New Street Grill in City of London, Westminster

The place looks ok but it’s really loud. They also wouldn’t reseat us despite there being available. The food was good, but not good enough for the price. Service was ok but it took too long. The noise was unbearable. We considered leaving before we ate but it was too late for us to find another alternative. They need to fix the acoustics really badly.

Had an enjoyable dinner with 2 friends: service was excellent, enjoyed cocktails. The only reason for 4* is that the burgers that two of us ordered were served rather cold while our other friend’s food (chicken Kiev) was served hot.

The food here is excellent. Definitely up there with the better known establishments. They have the best onion rings I have ever tasted!

Perfect ambience for a business meeting or first date.

The service was top notch and the steaks were cooked to perfection.

Really excellent steaks. A bit delayed coming out of the kitchen so they have us the coffee on the house (we didn't complain or ask - they just did it). Really pleasant and helpful servers. A real find.

We had a lovely birthday lunch here on a Saturday. The food was very good, we all opted for steak on the a la carte menu. Ergun served us and was very attentive. Would definitely come back.

Ergun service was second to none, he kept our glasses topped up for the 2 hour’s duration the food as always was fabulous recommend 100% it was a pleasure to eat at New Street I have been coming here for over 4 years now and the service is always 1st class

Exceptional dining experience at New Street Grill! I had a dinner reservation recently, and it was truly amazing experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Service was great, our waiter made excellent recommendations for both food and wine pairing. The staff here generally cares about the quality of the experience they offer. The steaks we ordered were cooked to absolute perfection. The portions sizes were generous, and everything was served at the perfect temperature. If you a steak lover it’s a must visit! I will definitely be back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend! ✨

Fui en una noche con mi pareja y nuestro sumiller john nos mostró vino basado en nuestras preferencias, que fue increíble! nuestro camarero bek me recomendó bistec ya que no estoy demasiado familiarizado con las diferentes opciones, y sus recomendaciones no decepcionaron! yo y mi pareja volveremos al 100% y honestamente recomendaría a cualquiera que esté buscando tener una comida de negocios o una cita por la noche.

Some of the best food and service I've experienced in a long time.

Place was empty for a Friday night, and the restaurant was very cold. Sauces for the steak were cold, even the second time they came out the kitchen. Overpriced for what it was, I won’t be going back

Not at all busy for a Thursday evening. Not great start when no one to greet us a reception and seemed a little disorganised. Food was OK but nothing memorable. Nice wine and attentive service. Not sure I'd go again.

Excellent steak served. Also tried scallops and desserts and both above average. Very good service and a good place to have dinner gathering with friends.

Such a hidden find. Very excited we found it. Fantastic location tucked away in a little brilliant cul-de-sac with big windows fantastic wine list and wonderful food. Our server was absolutely amazing. Zero hesitation recommending as a five star. 

Good food, great service and some fantastic cocktails. Only real downside I found was they tend to over salt the salad..

Everything food wise was great. However the service was extremely slow. It took over an hour to get our food from when we ordered (even though we were 9 people that could explain slightly longer time to get our food ready). But the rest of the restaurant was almost empty. But I would still recommend this very much, but not if you’re in a hurry.

Excellent venue, Food, service and cocktails.

Lovely restaurant with very attentive service. We had an early evening dinner and the restaurant was super quiet but a nice table by the window listening to liquid jazz music still created a nice atmosphere. The cocktails were superb and our shared chateaubriand was cooked perfectly. For a larger meal, I would say it is worth ordering a couple of sides as the overall sizes of the steak, single side, bone marrow and sauces erred on the smaller side.

Great little find, amazing food, excellent wine choice.

We did the bottomless brunch. The food was very good and plenty of it. The Prosecco kept getting topped up. We did have to ask a couple of times but there was no resistance to having another, even with 5 minutes to go for the 2 hour slot

The Ribeye steak was very chewy and poorly cooked. Staff were lovely, fantastic wine, quiet and secluded.

A really love meal, made better by our attentative front of house - John. Food was delicious with a good selection of choices on the menu, accompanied by some lovely cocktails. My wife and I both left very happy and very full!

