Absolutely fantastic meal me and my partner took my parent for the first time they had a fantastic time and couldn’t believe they didn’t visit sooner. Staff were super friendly and fantastic and the food was really delicious hot and tasty we all can’t wait to visit again

We've had a takeaway from here twice now, both times the food was lovely, good portion size, we've had different curries each time and all of them have been delicious! The vegetarian options are good and we'll definitely order from here again!

Home delivery. The driver was so kind and polite. The food was absolutely amazing. The best Indian we have had in a very long time.

Had a lovely evening here for my wife’s birthday. Six of us had a great variety of dishes all cooked to perfection and served by very pleasant staff who were delighted to advise us on the aspects of each dish. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Christmas lunch at the new swad yesterday. Food was amazing and the service was five star, can not praise these guys enough it was great value for money and a fantastic atmosphere.

Good food last night. Arrived and the place was busy, which is a good sign. I was accommodated and a table was found for then 3 of us. The food was good from start to finish, the cobras cold and the bill fair.

Amazing food and great service. We have been takeaway customers for a while but eating in was even better. King Prawns were cooked perfectly and the naan bread was delicious. We will be back soon

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Been here a couple of times and each time have been really impressed. Service is attentive, and food arrived quickly, however we did not feel rushed and all together we enjoyed the whole evening.

It was our first visit to New Swad and I’m very disappointed to have to give it only an average rating as the food was great, nice environment and 2 out of the 3 waiters were fantastic, very polite and welcoming. Unfortunately the experience was spoilt by an incredibly rude and abrupt waiter. I do have a feeling that the other staff may have spoken to him as they quickly came out to see is after being served by him and he didn’t serve us again after taking the order.

My good lady and I were referred to New Swad Restaurant by a work colleague just after the first Covid lockdown rules were lifted. We started by ordering a takeaway to be delivered. The phone service, delivery service and food quality were excellent. We have also since visited to dine in and can reiterate the same. Attentive and friendly staff always make the difference but when coupled with excellent food takes the whole experience to a level second to none. As we are approaching our first full year of enjoying consistent high standards we believe the NEW SWAD TEAM deserve our appreciation. D&D

Having visited a few months ago & having abysmal service, we decided to give it another go! We had booked & got a table quite quickly on this occasion! After having to chase up drinks, popadoms & someone to take our order our food arrived! We’ve had better, we’ve had worse! The food was delicious. However there was an awful sewage smell coming from the ladies bathroom absolutely horrendous. Another thing I need to mention I was watched inappropriately by a man I believe could Atul (not a 100% sure). Apart from that there were a few young waiters polite and open doors for us etc. Due to these factors I rate this a 2/5.

I must go here at least 3 times a month. This restaurant never fails to deliver even when I didn’t book they sort me a table in minutes. Patient and welcoming staff with good advice regardless the dishes. I recommend it every time

I have ordered delivery several times from New Swad and each order was absolutely delicious. The tandoori chicken Bhuna was especially delicious. The price was pretty reasonable and I highly recommend it.

Won’t be going back didn’t realise how expensive this takeaway was until we broke the bill down one meal £4 more than our usual Bombay spice meal. The masala sauce tasted out a packet and powdery and chips luke warm and soggy, nan bread comes in plastic bag so it’s dripping with condensation when you take it out! Nope not a good experience and expensive one only thing that was same price was the chips everything else £1 minimum more! Not worth it.

a warm welcome and good food if you like it hot try the naga. we have been here several times and the food is always the same cooked to a very high standard

This is mine and my husband’s go to restaurant in Swadlincote. Definitely the town’s best restaurant that we have eaten at. We regular dine in and have take away. We’ve never had a bad meal. The food is delicious. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They’ve even made me something I fancy if it’s not on the menu. They remember their customers and always find time to chat. Wonderful hospitality. They usually bring us a small drink on the house at the end. So lovely. Great value. We’ve eaten in Indian restaurants in Birmingham and London at 3 times the price and the food here is just as good, if not better.

Booked a table for 8pm, 8.30 still no table! Finally got a table 9.40pm still no food!

Had a couple of beers in the Pub and fancy a curry with the wife. Nice staff, great food. Had the mixed platter starter for one fantastic. Biryani madras lovely. Well worth a visit if your around.

Went here with a group of blokes from Hinckley Round Table. Staff were very good, a selection of beers available, good variety on the menu and the food was nice. Just what you want with a bunch of mates. We will be back next time we're in the area.

