First time ever had food at the restaurant and would highly recommend it. Plenty of fish recipes, wife was delighted and enough options for me and the kids aswell. We were told there might be a possible delay on food, in all honesty it was the standard time you'd expect to wait and looking out to the harbour spotting boats and birds including a swan flying the kids were enjoying the view. Kids meals were plentiful, had I realised the size we would have ordered 1 meal and split it between them. Both adults meals were very tasty and we have already recommended going there to our friends and family.

Good covid procedures. Warm greeting on arrival. Good menu selection. Hubby had the seafood special (basically scampi and chips) but it was very good. I had the Italian salad which was delicious and well presented. Didn't go for puddings as the menu selection was a little dull. But over all good meal, decent price.

Enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago for a party of 12 and our meals were mostly good but one bad. I had an excellent sea bass (not on the menu but I overheard another couple ordering it and also ordered it too). I gather the pasta dishes were good too but the pork Sunday lunch was tough. The restaurant staff try very hard to please.

A first time visit since the new owners took over. The place has had a makeover (fresh and inviting) and has been booked out most evenings since. Dinner was delicious, good range of drinks and a very friendly welcome from the new owners and staff. New events planned (music, gin festivals etc). A new favourite and we will definitely be back. Well worth a visit by those who have been here before and those who haven’t!

Visited for a family birthday. Fantastic choice of freshly cooked food which was beautifully presented. The decor is a little dated but you go for the food not the interior design and the relaxed atmosphere certainly makes up for it. The food is very competitively priced in fact you would expect to pay more for the excellent offerings which would not be out of place in a very expensive starred restaurant. Really enjoyed this first visit, it most certainly won't be our last!!

Heard so much about the food here that we decided to try the Sunday lunch. Booked for 14.30, arrived and was instantly disappointed with the decour. Service was poor, had wait at the bar for ages despite there being plenty of tables available. The roast beef dinner was very disappointing. Beef was chewy, veg was dry, minimal potatoes, gravy thin and watery. I will not be returning here any time soon. Find another place to dine!

Me my Mrs and mum and dad decided to book for my birthday meal we went to book and was told there was no need as it was a Wednesday and there was no need. Anyway on the Wednesday we called in whilst out with the dogs to make sure we had a table, which we did 19:30. We went to the restaurant at 19:20. We had no table and kept outside waiting for 5 mins, my Mrs went in and asked if there was a problem and they said no this is how it is when you come with dogs. This is supposed to be a DOG friendly restaurant NOT!! Anyway there attitude wasn't what we expected so we left. We Will never go there again spoiled my birthday

England yacht club has a few visitor berths at a very good price. The cafe is also good however the variety is limited. The positive reviews are mystifying. If you come here for Sunday carvery it seems to be ok. If you don't, the meals are frozen-style, and chips and peas come with everything. Typical menu is burger (chips and peas), scampi (chips and peas)... Service is slow and we waited a while for the waitress to come despite only one other couple in the room. We were not told there were specials until we overheard the waitress telling another table. I ordered sea bass with chilli sauce (with chips and peas). The delicate fish was ruined with half a jar of supermarket chilli sauce smothered over it. The chips came when we'd almost finished the main course. Our food was accompanied by Kiss fm TV playing rap music above our heads. The restaurant is located in a portacabin furnished with mobile home style seating. The view out onto the estuary is great but is obstructed by chairs and furniture piled high. This place is probably good fun if you want a few drinks in the bar after sailing but not if you care about food. Don't waste money here, go to the local fish and chip shop where food isn't pretending to be be better than it is.

We had no reservation, but sat at an unreserved table, to be told we had to move as it was reserved even though the notice was not put on the table. Once reseated at a table by the door we were then told by the same individual that we would not be able to order any food as they had fully booked the restaurant for that evening. In a whole room at that time there were around ten patrons. Since we went back to this restaurant a couple of times, we saw the same individual working there and we have experienced I friendly service there ever. We have not eaten there and hoped to use the yacht club socially but find it very unwelcoming. Advised to make reservations, which is obvious, but don't look for happy servers.

There is a choice of three meats and you can have all three if you want plus a choice of eight veg to choose from, home made and scrumptious, especially the cauliflower cheese and mushy peas just like Mother used to make !!! and the beef melted in my mouth !!!The Chef, Robert, carves the meat for your plate and gives such generous portions too - and you can tell as he chats with his customers that there are a lot of regulars coming here each Sunday. We might well fit that category of regulars too now, having been back on several occasions and always finding the meals consistently good.