Lovely outside area, let down by the food. Chips were cold and had to be sent back, where they were refried and became tough and crispy. Ribeye steak ordered medium rare was tough and over cooked. Steak was also cold. Better options for your money in the City.

Enormous place … hardly anyone there for the lunch… service was slow but very accommodating and friendly … food was good 👍

The restaurant was empty (only 2 other tables besides us all lunchtime) however, they still managed to get our main course order wrong! Firstly 1 of our party requested potato gratin only to be told and I quote "it sold out yesterday" suggesting you buy-in and there hasn't been a delivery, this raises a question about the ability of the kitchen staff to cook rather than just bung in a microwave!! Starters were fine, lovely in fact. Then 3 of our party of 6, ordered rump steak, 1 of each rare, med-rare and medium! 2 came and were ok, however the 3rd (the rare steak) was obviously overdone (I would say med/ well down) when my friend called over the manager, he confronted her, asked if she'd cut through the middle, and even got out his phone torch for a better look, should he not have just accepted her opinion and taken it back!!? It was eventually taken away and a new one promised. He was pretty rude and upset my friend quite substantially, then she had another altercation with him a little later when he squared up to her and they had an outright argument in the bar! After this, she was too upset and shaken to eat the second steak! We never saw him again, and although the waiter and bar manager were lovely and did their best to make amends, it spoilt our lunch, leaving an atmosphere. We then still paid over £120 each, which is quite an amount even with the desserts and digestives taken off the bill! What made matters worse was that the place was empty, so the chef wasn't even rushed! It's really sad to see what was a lovely restaurant go so far down hill, another victim of the D&D curse, won't be going back!!

What a wonderful place! The staff and fantastic, helpful and kind ( letting us in early to shelter from the rain) and giving us a gorgeous comfy booth for our very pregnant friend to relax during lunch. The food was great and the John services was fantastic he gave us several tips about what to visit.

Dinner on Monday night so not so busy in the city. Good service; nice range of wines (towards the higher price range). Scallops with nduja served in shell - top class. Good selection of steak cooked as one would expect. One of the party had the bream which was also excellent. Will return.

Everything was pretty good but the bathrooms needed some attention. The shared men and women’s toilets is fine in principal but as the night progressed, the toilets became less appealing to use as a woman. Men just don’t adhere to bathroom etiquette the way women do.

The staff were friendly and efficient. the food excellent - cooked and delivered speedily, and the atmosphere relaxing and comfortable. I would/will happily return again

The main customer service person had poor client service. The chocolate vegan mousse was inedible and his comment was its vegan. So should one assume it should be inedible then??!!

This is a very good restaurant. My old colleague and I are serious carnivores, so we were drawn to this Grill for the choice of meat. Service was adequate but not outstanding. Food was very nice indeed but not sensational and, as this is a top-end London City restaurant with prices to match, maybe we were expecting something slightly better. I don’t know, but when you are paying what you’re paying for a sharing T-Bone, I don’t understand why you have to pay soo much for sides. And maybe worth thinking about a “hot-plate” to keep your expensive steak warm.

Fantastic service, fantastic food. I just wish they had the oysters but I'll be back for those another day.

The food was excellent. However, there was no one on reception to greet guests or to take coats etc. The service was slow and the table I was sat at was sticky and in need of a good clean.

We visited New Street Grill Saturday for my dad's 70th. We were a family of 9 including children. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble- the staff were polite, courteous and very attentive. The food was amazing and the additional treat of accommodating our cake we surprise Dad with was a lovely touch. I have no problems recommendng this restaurant to anyone visiting London or the area- location wise it's perfect and the whole experience was a great end to a busy day celebrating a great milestone for our Dad🍾

It does steak and it does it well. It is perfectly located to Liverpool Street Station (just across the road) and so easy to get to. The venue is comfortable, welcoming, and the waiting staff are friendly and efficient. It's not inexpensive, but the quality of the food is worth it.

Food was excellent, and service was very attentive

The space is warm and inviting. The service was professional. My monkfish was so good. My husband had steak and it was 7/10. Flavorful but with gristle. The fries were so good, I kept eating them even after I was full. Broccoli, so good. Wine was affordable and the crumble was the best!!!

