions. The lady behind the counter does find it hard to make eye contact but you're ordering food to take away! No issues here, would definitely return.

Fui a esta llevar temprano en la noche en la víspera de Navidad y fue completamente ignorado. La mujer no hagas contacto visual así que después de haber caminado a la cocina dos veces por largos períodos de tiempo, aparece a contestar el teléfono (aún ignorando nosotros) que nos fuimos. preguntado a otros habitantes sobre la comida y me dijeron que no es la comida. No vamos a volver, nos fuimos al río Dragón en su lugar. Excelente servicio y comida maravillosa.

Amazing food,never had a bad meal, usual have a curry (special) and chilli beef which is always high standard. Would definitely recommend to anybody. Staff are not very chatty but at the end of the day it's the food that matters but they are polite

Ordered a Singapore noodles for dinner after asking the restaurant lady about it and pointing to the photos shown in the restaurant counter, then we got our food and it's not at all the same noodles as shown in the photos!! Asked the restaurant about it and she refused to admit she was wrong and told me that I ordered wrongly, but my husband was there and he confirmed it, in the end she said they don't have that noodles!! How frustrating and rude!! Just admit that you are wrong, that would have made the situation a bit better!!

Had a beef curry from here while camping. It was a little bit oily, but it tasted lovely. Full of fresh veggies too, onions, mushrooms, peppers - and not at the expense of the meat either! Chips were good and crispy.

Moored up at llangollen basin and walked down to chopsticks about 15 min, the food was prepared and cooked from order which made the food very fresh.the quantity and quality was excellent, when we got back to boat the food was piping hotthe price was very good as well

The food here is OK but nothing special. It's average price for the area and the service is sometimes a bit poor.

Took a chance on Chopsticks and it paid off. Ordered 4 starters, prawn crackers and 2 mains plus rice, came to about £30... The mains were beautiful and the fried rice was light and not greasy. The starters were average though, not bad but not great. Despite the starers i would happily return to Chopsticks.

hot and fresh and large portions. nice little shop with good service and a lot to choose from. Open on a sunday and prompt service with reasonable prices.

No waiting like other take aways locally. You put your order in and if they say 10 minutes it is ready in 10 minutes

Does exactly what it says on the hoardings which cover the windows. The food isn't up to the Yang Sing in Manchester, but you shouldn't expect it to be. It just does everything you'd expect of a Chinese takeaway. Large portions, freshly cooked. On the last visit the crispy duck was much better than expected; so was the Singapore rice.

We stay in Llangollen twice a year in a little cottage that we rent and one of our treats during the week is a takeaway and film night :). We have used 'Chopsticks' twice now and have been very impressed with the quality and service. A really extensive menu and great tasting food!!

Food and service brilliant, lovely owners very pleasant place to eat, thoroughly enjoyed it. Would certainly return whenever in LLangollen

I ordered from Chopsticks last Sunday (August 10th). I firstly tried to call in my order but after 20 minutes of the phone being "engaged", I gave up and walked there. I ordered my food and was told it would be half an hour.After 20 minutes of wandering around Llangollen I decided to wait at the takeaway. I had to wait a further 40 minutes (so half an hour longer than told) for my food. The woman behind the counter did apologise profusely and gave me free prawn crackers as a peace offering. The food was ok....not great, not terrible. They were all sold out of spring rolls (my first choice) so opted for mini veggie spring rolls....they were the highlight of my meal- the soup my partner had was not nice, and our 2 mains didnt really scream out anything special.So not a great review for Chopsticks, I doubt I will be going back

We happen to walk past Chopsticks during our visit in Llangollen, the food and service was both very good. We will definitely be paying another visit next time we're in Llangollen!

Nice food at a decent price, service was good and plenty to choose from we enjoyed it a and would go again !
