New Yummy in Crawley

Really poor show this time, Chinese is my regular treat take away. Being my local shop I was glad to have a good quality well priced, takeaway on my parade. Imagine my shock to come in to a newly reduced menu, my usual order was no longer an option. No worries lets Change it up a bit try something similar, but all I got was appalling quality this time round. Bland dry and colourless. Wasn't visually appealing, and had no flavour what so ever. I'll never order from this service again. I'll sooner go further afield for the quality I used to get.

What a shame - used to be the best in crawley, now it seems to be one of the worst. Food came very, very promptly (35 minutes - very impressive, but that's as far as it goes in terms of pros), and it was abhorrent, almost wholly. To go by item-to-item: - Special Rice - dense, crumbly and tasteless. Almost lacked any flavour, reminiscent of hangover leftovers. The meats were good, except for prawns (undercooked.) - Egg Rice - overcooked, and again, crumbly. - Special Noodles - Very dry, clumpy. Again, the meats were okay aside from dryness, but the dish as a whole were tasteless. - Crispy Beef Chilli - This was probably the best part - no complaints, to be honest. - Prawn Balls - Soggy, prawns were undercooked, no crunch whatsoever, no flavour aside from a strong, wet, bready taste. Very lacking of flavour and seasoning. Also, not a ball, more a tumour lump. - Fritters - By far the worst. Extremely soggy and wet - the syrup seemed to only ruin the entire fritter. The bananas inside were brown and nearly broken. It even looked sickening. - Sweet and Sour Chicken - It wasn't so much the quality, more that it didn't even fit the description. Chicken strips with a bland sauce. A little bit of crumb. That was it. Hardly a dish, more something to throw on a pizza. Again, it's strange to write such a hard review, seeing as I recommended this place to many people prior. Now, there's no love or time in the food. Just throw-togethers of a terrible quality. The compensation when I complained? More food to order, or 10% discount. Why would anyone accept that, given that the food we already had was so bad across the board? Very upset and disappointed - hope New Yummy can change direction - having almost all dishes be bad is quite extraordinary. Again, they used to be the best. Now, this? It's a shame.

I live in North London and I have had every Chinese in my area. This was by miles the best Chinese I have ever had. Hors d’ouvres for 2 was absolutely crazy And the chow mein was great. Duck was so good!

Terrible! Our delivery arrived cold & had 2 wrong items out of 4. The food was inedible, I’d go as far as to say disgusting. We called to try & discuss, with very little help from them. Won’t be recommending or re-ordering!!

Really bad. We have had good food from here in the past but I assume their chef had the night off or something. The chicken balls were soggy - I mean REALLY soggy you couldn’t bite into them they were sort of jellyfied and just fell apart. The noodles were massively over cooked- they’d gone just like when pasta is badly over cooked. Lastly, the crispy shredded chilli beef was again soft - not crispy, it tasted of nothing except for a sauce that had no flavour but was as sweet as if they’d poured Tate & Lyle syrup on it. I don’t even think there was any beef in some of the pieces - just the batter. Very, very bad. I don’t think they know what they’re doing. Clearly they need a shake up. I’m sure a lot of people will like it, we didn’t and won’t be wasting any more of our money on these people again it was horrible. If I could give it zero stars I would have done so.

This place is great. The food tastes spot on and the price is about right. What is amazing is the portion size. If you get a chow mien here you can open the tub take out an adult portion and the tub looks untouched where they pack it in. I love leftovers as much as the original meal so for me this is perfect.

We order from this small outlet around one per month. Food is good, very decent Chinese and the staff is always lovely. Will keep coming back :)

1 hour later , no delivery so decided to do a 'look out' from kitchen window . Saw a guy pull up but didn't think he was delivery guy as he sat in car on his mobile for over 2 mins chatting . Unfortunately he was the delivery guy. The food was stone cold . Literally no heat from any of the food items. No sauce with the sweet and sour chicken. The food wasn't edible even if I had wanted to reheat it. The chicken balls were all batter , tiny piece of chicken inside . Resorted to eating the 'free' prawn crackers but they were chewy and definitely been cooked days earlier . I might as well of put 20 quid straight in the bin

Where do I even start? This is the worst food I have ever had in my life! The mushroom fried rice I got was burnt?! This made the texture of all things almost inedible let alone the taste of it, safe to say that went straight into the bin! The sweet and sour chicken I got was a fried bit of chicken with sauce on the side? Never before have I seen a sweet and sour chicken dish served like this, but I would accept this if it had any taste, all it was was a rubbery bit of chicken sweating in a box. The chicken balls we got to share where raw in the middle and burnt on the outside, it's truly amazing that they even where able to do this, so props for that guys. Honestly the only thing that did not go into the bin and was able to consume was the bottle of coke that came with it. Clearly the delivery man also knew how terrible it was with how quickly he chucked it at me and ran off. Surly as a restaurant you would want to send out food that humans can eat? No just the things that was surly meant for the bin.

Always very efficient over the phone. Delivery takes about an hour but it is usually a Friday night treat. Free prawn crackers are always welcome. Free delivery with no mistakes in the order.

Been eating from here several years and never been let down with service and good standard of food! I would say of late that it has even got better as my last takeaway was excellent! Keep up the the good work Mai and team!

I like yummy as they consistantly cook well. We have a home delivery, it has always turned up hot and tasty. The other enormous bonus is the portion size, far too much! Keep it up Yummy's, we have been using you for 10 years and will continue to do so.

I asked for the duck to be shredded off the bone, this was done but the bone left in the box. Plum sauce was extreme to thick and not very nice.

Awful! Not only did they send me the wrong food once it was twice! The woman on the phone was rude and hung up on me twice! Never again!!!

Have been ordering from New Yummy for years and have never been disappointed. Very fast delivery and highly recommend the crispy chilli beef. Tried almost everything on their menu and their dishes quality vary from good to great. Would recommend this takeout.

Delivery driver didnt come to the door, didnt even park in my close, he parked on the street outside my close.so my partner (who has a crumbling spine & in alot of pain constantly), had to walk across the close,out onto the street to get our order from the driver!!! I might as well have got In my car and gone to the takeaway! We ordered the takeawy to be delivered to our door, not for us to have to go to the driver on the street outside our close!!

The squid wasn't as nice as last time! Very chewy and a lot of bit u edible.

This is a great takeaway, the portions are huge. The prawns in the noodles are king and a good quantity. When it arrived it was hot, well presented. I will not bother anywhere else!

My partner and I did not enjoy this meal at all. It tasted funny and was very stodgy . Really strange as have ordered from here before and it is usually very yummy!!

I called the restaurant after an hour and a half to ask where our meal was. Their response was that the driver made a mistake and the meal wasn't cooked yet. Doesn't make any sense, no apology, no offer of discount, no free item to apologise. Needless to say I WILL NOT be ordering again.

Prices are now a bit too expensive and gone up suddenly. Also the £2 delivery charge was a bit steep, despite spending over £25 on a basic meal for 2 adults, 2 children. Also 1 hour wait for this delivery. Quality of the food is good though as always.

Not a great deal to say really, a very average experience, not bad, not great, portions are ok, taste is ok, friendly staff, food was warm. Came on time. We would use again, just missing that special touch.
