New Yang's in The Vale of Glamorgan

WOW,WOW,WOW. Found this place by accident, and I am so glad I did. Excellent food, waitresses that can't do enough for you, quick service, very reasonable cost (even the drinks). We went Saturday before a show at Barry Memo, and we will definitely be returning very shortly. Well done.

Went here quite late midweek hoping for something nice to eat. The food was incredible and the staff where amazing especially with two tired children. Buffet style dinning but catered to what the staff know will be eaten and not wasted. Highly recommended.

The food - all you can eat - incredible. Possibly the best crispy beef I've ever eaten and the chicken satay starter was honestly amazing. Sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style also a winner! Hidden gem of a place. First visit of many hopefully👌

This review is more just to give people a heads up. Lovely food. but some sneaky stuff going on when it's bill time. "Can we have the bill, please" "Sure. D'you want some fortune cookies?" "Haha yeah why not" *Bungs 9 fortune cookies onto the table for us, even though there's only 4 of us. We opened them and then they returned with the bill, and there was a charge of £9 for the 9 fortune cookies! And we'd already opened them by the time the bill came. Sneaky af. Watch out

The food was fresh , delicious, well cooked and presented! I had my first Chinese beer and it was very pleasant! Lovely family evening!

The food always tastes amazing and has always been cooked perfectly each time I have visited,the service is always polite friendly and welcoming and happily go out of thier way for any extra requests the restaurant is a little smaller so at times can be extremely busy and loud hence the reflection on my rating over all I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and I look forward to my next visit

The buffet food was very warm cooked and it tasted excellent in opinion. The service from the young lady and young man was also very good. It's good because you can choose which foods you want from the menu,instead of a help yourself buffet.

Had take away some weeks back which was below average. Thought I may have caught them on a bad night so gave it another go last night what a mistake all three meals were inedible and the bags of chips well there’s no way to describe how bad they were best thing that happened was putting it all in the bin

We've been coming here for years, and it used to be great! Lovely fresh tasty food, good atmosphere and decent prices. But now it's £18 each all you can eat, £16 for a bottle of £5 wine and £3 for a pint of coke or lemonade! The food isnt great, either far too salty or just bland. The crispy beef is the same as the bags you get from farm foods! The amount of duck you get is just about enough to fill one decent pancake, and if you order a prawn dish you get just 4 prawns. Had noodles that were just pure salt, they were almost black having been drowned in Soy sauce. Fried rice was just tasteless, the alleged pork was just tiny lumps of black and the chicken just white strips of tasteless mush! The waitress however, was great, but if you want to leave the waiting staff a tip, give it to them direct, otherwise they never get to see it. Sadly, won't be returning, as would rather pay for a taxi to a good sit down restaurant where it's about quality not just quantity.

The service was great but the quality of the food was not good, everything tastes the same. You need to change the chef. Won't be back.

New Yang's in Barry is a lovely Chinese Restaurant to visit for beautiful food. Celebrating my Granddaughter's Birthday was a lovely evening at this Restaurant and would visit again..

Food was full of flavour and service was quite quick, we had the all you can eat for £20.99 pp think it a bit pricey so wouldnt do it all the time, limeted choice of food on menu but it was all cooked to perfection and to request. Think resturant could do with a bit of tlc and updating, staff friendly and service with a smile downt think we have ever had a bad meal from here nor bad service, keep up good work 👏

Great experience, great value, good quick service. I liked the all you can eat, was a good experience. I liked the fact that you can pick menu items and request all you can eat option. Then just ask for top ups.

Ordered a delivery for a fairly standard takeaway (sweet and sour and a chow mein). Positives Delivered quickly, thank you Negatives Food was overcooked and quite bland Fried rice was actually boiled rice with a sauce Chow mein had very little flavour or content Overall Will avoid in future - there are many better Chinese takeaways in the area

Been here a few times for birthdays and always been fairly quick with food. Only thing is pop is flat and beer isn't very nice unless it's in a glass bottle

Food was delivered promptly from ordering and was nice and hot. Tasty dishes with a lot of choice. Had the 'all you can eat' menu and no restrictions on what or how much you order as long as it's reasonable. The service was friendly. Was busy, which is great to see in today's belt tightening world. Would return, and their takeaway side was busy too, seeing the amount of food heading out in bags. Could do with a little upgrade to the decor, been the same for years, but clearly doesn't affect business.

First and last trip to new yangs. From the moment we sat down it was an awful experience. Mediocre food at best, awful service and attitude of staff and really expensive for what you get. I teally cant rhink if anything good to say about the place.

Not very gd at all last night 21.9.22...we were waiting 15 20 mins..for our starter.after having our selection of starters.. .iceberg filing...then wrong prawns meant to be sate not chilli.. Over cooked ribs..Brown lettuce..then was forgotten about..always liked it here.misses birthday meal..spoilt the day..

Very busy but still delicious food.

Must say awesome food and made for a nice night especially with it being so close to Barry beach (drive) £17 pp for all you can eat, comes out as separate meals as you order. Only issue was if you are new to this kind of dining, you have to make your decisions quick as staff are on top of you and will wait behind you until you quickly decide. Will definitely go back but you may have to demonstrate some more assertiveness with the staff.

Very disappointing! The food didn't seem fresh at all. The chips were old and hard, the popadoms were soft, from being in the same bag as hot food and the chicken fried rice seemed like it was an old batch, with some hard dried chicken in it. We ordered via FoodHub, and wanted to try somewhere new to us. Unfortunately the meal was a total let down, as certainly wasn't to the standard we were expecting from a restaurant. I would definitely think twice about ordering again, and wouldn't recommend the food. The delivery was quick, but that might have been an indication that the food was just thrown together, and not fresh.

Good food and good people who run the place well worth the money

We used to order from NY for 5 years without any issues, until a couple of days ago. Our usual order arrived and it was frankly, disgusting quality - chow mein all clumpy and tasting off, as if it was old, crispy beef obviously undercooked and pale, rice not the freshest, sweet and sour chicken looking completely different to usual. The only dish that looked normal and was edible was a curry chicken. We complained to the owner and he offered 10% off the next order which was completely unsatisfactory considering £25> went in a bin and he expected us to spend it again to get approx. £2.50 off. Awful customer service, lacking care for repeat customers. And now I am rather unhappy to say that we have food poisoning as a result of eating the chicken from NY. Absolutely disgusting. We will never order from there again and recommend that you go elsewhere as this place has dropped the ball big time and clearly they don't even care. I regret spending money on this business over the years, better out there to support.

Really nice food, lovely tasting. We only had takeaway though, the tables were full and everyone was having a good time, that's how we roll in Barry. Reasonable as well.plus they gave me two bags of prawn crackers, all good.

We love New Yangs. The staff are lovely and the food is amazing. We usually go for the sit in-cooked to order buffet option and its always fresh, hot and delicious. It our favourite place to go for a treat and the food really is spot on. We've never been disappointed here and never had anything other than great service and great food. 100% recommended 👌 We've been coming here for about 5 years now and its still brilliant.