First time in an Indian Restaurant. What lovely experience. The staff were really superb. I went with a group of 5 others, so I was able to try lots of different foods. I will certainly go again. We weren't rushed and the atmosphere was very cosy. The food was very well presented, hot and there was plenty of it.

Called in 7/5/2019 We mostly go to Burton for our Oriental Meals But decided to give New Swad Bangladesh a try,We both Loved the food the Hospitality and the cost.Cannot Fault A1

Have been going to this Indian Restaurant for a number of years and it is superb, the service is great and the atmosphere is lovely .

Cosy restaurant with keen waiters. The menu has quite a lot of stuff on it. Service was pretty good and the staff knew their dishes. The good was well spiced and in some cases too spicy but still tasted good. For the area this is easily a 4-5 restaurant but not compared to others elsewhere.

Booked for the busy night of Swad lights and ended up turning up with extra family members, luckily they accommodated us!! We moved to Derby 6/7 years ago and the staff still remember and look after us whenever we go back..

My wife and i visited this restaurant for the first time recently. We was told by other regulars that you could bring your own drink but was told on arriving we couldnt although it would be ok on this occasion. So it may be worthwhile checking. We both had onion bhajis for starters. We had 4 each and were each of a fair size, plus salad etc. Main course for me was Chicken Dopiaza. My wife had Vegetable Dhansak. Both meals were really nice, of a good portion, and not swimming in oil.We was also impressed by the menu and overall appearance.

The food was first rate and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going again.

We visited on the night of the Christmas lights switch on. Town was very busy as was this place. We hadn't booked but we're asked to wait 5 mins whilst they cleared a table for us. From then on service was excellent. Waiting staff were very attentive given that they were so busy. A large choice of dishes on the menu. Food was tasty and portion sizes were generous. Food prices are pretty reasonably priced. Not the closest curry house to us but will be our curry house of choice from now on.

Service was average I asked for a wine list but the waiter didn’t understand me eventually another waiter came to the table and said we do white and red wine but we have no wine list. The poppadoms and pickles where good and the food was good but could have been presented better.

Absolute rubbish! It seems that people in this area have no idea what a real indian restaurant is all about, not surprising given the lack of competition! No consistency of dishes, I ordered my favourite curry on three separate occasions, and it came out completely different every time. Real restaurants keep the same chef all week. On the last visit I had two completely different portions of chicken on the same plate, ie some marinated pieces which were correct for the meal, but obviously they ran out during the night and just stir fried some bland, boring chicken and threw it into my curry thinking I wouldn't notice. Pathetic! If you would like to know what real indian cooking is all about, drive 170 miles south to the empress of india, sitingbourne. One meal in there and you'll be wishing it was on your doorstep. Unfortunately, the poor locals in Swad (and surrounding area) will have to keep putting up with poor, boring, amateurish restaurants and takeaways. Absolutely no idea, I can do better with a homepride curry sauce out of a jar! RUBBISH!

Returned here having not been for almost 5 years. Amazed to see the same friendly staff, still excellent food and good value for money.

My in laws were over from Australia and I've only ever eaten Indian by having it delievered to house... so we decided to visit the Indian restaurant for he first time on the Saturday night.

Been eating here for several years. Eat in and takeaway. Food is excellent and staff really helpful. All of the curries and rice dishes are naturally gluten free so lots of choice for Coeliacs too.

Rude staff & burnt food, we booked a week before , was given rubbish table, the waiter was swearing with another couple , when the food came out it was mostly over cooked. I wouldn't go back .

We have been coming here for years, under this ownership and the previous one. The food is always excellent, fresh and piping hot. The staff are friendly and helpful and willing to give advice on the menu options. They even wave and say hello if they see you in the street.

Son home from Uni means only one thing...curry. We went on Saturday night, early doors. I had booked a table which was so good as place soon filled up. We had the pickles and popadoms followed by 3 curries, 2 rices, naan bread, and a rosti. 4 large bottles of beer, 2 pineapple juices and we were all full and satisfied. Once again New Swad didn't let us down. Hopefully we will return soon. Fantastic staff who never forget us, good service, freshly cooked hot meals....why would you go else where??

We went to the New Swad for the first time in about two years on Bank Holiday Monday. The welcome we received was phenomenal - we weren't remembered (and didn't expect to be) so we were greeted as first time customers. But we very much had the feeling that we were immediately friends, not just customers.

Superb food. Great range of dishes. Fantastic value. Lovely, bright decor. And the friendliest, coolest staff ever. There is no better Indian in Derbyshire. Go eat!