I came on a date to this restaurant, to be honest I was surprised by the atmosphere and service in this restaurant. Let's start in order. We were given a very nice place near the window, where we could see the bar terrace. I asked for recommendations on wine, they called me a wine expert, as I remember his name is John, John recommended a good wine that I and I liked. We ordered steaks, they were very very tasty. We also ordered desserts and they were delicious. I liked the service, the food was brought quickly. I recommend everyone to visit this restaurant.

Fantastic hidden gem within Liverpool street. The food was very well cooked and the steaks were full of flavour, and on request for a wine recommendation the sommalier John recommended a fantastic malbec.

This is a really good restaurant. Very pleasant staff, attentive but not overly so. Really nice food and generous portions. Highly recommended.

Avoid- mouse in the premise under the tables where you eat, ordered food and cancelled the order and left as the sight of a mouse under the tables where we are eating put us off 1 star is generous

Solid food with more choice than many steakhouse formats. The service was terrific: attentive by unobtrusive. The wine list had some super options at reasonable prices.

It was incredibly loud in the restaurant, so much so we had to ask to be moved as could not hear each other speak. The food was average. I probably wouldn't rush to go back.

Me and my boyfriend went for a birthday dinner and everything was amazing. Starting from the service ending with delicious steaks. Thank you for making our dinner special by a surprise birthday treat as well.

reception on entry was brilliant, smiling young lady, affable, efficient and attentive food service was distinctly average, some language barriers present, only two of us but the main course arrived and the server needed to confirm which was whose, same with the coffee plates were on the cold side which doesnt help to keep the food warm when you have a medium to rare fillet steak andsame with rib eye chips were good coffeee average the bill of £155 was not value for money with the chips at £6 per portion a 13.50% service charge also didnt help water and coffee (we had no alcohol or satrters) seemed on the high side and all in all i would not recommend it unless it is a business lunch where the bill is rarely questioned ambience is good noise level on the high side with sound reverberation

I came here for a date night with my wife. The atmosphere setting and table distancing was excellent, could not fault the service and the food.... well everything was just perfect - bubbles, wine, steak was to die for.... The steak was cooked very well as I asked for it. This place comes highly recommended !

It pains to give this a 1 star for food but this is the reason. Booked for a birthday meal as we normal go round the corner to KOD for a good steak but wanted to try something different. Ordered 2 rib eye steaks bout to be served medium well, they both arrived RARE, now how can you get this wrong when your primary offering is steak. The serving staff replaced the whole meal (good point) but again both came out RARE AGAIN! Now if your the chef and your recooking because of a complaint you would think you would be all over it to ensure the same mistake is not made on the replacement. The staff again did offer to replace it for a 3rd time but we said no as I think all confidence was now lost and the meal spoilt because of this. They did give us free deserts so the front of house staff did try their best to rectify the situation but at the end of the day the issue is in the kitchen and that MUST be addressed

A very pleasant afternoon with five friend. I hope you keep up the set menu deal as we would definitely dine more frequently if you csn continue the deal throughout the year. We have a group of approx 10-12 old colleagues most of whom are pensioners and would be happy to lunch/dine on a regular basis if the set menu were to be available monthly! Please keep me posted on set menu offers! The staff were attentive but not obtrusive, the right balance! We were also not hurried along and left to leave when we were fone which was very much appreciated! Thank you to all the staff from waiters to chefs, management and owners. I wouldn’t advise this place as the service was not very good at all.

Very slow service, menus almost unreadable because of lack of lighting / formatting issues (some prices weren’t shown) / font colours, steak below par, impossible to hear fellow diners as other guests were very loud.

Very nice restaurant, great location and food. Only disappointment was the fruit crumble was cold and was served immediately after we completed our main course. Would still return to this very nice restaurant.

First time eating here & we treated ourselves to a chateaubriand that was beautifully cooked & presented. Lovely treat & sure I’ll be back again soon

Modern menu. Plenty of seafood option alongside the steaks. Quality ingredients prepared perfectly. Superb environment for business lunch or catching up with an old acquaintance. Highly recommended.