Been here several times with small and larger groups (up to 12 or so) and service has always been impeccable as has the food, always freshly cooked and delicious. Always happy to recommend this place as staff are so friendly and welcoming.

Often go to the restaurant and have a great meal. But thought we would try a take away. It was delivered on time. The order was correct. The poppadums came with 2 dips and some salad. The butter chicken was a little sweet but that is my taste. Everything else was great.

No complaints at all about the meal at all. A good Indian curry that was as tasty as we expected having seen previous reviews.

Having moved here relatively recently we have been looking for a good local Indian takeaway / restaurant.

Loverly friendly staff cracking food with a good atmosphere. Must try the Milly Jilly, always get offered a drink on the house when you ask for your bill.

I live near Atherstone in Warwickshire, but travel over to Swad to visit my daughter, and to collect my takeaways.

A fantastic meal at the New Swad, We had hears good reports of the New Swad so decided to go for a meal, it was truly fantastic, the food was well very well presented and very, very good to eat, the staff made us very welcome and assured us that if we needed more rice or anything else just let us know, we did not need this as the food was plentifull. We had wine which again was very good and reasonably priced, we were offered a baileys to finish the meal off which we had. All in all a very good night, more locals should use this excellent eatery.You will not be disappointed.

First visit as was highly recommended by a couple a couple of people for a ladies night out and I was expecting great things.First up, no drinks menu so kind of felt put of the spot when ordering a drink from an extremely limited selection. The portion size and quality of the starter was disappointing with the samosas not too different supermarket made. The rice which we decided to share one between two, arrived in tiny dishes the size of saucers. In my opinion this was a very small portion for one let alone two. It was bland in taste and colour. The peshwari naan looked like a pancake as was literally dripping with a honey like sauce that was overly sweet and sickly. The volume of crushed almond paste inside was again too much weighing the bread down and not a sultana in sight. The various curries we ordered we all equally disappointing. The masala was a very unauthentic shocking red with a few tiny pieces of chicken. The butter chicken was already served onto a side plate with no more than four pieces of chicken clearly visible and the sauce covering the remainder of the plate. Very few of the curries seemed to have any vegetables or herbs/spices visible and it all came with the feel of hurried poor quality food. This was not a particularly cheap menu either with all main courses coming in at £7/8 excluding the rice. When the bill was brought out, I was surprised to see that we'd been charged £10.50 for the 7 of us to have ONE popadum each with one shared tray of sauces (that there then given to another table). I've eaten at far better far more authentic Indians for much less where popadoms are provided for free or a nominal amount. So generally a pretty poor meal out although the service was okay.

First visit for most of us but the regular haunt of my sister & brother-in-law. Absolutely fabulous! Service is the best I have ever had. Staff are friendly but also very efficient. There were 20 of us and we had no waiting time. Foods fabby. Thank you for making my sisters birthday very very special. We will be back x

Very friendly and welcoming. Even though we didn't book they still found us a table. Food very nice cooked fresh the only thing disappointing was the naan bread not to the usual standard looked it was shopped brought. But overall very nice and will return.

I went to the new swad for my birthday with a large group of family. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly with the children and the service was quick for such a large order. As we were such a big group and the restaurant is small, I was slightly conscious of annoying other diners. Excellent atmosphere. The food was lovely and a really extensive menu.

This Indian Restaurant serves the best curry I have had in a long time (I'm from birmingham and eat curry a lot!).I had the North Indian special (meat) and it was tasty, sweet, hot and full of flavour, the naan was light and fluffy and the after dinner Baileys was a nice touch.......Thank You so much... We will be back.Definately recommend

Booked at 8 o'clock on a Saturday night and within 15 minutes we were seated in a lively but well managed restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Shaschlick Bhuna which was one of the nicest Indian dishes I'd ever tasted. My husband ordered the lamb tikka byrianni which he loved which is unusual because I usually have to drag him into restaurants specialising in Indian cuisine. Our waiter was friendly, prompt and efficent. Brilliant service, beautiful food and we will definately return.

We visited the restaurant one Friday evening. The food we had was superb! I had the salmon with rice and masala sauce and I have never tasted such a flavour-balanced meal. We have known the owners since they started selling food as a takeaway in Newhall and they have been consistent with the quality of their food for years. Their paneer dishes are wonderful. The atmosphere is lovely, it was quiet when we went as it was early, but the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about all the food.. Must go now to book a table there!

Really nice food and good service! Top notch! Come again and choose the tikka sauce. The service made it really, with a friendly welcome and great chat that made us feel relaxed but comfortable to be ourselves.
